They offer a discounted lunch menu as well as daily specials. Most of our party ordered ramen and I opted for teriyaki salmon which was served with steamed white rice & came with choice of miso soup or salad; and we shared a couple Godzilla rolls. I don't recommend. Very expensive for very mediocre food. We got teriyaki chicken which was extremely dry and tough and pork katsu which came with a small dish of sauce. We asked for extra sauce and we were charged an extra $1.50... I've never encountered a sit down restaurant charging for more sauce. Rice was very dry, the grains crumbled when I tried to pick them up with my chopsticks. Speaking as an Asian... they are not even making rice correctly. It's either dry or old or both. Oh and the miso soup was lukewarm to cold... not sure if it was sitting out but that is not good. The chirashi bowl was okay, no complaints there. Red dragon roll was okay, they were having a discount on Red Dragon rolls so we decided to try it but when our check came they still charged full price. We had to clarify and asked them to fix the bill, which to their credit they did. Service wise, the lady (maybe the owner) was not friendly at all. She seemed not very happy to see us or serve us. This place, unfortunately, failed to impress me. Here is how my takeout order went today. A good size sushi restaurant. The elaborate wallpaper and wall art inside were a bit too over-the-top and yet, I can simply say that they paid attention to create what the restaurant names says it: Sakura. It's pretty much pink. Each table is also beautifully done on the surface with Sakura art. Kind of cute. Service - Good. The lady who greeted me asked me "How many?" to which I said "To go, please." She immediately handed me the laminated menu so I can mark with a pen and the regular menu booklet. From the moment I gave her my order and the moment I got my food, there was only 5 minutes or less time that elapsed. I was a bit shocked how quickly they prepared my food (she said I was the first person to place an order for the night. Well, Whereas I am not complaining about the fast service, it was suspiciously too fast!!) Mistake - As soon as I got home, I opened the bag. The kitchen or possibly the lady who got my order made a mistake by giving me the miso soup instead of salad (miso soup or salad comes with the Sashimi Dinner ($32.00 as of mid-August of 2025). I clearly and loudly said I wanted the salad but in her mind, the salad became the miso soup (LOL). Although I don't think it was intentional, mistake is a mistake. A bit disappointed....Well, you wanna know how the miso soup tasted? It was decent! Food - What I got tonight are/were...1) Sashimi Dinner, Edamame ($6.00) and, 3) Side White Rice ($3) and I think in this kind of economy, these prices are fairly in range. Let me rate each one. Sashimi Dinner - It was okay-ish. It didn't impress me. I really don't have anything more to say about this sashimi plate. Edamame - Good and yet they didn't sprinkle any salt (I don't think). Maybe they knew I hate salt (LOL!!) Well, in many cases, I dislike salty dishes so to be considerate of people who dislike salty stuff, this is what the restaurant does by not sprinkle any salt over steamed edamame (so in other words, "salt it yourself" type situation?) I guess this isn't a bad thing after all. White Rice - Meh. It tasted like hand lotion a little bit. I have an experience with this and that is why I am very sensitive to it (unfortunately, it was my own mother who used hand lotion before she prepared food/meals for me and my brother so some food she cooked/prepared for us tasted just like hand lotion.) I can have a benefit of the doubt that they wouldn't be so insensitive by handling food with lotioned-up hands. Or maybe it's the kind of rice they buy. Whatever the case may be, this rice was no no for me. Yes, there are a few things I can talk about this restaurant in a positive way but all in all, it was a disappointing experience. Will I go back? This was a really cool sushi spot hidden between multiple apartment complexes. This isn't a sushi restaurant you would stumble across. You'd have to seek it out. We took a chance and were not disappointed. We had a light early dinner here and ordered just the rainbow dinner. It came with a variety of nigiri and sashimi. It also came with a rainbow roll. It also came with some yummy miso soup. The presentation of all of their dinner combos were really creative and each of their tables had a different type of decor on it. The prices were really affordable for how fresh the sushi was and the servers were all very friendly and gave us some good suggestions. I will definitely be coming back to have their salmon lover sushi dish because their salmon was one of the best I've had in Denver so far! read more

I've been to Sakura a couple of times now, because it's a bit out of the way for me. But, I'm happy I found this sushi place. The fishes are fresh and the service is great. I took one star out, because the second time I visited, the rice wasn't great. It was too sticky and too dense, it was hard to eat. But the fishes were great and fresh! So, I ate a few of the rice and finished the fish only. Service has been great so far. The lady is friendly, but not too overly friendly to a point that it's awkward. She seems like a genuine person. The decor is definitely interesting and unique. Sakura themed, but somehow it works. The chef decided to gave us a couple of raw oysters on the house, and they were so so good! read more

