And during that time she was arguing with the first manager about what she said to us and then the second manager came out, and she still walked by my husband and myself giving us dirty looks rolling her eyes, saying that's not what she said. Took my 83 year old mother to Sizzler in Visalia for her birthday because that's where she wanted to go. She really enjoyed herself. She got the salad bar and a 6 ounce sirloin and she was happy with all of it. Now me on the other hand I was not impressed at all. I ordered the double Malibu chicken which is a menu item you have to order separate from the buffet. I was expecting something with flavor and personality but it came out tasting like buffet food. That is why I was disappointed. I don't think that's the cooks fault I think that's just how the corporation has it set up. The staff though was excellent. They were very friendly and very accommodating. They even came out and sang happy birthday to my mom. They kept us topped off with cheese bread which was fresh and hot every time. The restaurant was clean everywhere we went. Tables, bathrooms, condiment stations. I usually don't but I even included a restroom picture this time because it was that clean. Came back to sizzler today in hopes of the same wonderful experience we had a couple weeks ago. The service was great this time as well, but the food was not very good. I ordered the prime rib burger and added the salad bar. I fully regret adding the salad bar. The burger was inherently ok, the patty had a weird texture. But all the veggies were fresh on it. The soup was hot, the sauces were hot but everything else was colder than room temp. The chicken wings, the corn dogs, the corn fritters. The chicken they had in front of the taco meat. Cold. Let's begin with waiting forever to get plates and when finally asking for said plates have them literally pulled away while someone goes to back to find your mysterious server who is supposed to give you plates. Those plates were handed to is in a rude manner and mo other check ins or dirty plate removal or offers of new plates happened. We were afraid to ask again. Then a trip to the restroom nearly took the soles off our shoes the floor was so sticky and disgusting. At 5:30 pm the soups and dressings were nearly empty, dried and crusty around the edges. It should not be a surprise to the employees what time the dinner crowd will arrive and that they serve an unlimited salad bar option so clean plates should be available. Sizzler has been out go to lately after church on Saturdays. The staff is friendly and we get great service from everyone. Ramses is one of the servers and his service is by far the best. He takes care of his tables very well and is an amazing server. Check's in often and is just the best. If Sizzler has a training session for servers the it should be taught by this guy. About 1 year ago cashier/manager charged us for bottles of wine instead of per glass, she kept our receipt, and we had to go back next day to get $22 refund (we also paid for friends). Just went again and they had deleted seniors menu and we were told they had done away with senior salad bar trip and including drink. We were billed full price and later found out our meals qualified for 15% senior "grill" discount. Same person/manager who hosed us on wine previously was cashier and though we specifically asked she (Becky) did not give us the senior discount. We called and evasive manager finally said we could come back and get a free drink. She also said nationwide Sizzler had canceled salad bar and drink for seniors and per online that is not true; selectively done per Franchise. No complaints with the server. But general let down from corporate management that decided to change the menu and raise prices, by deleting two of the once free sides for the meal. We had one of the best servers I have ever encountered. Juan was the ONLY waiter on duty during the lunch rush on Thursday, April 3, 2025. There had to be 60+ diners. We ordered dinners, and he had to return an item that wasn't properly cooked on top of everything else. When I realized there were no others serving I watched this young man wait on EVERYONE with patience and professionalism. I did seek out the manager to offer my praise for Juan. I hope Sizzler will tell Juan he got a great review and if there is any kind of award it is doubled! We left a tip that in NO WAY reflected his value but it's all the cash we had which was about 15%. My girlfriend's dad ordered a burger and wanted to add a side salad for $5.49 because her mom doesn't eat much. However, the guy at the counter said they couldn't add the salad if her mom was the one eating it. He insisted it had to be for the person who ordered the burger. On top of that, my girlfriend didn't want a lot of food and tried to order from the kids' menu, but the guy said she couldn't because it was "for kids 10 and under." Honestly I don't like this place. I feel like I just threw $22 down the drain for the salad bar. And when the guy came over she asked him for the toast bread they give customers. He said ok and another 15 minutes go by and still no bread and the salad plates were starting to stack up. Fantastic Dining Experience at Sizzler! I had a great experience at Sizzler! This restaurant is a true bang for your buck. I ordered the herbed chicken, and it was tasty. I added the shrimp skewers as an additional side, which came with a lemon-flavored rice pilaf. The salad bar has so much variety and was clean. The Texas toast is always my favorite. This is my dad's favorite place to dine. He ordered the burger, and we were told by the waiter that they source the beef from a good provider. My dad said the burger was delicious. Despite what people have been saying on this app, I can say as an educator and a certified foodie, Sizzler is an excellent place to bring your family, especially if you're on a budget due to the inflation in our economy. While standing at the salad bar you could hear other customers complaining how disappointed they were. No chicken nuggets. Asked the cook "what's the orange-ish looking sauce was" and he said "oh, it's supposed to be Alfredo sauce, don't eat that, we're gonna make more". Um, yikes. They were out of everything and had 1 man struggling to replenish their meager offerings. Most Sizzler restaurants are a vegetarian paradise, but this one, just forget about going. They don't even offer vegetarian beans for their nachos. A huge waste of money eat elsewhere. The remodel, ambiance, is stark. All white. Feels like your eating in a Walmart. All white. Wanted to give Sizzler another try since the remodel. For reference we went after the reopened post Covid and was disappointed. Less food options and everything just seemed sad. Even the workers. The remodel really helped. It's nice, clean, and just better. Some of the food options that were gone before are back. Salad bar had good options with fruit, pasta, macaroni, broccoli and other salads. Hot food: the mini fried chicken i always loved, nuggets, spaghetti with meatballs or Alfredo sauce, tacos, and something else i know I'm forgetting cause i was full (sorry didn't see pizza . . Soups there were 3 (broccoli cheddar, clam chowder and veggie) Dessert had ice cream, 2 pudding options, churros and brownies. Soda is also self serve now. We also ordered steak and shrimp, because this was our trip back to see if Sizzler redeemed itself. Steak was great, cooked to order and the fried shrimp/shrimp skewers were great. The staff were very nice and attentive. You can tell they were excited for the new look as well as having people back. Overall very happy that Sizzler is back and hoping they do well.
