The stores look like they are closing, on my last visit there was very little merchandise in a seasonal climate where Fall should be in full swing. It appears that the online business has higher end merchandise and interestingly enough while there is little brick and mortar to actually see and feel things you would think that they would use this to their advantage. Don't let the 'OFF' in Saks 5th fool you. While it is a fraction of what you'd pay in the iconic Saks 5th Ave with all their luxurious goods, you're still paying a pretty penny on clothing, shoes and accessories in this White Plains location on Tarrytown Rd. Although this store is neither too big or small, it's super tidy, plus racks are neatly labeled and organized. No matter what your taste is, you can find casual clothes (think work-from-home COVID-edition styles) next to an interesting dose of cutting-edge pieces which I love. There's a nice shoe department but I wish they'd cater more to size 10 & 1/2s. Despite not having many sale reps working the floor, outside of that, cashier service is always polite and honestly- I've never had issues. read more

After shopping at the store and spending hundreds, my car was booted and disabled just outside Saks off 5th store at White Plains, NY. The parking security demanded $165 in CASH to remove the boot. Again the parking is free for all. There are no even parking meters. I even called police and they said don't bother. Two hours later, I had no choice but to pay. Purchased a winter coat. When I went to wear the coat the zipper didn't work. Called store, they said to contact the vendor as it was defective. Contacted vendor, no luck, they said contact SOF directly. Round and round in circles. SOF wouldn't offer a store credit. Bad customer service. Stuck with this coat (that is adorable) but cannot wear. To get the zipper fixed will cost a fortune, more money spent! Oh well, that's what you get for trying to get a good deal....... I love Saks Off Fifth, but recently, the people they employ at this location are straight up rude. I went to buy a blazer the other day, and I told the lady I was not interested in signing up for a credit card. She immediately said "if you let me finish" and then proceeded to try to sell me this card I was not interested in. She furthermore turned around to laugh at me to another woman working at the desk out of nowhere. When I went to pay, I pulled out my credit card and she literally scoffed in my face. I've worked in numerous customer service jobs and I have never met such a nasty employee. It is frankly shocking to see that this store could employ a worker with such a lack of social etiquette. This occurred on Sunday, September 17th. It really stinks because I love to buy my professional work clothing here, but I know for sure the last thing I will be doing on my day off is getting disrespected just trying to check out my purchase. More merchandise(bigger selection) than the Nordstrom rack down the road, and while shopping in this location almost weekly, I have witnessed more and more how management talks(treats) employees. Suffice it to say, is not ideal. Embarrassing employees in public, specially in a place where they have to interact with customers, causes resentment, not the correction that was perhaps intended. The cute lady that at times seems to pop out of nowhere and describes herself as the "store manager", seems to be the main culprit, and if that's the example she leads by, it wouldn't be past the realm of possibility that the remaining people in leadership roles under her might engage with subordinates in a similar manner. Maybe hoping for better things is futile, but consider this, if you just fire those who "don't do right" by you, and hire a new crew to treat them like crap, how long will it take until you run out of people to work for you?? read more

As promised an update to my previous review. Not much has changed. The men's department is still pretty meh. Sticking to Paramus or their new website instead. Selection for men was just ok. Didn't notice really any luxury brands. The service wasn't that great. Most employees seemed standoffish. I think the Nordstrom Rack in White Plains is better. Maybe they're still ramping up. Off 5th took over this location when Loehmann's closed up shop.... RIP to my Loehmann's Diamond Club Card -_- but I digress... I've been here about 10 times so far and this is what I've observed: Clothing selection? Great so far.... Labels, labels and more labels... Quality merchandise surrounds every inch of the store. I primarily shop online through off 5th so I'm very familiar with their in-store promotion program 'More card' which gives good deals/discounts, advance sales notice. They have clothing for kids!!!! At great prices!!! And adorable! Walking into the store? Somebody fix that damn alarm system....please! Every time I walk in or out, I buzzed!! It's a bit unnerving considering the last time I was there was to do a mail order return and had literally a lip gloss, my wallet, cell phone in a tiny purse and felt like SWAT was about to descend upon me when I exited the store!!! Seriously! The security guard stopped me and requested that I open my purse and show him said items.... Ummmm, I loved those Manolo stilettos but they weren't going to fit into my purse bro.. The staff? There isn't a "familiar" feel to the place yet like Loehmann's had... (Yes, I know sometimes Loehmann's was hit or miss....again, I digress)..the place feels a little desolate. Not many customer service reps around. And, sometimes when you saunter in for a quick shopping fix, you want a salesperson to say something nice about the shoes you're deciding upon in the mirror, the purse you're maneuvering in your hand to determine if it is "you" or the clothes you twirl in.... In other words, a friendly, well placed second opinion or "how can I help you/help you decide" wouldn't kill them. I get the store is relatively new (about a year?), but good grief! This isn't Walmart off 5th.... A little customer service would be nice. Prices? Not bad at all! Good value.... A little higher than a tj max, but of course, better variety of apparel/accessories. Its hard to walk out of here empty-handed. Overall: I will continue to shop on their online site (it's so convenient!!!!!!!...said in a squeaky kids voice! Lol) but I will return to make my in-store purchases. Just hope they improve their customer service a bit...smile more and start remembering customer faces.... Trust me! They have designer pieces at excellent prices. Connie is an exceptional salesperson. She helped me find the perfect Lagos bracelet. Probably the best discounter in our area. They have a great selection of designer labels on in-season merchandise. The store has nice lighting, departments are well organized and the layout is good. You don't feel like you're shopping at a flea market here, which can be a common denominator among these off price stores. I found the shoe department to be extremely lackluster, but other than that, no complaints. read more

