Having been to Sailor's many times before, we knew what to expect. Our neighbors wanted to try it, so we did. As usual, the food was just average, though the prices were not. I had a Black Grouper with crabmeat topping. The dish far too salty, overpowering a great piece of fish. My neighbor had a Mahi dish, with an extremely salty sauce, so we were both disappointed. The ladies both had beet salad, which was fine. Service was exceptional throughout the evening. The best of Sailor's really is the ambiance. Situated on a beautiful marina with many great vessels to look at, it is a beautiful setting. My take is that if you can put up with average food at a premium price, you will love it. If not, have a cocktail there and dine elsewhere. read more

Located next to a Stuart marina, the view of the water and boats are lovely. We sat on the outdoor patio which was nice but the gnats were flying around and it was a little warm. They had a singer with guitar playing music. Shared the Beet Salad $9.95, crab cake appetizer $16.95, and Grouper $39.95. They slit the entrée for $6 and added extra mash potatoes and green beans. Only thing they have going for it is their location. But best to walk as there is parking is hard to find. First off the servers acted like we were bothering them when asked a question. I guess thats the service you get when they are guaranteed an 18% gratuity on top. Ended up at the inside bar and got ignored while watching two sets of people come up after us and get attended to. Wife said the escargot was really good, our tuna nachos were good. But unimpressed with the shrimp tempura and was told they were out of fries. Worth trying once. read more

Recommend making a reservation in season at this delightful spot off the marina. We opted to sit at the bar and have appetizers and drinks. Vega was an amazing bartender and was fun to chat with. My husband and I played, "what's their story?" and I think Vega and Christine thought we were nuts. Just a lil fun making up stories about how patrons met or if they were on first dates, etc. The band was just getting started as we were leaving so it looked as if everyone was going to enjoy the night. Stopped by here for lunch and drinks after boating a bit. The drinks are phenomenal, especially my Bloody Mary! I ordered fish and chips and it didn't disappoint. Crispy crust surrounding succulent Cod. Perfect. My husband ordered the portobello sandwich with truffle fries which he said was okay. The portobello was smashed thin and the fries were a bit underwhelming. The couple we were with ordered a salmon over arugula dish and a fish taco dish which both said wasn't as good as expected. Maybe the dinner service is more specialized. In any case, you won't be disappointed in their wonderful cocktails and as far as I'm concerned, definitely try the fish and chips! read more

My mother in law booked this for our rehearsal dinner, and the staff made everything perfect and anticipated our needs and was very prompt with food orders, drink orders, and even stopped to have small talk with us. Amanda was a wonderful planner and assisted us along the way with picking menu options, and even got a specialized menu for my vegan mother and step father. The atmosphere here is incredible! Came in for Mother's Day lunch, we didn't have a reservation and were seated right away despite the place being fully packed. The service was fast and friendly the entire time. The food was okay, I enjoyed my salmon & potatoes but the string beans were in serious need of seasoning. Same goes for the seafood pasta, it was totally bland. The chicken dish was pretty good. We where welcomed yo a packed lobby with a smile and given a pager, I was expecting a long wait... instead in 15 minutes all 4 humanas and 3 small dogs where seated in the patio overlooking the Marina, not more that 3 minutes before we had iced water and the waiter (super helpful) showed up to offer drinks, we where hungry so went directly for truffle fries and they did not disappoint. We ordered fish and chips ( literally better than in the UK) beer batter fluffy crust on white firm fish perfectly cooked. A mahi sandwich that was pretty large and a beet salad with salmon. All plates where generous and tasted amazing. We not always go for desert but the waiter (amazing) enticed us to try them and we had key lime pie and an orange cake, both amazing! I came to this restaurant for a view. There were huge black umbrellas covering our view which shielded us from the sun but completely took away the views I came to this waterfront restaurant for. I asked about it twice and was told they remove them when the sun isn't so bright but yet never removed. We got there at 6:30 so this should've been done by 7. The outdoor tables should have tablecloths. The indoor tables have them. My table was old plastic and the water from our glasses made the table a skating rink. I thought this was a higher end restaurant (has valet parking) but no tablecloths? Also too many flies! The waitor we had was nice. The food came out on time. Well our Saturday afternoon brunch was a bummer here. While our food from the kitchen was quite good, the bar crew needs some basic education on food handling. Both my friend and I ordered Bloody Mary's while sitting at the bar. During the process of preparing them we noticed a large amount of cooked bacon sitting out in the open. What was significant about this was the fact that we could clearly see flies landing on the open bacon. One is bad enough but it was several flies. My buddy finally spoke up to one of the bartenders and pointed out the issue of the flies on the bacon and the need for them to address this food issue. Both he and I are also former restaurant owners. To our amazement the bar tender grabbed an aluminum tin and picked the fly contaminated bacon up and placed it in the tin and covered it. In addition the bartender appeared to have an attitude over my buddy pointing this food handling issue out. I guess the bar staff don't realize that flies crap all over stuff including exposed food. This is a major health violation when it comes to sanitation. My advice to the management is you need to ensure that your employees are handling food safely. In this case the bacon should have been thrown out and not used for someone else's drink. Guys you can do better! read more

Spending a week in the marina, I've eaten here a few times. The staff are very attentive however the food sucks and is way overpriced. Entrees are $40-50+ Because of the view, music every night, I could tolerate the inflated price but you can eat better at Dennie's or outback. Go for happy hour, have a couple drinks then walk into town for dinner. read more

We stopped in here after we visited the boat show. We walked to the show after parking in the downtown area. The restaurant is at the south end of the little bridge. I was hesitant to stop based on the reviews but it was a beautiful day, the restaurant was hoppin' and there was outside seating. The service was excellent and the food was good. We started with conch fritters with entrees of a Sailors Choice salad and Dolphin Rachel. The entrees were the best items. The conch fritters were a little greasy. We were there on a Sunday afternoon and there was a live band beginning to play as we were leaving. Would definitely go again to enjoy another beautiful day on the water. read more

Last Saturday, we went for dinner. Our server Nicco did a wonderful job from start to finish. Food was delicious all four of us enjoyed the fish dishes we selected. Music was nice. This place was awesome! I'm not a Florida resident but my parents are. So whenever I come visit I love checking out different places and indulging in non land locked seafood. They have visited Sailors return before, but this was my fist time visiting. We used street parking and walked the board walk to check out the scenery and ended up at sailors return. Thankfully there was outdoor seating available so we grabbed a 4 top and enjoyed the live music. The drinks were awesome! I had Hendricks and cucumber, maybe it's easier to get cucumber in Florida in the winter because I feel like every time I ask for it at home I get a sorry try back in the summer. Food was delicious!
