I've been coming to Sakura Sushi for years because it's close to home and used to be such a reliable staple. Lately though... I don't know what's going on. Some days the food tastes fresh, but other days it feels like I'm playing a guessing game. The miso soup used to be a favorite, but recently the tofu has been soggy and the rice tastes old. It's honestly disappointing because this place used to be great. I don't know if the owners have spread themselves too thin with all the new locations, but it really feels like this one has been left to crumble, and that's tough to say when I used to love it here -- and loved the staff, too. And desserts? Forget it. They never have any. I always order the green tea mochi and they're always out. At this point I'm seriously wondering if I should just start ordering from Frenasia instead. My mom has been wanting me try "her" sushi place, so we went for lunch for AYCE. Ordering is simple. You click what you want via an iPad and send it to the kitchen. I highly suggest ordering kitchen stuff first and then order sushi after. To start we had spicy kani salad, dinosaur egg, rock shrimp, coconut shrimp, chicken satay, shrimp dumplings, and soup dumplings. Everything was really good. While the chicken satay was good, I wouldn't order it again. For my sushi I had the Black Queens roll and the Fire Island roll. Both were really good! Visit Date: June 13, 2025 This was my second time visiting Sakura. I came one time with one of my friends and this past visit I took another one of my friends and my boyfriend. My friend/chosen extra sister and my boyfriend both love sushi. I like it as well but I don't go nuts over it, usually whenever I end up eating sushi I'm with someone else that wants to eat it. Overall for the value of your money it's worth it to come here for all you can eat sushi. It isn't buffet style, you order what you want at the table and they bring out to you. I actually prefer those types of all you can eat places over buffet ones. The service is the only reason I'm giving 4 stars and not 5. I have no issues with the friendliness of the wait staff but I feel like here and other all you can eat places I've been to that they tend to not bring you everything you order. I understand things might get confusing and it does get a little out of hand serving a bunch of people at one time especially if the restaurant is really busy. But I do want to try everything I place an order for and would appreciate everything from my order being bought out. I find this problem with every all you can eat sushi place. I just deal with it. Went back tonight with the wife, ate my weight in sushi. It was excellent. I recommend the dinosaur egg and sushi pizza, they were my favorite! This time my wife got a chicken tempura roll and two veggie rolls plus a salad. She really enjoyed all of it. Bring your appetite and head here for the all you can eat, it's worth it if you can eat a lot. And if you can't, the regular prices for items are very reasonable and even on the low side. This is our new favorite AYCE (all you can eat sushi place). There is different pricing for lunch, dinner, weekend vs. weekday. I think it's super easy to order here - you pick via iPad and there's also some photos to see what you will order. The food and sushi are all very fresh. It's a good size restaurant but we went at an off time so we were the only one's in the restaurant which was great - especially with a baby. The service was great and we will be back soon! read more

We ventured out to Sakura with my wife and two young kids. We found Sakura on yelp and saw that it had a very large variety of food options besides sushi, which is great for us as my kids don't dig sushi. Parking in the front was fairly easy and when we walked in on Saturday at around 5 PM, the place wasn't too busy. they use iPads to place orders, which was pretty easy to figure out. We ordered from the hot food menu and some sushi which came pretty quick however, this being our first time we didn't order too much sushi for fear of not being able to finish everything given all the hot appetizers we had. When I went to place my second order of sushi it did not arrive for quite some time until I asked the staff to see what the status of it was. They told me that I had supposedly went over my limit which seemed kind of surprising, considering it's a buffet I was given the chance to re-order, but by that time, my kids were already acting up from sitting there so long overall the food was fairly good with exception of the Kani which tasted kind of weird . For the price of $36 you get to order from anything on the iPad which I didn't know because some previous reviewers had stated there's an up charge for the premium items. Well now it's all included. I will give this place another try again, but my experience with not knowing my second sushi order did not go through kinda diminished my experience. read more

