Me and my late wife went to Sakura regularly when it was an eat-in restaurant and under a different ownership. Then came covid in 2020 and we didn't go out eating anymore. My wife passed away in 2022 and last year (2025) I happened to be in the neighborhood and checked out Sakura again and learned that it was under new ownership and a pick-up/delivery restaurant only. I ordered Kani salad (which was one of the staples that my wife and I enjoyed. It was as good as I remembered it and I went from then on more frequently to Sakura, checking out different dishes, which were all delicious! I enjoy the friendly service and a great offer I usually take advantage of: if your bill is over $18.00 and you pay in cash, you get a free California roll! I was also gifted with a nice little Aloe plant once, when their big plant produced many new offshoots. My latest favorite is Paul's Special Salad. Not worth your time or money. They screwed up our order pretty bad and when we called to try to figure out a solution, I might as well have been talking to a robot. The lady just kept repeating what we ordered back to me, refusing to let me explain that what we ordered was not what we received. After giving up on talking to them to explore a solution, we tried to eat what we got. The food we did get that appeared edible, was very unimpressive, especially for the price. I'm happy this place is still opened during the pandemic. This is my go to place for local sushi, especially when they deliver. I think the owners are local, so this is as local as you can get. I know the all you can eat sushi places may look good on paper, but remember this when you do go. You're getting quantity over quality. You're most likely over eating and creating more health problems for yourself. So order here where you'll get better quality and the benefits of being healthy by consuming your favorite things at a moderate level. :) read more

Awesome little sushi spot in an otherwise old dead looking town. The server Jenny is very prompt and helpful. I got the salmon avocado and salmon cucumber roll. The sushi took a little longer than expected to make but it was worth it because it came out fresh. The cucumber was sliced into small strands and avocado was plentiful. Salmon was fresh tasting. Jasmine tea was very tasty and refreshing. Also, not sure what the 2 star review was saying about the Wasabi because mine was moist and soft. We moved to the area during COVID and have only gotten to get takeout, which I am traditionally hesitant on in general. They have beyond exceeded our expectations and changed my mind on takeout being not as good as in restaurant. They always have great service. I haven't had sushi from TOO many places, however, California roll, dynamite roll, chicken hibachi rice is ALWAYS to my liking and I've never been disappointed when coming here. They're quick and everything is hand made you can see them preparing your sushi if you walk inside. read more

I was totally fooled by the location which looks really small and it turns out the main dining room is upstairs. We ordered a handful of special rolls and they were all pretty good, my favorite being the one that had a mountain of crunch and spicy scallop & crab on the top. Overall it scratches the itch and since it is new, I would expect there won't be crazy wait times until they gather a larger following. I am all for giving new businesses a chance and in this case I am glad we did. I would say they are more on the 3.5 range but overall I liked it enough to want to come back. We went today for lunch with my mother in law. The sushi was fresh, great presentation, and overall tasted good. We had a crunchy roll, magic roll, and a spider roll. We also had calamari which was crisp and fresh this was my mother in law's favorite. They have great lunch specials I chose the steak hibachi with fried rice and vegetables. The lunch special is much smaller tham the full size they ordered but it is still a lot of food. My mother in law and fiance had the shrimp hibachi entrée with fried rice and vegetables. We ended our meal with a tempura banana with vanilla ice cream. The service was impeccable. The green tea is really good. The hibachi food is much better than other local options but is not the best. More like a 3 star but am adding a star for attentive and genuinely friendly service. FYI the dining area is up a flight of stairs. The sushi bar is on the first floor. read more

First, we really love Sakura and have never had an issue there before. Any other time I would have easily gave about 4-5 stars. This time we ordered, however, there was a staple found in my child's meal. Mistakes happen, and the owner re made and re delivered our food, which was fantastic to us. But we will say that we were very much taken back by the fact that they kept telling us it wasn't possible; That they staple the platter lids on and it basically must have been our fault it got in there. There were no staples used to secure any of our other platters, nor was there any holes in my kids platter to suggest it may had been staples and fell out. I opened the platter and just saw it sitting in the rice. We are more upset about the restaurants lack of "owning" the mistake then the actual mistake, and it made us upset that they were implying it was our fault. read more

