    Sushi options

Came here on a weekday evening, not busy and a few families inside. Food is pretty standard Chinese buffet with sushi options. Freshness varies but if you can tell what's been sitting out for a while. I thought the various Chinese items were pretty standard and nothing stood out significantly. The sushi was mostly rolls and salmon and tuna. Cost was about 20 bucks a person. Quantity is the selling point here

Unbelievable buffet found in my hometown!! Who knew!! I've had my share of AYCE especially in the Central Valley and I have to say it's the best that I've been to and it's located in good ole Tulare!! The sushi was very fresh and it wasn't just California Rolls! They had fresh nigiri both tuna and salmon. Then there was fresh tuna and salmon sashimi. I made it a point to try most everything. The soups were good. The fresh oysters was fresh and I dared to eat it without issues. The Chinese food variety was everything your heart desires. Then there's your fried food like egg rolls, shrimp, chicken, and French fries. The place was clean and welcoming. The wait staff clear your clean plate asap. The price point was really good also. I have recommended the place already and I look forward to coming asap.

Love the wide variety of foods and freshness of them! Additionally, the dinner price of $21.9 is unbeatable.

    Can't beat the lunch price!

They have a great open space and plenty of seating. I came at 12 on a weekday and all the food was so fresh and hot! I honestly came for the sushi but everything else looked so good I had to give it a try. Classic selection of asian foods you see at most Asian buffets. Everything I tried tasted pretty good too. For the lunch price, even if I had only gotten sushi pieces to equal 1 roll, it would be worth it!

We were craving a buffet, so decided to drive to Tulare from Porterville and try out the new one. When you walk in, the lobby has a space/astronaut aesthetic and funky new age art pieces. The cashier had a slight attitude and seemed to be in a rush even though the place was dead and there wasn't a line to get in the door. I paid cash to avoid the 3% credit card processing fee. For a Saturday night, I thought it'd be packed, but the were only about 6 other people in the restaurant (probably cuz it's Cinco de Mayo weekend and people are at home grilling), so you can see that a lot of the food had been sitting for awhile. My first round l got: Coconut shrimp (crisp, creamy, and flavorful) Pot Roast (savory and tender) Green beans (cooked properly w/ nice flavor) Fried calamari (nice crisp texture and tender) Cheese mussels (my favorite, but these were dry) Fried rice (flavorful and not mushy) Orange chicken (I think. Decent flavor) Garlic shrimp (slightly overcooked and tough) Mushroom chicken (great flavor. I just ate shrooms) Pork rib (tender with decent flavor) Sushi rolls were cold, but were really dense and not too good. Sugar donut (stale and inedible) The American food (nuggets, pizza, fries, etc) looked bland and old. My sister-in-law said they could have a wider selection of fruit. Dessert options weren't too plentiful (jello, pudding, fruit, sugar donuts, ice cream ). I didn't get anything. The waitresses were nice and kept the drinks filled and removed the plates quickly. I'd come again to try out some other dishes.

We recently visited Sakura Buffet -- it was me, my son, and his friend. Here's what we liked about it. The staff was very polite and always ready to help. They even brought drink refills directly to our table several times, which was really nice, especially since the boys went through their drinks quickly. The food selection had everything you would expect from a buffet. There was a good variety of seafood -- fish, shrimp, mussels -- both fresh and baked options. The selection was decent, though overall quite similar to other buffets we've visited. The average price per person is around $27, including the buffet and a drink, which is pretty standard. It wasn't crowded at all when we were there, which made the experience more comfortable. We actually chose this buffet because of its high online ratings. There was also a good variety of meats -- salmon, beef, and chicken -- as well as different pastries, desserts, and tasty ice cream. Overall, we enjoyed our visit. I usually ask myself at the end: would I come back? Probably yes, if I happen to be nearby. But I wouldn't make a special trip, especially since we later found a buffet closer to our hotel that was cheaper, had drinks included, and offered a much larger selection.

Sharp piece of metal in my cake

If I could give no stars I would, I recently went and paid $81 for 2 adults 2 kids, when eating a piece of cake I noticed a sharp piece of metal sticking out. For a place to charge higher prices I'd expect better quality and better checking of their food before putting it out. My kids could have eaten this!!! When telling staff up front I was handed a $5 coupon as if that's worth me choking over. Luckily I didn't eat it but imagine had I not noticed and ate it, I'm never one to complain but this was unacceptable and handed a $5 coupon was more on an insult than an apology.

