I honestly don't remember all the things we ordered, because it was really not memorable. A few things that I do remember I will list here: Short rib: wasn't cooked all that great. Hubby said it was sad and just looked steamed and not pan fried or grilled like it should be. Beef Skewer: too chewy and over cooked Lion king roll: I was expecting the typical roll as this is usually my go to. This however, had cream cheese in it! Lion king rolls do not have cream cheese unless you get a Philadelphia roll. Seared salmon nigiri (I don't remember the actual name): this was good! I enjoyed this one a lot. French fries: good. But you can't go wrong with fries Since I don't remember all the things we got, as a first timer, I would say that I probably wouldn't come back again. Not for $39.99. They only offer the dinner pricing on weekends which I don't think is fair. I would rather go to tsunami sushi in pleasant a hill or Fairfield. I'll even go to Fuji sushi in Vacaville before I come back here unfortunately. It really looked promising! I know the just opened, but if the owner looks at these reviews, maybe they can make some changes. I know it's AYCE and you can't expect much, but other AYCE places and not even sushi, at least put a little effort in to the quality of food. The inside looked ok. Mediocre and nothing too fancy. Soft opening and not bad. The newly built interior space is visually soothing to go along with the mellow music. The sushi tastes fresh and is presented well although not fast. You order each item from the menu and as many as you can eat and the selection of sushi, appetizers and the like is enormous! Our sever was super friendly but there was a slight language barrier and several mistakes were made along the way and we ended up with a couple of things that we didn't order. They did automatically charge an 18% gratuity on our party of 5 too. Total bill with sodas was $280 for the 5 of us. They do offer a cash discount. Thick cut sashimi, many roll choices, good appetizers like soft shell crab and tempura, and lots of nigiri with a couple of premium nirigi options like sweet shrimp, ikura and scallop, and they were not "limited" like some ayce restaurants make premium stuff. I went to try Sake for the first time with my partner. We got seated immediately and the waitress took our orders. Throughout the night the service and food was good but towards the end we left disappointed. We were nearing our limit after 5 rolls and decided to get one roll to finish up. We waited 15 minutes until someone helped us and they took our order for a Spider Roll. We waited for 20 minutes until someone else asked us if we wanted anything else. We told them that we ordered the Spider Roll a while ago but never received it. The waiter then spoke with the chefs and he placed our order again. We once again wanted for 15 more minutes for our order. We never got our last order. At this point, we decided to just pay and leave because it was already 10 minutes from closing after waiting that period of time and didn't want to inconvenience the staff. It's pretty good if you ask me it does take while but makes sense there's only a few people making rolls and there's tons of orders, you don't have a designated waiter/waitress so they'll come up to you randomly if you don't have any food in front of you, even if you're waiting they won't know unless you tell them, and if you till them you're waiting they'll check how much longer on the spot. If you eat a lot of sushi just know it's not a game changer with the sushi but it's worth the all you can eat. We ordered seared tuna tartare, salmon belly, Mexican roll, Appian Way Roll, Fitzgerald Roll, Hot mama Roll, and a few others. The table loved the salmon belly and the seared tuna tartare The rolls didn't have a huge amount of rice (that was a plus) and the fish wasn't too small. Finally a AYCE Sushi place in the area! $27.99 for Lunch and $39.99 for dinner. $20.99 for kids 7y-12y, $12.99 for kids 4y-6y. A lot of room for big groups with 2 different seating areas. Looks like there's enough room for a lot of business. Man I came in with a plan and it was well worth it. I ordered nothing but sashimi, big orders. Sashimi was the star of the show. Beautifully plated and perfectly cut! My wife ordered some small sashimi dishes, Fitzgerald Roll, BBQ Short Ribs, Salt and pepper chicken wings, Seaweed salad, Fried Calamari. We shared the Unagi Hand Rolls. My son got Gyoza, Takyoaki, Miso soup and chocolate ice cream to finish. The east bay was hurting for a decent sushi spot on god, many places here have a low quality spread and you can really taste how bad that shit is. This muthafuckin spot though solid right here, theres actual quality in the tuna. i was a little taken back but lets see how this pans out in a year or 2 the quality may or may not go down. This place was the old Outback Steakhouse in Pinole. It's an all you can eat restaurant and we came for