I'll start with the positive. The ingredients are always really fresh tasting. I order online and go in to pick my salads up, and the online ordering is really easy. The employees who help me are always nice. Even though the salads are pricey, you get a large portion. Now for the reason I gave it 3 stars tonight. For the first time my salad was made wrong. I asked for double toppings on an item and just got a meh amount. They also put peas on my salad. I can't stand peas, and had to spend 10 mins. picking them out of my salad. It's not a huge deal really...but not something I felt like doing either. I also asked for the dressing to be tossed in, and they put it on the side. They didn't put the cilantro & red beans on there either. Again, not the end of the world, but I want what I want. The artichokes on my boyfriend's salad weren't chopped up at all, and the tough bottom parts were in there. Also, he barely got any banana peppers. They also put the stem part of the banana pepper in there. I'll definitely go back, because they're normally so good. I am absolutely disgusted because I always eat at Salata's when I went to this location the girl was texting on her phone with her gloves on she was waiting for I guess one of her other coworkers to come attend me but she ended up helping me, she put her phone in her back pocket and continues to serve me with her hand not using the utensils/ tongs. I was immediately disgusted but I didn't say anything because I'm not the type but then I went to the next section and someone Else attended me but she went right back to touching her phone which was the gross part there's so much bacteria and this girl is touching food with the same gloves on and touching your personal phone. This place is normally my go too. But with Covid they have done absolutely nothing. They have the signs but force everyone down there the line like cattle then proceed to get mad at you when you try to social distance the line. I'll come back to this place after Covid is over. Tried out Salata in Katy about a month ago and have gone multiple times since! I've yet to see ingredients looking less then perfectly fresh. Best of all the customer service is top notch. Especially Ivan. Gisele and Rochelle (hoping I got the names right ) are very friendly and funny as well. All around great staff and healthy salad bar with tons of options and high quality protein. If you want a different salad dressing ask Ivan and he'll mix you up a delicious mixture to sample. read more

Overall the food is great. There are two problems I have with the place. One is the service. Extremely slow. They are literally never organized to keep the line flowing at a steady rate. One person is at the front and he moves with one person all the way down the line and then stands around for someone else to help the next customer. It's awful. We've timed the lines from standing next to the door all the way through checkout and it's upwards of 45 minutes every time. This is a simple logistics issue that a diligent manager should be able to handle. Second is the amount of food. The first few times right after it opened the bowls were so full of food that you could easily take half home for another meal. For the price you pay that was great. Suddenly they've become stingy. I mean worse than subway stingy. You get three olives or a few pieces of tomato. If I'm going to stand in line and pay for a bowl of rabbit food, give me a decent serving. It's ridiculous. AND when you ask for more every single server I've had there has given me a nasty look. Great food, horrible slow service and stingy portions. read more

The food is good but: we arrived tonight Dec 28 at 6:45. It was 7:23 when we got thru the line to be able to sit at a table. We inquired about the bread that they usually have and we're told they were out. Too bad, tough luck, no apology, no price adjustment. The salads are delicious, since they are basically custom made from start to finish. BUT their prices are WAY too expensive for a regular sized caesar salad. Mine came out to $12 and I didn't even add a avocado ($1 extra) or a drink. There are so many other food options for $12-$15 range. read more

