I took a lesson from Captain Gaelyn because I am not yet confident sailing off into unknown waters on my own. I brought along three people and they had a great time just hanging out while we cruised around the beautiful scenery during the lesson. Even though I'm ASA 101 and 103 certified, I still learned quite a bit from Captain Gaelyn in just our short lesson. She was patient and willing to do enough repetition of the maneuvers with me until I got comfortable. And everything she said was very informative. I can't say enough about Capt. Gaelyn and the sunset sail we just did. We booked a 4 hour private sail with her strictly on the great reviews on yelp and TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed! I was a little concerned about the weather showing rain on the weather app but as she told us it was all just fine. We sailed in the sun, even had to use sunscreen even though you could see clouds looming over the mountains inland. This is very typical here which I didn't know. Her hospitality, kindness and stories made it that much more enjoyable. We talked at times and other times just enjoyed the peace listening to the wind and water. Her knowledge and experience put us at ease within the first 5 minutes, you could tell she truly loves what she does and she allowed us to just sit back and enjoy it with her. Thank you Capt. My boyfriend and I had the best time sailing the Gaelyn! Gaelyn started our experience with her by promptly replying to all e-mails, texts, and calls during the booking process. When we got to Hawaii she texted us to confirm that we were still planning on coming and asked if we needed directions. We didn't as she had excellent directions in the confirmation e-mail she had sent me when we booked our trip. Once we got to the boat our excitement only increased. The Kaikiwi is a beautiful boat. This was my first time sailing and Gaelyn did an excellent job of putting me at ease. We were able to bring our lunch and drinks for the afternoon aboard and once we set sail we enjoyed the sunshine and water. We sailed with Gaelyn for 3 hours enjoying the bright blue waters and the sights of Honolulu, Waikiki, and Diamond Head. Gaelyn is easy to talk to and fun to be around. They took great care to honor the family wishes and their attention to small details like presenting a certificate with the coordinates to memorialize the location was truly heartfelt. Since that first encounter, my family and friends have sailed with Captain Gaelyn and Tracey on the catamaran every Fourth of July over the past eight years. As a lifelong resident, the opportunity to see the evolving Honolulu skyline at night, combined with a front row seat to fireworks directly overhead always guarantees a spectacularly memorable experience. A consummate professional, Captain Gaelyn constantly demonstrates an unrelenting commitment to the safety of her passengers while ensuring their maximum enjoyment with every aspect of the cruise. She and Tracey take great pride in accommodating the needs of all of the passengers and their focus and dedication to providing a great experience is unsurpassed. That dedication was evident a few years ago when I procrastinated and attempted to book the cruise during the week of the Fourth of July. Although she had committed her ship for another event, Captain Gaelyn called in some favors and was able to secure a vessel with one of her competitors after I notified her that I was unsuccessful with my attempts. She declined my offer of a finder's fee, and participated as a crew member for her competitor to ensure that we would receive the same levels of service that she and Tracey routinely provide. While my delay in booking resulted in a loss of business for her, it was evident that her only concern was that we would have a safe and enjoyable evening.