dinner. You place an order of what you want and they bring it to you. We came here right around 545 on a Thursday evening. Ordered two specialty rolls and 28 pieces of sashimi and nigiri. Definitely got our moneys worth at 40 bucks a person. Surprisingly really good for all you can eat, they make everything fresh as you order so while there's a wait, the quality was top notch. The rolls weren't drenched in sauce and had a nice balance. The nigiri was yummy and there was more fish than rice which I prefer. Sashimi was equally delicious! Our faves were the Appian way roll, and Fitzgerald was a close second (pictured). Our least favorite was the seared tuna and scallop nigiri. As it got closer to dinner time (630ish) the line out the door was getting long and the kitchen was getting a bit backed up but still would come here again. Given that they just opened, I would cut them some slack about this. They staff was also so nice and attentive! Everyone we interacted with was so polite. Firstly, the portion sizes for the price were very interesting. Ordering online, it says $3 for salmon sashimi, as in.. $3 a piece. Not a horrible ask until I got the damn thing and it wasn't even as long as my pinky finger. I've been to many Japanese restaurants before and the sashimi would never be so small. The rolls itself were pretty decent, nothing much to say other than the meal wasn't filling much and I lost my appetite quickly with how dissapointing it was. Don't get me started on the miso soup because that was like drinking some hot dog water ... The service is horrible here also. When I told them I had an order to pick up they didn't even ask what name it was under or anything, just to sit down. So we sat and waited, until I was like, "Hey wait they didn't even ask for what my order was, even though on my phone it says it's ready" so it took me going up to the counter and asking them to realize my order was already sitting on the counter for me, they just dismissed me entirely... I had such a bad experience at Sake that I literally created a Yelp account just to warn other people. I did not do the all-you-can-eat. This review is based solely on ordering from the 3- and 4-roll special, which should be the easiest thing on the menu. Timeline (aka the hunger games): * Sat there 40 minutes with no food. * At 45 minutes, food finally came out -- not my order. * At 55 minutes, I was still sitting there with nothing. Meanwhile, every table that ordered the buffet was getting plate after plate. So I have to ask: Was I not a priority because I didn't order all-you-can-eat? Sure felt that way. The real problem: I calmly told the manager what was going on. His response? He told me to wait while he "figured it out," then proceeded to answer a personal phone call and leave me sitting there even longer. No apology. No urgency. No solution. After the call, he told me to keep waiting. At this point I was starving and clearly invisible. When I finally said I was leaving, his response was a casual "Okay, bye." That tells you everything you need to know. I especially loved the Salmon Belly (melt-in-your-mouth good) and Yellowtail Jalapeño (perfect balance of heat and flavor). Service was friendly and fast, even with a packed house. Went there today on a Tuesday. It is no longer a soft opening. Greeted by staff and I give the staff a 10/10 for being pleasant, greeting us and being very attentive to our orders. The Ambiance and atmosphere def didn't feel like outback steak house. They changed the flooring, the booths, the decor, the bar and the color to give it that Japanese feel. Came around 530pm on a Tuesday and there were still some tables left. But When leaving around 7pm, I can see a huge line forming and lots of the tables were occupied, and people waiting. The food, OMG! Pinole area definitely needed a good AYCE Japanese sushi spot, and this place definitely delivered. We ordered over $200 of food for a party of 5, which isn't bad and we practically ordered everything on the menu to try. Felt like a big Mukbang for my family. I left there super full. $39.99 per person is not bad at all. The presentation of food and portion size of the items were perfect. Once again its all you can eat so go ahead and get your money's worth and chow down. I'm posting all my photos here and there was nothing on the menu that I didn't like. All the rolls I had were flavorful, fresh, not dry at all or have been sitting out. I hate when some places have sushi just sitting out but this place was made to order. All the fried items came out also made to order, hot and crispy especially the shrimp and vegetable tempura, chicken wings, and egg rolls. I even tried the chicken chow mien and OMG, the noodles had the sweet and savory Umami chow mien flavor I love. You must get that! They have a roll there called the "Richmond Roll and the Pinole Roll" and those were my new favorites compared to your usual unagi rolls, rainbow, or spider