I have become addicted to Salata! So many options and a good filling meal. My review is solely based on the efficiency at this particular Salata. The people are friendly and the food is good but waiting 30 minutes plus in line is not cool. I've gone at multiple different times and it doesn't matter, I will still be waiting about that long. One problem is honestly us (the customer), sometimes we take too long to decide and then order one salad for there and about 5 to go. I feel like the other problem is the staff, in that they just don't keep it moving very quickly and some become a little too chatty. Don't get me wrong I very much appreciate a friendly group of people but when I've been waiting in line for 20 minutes and your talking to the customer about how your ex girlfriend used to live in the same place as them, I get a little frustrated. When my body begins to rebel against my stuffing it with cheeseburgers, pizza, donuts and fried chicken this is where I go. I used to go to the one on the Energy Corridor but it's a little inconsistent and the staff are always different. Luckily this one is closer to home. I can't comment on the staff or the amenities at this brand new location as I haven't yet visited myself (I have an amazing wife). So this review will be for the food only. I ordered a large shrimp salad with all of my usual suspects; mixed lettuce, carrots, cucumber, broccoli, olives, feta, shrimp and many other additions mixed with avocado and buttermilk ranch dressing. The salad was huge. Bigger and even fresher than what I'm used to over at the Energy Corridor location. The server put the dressings on the side for take-out to avoid making the ingredients soggy. They also put the sesame sticks in a separate bag (I love sesame sticks). There is an option for bread but they never toasted it properly at Energy Corridor so it always just seemed stale. So many different flavours make this crunchy, creamy salad my favourite and it's definitely the most delicious option for lunch or dinner when your body is crying out for something that isn't deep fried. I'm so tired of coming to this location and getting an attitude for not wanting enough ingredients for my wrap. WHAT? This location is notorious for being stingy already because it's owned by a franchisee and it's not a corporate location. I come to this location because it's convenient and close to my house. When I go in I always get the same thing. A wrap with just Chipotle chicken and cheese ( Willing to spend $11 on something that I can go to Chipotle for) and I don't like them to cut the wrap because I know they don't wipe the knife down as regularly as they should. I would prefer not to have beet juice and ranch all over my wrap after it being cut. I just went in a few minutes ago to get my usual and this old Hispanic woman was pissed because I didn't have shit in my bowl but cheese and meat? Like seriously what? Every time I'm in there you're getting mad at customers for asking for more toppings like you own the place. So now we are damned if we ask for too much and damned if we don't ask for enough? It was approximately 5:30pm, my husband and I just walked into this location and as we tried to order our salads the offensive odor of Clorox overpowered everything! Behind the counter, and scrubbing away, was an employee apparently trying to remove mold from the baseboard! The woman behind us complained and the server just ignored her! I asked to speak to the manager and they pointed to the cashier... I approached her and asked why they were doing that during opening hours? I told her we would have to drive to their other location but that I intended to call corporate... she informed me that this was a franchise? No wonder! She took my name and number so that the district manager could call me. Then she said the "area director" was in the store if I wanted to speak to him! I waited and met with him... he didn't apologize or offer any excuse as to why they decided to scrub baseboards right where food is being served? Salata in general is good...lots of choices to make your own salad and enjoyable. Their proteins are a little bit pricey though. The place itself tends to be pretty clean and you're in and out fairly quickly. Also, the staff are pretty efficient. So why a 2-Star? I asked that my salad be put into two to-go containers instead of one and the cashier said that if she did that, she'll have to charge me double!!! Essentially what I was asking for was an extra container and she said (with an attitude) that she'll have to charge me double. That make zero sense both logistically and it definitely makes zero business sense. She needs a course on customer service for her attitude and if that's a company policy, then they should highly re-think keeping it! read more

We love Salata and normally eat in. Tonight, I was tired, so we decided to order on line. I was incredibly disappointed in the size of my small salad. I probably got 2/3 of what I get when we eat in. Very disappointed. I was excited for the order online option, but now not so much. Other times, the customer service has lacked. Once, when my husband asked for more of a particular cheese, (he had the regular salad) he was told no, that is all they put on. Really? I know salad bar work is hard, but at least a smile on your face. Also, speaking to each other in another language is like whispering. I felt like they were saying stuff about me. Pros: It was nice to have a salad bar experience without the DIY aspect (DIY salad bars can get pretty disorganized/gross as the day progresses). They have lots of lovely veggie, fruit, and fun topping choices to dress up your meal. The patio seating is nicer than most in the area. Cons: Even getting there early, the line moves slow. I can only imagine what service would be like during the lunch rush. Given the rising cost of food, the prices seem fair but are a bit higher than I might usually pay for a "fast casual" lunch. Finally, and this is not related to Salata specifically, the parking and road access to/from this location is poor. This shopping center is packed full of businesses without considering the traffic patterns. While I enjoyed my lunch with a friend, it's unlikely that I'd go back alone or suggest it to a friend with all the other choices in the area. read more

