I normally would never 1 Star a place because I deeply appreciate people working hard for their money but this place was not good in any aspect. The staff, specifically the cashier lady had a very bad attitude. Again, I try to consider that maybe she had a bad day but on several occasions she's had an attitude. The food was very bland-- they skimp on the cream cheese in the Philly roll, the shrimp in the SHRIMP tempura, the salmon in the SALMON roll... you get the point and instead of including a lot of it, they put a lot of cucumbers and unnecessary fluff. Probably the worst sushi I've ever had. And their soy sauce was watery. The food came out quickly which was the only positive part of the experience. I ate more ginger than I did sushi. Anybody loves bubble tea just as much as I do, mark here as the NO 1 place to go for!!! My coworkers brought me here for the first time a few weeks ago and I am obsessed. We came back for lunch today because a couple of us were really craving sushi. Theres convenient free street parking about a block up and there always seems to be spots there. Last time I came here I got the tofu teriyaki with fired rice and I loved it. The portions for the teriyaki are insanely huge for the price you pay ( ask for extra sauce when you grab it from the counter so worth it!!!). Today though I was really craving sushi and I debated getting a bento box but I still haven't worked up to it yet. I ordered the tofu heaven roll (which is fried tofu scallions and crunchy stuff topped with spicy mayo) and a spicy California roll. OH MY GOODNESS! The Tofu heaven roll is perfectly named because I was seriously in heaven! I will definitely be getting this roll from now on. The spicy California roll was delicious too, just nothing out of the ordinary which isn't a bad thing when it comes to sushi. Not only was my meal delicious it was also extremely reasonable. For both of the sushi rolls and an iced tea (a can of brisk iced tea) totaled $11.25. They have a lunch special where anything in the cooler is $1. If you are in the area and are craving sushi or teriyaki this place is definitely worth a try! read more

The food was tasteless and overall bad quality. I got the teriyaki chicken. It was a lot of food but it was such trash that I ate 1/10th and threw out the rest. Its cheap so you get exactly what you pay for. Also frustrated that they put hand sanitizer in the soap dispenser in their restrooms( not actual soap) how DISGUSTING. I had to ask the cashier twice before she gave me real hand soap from behind the register smh. If they cut corners on soap, what else are they cutting corners on? read more

Horrible experience... placed an order thru UberEats, when I received my order as I was eating I found hair in my sushi. Tried calling restaurant for a refund or something they told me there was nothing they could do that I had to call UberEats for a refund. Have made several attempts to reach UberEats followed the instructions send a picture of my food with the hair and no one has bothered to reach or contact me. There is no number to call, I sent email and got a response back that email is not monitored. The other messages I sent have gone unanswered. It's very unprofessional that neither place can assist a customer with complaints... you would think that $30.00 worth of food and a happy customer would be more of a priority. This is my first negative review. Food sucked. Teriyaki beef had no taste and rice crunchy. I pitched food and went somewhere else. I can't believe this place is still in business. Placed an order online, went to pick it up and it wasn't ready but the girl at the register didn't say anything else to me. She didn't let me know if or when it would be ready or confirm that it was being made she just ignored me. Then the sushi chef asked me what I ordered instead of checking the order. I sat down and waited because I didn't know what else to do and then finally I noticed my order as ready and told the cashier that my food was ready because she hadn't noticed. Sushi is very fresh. The bubble teas are very good. Staff is friendly, price is good. Linda and tommy rolls are my favorite.

My boyfriend and I eat here about once per week, and the food is always amazing! I'm so surprised by the low rating, we have loved everything we've ordered from here. The teriyaki dishes are our go-to but we typically get at least one roll on the side to share (almost always the Tommy Roll because it's amazing). I always ask for an extra side of teriyaki because I like it saucy, but my boyfriend says thinks his doesn't need it. We love this place!! read more

Ordered last minute and truly I can't complain, the crunchy spicy tuna roll was on point and it sure was what I needed and the chicken teriyaki was good but I've had better. Alright, the food is not top quality Japanese sushi, but at the prices and being in Harrison, you should not be expecting that. The portions are large and the teriaki chicken was decent. The rice is not high quality sushi rice in the sushi, but the overall flavor is not bad if like me you mix wasabi and soy sauce together and dip the sushi in. If you want that pure fresh fish flavor go with sashimi and go to somewhere that either flies it in on dry ice or is right on a harbor. read more

I ordered on line for pickup. The food was decent, no real complaints (had better, had worse). My real issue was when I went to pick up my order I said I paid on line, they said no, they didn't charge my card so I needed to pay. The sushi rolls were not made with sushi rice and were sloppy/falling apart. They used regular warm white rice for the rolls. The chicken teriyaki was dry and was lacking in flavor. I am the kind of person that takes forever to order, but also hates waiting!! I went there while i was ordering the guys were helping each other one was preparing the food the other one making my smoothies and the cashier taking the rest of my order. This was the first time trying sushi and i love it. The cashier was really nice, I told her that i was knew to this so she asked me if i like spicy stuff and i said yes, so she recommend me the speciality rolls, i got the spider roll instead of eel sauce they put spicy mayo and it was delicious :) yummy yummy like the teriyaki chef said lol. She also helped me in my teriyaki orders i was undecided to get either chicken or shrimp so she recommend me to get the combo for only $1.50 more. Their smoothies were great. The prices were excellent and i love their service they treated me so nice :) Everybody is writing bad reviews but for me was just perfect. read more