WE LOVE IT HERE! my hubby and I went for the weekday all you can eat lunch special (25.99 cash, 27.99 CC) and it was AMAZING! there are no exclusions to what you can order- signature rolls, regular rolls, sashimi, dim sum, appetizers, chefs specials, Chinese platters, soups, salads and dessert, too! even if you don't do the all you can eat, the prices in general are super reasonable. The place itself is no-frills but the service is so friendly, place is clean, and everything we ordered was absolutely delish! I know we went during off-peak hours but it didn't seem super busy and I just want to see them do well! If you love sushi, this is a place you cannot miss out on! We came here on a Wednesday after a failed attempt at getting in on a packed Friday night. Overall, the place is average at best. It's got a good selection of food, but most of the sushi we got had fish that had the same consistency as a can of tuna. Right when you get in you can see the amazing decor, separate eating area from bar. Lighting is great with the most cute lanterns hanging in the main dining area. Every booth has a nice piece of art in the wall, very classy and it lights up. Temperature of the restaurant was very comfortable, not too hot or cold but just right. Service was outstanding, as as soon as you order the food off the iPad menu within minutes it's prepared and brought to your table. I dropped a chopstick, and without me asking, a waiter brought a replacement right away. Very attentive service and very quick to clean the finished plates. The food was some of the best plates I've ever had at an AYCE sushi place. The menu is very extensive, I tried all of my favorites and was blown away. Such crisp flavors, gorgeous presentation. I honestly think this is my new favorite go to AYCE sushi place, except it is so much more. We had the following appetizers, Kani salad with avocado, Kani salad with mango, soup dumplings, shrimp dumplings, cheese fried wontons, sushi pizza and tuna tartar. The Kani salads weren't over bearing and had a lot of Kani, the toppings were perfectly portioned. Soup dumplings were pretty good, not like a specialty soup dumpling shop but still very good. The shrimp dumplings were perfect and the sweet brown sauce was excellent. Separately I ordered yellowtail with jalapeño, white tuna with yuzu, and the Cajun salmon and the Cajun tuna were all very delicious. The sauces for those fish perfectly complemented the Cajun spice with a citrus and yuzu sauce. The sauces on those fish were very thin and not overbearing at all. The mains we ordered were the hot and sour soup with dumplings, Thai red curry with chicken, beef teriyaki, and quite a few of the sushi and sashimi. The hibachi beef combination was very flavorful and the steak cubes were well portioned and cooked perfectly tender. Everything was fresh and delicious. Perfectly cold temperature of the sushi and sashimi fish and very well presented. Please keep in mind the appetizer portions are large and shareable, so don't do what we did and keep your hungry eyes in their sockets and you'll be fine. I took pictures of the menu and every dish is clearly photographed. I'm very excited this is a new place near our gym and we'll be coming back here often. Food was good. Got all you can eat $67 for two people. BUT We left and two workers followed us out of the store and onto the sidewalk over a tip. Came out at us demanding a tip and saying we had to tip 18% mandatory. I eventually said fine and tried to tip 5$ which is more than enough considering you place your own order on an iPad and they bring it out to you. But that wasn't enough for them and they demanded that we tip at least 10$ or they wouldn't let us leave. will NOT be coming back. And I've been a loyal customer here for 3 years since they opened. I have been to this restaurant at least 5 times in the past, but unfortunately for them, this will be my last visit. Their hot dishes are ok but their sushi has serious temperature issues. I ordered a few pieces of white tuna and the sushi came out like warm, really warm like scary warm. Sushi should not be served at that kind of temperature and I regret eating that piece of white tuna. I have reported this incident to the Nassau County Dept of Health and you can also report them at this link below too. Try any of their sushi pieces and you will know what I am talking about as the fish served is not good and too warm. Secondly, they have some premium menu items and the way they word their restriction is confusing, probably due to them not being able to explain things in English properly. What is the point of an all you can eat sushi restaurant if I can have only 1 piece