rolls which were definitely a hit as well. As far as the sashimi's, OMG the Salmon belly, the seared Salmon Nigiri and the Salmon Lover were oh so good as well. They had a Japanese version of honey walnut shrimp which was good and they had a small calamari that comes with 2-3 rings, nicely fried with lemon and even though they were small pieces, that calamari was so good. I ate a lot, even tried the BBQ short ribs, teriyaki chicken and miso soup. So flavorful, moist, not dry and grilled to perfection. I'm definitely coming back. So happy I live close by, almost can walk there if I have to. But Pinole came up on this restaurant. Even though its still new and Its being talked about in the community, I know this place will be a hit on the weekends and packed! Customer service was superb, nice staff, and I love if you don't know what a certain item is, they will gladly help you and tell you what's inside and cooked in with no problem, love how the staff comes around, takes away your plates that your finished with in a timely manner, and asks you if you have any questions regarding the menu always. My husband called to place a reservation when the staff told us it was free for birthdays with parties of 4 or more at a prior time eating at Sake. Upon trying to book a reservation over the phone with a staff member named Jeff, we mentioned that we have two birthdays in our party of 8. It was brought to our attention that it is only free for one birthday celebrant per party. We called back and asked to speak to the manager & that we would just do 2 separate parties of 4 so that both our birthday celebrants can be free. This person named Jeff who claims to be the manager did not accomodate our request for 2 separate reservations for 4 people each and said we wouldnt sit together. He said they don't make reservations for smaller parties. We politely asked to cancel our reservation for 8. He then mentioned he did not make the reservation to begin with. Which we thought was an unnecessary comment. From my husband's memory the staff member did not have great customer service nor a great tone in his voice. This is a hidden gem. Most all you can eat sushi restaurants have limits on how much food you can order at a time, overfill sushi with rice and lots don't offer sashimi. This restaurant wins on all three of these. We have been there twice with no waiting time. The servers are super efficient, entering your orders into a tablet and the food is delivered efficiently. The servers are also very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent for all you can eat. The sashimi was fresh and really high grade. We could not believe our eyes. The portions were big (you order sashimi by the piece, so not a big deal). We enjoyed the rolls which were delicious and full of flavor and fresh ingredients. Their drink menu is reasonably priced. Sunday (08/24) lunch Food selection could be better. They had items available for nigiri that they didn't offer for sashimi, which was a bummer - I'm looking at the unagi for this, which came in rather small slices on top of the nigiri. The...special (?) sashimi (#s 99-104) had too much sauce, that you could barely taste the fish. I tried some other sashimi and some of the fish could be better (fresher?). The mackerel especially was soft and somewhat breaking apart. Rolls and hand rolls were somewhat better, but I'm not a fan (more my wife's and son's) but same issue with selection Appetizers were more varied, but sizing needs help. I am not sure if they sized it based on group size (there were 3 of us) but giving us a small plate containing literally 3 pieces of fired calamari was pushing it a bit. Some of the items (soft shell crab, calamari) that had breading had too much and you can barely taste what the item was supposed to be. The bbq short ribs was probably the best item I had for lunch though (which I am still two minds on whether that's a compliment or not, haha) Service was Slow. I hope this is just growing pains, but the place wasn't even half full and they were already having issues. This is not usually something I would comment on, but considering you are limited to 90 minutes on an AYCE, and your time is dependent on how quickly the servers can come with the food, this seems to be something they need to work on, or they'll be accused of cheating customers. Another issue with this is that it was so slow, we tend to forget what we're still waiting on. It also didn't help that some of the servers didn't know what they were serving; it took 2 more people to ID the mackerel sashimi after it was delivered to our table, and I couldn't figure it out myself because of how the slices looked Price. Debatable, but our go-to sushi AYCE is the Fuji Sushi in Concord, and their weekend price is 75% of the price here, with hardly any wait on most of the items. read more

