I do not recommend this establishment. Over the last few years, business for this establishment has dwindled as I believe it's highly due to a lack of decent customer service. Because I know my products, know what braiding material I need, and for the most part, wear my hair in its natural state, I never need assistance from staff in finding products. Lately I've been noticing interactions between the owners and certain customers. I've watched them greet, be friendly, and make eye contact with various groups of people, but when it comes to Black Americans you appear distant, not friendly, refuse to greet, and have a look of disdain when approached by a Black American. I witnessed the owner standing at the front entrance yesterday, greet a Hispanic couple and an Ethiopian man and blatantly ignore a Black American woman entering the store. This place is as disrespectful as it gets to its African American customers. I will not patronize this establishment again, nor should you. I am new to the area and have shopped here a few times, spending hundreds of dollars each time. Today I visited to spend another couple of hundred dollars and ask one question to the woman who manages the wig section about how to maintain a $200-300+ unit. She refused to answer, telling me instead to buy the unit first, and then she would answer. Then she told me to go to an aisle and look through the many products, while never having the decency to look up at me. Imagine someone using their hand to make to "shooo" motion without looking up. It symbolized for me a level of dismissiveness and disrespect for the patrons of this black haircare store. They expect you to spend hundreds of dollars without a modicum of customer service or respect because we are a captive market that will always come back and spend insane amounts of money on their merchandise. Bought a hair dryer here that didn't work. Bought it right back to store and they had to "test it" to make sure it didn't work. The no return policy posted on the door says no returns on wigs or weaves because of hygiene issues. Understandable. But a hair dryer is not physically on a person. Long story short, they wouldn't refund or offer to replace the product. I was so irritated by the experience o left it there, and I'm sure they'll resell the product. So two warnings - the company does not adhere to its refund policy and they will probably sell a known dysfunctional product so look out. read more

I stopped here the other day after coming from the gym. I've been coming here for years and have given this business ALOT of money (as I am sure other people of color have as well). However, on this day the store manager/owner decided I looked like a thief and started following me while he pretended to look at items on the shelves in my area. When I got to the checkout line, surprised, offended and in disbelief that he was surveilling ME- he walks by and we locked eyes. I'm looking like "WTHeck"and he's looking like "I wish you would". He walks behind the counter while I'm in line but comes back from behind the counter to stand next to me as the cashier rings me up. He didn't walk away until I paid for my items and I'm SHOCKED. I'm so tired of supporting businesses that REALLY don't respect us. This was my second time here after first visting 5 months ago. I went to pick up a few products and to see what crochet and clip-in hair they had. I was literally there for well over an hour and a half, slowly wandering around and just looking at everything. I made it to the wig section and the lady working in that area greeted me and she was very polite. She asked if i needed help, asked what I was looking for, told me the promos, and tried making some suggestions. She was a good salesperson. Even though our hair texture was different, she was helpful and gave good advice about the wigs, which I have never purchased. I would go back for her help, she was friendly. Another person asked me if everything was ok if i needed anything while i was slowly shopping. Other than that, nobody disturbed me, no racial profiling, no hovering, nothing strange. They sell just about every product for hair care. Good overall experience. Keep in mind this is not a black owned establishment, it is Korean owned. I know that is a very important factor to a lot of people, so putting that out there. Maybe they have improved their customer service skills...?? read more

I was shopping there and a nice young lady was ringing me up who mentioned to me it was her 2nd day. Well her manager was standing next to her and so rudely cut her off as she was giving me my change. Then grabbed a handful of coins and told her to count as she had a line full of ppl. Mr Haun was pushy, rude and disrespectful towards this young lady. I later returned that week to purchase more items and just so happened to get the same young lady. Once again he was coming down on her due to a price adjustment. She responded to him that she wasn't trained for that yet and he responded you should have known this by day 2. I quickly stopped him and said you do not talk to someone else child like that and you need to wait until she is done dealing with her costumers. He was unprofessional. One of the larger beauty supply stores in the area with a large selection to meet your beauty needs. While the selection and variety are vast, the customer service is not always the best. The young ladies who work here are friendly and depending on what you need can be very helpful. However, the management staff does not posses the caliber of customer service skills need to make customer want to come back over and over again. I'm going on a trip next week so I came in to try on some wigs. They have the largest wig selection that I found so far in this area so that's usually where I go. I've probably spent well over $1000 at this location and maybe the past 4 years. So I went into that try on some wigs. I bought a wig cap. I tried on two wigs after I was told that I couldn't try them out of the package and I needed to try the sample wigs that were on the doll heads. I did that and chose one of the wigs. But the wig that I tried on was black and the color that I wanted to buy was 2-toned mostly blonde with black roots. if you work in a beauty supply, you are well aware that we need to see the product out of the package because there is no return on hair. She refused to let me see the hair outside of the package after me expressing many times that I did not want to put the wig on, I just see the wigs color. She took the wig away and went to put it back on the shelf. This is when I start recording her and asking how come I couldn't see the wig that's when she decides to go ahead and take it out because now she's on a video and that's when I decide I'm not spending my money here because why are you treating me like I can't see what I'm spending my money on. When I spoke to the manager, he talk to me as like I was his child and I know everybody has their cultures but sir you are working with black women we are not beneath you matter fact, we pay all your bills. He threaten me with legal action for posting what actually happened to me in the situation and told me what happened didn't really happen even though I have video proof. This location is only 1 mile from my home and I frequent this store often for my hair and makeup needs. The staff is kinda iffy. I've gone in on occasions and the sales people especially the oriental staff which I assume are the managers/owners aren't the most pleasant or knowledgeable of the products they sale. So now I don't even approach them. I look for someone else. I don't think they have the best hair products, i.e ponytails buns or other hair pieces. They indeed have the latest and greatest hair products especially for African Americans. They also have a huge makeup assortment. A lot of their makeup is on the less expensive side, however I've purchased some lipsticks that have been decent quality and color. read more

