VEGETABLE YAKI UDON

the worst dinner i ever had! i ordered the vegetable yaki udon and shrimp shumai. the shumai was soggy little balls of dough with shrimp flavor, disgusting. the only vegetables in the udon were onions, peapods and a few sprigs of broccoli, and i mean very few sprigs which is very unusual and the udon was so salty it couldnt be eaten, total waste. uber eats wouldnt refund for this issue so i was out dinner as well as my money. never again.

I love this place. Order from here at least once a week. Order direct from their website to save their exorbitant fees to DoorDash and Uber Eats! I like their soft shell crab, fried oysters, lobster roll and all their combo plates. It's dirt cheap. Look it's not Nobu and we are nowhere near the waters where these fish would come from but I've never gotten sick from eating their raw stuff. It's great for what it is. Think normal Chinese takeout spot but Japanese food instead. It's much better than the average mom and pop Chinese takeout place though. It's just nice to get sushi and not break the bank. Their Tokyo fried chicken is really good. Salmon and chicken teriyaki. I even like their little side salad. You can act like a rich person and order a ton of sushi pieces for like $25! Tip them! They're nice and they're fast. You can tell they work dang hard. Thank you staff and chefs.

Ooof do i regret giving this place a shot. I ordered the any 3 roll lunch special came out to 13.88. I got the salmon avocado- which was fine, shrimp tempura which was okay, and the spicy tuna which was COMPLETELY inedible, and a ginger ale. 6 pieces per roll, rolls were small. Thoroughly unimpressed, service was fast and the food was cheap but it wasn't good. Nice that there is indoor seating though! Will not be returning. Full disclosure I meant to order from the other place farther down on nostrand, will give that place a shot next.

Did an order from a popular app. The food is excellent! Nice portions, excellent presentation and all around excellent quality ingredients. Definitely would recommend ordering from this restaurant and I would definitely try visiting their location. Their rolls and tempura were amazing and the beef teriyaki was delicious and tender which is not always the case with most restaurants. Will definitely be ordering again in the future.

This place is my go-to for sushi. I typically order the salmon avocado, salmon tempura roll and the philly roll! Also ordered miso soup and edamame. Everything was $30. They also have a good variety of other rolls but i stick to my favorites. 10/10 recommend.

I'm really not sure about all the negative reviews. The prices are unbeatable and the sushi was really good. I was so scared of the negative reviews but I didn't get sick and I love the sweet potato tempura roll. My friend got the special roll and it was 10 pieces for 6.95 it's unreal. I definitely had a great experience.

Great spot by Nostrand & Atlantic Ave! They also make everything super quickly when I order for takeout. The platters are a good deal and the fish is great quality.

I ordered delivery from seamless. I've heard the sushi was good but I was in the mood for chicken teriyaki so I gave it a chance.. don't do it! The chicken was dry, did not have teriyaki flavor or sauce on it. The fried rice wasn't good, loaded with cabbage and pieces of broccoli. No onion, egg, barely any soy sauce. I do not recommend this place. If you decide to try it don't expect too much.

Salmon combo, salmon tempura bento, soft shell crab, and stir fry beef udon
Kenny C.

Girlfriend and I ordered delivery here and it came promptly. Sushi was fresh and the bentos are pretty big in size. The soft shell crab wasn't very crunchy though..one other thing I wish they did was put more of a seperator between the cold and the hot food.

We were pleasantly surprised at how beautiful the small, intimate space of Che was. Despite the small size, the restaurant has table, bar and outside seating, so you can't go wrong. We chose to sit inside and were warmly greeted by the server who made recommendations and allowed us to try the weekly wines. If you're a vinophile with a funky palette, this is a must. I had a skin contact wine while my partner had the jungle bird cocktail which was INCREDIBLE. We then shared the sardine dish, which was served on fresh, crunchy sourdough covered in smooth, melt in your mouth ricotta, and the tuna crudo, which left us feeling full yet refreshed. The olive oil in this dish was the unexpected star, adding a rich yet not overpowering element to the fresh vegetables and tuna. I absolutely need to come back for their day menu and to see the staff again as our server was so nice and attentive! A great place for a casual, elevated bite and fun drinks.

I can prove my Haitian ethnicity by cooking traditional dishes. The legume was on point! That dish was my favorite. My friend truly enjoyed her salmon. Honestly, I wish I had gotten the salmon to take home instead of the Haitian fried chicken. Now, that wasn't that great to me, and I didn't enjoy it :( I'm still giving them all the stars and all the props because I really appreciated the service. This was my first time trying a Haitian patty with spinach, and it was absolutely fantastic. I think it's even better than the chickpea one. I would definitely highly recommend this place and also go back. But the Haitian fried chicken need to be better. Still, I'll definitely come again and try the salmon next time!!!

I ordered the vegan platter whose black beans were smooth and piping hot, alongside the crispy fried tostones and meaty vegan meatballs. In fact the meatballs were so meat-like that neither my sister nor my husband could belief that they were made of jackfruit. The white rice was also extremely fluffy and moist and judging by the diligent rice-washing that was taking place behind the counter as we ate, I could tell that the staff really works hard to make it not just an afterthought, but a quality addition to the meal. My sister also really enjoyed her shrimp plate while my husband devoured his half-chicken platter. The sauces on our platters were also extremely flavorful, complementing the proteins in a beautiful way. All of us left Lakou Cafe feeling happy and satisfied with the portion sizes and level of quality. 10/10 I will definitely be heading back to this place the next time I'm in Brooklyn!

