I mean, how much can one complain about $20 AYCE sushi or $30 with nigiri? Regardless of good pricing, I won't be back. Quality is poor, fish is bottom of the barrel as expected, only yellowtail and salmon were pretty edible. Rolls were doused in gross sauces to cover up poor quality. I'm shocked people eat here. Most grocery store sushi is higher quality. There just isn't enough to sustain a sushi lover over one visit. There are plenty of places for $30 for nigiri that are far, far, better. I'd rather pay the $20. This place was pretty gross and I frequent AYCE joints in CA and have fairly low standards. We started with most of the basic items first like salmon and tuna and yellow tail and white tuna and spicy tuna nigiri to test things out. Then we moved on to a few of the rolls like the Out of Control Roll* (8pcs) (Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, avocado, topped with spicy mayo and eel sauce). We also had the salmon avocado roll. We also had the Yellowtail Roll too. We tried the Pork Cutlet Udon and it was alright. The soup was quite salty and tasted like soy sauce. I used it instead of getting a miso soup or using soy sauce. The pork cutlet started off crispy but was soggy at the end. I would recommend trying to get them separately somehow if you wanted both. The noodles were okay but a little softer than expected. It had some mushrooms and broccoli and cabbage in it. While a good size it is best to get when you have at least two people sharing it. We also tried quite a few of their tempura like the asparagus and the eggplant and the shrimp and the scallop. The scallop was kind of like a chicken nugget but seafood flavored. Plus it had the texture of the inside of a California roll to me in the sense that it was soft and could be shredded easily. The shrimp was not deveined. The eggplant and asparagus tasted as one would expect. To end, we had the Green Tea Ice Cream (1 scoop) which tasted like a mixture of lime sorbet and green tea ice cream. We were a little skeptical that AYCE sushi in the desert could be good, but we were so glad we took a shot to try it. The decor inside is colorful and modern with murals of Japanese art and beautiful canvas art. The staff was attentive and friendly and always on the move to deliver your orders to the table swiftly. Friendly staff, very helpful as we had a baby with us, and new parents first time out with her-lol. After some adjustments we got settled, great seating arrangements for large groups. Plenty of seating to keep the wait short & a mention of a two hour limit which helps. Love the murals and setting, clean restrooms. You are given a ordering menu and a pencil, you select what you want and the quantity. Word of caution, once it starts coming it stays coming, do not let your eyes outperform your stomach. Try one of each to see how tastes to start, we enjoyed everything and had no problem finishing what we asked for. You have a little something for everyone, from sushi to everything fried, rice, noodles, salad, and ice-cream Around $30 per person, which once you think about it is a pretty good deal compared to ordering that amount of sushi and food anywhere else. Hands down the most affordable yet tasty AYCE sushi experience I've had. Parking lot was spacious and we were immediately seated during lunch time. The lunch price was $18.99 per person and they took our order via sheets. Next to each item, we indicated how many orders we wanted. There wasn't a limit to how much could come out at once. Selection was impressive with 163 available options, including appetizers, fried rice, udon, soba and ice cream. The drink menu was reasonably priced and sake centric as opposed to beer and wine. The owner was incredibly nice and constantly came to check on us and give recommendations. The servers were a bit disorganized since the tables weren't properly labeled but the food came out quickly so we didn't mind. =GET= *Yakitori: an amazingly seasoned chicken skewer. Had a sweeter marinade that wasn't overwhelming and the chicken was tender and juicy. *Seaweed Salad *Sweetheart Roll: contained spicy tuna, tuna and eel sauce. One of the best ordered rolls. Had adorable heart presentation and the tuna was soft. Spicy tuna wasn't overly spicy. *Tuna Jalapeño Roll: classic tuna roll with an extra kick. *Nigiri: yellowtail was excellent and not fishy at all. Every piece came on warm rice and the ratio of rice and fish was generous. Great cuts and they didn't skimp on the fish. *Miso Soup: not very salty and came with lots of tofu and green onions. *Ice Cream: had green tea, vanilla and butter pecan. All scoops were creamy and not overly sweet. Favorite had to be the fragrant green tea. *Hana Awakening Sake: ordered peach and yuzu and both were refreshing. Very little alcohol presence. =PASS= *Deep Fried Scallop: scallop was a bit rubbery. Tempura batter was very light and contributed only crunch. *Chicken Teriyaki: doesn't come with rice and the chicken wasn't cooked in teriyaki sauce. It was cooked separated and was presented with teriyaki sauce on top. *Eel Cucumber Roll: so much rice and barely any eel. Wished there was some grilled flavor or smokiness to balance out the overload of eel sauce. Primarily tasted like cucumber with sweet rice. Although there were some hiccups with the ordering system, the seafood quality and selection blew me out of the water.