All Beauty 4Us are not created the same. The selection varies from store to store. I have have the one in Woodbridge and the one on Oxon Hill to have the largest selection. I was able to stop grouch and grab what I needed in no time and get back on the road. The Woodbridge location is great if you are driving through (like I was) and it's not too far off the exit. You can find whatever your hair needs are. But make sure you are comparison shopping because everything is not cheaper there but they do have some deals. read more

She wouldn't even let me hold the bag of hair. She literally carried the hair all the way to the register and said it had a sensor on it. The young lady at the front rung up my order and there was no sensor. This was an absolutely racist tactic. There is no other reason why I would be followed to the register, which I have to say this is the 1st time in my life anyone has ever done that to me. I've been to this store several times. When they first opened, I was excited about how big they were and their large selection of products. I've lived in Woodbridge most of my life and the other beauty supply stores had nothing on this place. However, as time went on, their shelves weren't stocked as much, even though they still carry more of a variety than the majority. I found myself disappointed that they were out of the things I was looking for each time I went. So I would purchase my items somewhere else. I visited this store less and less. I had a hair appointment a month ago and needed some weave. I bought it from Beauty 4 U, only to find that I bought the wrong brand (they do need people on the floor who are knowledgable because I found none). When I went back to get store credit last week, this was the first time I encountered rude customer service. They have too many young people working there with no experience in dealing professionally with customers. The girl at the register was playing with her hair with her back to me. I had to say "Hello!" To get her attention. Then she instructed me, begrudgingly, to go to the back to get assistance with my hair return. I went to the back and met two young ladies just standing there. No greeting, no "How can I help you." I told them what I needed and one took my receipt and whispered something to me. I was like "Excuse me?" Then she said it a little louder "Go to the front to get your credit." When I returned to the register, there was a different young lady there who was super nice. But when the manager came to authorize my credit, I told him that some of the ladies here have attitude problems, but he didn't acknowledge me. Then I said it a little louder and he acted like he didn't know what "attitude problem" meant. He said "What do you mean?" I said "Some of your employees don't have good customer service." I love the merchandise sold at this place. But there are a few things they need to fix about their customer service. First, they do not have a public restroom. Make sure to control your urges while shopping. Second, they do not allow people using phones to take pictures. How would I share with my friends if a wig fits right on me. Third .. this is very serious. Rude cashier. I went to pay and ask the cashier what is the term edges used for and she replied: edges are edges . Then she gave me all my purchase of about ten products in a super tiny bag. I went to pay to another store thirty minutes later and I realized I left my wallet at Beauty 4U. I went back to the same cashier and she denied seeing my wallet and in a rude way told me it was not there and to go check outside. I told her to bring the manager and asked to check my receipt for time. She still argue about my wallet not being at the store. For my surprise, she suddenly found it under her belongings when I asked the manager to verify the security cameras to see what happened while I was there. She was obviously trying to keep it. I told the manager about the situation and he did not seen to care. I also realized by reading the other reviews that people complaint about the manager being racist. I agree. I am Latin and I felt like what I was saying did not matter to him. This isn't it! Not this location. I went to purchase 4 packs of braiding hair, and 3 other small items (all under $10.00). The total came to over 400.00 and that was with a 20% discount. Needless to say, I refused to pay that amount because one of the workers kept changing the price of the braiding hair and the total kept getting higher and higher. I was happy about this store opening in Woodbridge since the one on the other side of Potomac Mills had such a limited selection. I would travel to Oxon Hill MD to purchase full lace wigs. At first, I wasn't impressed but my 2nd visit I was happy to see Jessie who worked at the MD location now at the Woodbridge store. Love, Love, Love her! I agree with the other reviewers about some of the staff not all, but I never deal with them. If Jessie is not there, I simply walk back out the door. The associates are very young, you can tell its just a "job" to them. This location is VERY pricey, items are marked up by 1-2 dollars more than you would find at other beauty supply stores, or Wal-mart, Target, etc. I don't really know about their weave, I don't wear it, and all my clients purchase online. Braiding hair prices are okay, I think they marked them down, and they had a sale (1st time I ever seen it) last time I purchased it. I am writing this because I am in the process of trying to return an item and I have been given the run around for a few weeks now. I have filled out the campliant form and after the hair was sent for analysis, I am asked to come in again and pick up the hair and told they can not do anything for me. I was sent to the manufacturing company customer service. I was given the wrong number. After finding the right one I called and talk to a girl at "shake n go", named Jenny at customer service. She exchanges calls with the store and she informs me the store was going to give me store credit. I go I. Today and they refuse to give it to me, claiming they never talked about such things. They were rude, talking in another language right in front of me as if I was not there. Then they just ignored me. I have NEVER received such horrible customer service in my life !!! The store was no help. I was made to feel like a beggar, invaluable, nuisance. He refused to give me his superiors number or name. I have this on video also. It should not have to be this hard.
