This place is such a gem, and we're really lucky to have this cozy spot in BMT. From the accessibility, to the service, to the food, and the fair pricing--5/5. We love coming here for a substantial meal and although we've had a little bit of everything from the menu, the sushi paired with fried rice is a can't miss! Keep up the great work!

My wife and I go here at least three times a month we love it is our go to dinner establishment and at the Asheville area even though it's 20 minutes from home, we make the trip and we enjoy it every time

We hit this spot kinda late on a Sat. night, about 30 min. before close. Service was a bit lacking I think due to that. We never got any drink refills and had to wait for boxes and bill. The space was a little clustered due to cleaning for closing. We enjoyed the crab ragoons the filling was delicious althought they were a bit well done outside. We got hibachi dinners which were good. It came with miso soup which we didn't like but never had it before. The dinners themselves were good but nothing special. It comes with plain rice but you can get brown or fried rice for additional charge. Overall probably not a place we'll hurry back to but easy in and out and good location for us if we want Japanese food.

Tucked into a little strip mall that's tucked into a gorgeous wooded area. When we drove up the patio was full and there were a few folks in the entry. But they had us seated in just a couple minutes. Lots of locals here and lots picking up Takeout so we knew that was a great sign. Service was excellent! We were well taken care of but not bothered. The drinks, appetizers and meals were all really good. Fresh and flavorful. If you're in the area, give this place a shot, you won't be sorry.

Stopped for a quick lunch - Served daily from 1100 to 1500 (Except weekends) Tip: Closed on Tuesdays and their hours are from 1100 to 2130 and the weekdays are not as busy as the weekends and service is much quicker and less crowded than the weekends and you'll hav a choice of seating with less noise than on the weekdays. Weekday Lunch Specials include a Bento Box or Sushi or Sashimi Lunch Specials are served from 1100 to 1500 Their lunch special bento boxes include a spring roll, three (3) pieces of a California roll, and a choice of either miso soup or salad and selection of tempura, teriyaki, and Katsura. Their sashimi and sushi lunch specials include either a five (5) piece sushi or twelve (12) piece of Sashimi Lunch Special of the chefs assortment and choice that is served with a bowl of rice. Their two (2) or three (3) roll lunch specials comes with a choice of miso soup or salad with a ginger dressing and a choice from their traditional and various sashimi grade seafoods or vegetarian option rolls Or you can order off of their à la carte menu of that is the same on the weekends of a choice of sushi or sashimi rolls. (See photos of their lunch special and a la cart menus) Decided to have three (3) different spicy rolls in their three (3) roll lunch special today. Had a spicy, tune, spicy salmon and a spicy crab roll to see if I could distantly tell the differences in the sashimi grade seafoods and I could. The tuna and salmon were very fresh finely chopped pieces with hot chill sauce and the crab was very tasty as well All three (3) sushi's were "Delish" and I highly recommend and will be back to Sake Sushi located on Market Street in the Cheshire Village Center off of HWY 9 heading towards Bat Cave in Black Mountain, NC

Chicken ramen. Huge portion. Plenty of noodles.

I can't say enough great things about this place. The food was delicious and the service was so wonderful. Between all of us we tried the ramen, teriyaki, dinner bento boxes and udon noodles and everyone loved their meal. I thought we might be underdressed but they were warm and welcoming. I loved how fast the food came but quality was excellent. We are from out of town or this would be a definite repeat.

Charming sushi restaurant with good hot sake and sushi. I was surprised how cute this sushi place was and needed a nice break from traveling from Charlotte, North Carolina. Dinner was delicious. I had yellowtail and Alaskan sushi rolls. The sugar daddy had stir fried rice. He loved it!