There were two options: the full experience rodizio or the salad bar and side dishes only. However, when we were seated, we were immediately told the instructions for the full experience. Personally I would only do the full experience as the salad bar wasn't varied or tasty enough for the $34.95 price tag. The salad bar and hot foods were on the mushier side. I wished the sauces were formatted in a different format as the chimichurri sauce was very far from the edge. Hence, there was a high risk of cross contamination and spillage. The mustard pasta salad was bland and limp. The potato salad fared a similar dull taste and resembled a starchy lump. The tomatoes were grainy and dry. The pao de queijo was disappointedly under the ray of death so they weren't too hot nor crispy. I wished my party got to experience fresher baskets of bread. =FULL EXPERIENCE= We were told that there were 17 available meats but we only experienced some of them. However, we enjoyed how we got to taste them when they were hot and cooked perfectly. *Picanha: one of my favorites. The fat cap was rendered and seasoned well. The meat was medium rare, tender and juicy. This had the greatest beef flavor. *Chicken with Bacon: the chicken was tender but the bacon had a stronger smokey flavor. The bacon shone more than the chicken. *Pork Belly: my other favorite piece. There were bits of fat dispersed throughout so it was moist and flavorful. There was subtle crispiness from the fat browning. *Spicy Linguica: the spice was subtle and the casing gave a satisfying snap. The interior was juicy but it was on the saltier side. *Pork Ribs: surprisingly tender and fall of the bone. The sauce was a sweeter barbeque and the ribs were on the wetter side. There wasn't any smokiness, char or caramelization but the flavors and texture were still good. *Peppered Steak: on the tougher side but still oozed out meaty juice. *Garlic Steak: similar to the peppered steak only saltier. The garlic flavor wasn't very prominent and this piece left me thirsty. I would have preferred a garlic sauce as opposed to the concentrated garlic powder taste. *Tri Tip: the best option for a leaner cut. The meat was tender and juicy. This was similar in flavor to the picanha but without the fattiness. *Grilled Cinnamon Pineapple: the cinnamon hardened around the pineapple, offering a satisfying crunch followed by a gush of sweet fruitiness. The simplistically made this my favorite rendition from a Brazilian steakhouse. This was a great meal ender despite us getting flan afterwards. *NY Strip: this was a daily special. This was a leaner cut so the beefiness was prominent but I preferred the other meats with more fat. =A LA CARTE= Not included in the all you can eat experience. *Mojito: refreshing and citrusy. There was a good amount of alcohol included. *Pudim: great way to end the meal. The Brazilian flan was dense and creamy. There was a thin layer of caramel sauce on top but it wasn't too sweet. The portion size was nicely shareable between two people. Unfortunately, they didn't bring out the shrimp until we were full so we didn't get to try it. Otherwise the service was consistent and attentive. Our server even asked about which meats were our favorites so they could bring them back out for us. There were multiple groups celebrating birthdays and they brought out their staff to sing happy birthday. During an all you can eat experience, good service is the lifeline and this was some of the best service I've received. The ambiance was stellar and this was my favorite dining experience in the Central Valley. The meats blew the salad bar and sides out of the water so I would return just for that. Although this was a pricier option, the quality and service were 5 stars.

When I walk into the restaurant, I'm greeted with radiant smiles from the employees. It's like they already knew my little ray of sunshine would be walking in. We get seated almost instantly, and a lady comes over to ask for our drinks. I always order my usual pink lemonade, and my mom gets a raspberry tea. After that, we head straight to the buffet area where we can serve ourselves. The plates are spotless. I grab one and load it up with my usual: noodles, rice, potatoes, green beans, broccoli and beef, and orange chicken. But this time, I tried something new--creamy pineapple shrimp--and it was incredible. It practically melted in my mouth. Honestly, it might be the best thing I've ever had, and it should definitely be their signature dish. I love Golden China Buffet, and I would recommend it to literally everyone I know. Every time I go, everyone is so nice and welcoming, and the food is always amazing. Out of all the buffets I've been to, this one tops them all. It's my number one. This place deserves 10 stars--my mom would agree too. Even the ranch is always creamy and delicious. And there's also a really cute guy who works there--he's so sweet. Honestly, if I had the courage, I'd ask for his number. Anyway, this place is a 10/10, a five-out-of-five experience. Bring your family and friends, or even just come if you're starving--it'll fill you up in no time. By the way, their water is so clear and fresh it tastes like it came straight from the mountains--like it was just collected from a fresh stream. I promise, it's amazing. Thank you, Golden China Buffet, for being so spectacular.

She got the salad bar and a 6 ounce sirloin and she was happy with all of it. Now me on the other hand I was not impressed at all. I ordered the double Malibu chicken which is a menu item you have to order separate from the buffet. I was expecting something with flavor and personality but it came out tasting like buffet food. That is why I was disappointed. I don't think that's the cooks fault I think that's just how the corporation has it set up. The staff though was excellent. They were very friendly and very accommodating. They even came out and sang happy birthday to my mom. They kept us topped off with cheese bread which was fresh and hot every time. The restaurant was clean everywhere we went. Tables, bathrooms, condiment stations. I usually don't but I even included a restroom picture this time because it was that clean. I honestly feel bad only giving them 3 stars because the staff was excellent but the food just was not to my liking. If you like Sizzler then more power to you but for me it just was not very good.
