Start of with charbroiled oyster. You can get it 3 ways. Oyster is not 100% fresh but it is 150 mile from the coast. It doesn't taste fishy so it pass. Chef did a good job grilling the oyster, good flavor with the garlic and parmesan. Prices are pretty good. $25 for 12 so about $2/ oyster. Fried catfish and shrimp is excellent. Catfish is well seasoned and very crunchy. Good portion. Hush puppies are very crunchy on the outside too. The fish and hush puppies are still crunchy even you order to go. The red bean and rice taste a little weird. First several bite is sour. I don't know. Not ordering that again. Service is great, they always check in on you. You sit yourself and someone immediately come up and bring you drinks.

I ordered 5 pounds of crawfish, 8 potatoes, 2 corn on the cob, and 4 sausages. My total ended up being $70.82, not in the least bit worth the price! Never in my life have a had a baby full of baby crawfish (literally babies), when I called and placed my order I wasn't given a disclaimer about the size of the crawfish or anything. Upon making it home I discovered a bag full of baby crawfish, not only were they super small, I had alot of crawfish heads in my bag, as if that wasn't enough ALL of the crawfish were OVERCOOKED! I called back and asked to speak to a manager and the female that answered the phone said ,"well that's because of the snow storm!" I haven't seen or heard of any other business selling overcooked baby sized crawfish to customers. I let the lady know that I still wanted to speak to the manager and she placed me on hold and hung up in my face. Unprofessional and rude. I immediately called back and the manager answered the phone, I told him that I ordered 5 pounds of crawfish and paid $70 only to get my bag and it be nothing but baby, overcooked crawfish in the bag. He was unapologetic and said that their was nothing he could do about the size, well how about warning people before they order? I asked what about my order being overcooked and mushy, he said ," for me to bring the crawfish back and he'd do his best to not overcook the new ones but the size wouldn't change." The other items were fine but, who's driving over 30 minutes for you to fix a order that should've been right in the first place? Just sad, save your money and go someplace else folks.

Hard shrimp, hard hush puppies, stale potato, what more could you want?

Sigh. Why. This review probably never had to happen but alas, here we are. First. Why. Why was the food so bad, careless, cold, and stale? Sal and Phil's used to be a restaurant that served delicious seafood, great sides and tasty salads and now... Not sure what that was. So let's be transparent, as usual, this was a takeout order and I ordered: Crabcakes with cocktail sauce and tartar sauce Salad with Italian dressing Shrimp basket with a baked potato and hush puppies Let's dive into it... The only good thing about this meal was the cocktail sauce and tartar sauce. Tasty, may be jarred, who knows. The crab cakes were horrible - cold and undercooked. They honestly tasted as though they were days old, being fishy and unseasoned. They were not crispy, they lacked anything resembling taste, and were just... wrong. The salad tasted like it was old, plastic, and was simply not fresh. The shrimp basket - guys, a baked potato is supposed to be baked, not microwaved over so that the inside is glassy and gluteny. The shrimp AND the hush puppies were hard and the shrimp were, for lack of a better term, ropey and stringy. These shrimp had to die for this meal. I feel bad for them. I am so disappointed, I don't even think you guys should get one star but here we are. Please, try and care about the food you actually send out. Good fish had to give up their little selves to be on plates so bad that it really was a fate worse than a bad fish fry. At this point I am trying to find the humor in this meal. Please, seriously, just do better. Thanks

I made my first visit to Sal And Phils for an early dinner Saturday evening. Place was pretty much empty given it was 4:15, so I seated myself. Waited about 5 minutes and my server, Emily B., brings me a menu and takes my drink order. I ordered the jumbo fried shrimp entree and picked the coleslaw and hushpuppies as my two sides. Didn't take long for my order to come out but the shrimp were fresh and hot. They were bigger than I anticipated, despite the menu calling them jumbo. I've learned lately with supply chain issues to just go with the flow as restaurants are trying hard to meet customers' demands. Shrimp were seasoned well and not over fried. The hushpuppies were good but got hard once they cooled off. The coleslaw could have been good but it had way too much pepper on it. I love black pepper but this was too much for me. I could only stand three bites of it before I called it quits. Service was good and I can see myself making a return trip to try other menu items.

Be sure to say hello to Emily !!

