I got udon with shrimp tempura, hubs got tonkotsu ramen with pork, one daughter got ramen w chicken broth and chicken meat in it, and the other daughter got 2 orders of California rolls (6pcs each). Great place and if I'm ever in the area again, I'd definitely stop in!

The salmon avocado roll was fine, not enough flavor. The spicy tuna roll was probably the weirdest spicy tuna roll I've ever had, and not in a good way. It was half cucumber, which im not a fan of, and the spicy tuna itself didnt taste anything like the spicy tuna im used to...it tasted spicy but not like fish? The Philly roll was my favorite roll actually, and im not usually a Philly roll fan, but the cream cheese added some nice flavor the other rolls were lacking. The fried rice was very mediocre. Very little flavor. The meal came with an unexpected side sauce which was more than just soy but we couldn't really tell what it was exactly. We dipped the sushi in it and poured some on our rice which helped the flavor for both a bit.

The staff was really nice, and the sushi chef actually took the time to explain what went into the order. Huge props to them for not charging extra for eel sauce, too. My only tiny callouts were that I wished the lettuce in the salad was chopped a little smaller and that there was a bit more pickled ginger, but overall it was a great experience. It's definitely set up more for quick pick-up than a sit-down meal, but the quality is 100% there. I'll definitely be coming back!

The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made for a great first impression! The portions are HUGE for the price, and everything we ordered was delicious. My favorite was the oyster pancake; they were so generous with the oysters, and it was packed with flavor. Overall, an awesome dining experience with great food, generous portions, and excellent service. I'll definitely be coming back! Hopefully they can open another location with a parking lot!

The pork slices were big although I wouldn't say they are as good as those found in very traditional and higher end ramen places in NYC. But at this price point in the suburbs, the place is absolutely a 5-star. Look it's not Ippudo or Ichiran... it's part of a small group with various locations... but it's also not your typical suburbia mall Japanese spot either. The drinks are very well priced too. Service was very friendly, it's convenient with lots of parking, and they seem to be quite busy midweek for early dinner. I've yet to find a go-to ramen place in NJ... Ani Ramen is popular around here though I think this is better. It's good enough for this ramen snob to not make me want to drive into Manhattan to seek out ramen even if it's not exactly quite like the very best in the city.

So, realistically, I don't expect to find that same level of ramen here in the New York/New Jersey area. That being said, this place in West Orange definitely does the job. I tried the shrimp ramen, and I can honestly say it was very good. Is it the perfection you can experience in Osaka? No--and that would be an unfair comparison. But for what you can find around this area, this is easily one of the better bowls of ramen I've had. Good flavor, enjoyable broth, and a solid overall experience. If you're local and craving ramen, this place is definitely worth giving a try. Osaka set the bar very high for me, but this one gets my respect.

My friends and I ordered the 10 piece Huancaina Roll, Leche de Tigre Maki Roll, and the 10 piece Maki Parillero Roll. To be honest the Huancaina Roll didn't have much flavor and it was pretty bland compared to the other two rolls so it wasn't my favorite. But if you love Peruvian Ceviche you're going to LOVE the Leche de Tigre Maki roll. The fish was so fresh and flavorful. The reallllll show stopper was the 10 Piece Maki Parillero roll. It was AMAZING! The sliced beef tataki just melts in your mouth and the chimichurri was just an absolute chefs kiss. I kid you not I could've eaten two orders of just that roll and called it a day.