I am a HUGE Salata fan. But this location is not up to par. None of the workers understood anything I was asking them. I almost had to shout to stop a worker from putting lemon vinegarette instead of herb, and she still looked a little confused. Another one tried to put my pine nuts on the salad behind mine 3 times. It took me and the lady behind me to explain which salad was mine. The salata mix was full of romaine, and the seafood mix had basically all krabmeat. I could have just got the krabmeat if that's what I wanted. When I asked about it the worker just stared at me and said "you no wanted this one?" I had to just say nevermind because the conversation was obviously going nowhere. This makes me sad because I was so excited for this Katy location, but employees clearly need more training before serving customers. read more

This place has become super popular with the young crowd so I though I would give it a try. I can't exactly say what I ordered, but you know it was salad with chicken and light Italian dressing. They have metal mixing bowls that keep the salad bowl nice and cold. But when you mix the salad in the bowl and then serve it in the mixing bowl you kind of make a mess on the outside the bowl and it gets a bit messy when you try to hold the bowl still. It has a round bottom so it spins a little. But you know the salad as fresh and crunchy and the ingredients were nice and fresh. I believe this place will be truly good if you use ingredients you wouldn't think would taste good. In my opinion the more colorful a salad the better it's going to be. I enjoyed it you know it was good. But it wouldn't hurt if the employees had a smile man they looked sad. read more

I got food poisoning from this restaurant they always mess up my order. I think the shrimp was not at the correct temperature and the lettuce had some bacteria in it. When we called and we're going to report to the manager he said that a few people called Complaining about a amdominal issues and then proceeded to tell us we are not used to eating salad. I went Saturday night at around 8:45 with a friend, ordered 2 big bowls of salad and a tomato basil soup. It was our first time going to a Salata so we didn't know what to expect. Lets just say I will never come back to this location. After spending almost $30 for everything, I go back home to find that I had none of my salad dressing in the bag. I found that was odd because the manager had put the dressing in the to-go cups for us. Not to mention he was constantly answering the phone while he was serving us. I live about 15-20 mins away and called them at 9:25. I had to call twice for anyone to answer. The manager answered, I told him that I did not have my dressing in the bag. He told me that he would refund me money with the card I paid with, but I paid in cash. Not only that but he did not give me a receipt for the transaction because he was too busy answering the phone. He then said that he would give me a gift card when I came back and that he would tell the other manager Miguel about the incident. I said ok that's fine, I would come back tomorrow to pick it up along with the dressing that they forgot to give me. I go back Sunday morning at 11 before I went to work (which is out of the way) so I can have my salad for lunch since I was unable to eat it for dinner. I went in, asked for Miguel. While the employee got the manager for me, I asked the other employee to pour dressing into the to-go cup for both of the salads. Miguel comes out, I tell him exactly what happened and that the manager from last night said that I can come and pick up a gift card along with my salad dressing. Miguel looking confused said that he was unaware of the situation and it wasn't written in their book of complaints. He said that he could not help me until the other manager tells him about it. He told me to leave my name and number so someone can call me back about what they are going to do. I get a call back today, Monday while at work. I believe the guy's name was Eddie, told me that the manager from the other night did not say that he would give me a gift card. I asked him if he could call me back in a hour and half. He told me that he couldn't because he was about to leave his office. That was very inconsiderate, my job is not important to him but him going home is. So I told him, you can forget about the incident because I won't return back there. I'm very disappointed in my first experience with Salata, not only that their inconsiderate managers.
