    Tonkotsu Ramen

I wanted to like the food SO badly, but couldn't bring myself to finish it which is a shame considering the high ratings. I read through some reviews that claimed they know good ramen because they're from California. For reference, I'm from Southern Cali and my bf is from NY. We eat ramen all the time and this was not "it" for us. Sadly. We started with the gyoza which didn't taste very fresh. Kinda like the frozen ones you get at the store and steam. But I guess if you're trying to satisfy a gyoza craving and authentic spots are limited in Colorado, this probably will hold you over. We both ordered the tonkatsu ramen. I wanted mine spicy, so they gave me a little container of chili paste. I threw the whole thing in after tasting the broth because it tasted diluted. The chashu pork was charred on a grill and the smokiness of that really took over the broth. Like it should have just been called smokey ramen. I will mention the staff were *very* kind and if I were ever to come back I would say it would be for them.

This is probably the best ramen place I've ever visited. The ramen tasted hearty and delicious. The portion size we very generous. I ate until I was full and then had enough to eat for lunch the next day. The chicken karage was saucy and crispy. Service was kind and quick. The inside is fairly big with plenty of seating. I can't wait to go back and get the tonkatau shoyu ramen again!!

I came here because of the Yelp Check-In discount, and TOTALLY FORGOT to use it. So, if you're coming here, don't forget to check in on Yelp for 15% off the bill. :) I wasn't in the mood for ramen, so I ordered the salmon poke bowl and the chicken fried rice. The fried rice was good enough, and I liked the little bit of ginger that came with it. Personally, the best fried rice dishes have a little bit of ginger and this one was no different. The salmon poke bowl was large and filling. No avocado, but all of the other usual ingredients (and corn) were provided. Good for two to share as a main dish or an appie. Don't bring drinks in here - even if closed and sealed, they will yell at you and ask you to toss it or come back when you don't have them with you anymore. Service was otherwise not attentive, but I think they were understaffed and running between the kitchen and the dining area. Plenty of parking in the lot here. Located on Colorado Blvd in a bustling part of town. No wait for a weekend lunch.

We went in on Sunday and it was relatively quiet. Service was quick and the place is modern and clean inside. Ramen tasted good. Would go back in the future.

This place has wide selection of ramen. It was kinda hard to decide so I stuck with my normal Shoyu. It was very tasty and just what I needed on a cold winter day. I also ordered edimame which was good but nothing out of the ordinary. Service was good and prices were good considering it was a huge bowl. You can actually make it 2 meals if you're not that hungry to finish it in one sitting. Good ramen if you're in the area!

Decent although not great and not super authentic Japanese food. Stopped in to this strip mall ramen shop for lunch. Started with the gyoza and they were pretty good. Had the Tonkostu ramen and it was also pretty good. Not the best I've had but more than passable. Some decent chunks of grilled chashu. Noodles were nice. Broth was pretty good, it had some depth to it. Toppings also decent although not a huge fan of the taro or fish cake. Service we efficient. Place was clean. Would stop in again if in area.

Ajinoya Ramen killed it! I ordered the Miso Ramen and finished the whole bowl. Every element was executed perfectly, with so much flavor in each bite. The staff was very professional and timely in checking in with customers. I got my meal within 10 minutes of ordering. This restaurant is a great spot for catching up with friends or grabbing a quick bite solo, with plenty of variety on the menu.

Tonkotsu-Shoyu Ramen with Ramen noodles. So much broth that everything is floating?

Have to say- I could have made instant ramen at home and it would have been better flavor and presentation. This is a soul-less bowl of sad ramen. I don't know what got into me thinking I'd try Ramen in Denver. The Chashu had an odd toughness and flavor of grilling. It was terrible. I know many don't know any better- but this is a below sub-par level of ramen at a premium price! I regret being Japanese because this food just made me mad. Please just stop making bad ramen America!

Came here for dinner on Saturday night - walked in and wasn't as busy. Enjoyed the shoyu tonkotsu ramen and miso ramen - I loved how smoked the pork was in both these ramens, definitely added to the flavour of the broth. Husband also got the miso soup which was good but not piping hot. Service is quick and friendly! Definitely get the shoyu ramen!

Decent ramen. The noodles are solid, but the egg didn't seem freshly soft boiled. The soup was a bit too heavy on the shoyu, so much so that it was quite salty. Overall a great option but not my favorite bowl of ramen ever.

