Good food & service Rice was a bit thick but still good The peach martini was on sweeter side so it's perfect for those who don't like the taste of alcohol

Kooma is a very beautiful and classy space located at the Cherry Hill Mall. I believe this was the old California Pizza location and is next to Macys. Kooma has a pretty diverse Pan-Asian menu including Japanese, Korean and Thai. Some of the menu items are Asian Fusion. There is a wide variety of Sushi also. We ordered mostly an array of appetizers. Ceviche, Tempura, Soft Shell Crabs, and Calamari. Everything was good but the standout was the Ceviche. We ordered an Udon Seafood Noodle soup to share that was also good. Kooma has a nice selection of cocktails, wine, beers and spirits if you are so inclined. Service was good but a little spotty. I believe they were a little short staffed on the Saturday night we were there. It wasn't too bad however. I would not run back to Kooma but will definitely give it another try in the future. 3.5-4.0 Yelp Stars

Kooma is amazing! And in a nice convenient location at the Cherry Hill Mall. I ate such fresh, delicate, and melt in your mouth food. The hand cut sashimi and expertly rolled sushi were presented in an aesthetically pleasing way, and I was truly impressed with this presentation. Sushi lovers, brace yourselves for this wow factor! Besides the sushi, you also need to try the soy garlic Korean fried wings. These were crispy, crunchy, and had a deliciously tangy flavor. The stone pot bibimbap is a hot rice dish that finishes cooking in front of you and is also a fabulous presentation! Enjoy listening to the sizzle of the rice and egg cooking on the burning hot stone. The seafood combo was plentiful of various bits of delicious seafood, so seafood lovers, this is for you! Our waiter recommended the pork belly, which was tender, mouthwatering and melted in my mouth! If you appreciate a nice kick to your food, the chili garlic noodles were on fire! The perfect combo of delicious comfort food but with some added spice. We capped off the night off with a decident slice of flourless chocolate cake, and a tasty espresso martini. Kooma has an amazing happy hour, live music, networking events, and it's a beautiful restaurant with an excellent staff. That's why it's so perfect for your next date night or GNO!

We decided earlier in the day to make reservations for 4 at 7pm on a Saturday night. We arrived at 6:45 and was offered to either sit at the bar (the bar was big and surprisingly pretty empty) until 7, or to be seated a little early as a table was available. We went against our typical decision to sit at the bar and elected to be seated right away. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and there were plenty of tables with ample seating. We were seated pretty close to the sushi counter so we were able to see the sushi chefs at work. Our server, who was very nice, started us with drinks. We had a Belvedere straight up with a twist, a Tito's and club, a Passionate Heat, and a Lychee Martini. The Passionate Heat, my drink, caught my eye as soon as I looked at the menu. Habanero infused vodka was calling my name and it was shaken with passionfruit juice, pineapple juice and lime and garnished with a jalapeño. Perfect balance of heat and sweetness for anyone who likes a little spice in their life. My fiancés Lychee Martini was also very good. After our round of martinis we decided to split a bottle of pear sake, chilled, which was very enjoyable with our sushi. The menu is so big and everything on it sounded great. We decided to start with Rock Shrimp which were the best I've ever had. Both lightly battered and fried, and coated with the perfect amount of spicy mayo. We also split the beef bulgogi which was stir-fried in a delicious marinade with carrots, scallions, and onions. My fiancés mom ordered Chicken Teriyaki which she really enjoyed. Both the bulgogi and teriyaki were served with a side of rice. Lastly we ordered a selection of specialty rolls and a spicy tuna roll. All of the rolls were huge and all of the fish was fresh. We had a Bruce Lee roll (which was my favorite) that had salmon, yellowtail, spicy tuna, and avocado. The Wilk Roll had very tender filet mignon, asparagus, avocado, and was topped with pickled red onion that perfectly complimented the filet. And a Forever Love roll which was tuna and crab. We loved the food and the drinks were very good. The portion sizes and quality of food definitely coincide with the menu prices. It was nice to try a newer place we've never been and I'm sure we'll be back after our experience tonight.

This place looks very modern and sleek with a lot of dark wood and modern chandeliers. Service perhaps is almost too good- we had 3 people come over and had to check drink orders twice. Also we got the wrong sushi order- BUT they immediately comped and corrected it with apologies! For me this place is a splurge, a special event occasion spot. But they had people enjoying the happy hour in the bar area for quite awhile (why don't they put info on that on their website?) My margarita was strong but only all right in flavor. The sushi was indeed delicious and filling with a good variety to select from and a true sushi bar if you want to eat solo. Not my new fave place but good to keep in mind if you want to splurge.

Came here on a Friday night. Wasn't very busy and we got seated right away. Service was good and food came out quick. Everything was good but a bit pricey. Very large menu with different food options for all dietary needs.

The food here is very good. VERY good. The service is top tier and the manager Ted does an outstanding job! Same the bartender is very attentive, and makes you feel comfortable. The ambiance is really chill and casual. Try the Chili Garlic Noodles, the Gyoza, the Lychee, and the Edamames.

Amazing food and ambiance! We loved our sushi and nearly everything we ordered was amazing. The rock shrimp appetizer was so good, it is a must order for us going forward. The only thing we did not like was the yakitori. The drinks were amazing and the chicken teriyaki was cooked perfectly. We cannot wait to eat here again! Our second experience was not as great as the first, but we still had some good dishes. The yaki udon was very good. We did not care for the edamame or the steamed gyoza. Overall a great spot and perfect for date night!

This was a unique dining experience. A tiny bit pricy but food was good, drinks were excellent! I will definitely come back for happy hour drinks at the bar!