per adult. Third, watch out for their pricing. The menus that they give you list the incorrect and lower price. When the bill came and I questioned the charge, they told me oh, the menu hasn't been updated so they can pretty much charge you whatever they want. The dinner price is $36.99 if you pay with a credit card & $34.99 if you pay with cash. I had a special 15% promo coupon text if paid with cash only. Since I am already paying with cash, I should have been charged $34.99 cash price - 15% discount which comes out to $29.74 but the restaurant decided to charge me $36.99 credit card price -15% discount which comes out to $31.44. I have also reported this overcharging by the restaurant to the Nassau County Dept of Consumer Affairs. If you have also been overcharged by this restaurant, you can report them at this link here too https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/1547/Consumer-Affairs Finally, the last complaint takes the cake and it was also reported by a previous Yelp review too. When the bill finally came, the bill automatically lists an 18% gratuity. In Nassau County, unless the restaurant specifically states on their menu or any sign inside the restaurant saying that an 18% gratuity is charged, it is illegal. Most restaurants I believe, put an automatic 18% gratuity for a larger party for like 6 or more, but we were only a party of 4. As a matter of principal, I did not put down an 18% gratuity out of principle. The waitress takes the check and comes back and demands the 18% gratuity. I then ask her why, tipping is optional and I don't have to put down an 18% gratuity. She basically harasses me and gives me no choice but to give an 18% gratuity. I should have held my ground out of principle and told her that I am leaving and if you think I short paid the bill, then you can go ahead and call the police, which I should have done but I have decided to file a complaint with the District Attorney of Nassau County and the Nassau County Dept of Consumer Affairs by the link below https://www.nassaucountyny.gov/1547/Consumer-Affairs Also most of the waitress staff don't know how to speak nor communicate in English properly and I.C.E. probably needs to go there and check all the worker's identification to prove that they belong in this country legally. They have also been increasing their prices lately where the value proposition is not worth it anymore. Their dinner price is $36.99 now but if you compare the quality and the quantity of food that you get over at Mizumi located in Little Neck, NY for $43.99. For $7 more, you get so much better quality and quantity of food over at Mizumi. I would suggest you go to Mizumi and you won't ever come back to Sakura anymore. Sakura deserves to go out of business and I hope they do since they will be probably getting a visit from the Nassau County Health Dept, Dept of Consumer Affairs and the District Attorney for their business practices. The menu offers such an extensive variety of sushi, sashimi, appetizers, and so much more. I was very happy to see this one open up in Bellmore and I love it just the same. I'm almost reluctant to share my real delight in Sakura, because it seemed to be a well preserved secret and I'm afraid that if I share it, the present qualities of very attentive service and the generous and well prepared food may suffer. There are two parts to dining here, with one side for buffet dining, the other for more traditional dining, with a diverse menu that includes excellently prepared hibachi food, thankfully served without the customary theatrics that usually accompany this fare. We arrived on weekdays for the two occasions we dined there and we saw a lot of take out going out alongside a nearly empty dining room. Came on Saturday 3/15 for their premium dinner. This was the worse ayce we have ever eaten. The best thing we ate were the hagan daz ice cream. The premium menu was MISSING 25% of the items advertised on their menu such as the lamb chops, steamed oysters, Chu toro and toro roll. Other items on the premium menu, when food arrived, they were so mediocre. Too much batter on the shrimp with walnut, Peking duck piece barely covered the bun and was not cut today. On the regular menu, the sushi appetizers such as the salmon tartar was all filler item and mango, the fried rice cake had some questionable spicy tuna on top, the kani salad didn't mix in the mayo but instead had a big blob of mayo in a bed of imitation crab. Ultimately, even the other sushi we ordered tasted questionable like the white tuna, other white fish. Dessert was bad as well other than the prepackaged stuff. Fried chocolate ice cream had a thick layer of the batter, no green tea in the green tea ice cream. Extremely pointed. Bill was $35 bucks a person plus tax and tip. Stay away.. read more