I was taken back and said i'm sorry? Can I place an order for take out. He answers again no. I answered with okay....Why? We are too busy. I was amazed at the response as I was told they were taking take out order. Maybe he just needed a hug because it was busy but that was not the way you treat customers. Actually 3 1/2 stars. We did not have an all you can eat sushi restaurant in this side of East Bay, at least not within the North Berkeley to El Cerrito to Richmond, to Pinole to Hercules, Rodeo. When we saw the sign replaced the "Australian theme steak house chain restaurant, we were anticipating for the opening of Sake. It was on a Thursday dinner during their soft opening, we did not make a reservation but we were being greeted and seated right when we walked in. We chose the bench seating by the sushi bar. The sushi bar was more like an opened kitchen for the sushi, no seating around the bar, neon yellow light boxes with the logo Sake above this sushi bar. I don't know why the owners chose this color theme, made it look like a fast food restaurant than a sushi restaurant, my husband and I were not fans over such neon bright lighting. There were 5 sushi chefs busy making the sushi for dine-in and take-out orders. The $30.99 dinner menu had a lot more items than the lunch menu, especially on the sashimi and nigiri sections, so I would recommend the dinner if you are more onto the sashimi and sushi. I decided to focus on the sashimi and nigiri while my husband ordered some appetizers: Shrimps Tempura, chicken wings and miso soup. They were just ok, as my friends went there the next evening after us, also said if they would rate the food A, B and C, the appetizers would be in the C rating and I agreed, I think they were more of stomach filling, not great, so skip those and focus on the sashimi and sushi. I ordered all the sashimi on the menu except for the mackerel and octopus. Please note all the sashimi on the menu was unlimited, however, they did not have Blue Fin tuna, nor uni but unlimited and they had a bit more choices than the other sushi all you can eat in Concord. #99 to #104 on the sashimi menu were seared and seasoned raw fish, the server said they were their house special and very popular, to us, they were over seasoned, the say sauce and spice over powered the flavor of the fresh fish, I saw the salmon belly amongst them but not with the sashimi (no seasoning), so I asked for a few pieces without the soy sauce, no spice and they were actually very delicious. The quality of the raw fish they had for the sashimi and nigiri were good and the thickness of the cuts allow the flavors of the fish come through. The servers were still new to the menu, I had to point to the menu to show them what we wanted. We asked for chocolate and strawberry ice cream and we got chocolate and vanilla, but the ice cream desserts were also unlimited, they were in individual cups, so getting one or two more was not a problem. The manager came to speak to us and to ensure we enjoyed the food, I think he saw me taking photos of the food, perhaps he thought I was one of those influencer. He told us they were from Sacramento, and he did not know why the owners chose this location, he was quite surprised to know they were the first all you can eat sushi restaurant in this area. There are rooms for improvement, not a fan on those heavy seasoned raw fish, the appetizers were not that great, like the unlimited sashimi. This was our first time trying this restaurant since it opened, and we were really excited to finally have an all-you-can-eat sushi spot close to home instead of always driving to Concord. My boyfriend and I went on Monday 11/17/25 around 6pm. The interior was beautiful, the music was relaxing, and the overall atmosphere felt calm rather than overwhelming. I also appreciated being able to order directly from the table. The hostess (unfortunately I did not catch her name) was very warm and welcoming, which made a great first impression. She also wished for us to get home safely as we were leaving which was very nice as well. I don't usually leave reviews, but since this place is still new, I felt it might be helpful. Unfortunately, we did run into a couple of issues: 1. The service felt disorganized. It was extremely difficult to get our server's attention, and we were forgotten about multiple times even though the restaurant wasn't busy. We ended up spending more time waiting than actually eating. My boyfriend even tried waving the server over a few times, but despite looking our way, he would walk off. To add to the confusion, several different servers came by at random times to take our order, even after we had already placed it. 2. The food quality was disappointing. I always try the Lion King roll and teriyaki salmon wherever I go since they're my favorites, but unfortunately, this was the weakest version I've had. The Lion King roll tasted overwhelmingly like it was just cream cheese, which made it unpleasant, and the teriyaki salmon was dry, chewy, and difficult to finish.