Restaurant special, not yet on the menu: Sashimi bouquet, courtesy of the chef. So fresh and delicious. Beautiful too!

First time dining at Kooma. Very impressed! We tried a variety of things from rock shrimp, scallops appetizer, California roll, to miso salmon and spicy noodles with shrimp, everything was fresh and beautifully presented. Service was friendly! The atmosphere was loungey/club-like, which was the only thing we didn't love. A little more vibrancy and pops of color would liven up the place and make it more inviting than the all black, grey decor. We will be back.

For a weekend night, it's best to make a reservation on Open Table. When I got there, several parties ahead of me did not have a reservation which made it a little more difficult for the hostess as she had to check seating. We were seated immediately close to the sushi bar so we could see them making the rolls. Our waitress, Skylar came over right away and asked if we had ever been here before and asked about drinks. We have been there once before but my one son had never been. We usually don't order drinks when we go out so we had our water which Skylar filled throughout the night. We ordered apps right away. We got the Short Rib BBQ Buns and Rock Shrimp which were both very delicious. My two sons ate the shrimp really fast and kept saying this is really good. The bar area had a couple tv's and my son had asked if ESPN could be turned on. It took a while but eventually came on. Our entrees were all tasty as we finished every last bite. We had Spicy Pork Stonepot Bibimbap with egg and veggies, Bulgogi, Spicy Kooma Noodle with Beef, Shrimp Pad Thai, Black Belt Roll and Hawaiian Roll. The entire experience and atmosphere was wonderful. Skylar even commented that we were easy to serve.

I went here yesterday with my best friend for lunch. This was our second time here and both times far exceeded our expectations! Ted made our drinks and they were delicious. He even suggested a martini as a specialty one of his. Our server Ariana was very friendly and kept checking in on us. I had the bento box with chicken teriyaki and my friend had a dumpling soup. The first time we were here I had gotten the Kooma special roll- so delicious! Can't wait to come back again soon!!

PRO: I will say, if you want a place where you can sit and have a conversation, dark mood lighting (especially forgiving if the last time you saw each other alot was 20 years ago! - LOL), Sagami is an excellent choice. PRO: They don't rush you out - take your time. It was a Thursday night, so not especially busy when we came at 6:30 PM. CON: I could not find an updated menu online - I'm one of those people who like to peruse a menu in advance. I started with a vegetable tempura appetizer ($10) - excellent, light, airy, tasty. My main was the dragon roll - very tasty. Service was quite nice. Appetizers came out almost immediately, the rolls took a lot longer to get to our table. This is the kind of place where you're not paying to fill up your belly - but if you do, expect to shell out some bucks.

I have tried almost everything in the two visits. The best items to get are the sushi, bubble teas, the braised pork belly, and the hibachi. Everything is exceptional too. The only dud that I've come across was their "deviled eggs". Complete miss there, it's just a boiled egg with seasonings on it, somebody didn't understand the assignment. Everything else is delicious. Props to them for having interesting desserts too, there were mochi, creme brulee, ice cream, and some cakes to name a few. I was impressed by everything out there, heck, even the fresh fruit is very high quality too. This establishment is very clean and very well run. I chose the place because I know he can't afford it (but holy COW did I not realize how much he can't afford it). I knew that he would get a kick out of the place. Don't get me wrong, I did too....It was definitely unique. He eats sushi, and thought it was good. If he had to pay for it, I am not sure he'd give such a glowing review. . Upon entry to the restaurant, they had a sign on the door apologizing for not having ramen or udon available (great, what I planned on ordering). . We walked in and were greeted by a guy and he sat us. As he was seating us, he said something out loud, others responded....We had no clue what was said, but we sat, he told us to order our drinks on the screen. Last time we saw a human. Not sure why they expected a 20% tip? . We ordered the drinks, Sprite and a water. Robot came promptly and turned around and we grabbed our drinks. Robot then scooted away. . Robot then returned again with a Sprite and a water....I looked at my kid and was like "what do we do? I don't wanna be charged for another soda?" We ignored it and it went away..... . Only to come back a third damn time? We ignored it, it went away and didn't return...so that was good. . Then the sushi started coming by. Me not eating sushi (raw fish), or any kind of seafood, I looked at the computer menu. I then saw american waygu slices come by on top of rice (looking like sushi), so I grabbed one. What a mistake! The Waygu was inedible. It was so chewy. I couldn't even swallow it. Ate the rice, had to spit out the beef. There's what $4.10 wasted. . Then I clicked on the screen and ordered the gyoza and crispy chicken. The gyoza was very good, but $6.05 for only 4 pieces was kinda steep. The crispy chicken was good too, however again. Small portion for the price charged. We ordered Umami Oil Seared Beer $4.10 he enjoyed that (I didn't get a bite, he ate both), he ordered the crunchy hand roll $4.10, we got the Umami Cucumber Salad $4.10 (way too $$$ for THAT), we got the Crispy Rice Hot Dog $4.10, the Gooey Butter Cake $4.10, Sweet Corn Kakiage $4.10 (that was deicious, but again....way overpriced), we got watermelon at $4.10 (overpriced), and the Taiyaki Ice Cream, that was good, it came with a doughy fried fish thing. I think it was $6.10, but I could be wrong. . All in all with tip (I don't know why we left $4, I guess because I felt bad for the person busing our tables and removing our napkins? . It was good, we left full....but it was way overpriced. We just did takeout on Friday the girlfriend and I and we spent half what we spent here and had way more food with left overs. . I would say go for the experience, but the food. I don't know, maybe thats how much sushi costs? $4.10 for two pieces? I don't know. Glad we had some father & son time and we tried something super unique.....but to me, it was expensive for what we got. . Only one photo....the rest were videos and I didn't want to put his face all over this review....