They never disappoint! Don't miss saying hello to Emily !! Oysters now and crawfish on the way

    Delicious shrimp!!

I had lunch here on Sunday October 20th. As usual, the service was excellent, and the meal was delicious! Keep up the great work.

i am throwing this restaurant my 5!! i was overall really impressed with the quality of food & excited about the comfortable ambience. SHOUTOUT TO PRESTON!!! came here on a late thursday night with a friend who loves this place. (it was my first time) & honestly was so so happy about how everything tasted. we started off with the charbroiled oysters with garlic & rosemary which were literally delicious! to die for, i could eat these for breakfast lunch & dinner! then! i ordered the sautéed garlic with a side of green beans. this dish was perfect for my tastebuds because i didn't have to add any additional flavor everything was just melting in my mouth. my friend ordered a boat of crawfish, & these were nice size & delicious !! had so much fun eating here i will be back to get crawfish & more delicious seafood

    Stuffed flounder. Everything was horrible.

But this one was just right for me. I feel like you could show up after a round of golf and it would be cool. That's as long as you don't have swamp ass, LOL. Inside is well lit and airy. There are lots of windows and it's quite comfortable. Our server was great. So good in fact, I have no recollection of them or the service. That's strange. Nothing. I can't even remember if they were male or female?!?!? I do however remember my food. We started with crab claws. They were darn tasty. Nice lemon flavor to the batter and the sauces were great accompaniments. Would recommend! For dinner I chose the Prime Chile Rubbed Flank Steak. Gosh damn was it good! Perfectly cooked, seared well, and still medium rare inside! The sauce was fantastic as well and the fresh cut Parmesan fries were a stupendous addition to the dish! I loved the whole damn thing!!! The spinach was quite unique and very good. It was like crispy sautéed of something. I must have made some noises that my dinner companion had to know about because he ate a couple slices of my steak after I was done. I thought about dessert but the boys didn't want to help so maybe next time!! I will come back here. I hope this meal was not a fluke!! I can't stop thinking about that damn steak!! '26 - 40

After a successful purchase and a hemorrhaging from my credit card, we opted to celebrate the occasion with a meal. And Lo and behold Table 100 was just across the street from where we were. Ambiance 4 Stars - as you walk into the establishment, you are transported back where the warm wood interior, cozy white table cloth tables or booths, high end bar drinks, and classy servers in their white or black attire are waiting to serve you. There plenty of tables and booths to seat a plentiful of patrons. And if you need a little bit more private, you can request a private room depending how many are in the party. 4.5 Stars - Service: our server, Andrew was wonderful, professional and has a great sense of humor. We bantered throughout our dinner but the conversation never crossed over to make anyone uncomfortable. He was observant of our needs and when to bring our next course. Our glasses stayed full with our beverage. 4.25 Stars - Food We ordered from the dinner menu instead of lunch due to our timing at 3:00. Let's just call it "Linner". Haha. 4 Stars - Grilled Swordfish- My wife ordered the dish and came with a decent size grilled swordfish fish, sauté spinach, creamed mash potatoes, and a beurre blanc sauce (lemon, butter and dry white wine). The swordfish was thick and moist; not dry at all. The beurre blanc balanced the bland spinach and the seasoned swordfish. The creamed potatoes were creamy, buttery's and not too salty. 3.75 Stars - Pan seared Redfish with cube fried potatoes, sauté green beans, beurre blanc sauce and top w a Chilean tomato salsa. The redfish was moist and tasty but I wish it had a little bit seared on it for a crunchy factor. The cubed potatoes were good but nothing to write about. The fresh sauté green beans could have a bit more garlic butter. 3.5 Stars Side dish: Deep Fried Brussel Sprouts. Hot, steamy and fresh. Has a slight crunch on the exterior leaves and was seasoned w a sprinkle of salt. 3.75 Dessert: Crème Brûlée and coffee. The crème brûlée crust was crunchy and the vanilla egg custard was good and smooth. It would have been better was a scoop of fresh whipped cream to go with the fresh fruit and crunchy layer. 5 Stars - French pressed Italian coffee. The coffee was a highlight of the dessert. It was hot, fresh, and strong. Just like an Italian coffee should be. It was between an espresso and caffe' Americano. Our, server, Andrew did a wonderful job on the coffee! I definitely recommend this place and we will be back. Don't forget to ask for Andrew, if he is available.
