Better than ever, and all vegan this year. So restaurants had to stretch a bit if they wanted to be…read morethere. Incredible speakers like journalist Will Potter, author Victoria Moran, and the owner of Vegan Treats. More animal rescue/advocacy groups were here this time. You had to fight to be close to the large Vegan Treats tent. We missed the Cinnamon Snail truck with their tender maple bourbon donuts but were charmed by the Pizza Wagon: the best one had cauliflower puree, roasted potatoes, rosemary, and onion, OMG. We will plan better next year to get in on more cooking demonstrations -- you can get full with the samples they hand out. This festival is free, and oh the parade of gorgeous dogs. I paid to get in the pen with piglets of Ross Mill Farm and enjoyed every second of it, even being nibbled because I had just had pizza in my hand. Saw friends from several counties. Just a wonderful friendly vibe. We left with takeout and wish it had gone on longer, Another good thing is that vendors actually stay until the end and don't pack up early. I see this expanding. The world is changing for the good, although it can be hard to see sometimes with so much violence and war.

This was my second vegfest, after this year's inaugural Philly VegFest, and it did not disappoint…read more We got there about an hour in at noon, and the lines at Cinnamon Snail were starting to get bad but they moved very quickly. Thank goodness because we were starving, having not eaten in preparation for a day of VegFest binging. We split an apple turnover and a small spinach pie from the Snail while we waited for our two tempeh sandwiches. The sandwiches came out quickly and we split the Thai tempeh (very spicy but very tasty) and the kale and mustard tempeh (very tasty as well). Both were served on very good millet bread. I would have prefered a little more variety, maybe one on a baguette or something, but overall I was incredibly satisfied. Not too full for more food though! I also noshed on a a bite of a pretzel-shaped sweet and salty doughnut from Vegan Treats, who had an absolutely wonderful spread of desserts. The doughnut was just ok, I took home two lemon bars that were out of this world good. Finally, I split a vegan cheesesteak empenada with my husband; it was pretty bland. However, it was great to have so many options to try all in one place. I also purchased two items of clothing: one festival T-shirt in a gorgeous periwinkle color. The T had a cool saying on the front and a pretty logo on the back, but it's just a boring straight T, I would've prefered a fancy organic washed out cotton. I may have to alter it when I get home, turn it into a boat neck or something like the refashionista (look her up!) Also purchased an absolutely gorgeous open neck turquoise, soft as butter sweatshirt that had a elephant herbivore logo. I'm in love with this item from Grape Cat. Luckily they accepted Visa because I was running out of cash fast at this fest!

What a wonderful discovery!…read more We visited Dharma Bums for dinner during a lovely day exploring the New Hope area, and what a delightful place to finish our adventure! The restaurant has a wonderful character all its own, with a charming, rustic atmosphere that makes the experience feel a little different from the ordinary dining-out routine. We especially appreciate discovering places that offer something unique, and Dharma Bums certainly fits that description. The creative vegetarian concept is a refreshing change of pace. It's the kind of place that adds something memorable to a day out, and we're delighted to have discovered it. A wonderful addition to the local dining scene and a place worth exploring! Great food and great service. We will definitely be back.

They serve vegetarian and vegan food. Flavor bombs throughout all of the shared plates we ordered. It's hard to pick a favorite between the peach salad, falafel, pizza and corn. Lots of free parking and they have a very cool event schedule. They have an amazing outdoor space that is perfect on a nice day. Lots of room for kids to play and they even had a ping pong table! Something to note is that I didn't realize this was not part of the New Hope/Lambertville part of town. It was about 20 minutes further out towards Point Pleasant where many go tubing! The restaurant, bar and outdoor are accessible to all, but if you have a problem with stairs, that is the only way to get to the upstairs space. I do have one suggestion. There were no vegan/vegetarian protein sources. Seitan, tofu and soya would be great additions and helpful to those looking for a higher protein option like me. Definitely a unique spot to check out if you get the chance. I hope to return again for some of their other cool events!

Three of us ordered Thai chicken and my wife ordered the Bangkok bowl. The ingredients were fresh and carefully selected, as the dish had a slightly sweet curry sauce on it. The chicken thigh was on top of a bed of short grain brown rice appropietly cooked for the dish. Veggies such as broccoli and eggplant were around the edges. The Bangkok bowl was slightly different as the samosas had a fair amount of heat to them. The waiter recommended mixing them with the rice and fried chickpeas, which worked well. For dessert, the rose and cardamom coffee glee had little rose flavor. I asked and they said it was infused as well as the garnish on top, but I failed to taste it. Ditto for the chocolate orange ganache, in which I could not taste the orange flavor. No points lost, the deserts were still better than average, not too sweet. Service was very good, the waiter loved to inform us of what to expect. Also, it was a good place for four of us to sit at a table and enjoy a conversation.

After having our GPS take us a ways around we got to Union Publik House and there were regulars in there already. There's a few tables and we were greeted warmly and since we were a group of five, took the larger table in the back by the kitchen. Our server was also friendly and helpful. He recommended the burgers but said just about everything we would order would be good and he was right. My wings were big and tasty, the burger we ordered was cooked as requested, the Ceasar salad was good but the chicken add-on was a bit overdone and dry, the other salad with add-on salmon was a nice big piece of fish that was quickly eaten, and the BBQ sandwich my kid had was gone in what seemed like seconds. We started with some mozzarella sticks which were fine, the pirogies were better than fine, and the homemade chips with salsa were also quickly eaten. Drinks were canned sodas at $3 each and I also had an unsweetened ice tea for the same price. I think you'll also like UPH for your lunch or dinner. We'd come back. $125 total including tax and tip for five people.