This review was based on my visit this week. I was so happy when I heard they were opening a Sakura Japan in my town, but like many previous reviewers, I was disappointed with the quality of the food. My recent visit proved otherwise; the store now have a new teriyaki chief and sushi chief. The food tastes better now, like how I have always remembered Sakura Japan to taste like. The sushi is not good. I ordered a California roll which is the most basic roll of all sushi rolls. When it came out it was sloppy and rice was falling everywhere as it was not rolled properly. The taste was like biting into nothingness. I also got a Shrimp Tempura roll which was also bad. They also charge an extra dollar for a little cup of spicy mayo... never heard of a place doing this. They should be handing the stuff out for free so people can mask the flavor of their bad sushi. The sushi at this place is on the same level as sushi you get at the mall or a high school cafeteria. I gave them two stars because their fruit smoothies are actually good. Will only go back there for juice or tea if at all but never again for food. read more

The food is good here, the problem is the service. I order pick up each time I get food from here, thinking it will save me time waiting because when you order to eat in, it takes about 30 min to get your meal. I order pick up thinking it will be ready by the time I get there. Wrong! Each time I order pick up I end up waiting even if I placed the order 45 min prior. When I ordered pick up today, I indicated I didn't want rice , I didn't say I didn't want vegetables. They only made the chicken. The girl at the counter then tried to argue with me, indicating that I didn't put that I wanted vegetables, even though chicken teriyaki comes with vegetables. Just annoying! Warning: these people have no idea how to use online capabilities. My friend has been there and was charged twice on his credit card. Then we got a gift certificate through an app that stated just hand your phone to cashier to receive the discount. They would not take it. When i told him he can just punch in the gift certificate number right there where it said enter code, he refused to do so. So we went and printed it out. Funny thing is he just took the paper, threw it in the garbage, and gave us the discount. What a waste. Also be careful with the sushi. Its not the worst but not even close to the best. The chicken is only good with the noodles. Otherwise it is extremely dry and fatty. The bubble tea is also VERY watered down. I was very disappointed and will never come back here again. I've seen Sakura Japan multiple times from the path and was eager to try it, wanting to compare it to the fast food equivalent "Sarku Japan". I am writing off what I have seen and experienced twice before. I ordered the chicken teriyaki, coconut boba tea, and fried dumplings. The food was edible and not terrible, an ok place to eat for a quick bite or an Asian food craving. But my Teriyaki was a bit oily, only a little, yet I enjoyed it and would order again. The boba tea on the other hand has been ordered on 2 separate occasions and unfortunately failed both times to satisfy. It was more on the slushy side, showing resemblance with a slurpee. I hate to say it, but the dumplings would have been awesome if they were out of the fryer a minute or two before serving, they were a bit too crispy and on the burnt side for my liking. I have yet to try their sushi, and by the looks of it, it may taste well! I recommend this place to anyone in the area looking for some food-court type Asian food that one may want once in awhile, but sitting in and eating in won't provide much scenery. I would order again however, but maybe some different items, delivered to me instead. read more

This place is worse then the japanese grills you find in the food courts, at least those have some flavor. The chicken teriyaki was pretty much bland soy sauce grilled chicken, tasted terrible, took one bite and threw it all away. i bought the bento box and the guy only asked me what type of dumplings I wanted, and then later when i didnt recieve my california rolls, he said "oh, its dumplings or the rolls, try next time." Psh, there will never be a next time, the five guys next door, or the pronto marketplace sells wayyy better food. One more thing, when i got my salad, the guy asked if i wanted hot sauce, i said no, i want ginger dressing, and they didn't have it, so they just gave me leaves dumped on a plate. How can you have the name japan in your restaurant, and not have ginger dressing for the salad. Also, they gave me wasabi for no reason, but it looked absolutely dry. I've been in this store today, I asked teryaki beef with extra beef, and came with normal beef, complained and the plate employee treated me with irony, he said that I wanted so much for $ 10, and on top treated me with disrespect and yelled at me, I asked him if he knew where he was, demanded respect for only wanted what I had paid and nothing else, never come back in this place of educated poor people, asked for the manager but would not give me the information, were trying to protect the employment of educated poor official, gave me a soda to smother the case, I tried to locate the responsible for that establishment, but could not because this restaurant has no website, summarizing a mess! it does not matter because I had education and only demanded my right to have what I paid! Always ate it, now never put my feet in that terrible place, and the food is not all that, super greasy and not sushi are the best!