I've been craving for soup during my stay in Colorado at winter time. We found this ramen spot. We picked all types and mine is not really appealing the fact it was cold when it served :( Tonkatsu was good and flavorful though..

As usual, i found this place on Yelp. We were in Denver area on a cold December night and a ramen place was the perfect spot for us. The place is a little hard to find as we circled around the strip mall and had to ask someone for the exact location. The entrance turns out to be in front of the row facing the street so it's a bit of a walk to get there. The ambiance is bright, simple and modern. The inside is clean and organized. Service was fine. We ordered their most popular which is the Tonkotsu Shoyu Ramen. It was good but not the best. Broth was okay with a little kick to it. Chashu was soft and tasty. Portion and price are fair. We also ordered the chicken karaage which was good- crispy with good flavor and pairs well with the dipping sauce that came with it.

The menu leans classic izakaya--small plates meant for sharing--but everything comes out with care and confidence. Skewers are grilled properly, not rushed, with just enough char to matter. The ramen is rich without being heavy, and the broth tastes like someone actually paid attention to it for hours. Even the simpler dishes feel deliberate, which isn't always the case with izakaya-style menus. The atmosphere hits a nice balance: lively without being chaotic, cozy without feeling cramped. It works just as well for a casual dinner as it does for lingering over drinks. Speaking of drinks, the sake and Japanese whiskey selection is thoughtful and well-paired to the food. Tatsu doesn't try to reinvent Japanese cuisine--it just executes it well.

Uncle makes me want to move to Denver! To start the ambiance is really chill and inviting with warm lighting and offers countertop as well as table seating. Our server was amazing and explained the menu well and made some recommendations that did not disappoint. We ordered way to much food but I do not regret that because I got to try so many amazing dishes. Despite ordering so many options they even brought us a chilled tofu dish complimentary (no clue why but not complaining) and it was lovely! We shared the uncle salad (amazing!), thai shrimp, eggplant buns, several different nigiri/aburi nigiri and sashimi and the toro toro and spicy tuna roll. All of the sushi was fresh and had excellent pairing of accompaniments. The only dish that I remember being a miss was the soft shell crab buns. The proportion of bun to interior was off and there was way too much mayo. Everyone got their own ramen which they seemed to love. I ordered the Veggie Khao Soi per our servers recommendation and I am still thinking about it weeks later. It was a curry/ramen mix and had big chunks of trumpet mushrooms in it and the perfect amount of spice that I love. Denverites I am jealous you have Uncle and anyone visiting make sure to add it to your list!

What a cute little place!!…read more It was late in the evening and I was getting hangry. I was craving ramen and Neko came up during my Yelp research. They were open late, so we decided to go. The restaurant was popping at 22:00 on a Friday. We were greeted warmly by staff. It was intriguing to us that we ordered via an iPad kiosk as if we were at a boba place, but we didn't mind. However, usually only to go orders are placed on a kiosk. In my hangry state of mind, I had not realized that Neko only serves their ramen with chicken broth, so for those of you who prefer tonkotsu broth, this isn't the place for you. For that reason, my husband had to order a chashu rice bowl instead. Personally, I enjoy both paitan and tonkotsu. I went with the black garlic ramen. It didn't take very long for our food to arrive. While we waited, we dispensed water for ourselves from the soda fountain. I was a little confused upon receiving my black garlic ramen, as I thought the black garlic oil would be more prominent. I was assured that I had the right bowl. My husband enjoyed his chashu rice bowl. I had a small bite and the pork was tender and well-seasoned. The paitan broth was very umami indeed. I would have liked to have more of a black garlic flavor, but it was still good. Next time I would just pay the extra $2 for more black garlic oil. The noodles were bouncy, and the chashu was tender. The egg was deliciously jammy (alas no photo because I devoured it). I saw they had soy sauce and hot sauce, but wish they had the classic chili powder so I could have added some to my ramen. Neko Ramen & Rice hit for late night noms, and the cat-themed decor all around (since Neko means cat in Japanese) was such a vibe. They also serve curry, poke, and various small bites if you want some apps to enjoy before your entrees. If you don't mind chicken broth for your ramen or will be ordering rice bowls instead, Neko is a fun little place to come dine at, especially since they open late.