When I tried it, the overall taste was nutty and mushroom-forward. Does it taste like beef? Not really. It's more like a lightly seasoned, spongy mushroom patty with hints of the creamy cashew "cheese" and dressing. The burger is a bit messy and tends to fall apart, so you'll want to eat it over something or wrap it in plastic or parchment. Alternatively, you can order it as a wrap, including a gluten-free option for just $1 more. Honestly, I think the wrap might be the better choice over the burger bun. I also tried the chili, which had a distinct split pea flavor with plenty of beans and a nutty undertone. The potato salad was creamy, made with diced potatoes that were lightly seasoned. It wasn't particularly memorable, but it was fine. Overall, for $13, the meal was decent. I don't approach vegan food expecting it to mimic fast food; I look for quality and originality, and this place offers something that's passable. The vibe is very indie and hipster, with a sense that they put care and spirit into their food. I've walked past this place before--I even visited once with my sister to try the cornbread and chili, which were okay--so I figured I'd stop in again. The location has charm, but the food didn't leave a lasting impression. It's good for what it is, and I appreciate the effort, but nothing really stood out. I've read other reviews saying the quality was better pre-COVID, though I can't speak to that since I never ate here before the pandemic. If that's true, it makes sense. Would I come back? Maybe, but probably not on a budget. For what it is, though, it's worth trying if you're curious.

Nothing too special in taste, really bland, not even a hint of salt n pepper; even the pikliz didn't help. The Akra was good, and the sausage was good. Also, I got a side of black rice, and that also was just Ok. The food was hot, at least. I appreciate the delivery from bedstuy, but I don't think I would order from there again. I settled on Haitian food, and after some Googles I settled on Anmwey Eatery. The reviews were good and it was only a 5 minute drive from my mom's house. I ordered at the counter when I arrived. I knew I wanted griot (fried pork) with black rice, so that's what I ordered. They were busy, so my food took about 30 minutes to be ready. I was fine with the wait. The bar seats were comfy and I was on my phone. There was also loud reggae music playing from the other room, so I was jammin. I got home and dug into my food and it was almost perfect. The griot was delicious. Just crunchy enough on the outside and tender on the inside. The black rice was a little disappointing, but nothing major. I love black rice, but it lacked flavor. Luckily they give you a side of gravy, which was tasty. I should've taken the girl at the counter up on her offer to get an extra side of gravy. I still devoured everything though. It also came with fried plantain. I'm not a huge fan of unsweet plantain, but it was good when I added the picklez to it. Picklez is spicy, so tread lightly if you don't like heat. 5 stars for Anmwey. I will certainly return.

There's even a little outdoor space if you want to eat with the city humming around you. Now let's talk about the hospitality because who says you can't get it in NY? Miss V-my waitress- was everything. Attentive and effortlessly on point. The food is made to order, which matters, because this is a conversation place. A linger a little, laugh a little, feel at home kind of spot for us. Welcoming, local, and full of personality. But that food??? Honey... hush. HOT!!!!! Fresh, flavorful, and cooked with intention. Looking for a carnival themed island vibe with great cocktails and authentic Caribbean cuisine,…read morecome to Savannah Spiced located in Brooklyn Here's what we had Drinks Sorrel Punch - The Sorrel Punch is a smooth, creamy cocktail that puts a Caribbean twist on the classic frozen piña colada. Instead of pineapple, it features the bold, tangy flavor of sorrel. Blended with coconut cream and rum, it's rich, refreshing, and full of island flavor. Def a fave and it tastes as good as it looks! Sexy lady - The Sexy Lady is a light but strong fruity cocktail that mixes the fresh taste similar to a lychee martini with the sweet, floral flavor of elderflower and juicy tropical fruits. It's smooth, fun, and a little flirty. We enjoyed this so much that we found ourselves guessing the ingredients! Sweet chili wings and Oreo waffle- The waffle batter was rich and delicious, with that classic cookies-and-cream taste shining through. I just wish it had been a bit crispier and more golden brown--that's my personal preference. Still, the flavor was on point. The wings were the real star perfectly cooked with a sweet, tangy, and spicy glaze that hit all the right notes. Altogether, it was a fun and tasty twist on sweet and savory. Chicken and Birthday Cake Waffle- The waffle had a sweet, cake-like taste with colorful sprinkles mixed in, and the batter was really tasty. I do wish it had been a bit crispier and more browned to give it that perfect texture, but the flavor made up for it. The fried chicken on top was juicy and well-seasoned, adding a savory balance to the sweet waffle. Overall, it was a creative and satisfying take on a classic sweet-and-savory combo. Appetizer Jerk wings- Hands down the favorite of the meal. They were packed with bold flavor--spicy, savory, and just the right amount of heat. The seasoning was spot on and the wings were cooked to the perfect texture. Every bite was juicy, flavorful, and left you wanting more. A true standout. We also can't forget the special sauce on the side--creamy and slightly sweet, it paired nicely with the wings and helped balance the heat. That said, the wings were so flavorful on their own, they didn't even need it. Entrees The Calypso Shrimp- Was beautifully presented as a standout dish. The shrimp were perfectly cooked, juicy, and coated in a sweet and spicy secret sauce that had just the right kick paired with creamy garlic mashed potatoes. It wasn't a fave but the presentation made up for it! Oxtail Low Mein - Beautifully plated in an abstract bowl. The Oxtail Lo Mein was a flavorful fusion dish that delivered more heat than I expected--but in a good way. The noodles were coated in a rich, savory brown sauce, and the oxtail was incredibly tender, falling off the bone. Each bite was packed with bold flavors, especially the deep notes of ginger and soy. The spice gave it an extra kick, making it a comforting yet exciting twist on classic lo mein.