While this newly remodeled store looks great (for an outlet store) I found the selection to be a lacking a bit... especially for men. I always shop at this location, and usually I don't get much help and get the occasional greeting from an employee. It was never much of an issue for me because I usually knew where to find the items I wanted. However recently I went into the store to look for a pair of boots for a special occasion, and a nice young man named Bryan greeted me at the door. He was very professional and I could even sense his kindness through the mask he had on. After a bit of chat he asked me if I needed help and I stated that I knew what I was looking for in the shoe department. He chatted with me as I walked to the back section of the store and then stated if I needed any additional help to let him know. After I found a pair of boots I went to the register and he was there ringing up customers and he ended up being the person that rang me up. I was never throughly explained how the Saks store card worked and how I could use it but since he had some extra time to speak with me and ask me if I was a consistent shopper at Saks he helped me realize a store card would be beneficial. I did end up opening the card and I used it in another location since then. I just really appreciated the extra effort from him since we are in a pandemic and times are changing and there are new challenges in customer service. Thanks Bryan! read more

I was so excited to hear that this store was coming to my area since I take a monthly drive to the Woodbury commons store, which I LOVE! Did I mention that I LOVE Off 5th at Woodbury commons?!?!?! Let's begin with the fact that I carried 14 items to the fitting room (only one of which was in the clearance racks). 11 of these items had either a hole or snagged fabric. They even hung a knit sweater on a regular hanger that looked like I had alien spikes on my shoulders (a sweater priced at $253.00 in store. When I walked out of the fitting room, I mentioned to the rep [same one who was on the phone.... We'll get to that later] that maybe they should hang the sweater on pants hangers instead, she said thanks and proceeded to put the exact sweater on the same hanger). I found a really cute Alice&olivia sweater; there were 4 on the rack, none had a price tag. I proceed to the checkout line just for pricing since I'd yet to try on the clothes in my hand. The rep tells me $39.99. I ask for a label. He says "don't worry. I'll write it up for you. When you get back to the register, it will be ready." Great! I go to the fitting room with the items that looked like they'd been in my grandmother's attic sans moth balls. As I'm trying on my clothes, there's a lady in one of the rooms talking on the phone about a "side chick".... Language: vulgar... I was stunned when she ended the convo with "I gotta go. I'm still working" I walk out with 3 items (one, of course, being this cute sweater). Long story short, I get to the register, and this rep has left for the day withOUT printing the label AND the price of the sweater has jumped to $89.99. I explain to the cashier that I had JUST come to the register 15 min prior and the previous cashier gave me a completely different price. She blinks hard, then simply says "do you not want it"? Price point is not necessarily the issue; it's more the principle and her attitude that pissed me off. Needless to say, there is definitely a selection, but the clothes are not cared for; not at the price point they're expecting us to pay. And the workers..... Well.... Let's just say, I would rather spend my money on gas and toll to get to Woodbury... read more

on tarrytown rd in white plains away from the downtown area you will find saks off 5th which once house the now gone forever loehmans . plenty of parking as this store shares a lot with many other stores . ok it's about finding designer stuff at up to 70 percent off which is fine for ladies, men, and others who like shoes and accessories but as i look around it seems the clothing and shoes are the designer rejects that the larger stores can't or won't sell, some of the styles and colors are really garish and wild. i did find a few shirts that seem ok to wear in public but shoe department is lacking and most of the mens clothing looks like what christian bale wore in american psycho (too preppy for me). with all that in mind the store was filled on a sunday early afternoon with shoppers looking for bargains. the place is spacious , neat and organized for the most part and sales staff are not around to curb your browsing . overall it's ok but i still like my tjmaxx, marshalls, etc when i need to pick up decent clothing at fair prices. 3.5 stars overall. read more

Living 5 minutes away from the store is great and convenient which allows me to shop frequently. Plenty of items to choose from, price is right, however the customer service is horrible. This is a brand from Saks Fifth where you should at least be greeted at the door with a "welcome to Saks off fifth" or "can I help you with anything?".. The reps seem very uninterested in working there and uninterested in helping you with a purchase to make more money for the store. read more