This is one of a select few go-to sushi places for us. They've got a great selection of rolls, and everything we've gotten has generally been great. My favorite from here, the Black Bird Roll ("Spicy salmon avo with pepper tuna, pepper sauce and black tobiko"), is something I haven't seen anywhere else, even at special roll-heavy Mikado. Please see my previous review as this one is only for Hibachi Take out and not with there sushi. We ordered 2 take out hibachi meals on saturday. One Filet and one Filet and Scallops. Both came with vegtables and rice. I also orderd the gyoza and 2 kani salads... The kani salad was decent, its not the best ive had but not the worse. The gyoza is the only reason for 3 stars here..They were fried nicely and great flavor. The entrees were weak. The steak was cooked ok but lacked flavor. Same as the scallops. For the price i got the amount of food that i expected. The rice was plain and bland. The vegtables were ok. The sauce that the meat and veggies were sitting in was ok as well. It also had a lot of extra sauce in the container. The white sauce that came with the meal was mediocre. Will continue to order sushi form here but not sure we will give the hibachi another try anytime soon. read more

Came to visit a friend who lived nearby and just felt like getting some sushi. Saw this little place around the corner and decided to give it a try. Couldn't believe how fresh and tasty the food was . The sashimi pieces were soo goooodddd!!!! Had some of their special rolls and they didn't disappoint either. I have had sushi in Philly and at other places within the South Jersey area, and I have not found sushi as great as Sakura serves. I had the Spicy Hamachi Roll and Volcano Roll. I ordered via Grub Hub because it was raining outside and it took about an hour. I ordered a variety of sushi and some Miso Soup and was really pleased. I ordered simple rolls just to see how it was made before getting more exotic and complicated rolls. I was quite impressed the rolls were made nice and tight without ingredients falling apart, and they were nicely presented. I loved the Futomki rolls, that's been my favorite lately and the shrimp and tuna rolls were good. I tried the chicken teriyaki rolls but that wasn't my favorite. If I was to base my review on the food alone, Sakura would get five stars, no doubt. We enjoyed four specialty rolls, as well as starting off with dumplings, tempura and miso soup. Everything was incredibly fresh. I've enjoyed sushi around the world and for years have held a tiny place in Montreal as the best I've ever had. Sorry, Monty, you've been dethroned. Sakura was by far the best sushi I have ever had! The plating was artfully beautiful and the service was great. My hubby and I ate for $60.54 with all that food and two sodas. They even brought out a complimentary house treat for us to enjoy while our appetizers were being prepared. I love little touches like that. I like other little touches too but I can't talk about those in a restaurant review. We were the only ones eating in on a Friday at 530 and when we left an hour later no other dining-in customers were there. Good thing for us as it gave us time to practice our "Tumbling Valinda's " routine. We just don't have room at home to tumble. The only reason I didn't give Sakura five stars is because the carpet on the stairs leading up to the dining room is really dirty and because there was one, out of a dozen hanging lamps that had a ton of flies circling the shade. I just couldn't understand why only one lamp was like this but it was smack-dab in the middle of the dining room and I was staring at it the entire time we were there. It brought back bad memories of Madame Jeanette's in Aruba where dinner before sunset gave an entirely new meaning to "Lord of the Flies"! Hurray for sushi that delivers at 10pm. My younger brother and I had such a craving and we order about 8 different rolls. They came very quickly and it tasted super fresh. I'm giving this place 5 stars for overall happy with the fact they deliver. You can't get that around here so that was fantastic. I've eaten here once before with my boyfriend. The food there is so delicious. I'm not big on the tuna because it's sort of mushy n not very solid. But almost everything else I've had has been good. Well , I'd like to start off by saying that I've only bought delivery , so the eat in experience may differ . From what i learned , the only thing worth ordering thru delivery is the sushi . They make a good quality sushi & it's also the first place I came across that delivered sushi . With that being said , sushi will be that only thing I order from there . Was driving by when their grand opening sign caught my eyes. They have a small parking lot for bout four to five cars. When walking into the restaurant, we were met by a welcoming host be hide a sushi bar. She asked whether we were dinning in or take out. Their dining room is upstairs and it looks like a small living room with dining tables and chairs. The Menu was pretty decent in size. It wasn't small, but it wasn't all that big either. We ordered their seafood miso soup and fried oysters as our apps. The soup and oysters came out first. The fried oysters were just amazing! It wasn't bitter as normal fried oysters. The soup was ok, in the soup there were cut up shrimp and scallops which gave a nice texture to the soup. Our main course I ordered their lunch special shrimp and steak that came with a spring roll and fried rice. The steak was cooked to order but was diced into cubes. The shrimps were pretty small, however they made up for the size by including more shrimp. The rice was pretty good and the spring roll was about average. My girlfriend ordered the lunch special sushi that ordered two types of sushi rolls with a spring roll. I was fortunate enough that my girlfriend shared with me and they tasted pretty good I would give it a three out of five. Overall the experience was good! read more