Lunch time at Sakura Sushi was busy, but not packed. Similar to other sushi and ramen places in town, besides sushi and ramen, they also had varieties of appetizers, donburi and lunch boxes. The setting was low key, but welcoming with Japanese theme decor. Service was prompt. Ordered the sashimi omakase with 5 different kinds 20 pieces of sashimi, including tuna, salmon, yellowtail, white fish and snapper, and a cucumber wrapped sashimi roll. As they were having a BOGO special for toro, added that to complement the sashimi omasake. Besides these, also ordered the beef teriyaki lunch box. The taste and texture of the sashimi were good and enjoyable, while the beef teriyaki was within expectation. For less than $100, this was a pretty good deal. read more

Tiny, cute place with good food at good prices. Friendly, down to earth feel. I loved the thoughtful and creative decorations. First they brought out complimentary Thai tea. I doubt this is a regular thing, and probably happened because it was towards the end of the night and they are a new restaurant. The Thai tea was tasty. We ordered 2 omakase for $60 each. Very good value, when considering it comes with a 8-pc roll and 20 pc of sushi, where a couple pieces were uni. Very good value. The uni was from Japan. It was pretty good with no bitterness, but was just slightly lacking in flavor. The sushi rice was seasoned very well. I was impressed with that flavor the most. Unfortunately the rice was packed really hard in the nigiri. I prefer the rice to be a little less in quantity, and not packed so tightly for my nigiri. The fish itself was good quality, and cut well. The sushi chef definitely knows what he's doing with cutting fish. I would describe the food overall as, not best of best, but very nice. It is worth repeating though, sushi rice seasoning was very high rating for me. They brought out a complimentary mango "cheesecake". Again, probably because end of night and they are new. It was still frozen and needed to thaw, so it was not very pleasant. The ice crystals throughout kind of ruined it. The flavor was okay, but did not remind me of cheesecake at all. It was more like a frozen mango puree mousse cake or something. I want to give 3.75 star, but between 3 star and 4 star, it gets rounded up to 4. Less packing on rice and fancier fish (like blue fin, even if prices increase) would garner a 5 star from me. I will definitely be back a few more times over the coming months to see how they settle in. read more

This is by far the worst sushi I've ever had in Colorado. It tastes very fishy. The fish looks and tastes horrible. I cannot eat any of this sushi. I love sushi too, but this is just disgusting... The lobster tasted so fishy, I had to spit it out. The yellowtail doesn't even look appetizing. The tuna belly, which is a very expensive and delicious piece of the tuna belly, tastes horrible and chewy. We literally cannot eat any of what we ordered. Extremely disappointing, what a waste of food and money... Since I used DoorDash too I have no idea how to get a refund. Over $80 down the drain.... read more

Based on the strong ratings, my party of three chose Sakura Sushi for lunch. We left profoundly disappointed, still hungry, and questioning the validity of those reviews. We ordered a spread to sample the menu: seafood ramen, a bento box, and a variety of sushi. The problems began immediately when we were told the bento wasn't available on weekends--a direct contradiction to the menu which stated it was served on Saturdays. Once we received it, the bento was a letdown. Unlike most restaurants that include both, you must choose between soup or salad. The box itself was sparse: two shrimp and a few vegetable tempura pieces, three potstickers, a scoop of rice, and a small salad. The variety was absolutely minimal. The seafood ramen was inedible. The broth tasted like plain soy sauce diluted with water, completely lacking any depth of flavor. We left over half of it in the bowl. The sushi was the greatest offense. The avocado salmon and unagi rolls were embarrassingly small, no thicker than my thumb. The salmon skin roll was burnt to a crisp, giving it a brittle, pebble-like texture that was impossible to enjoy. The seaweed wraps was tough and chewy. Furthermore, and most egregiously, the sushi was made with long-grain rice--the completely wrong type of rice for Japanese cuisine. This was a first for me and an absolute deal-breaker. In short, the meal was a cascade of errors: misinformation, meager portions, poor execution, and fundamental technical mistakes. I was still hungry after spending a significant amount of money and had to eat again when I got home. I cannot recommend this restaurant and will not be returning. read more

The shasimi is so fresh and good and the price is very affordable compares to other sushi restaurants. Jason is a creative chef and he made us a kiwi banana sushi that is so good. He use good quality and fresh ingredients from Japan. Definitely will come back. read more

Sakura might quietly be the best sushi joint in the Denver metro. Run by a family who are veterans of the Denver sushi scene, the service is immaculate and incredibly friendly. They make us feel like old friends every time we come in! The fish is imported from Japan and incredibly fresh and delicious. The rolls are great, but I find myself going back to the simple nigiri every time. The hamachi/yellowtail in particular is to die for, melts in your mouth. Salmon, tuna belly, mackerel, red snapper...you can't go wrong. Big healthy cuts of delicious fish! Whenever they have a special (like fresh Japanese uni) they bring it out for us to try.