Miso soup - ok I guess - I'm not a huge miso fan

Great little Japanese restaurant up here in the mountains of NC. The spring rolls were some of the best I've ever had. The presentation for all of the meals was top notch. The service was good and the prices weren't bad either. I ordered the chicken Teriyaki bento box so that I could try a lot of different things, and for $15, it was a great value. Ironically enough, the chicken Teriyaki was my least favorite part of the meal. It was ok, but the sauce was overly sweet, even for Teriyaki. Other than that, everything was delicious - the shrimp tempura, the California roll, the dumplings - all excellent! My husband ordered a steak noodle dish with GF buckwheat noodles and that was delicious too. All in all, we enjoyed it and were glad we gave it a try!

American size portions of sushi? They are ok but just not a fresh crisp presentation. The wait staff is kinda sketchy.

The vibes in the place are great too. The first night we had Jess. Jess is great - took amazing care of us. We did have a couple issues with the way the food came out. The manager got involved, and I have to say they take excellent care of you here. Excellent enough that despite our issues we came back later in the week. Jess wasn't there, so we got Xander and she also took excellent care of us! We explored some new tastes and sat on the patio, enjoying the view. Definitely a place we will return to, next time we are in Asheville.

It's Bourbon Thyme is a fantastic cocktail that paired really well with every item we ate too. We started with the wedge salad, which had. A lovely ginger dressing. The Tuna Tataki is a must, really nice rolled slices or raw tuna with the peppers and the ponzu sauce, truly amazing. The shishito peppers were wonderful and nicely charred with a great dipping sauce. The seabass may have been the tastiest item, the butter sauce and roasted lemon sauce was exceptional. We finished up with the carrots and bbq ribs, which were crispy on the outside but tender as you bit into the rib meat. Service was stellar as expected for any Michelin rated restaurant. I'm def coming back here soon, the bar looks nice and they have nice Ramen bowls and other items I want to try.

The staff were extremely helpful. I mentioned I was looking for vegetarian options, and the bar tender thoughtfully guided me through the various options on both the tapas and ramen menus. That made for a great experience. In terms of the food, I opted for the miso eggplant and the garlic butter broccoli. Both were excellent. The miso eggplant is served as well cooked Japanese eggplant with a light tempura treatment and somewhat sweet miso glaze. Not too heavy, but still delicious and nicely textured. The broccoli was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor. It made for a nice pairing. In terms of beer, they had a few different local beers on tap. I went for a local pale ale. Great. In any case, this place is highly recommended. I suspect their vegetarian ramen would probably be pretty good, but that was a little heavier than what I was looking for. It was nice to have a few other vegetable forward options available as a backup.

The entire bowl was phenomenal & I wished we had gone back there, the boiled egg they gave was also roasted and the bamboo shoots were fresh, the meat so tender and juicy, and the broth is very tasty!! I craving it while typing and a watery mouth! My partner and I shared a Miso Ramen and I wish we had something similar where I live!!! The decorations were cool and retro and the staff were nice, just an odd waitress but food is amazing!

We appreciate the Yelp recommendations to try Wasabi…read more I am often skeptical of places along a main tourist area but Wasabi is the real deal...at least for the area. We were quickly seated at the sushi bar and the restaurant filled up quickly with other lunch clientele after that time. Sushi chef was efficient and our eel roll was fresh and delicious. Only 8 pieces so not that large. Would have paid more for a larger portion as we were sharing everything. Hot melt in your mouth yummy shumai were devoured. I saved some wasabi to add a little spice. Tempura appetizer included 2 large shrimp and veggie assortment. All around good meal!

The service was great, I was seated immediately and my server was attentive without being intrusive. I ordered the yellowtail and scallion roll and the godzilla roll (tempura spicy tuna, tobiko, scallion, eel sauce & spicy mayo). My lunch appeared very quickly. Both were very good, the godzilla roll in particular was extremely tasty, the crisp crackle of the tempura blending perfectly with the satiny spicy tuna. The heat level was perfect, building over the course of eating the whole roll. This is definitely one of my favorite downtown lunch spots, and they deserve the accolades they have received as the best sushi spot in Asheville.
