They kind of have a choose your own adventure approach, so my group and I elected to snorkel for a bit and then sail for the remainder of our 3 hour charter. The wind made the sailing a bit spicy so it was truly a blast! Gehrig and Wes were awesome! Gehrig was super helpful and jumped in the water with us while we snorkeled to point out a few fish and turtles. We had an awesome time on our charter, the Sea Scape! It was a beautiful boat with tons of space to lounge, which was perfect for our large group. My cousins and I (two of us live here, two don't) chartered the Sea Scape for a private 3 hr cruise and it was wonderful! Captain Mikey and First Mate Marcelo gave us a wonderful cruise, complete with several whale sightings. We were disappointed in the overall experience with Tradewind Charters at the price we paid. We did a private charter for 9 people for 4 hours. The cost was $2700 for a 40 ft catamaran. It included mini-water bottles (no other food or drinks), snorkeling and sailing. We have chartered many boats like this before. They have been cheaper and provided more food/drinks. Paddle boards were not fulled inflated making them extremely difficult to use. You anchor in a spot with huge turtles and TONS of other people. It would be great to find more private spots but they said they could not do that. The bigger issue we had was that the captain was out of town so his daughter was sailing the boat- which was great. We are all about bad-a$$ chicks. But she had to take phone calls constantly due to scheduling other charters. So the music kept cutting out. She was snapping at the other girl on deck and short with everyone. It was not pleasant to be around. At that price, I expect good service and maybe juice and cheese and crackers? My family and I booked the entire boat for our snorkel cruise. It's hard to leave a bad review when you spend the day in the middle of the ocean. We had a great time. I gave 3 stars because first, once we all started getting ready to go snorkel, they realized ohhh we have no childrens masks. We booked the cruise with 6 children in celebration of my daughters 6th birthday so not being able to allow ANY of the children to snorkel was a huge downer. Especially because they publicized "fully equipped". Secondly, our cruise was booked for 11-2 and it wasn't until I got to my car at 1:45 after a 10 minute walk to the car did I realize... did we just get jumped a whole 1/2 hour??? I left a nice tip because the young man who helped us is the water was fantastic. He's training to be a pilot. He helped the kids in the water and even acted as a human tug boat for them. At the end if the day we had a great time and would have left a better review but when I emailed the company about our experience with the 1/2 short and zero kids snorkels.. it was complete crickets. read more

I rented the morning sail and snorkel with Captain Sam for a photo shoot. It was amazing! We saw dolphins on our way out and hundreds of fish and lots of sea turtles once we arrived to the snorkeling spot. Sam was a great captain as well. The tour made for the most epic photos! Went on to trade when charters with the go! pass for Hawaii with my family We are very dissatisfied with the service we were given as well as the location and amount of people that were in the area he brought us to an area where we were supposed to snorkel to watch turtles and other fish there were almost none because we were with two other companies doing the same thing at the same time with all the people in the water from all companies when we arrived. If you want to go to work crappy area with almost with a whole bunch of people and a douche bag of a captain go here otherwise I wouldn't recommend this for anyone. We felt very uncomfortable being on the boat and then even more uncomfortable not being able to go back to land for over two hours in the situation I would not recommend for anybody ever. This was by far the best thing my group and I did while visiting Hawaii. Response to book was prompt, we were able to book 2 days before the actual boat tour which we thought would be impossible. We were greeted by Captain Rich & Josh upon arrival. They were super informative and accommodating. I would highly recommend these two! 10/10 All in all, they made us feel very welcomed and they were super chill and let us do our thing. I'm surprised they were even able to put up with our group. lol The boat was well equipped, clean, and spacious. Definitely exceeded my expectations! From beginning to the end the communication, experience, and professionalism were on point. I was looking for a venue to have a 30th birthday party and Captain Ken responded promptly to my request. Captain Ken was very adaptable to my requests since I was planning a surprise birthday. He understood my situation and really tended to my needs for the party. I reserved a date and had to put a down payment. The services offered on the boat ride were open bar, decorations, food, cake, music, and etc. but of course with an additional expense. I've rented the boat for 3 hours because they only offer 3 hour blocks, but you pay per hour. Between the times of planning Cheryl one of the receptionist or planners had a wonderful attitude and kept in contact with me if I had any questions. She was really helpful through the whole process. The night of the boat ride, it was epic! The captain of the boat was Captain Paul and Wes as the bartender. As for decorations I brought a happy birthday banner and some pictures to post around the boat, but it had to be tied down with zip ties. I believe bringing decorations are limited such as balloons, streamers, but of course the boat does provide a party planner if needed. I've also brought a can koozie for everyone, which was a great idea since people would be holding their drinks. The music was played by one of my friends through his phone since they did have an aux cord and a bluetooth option. I also brought my own food, so that's another option too. Along with motion sickness medicine for people if they needed. The ride was smooth, and the weather was nice and chilly. The view was perfect because I was able to see the city lights, which really peaked my experience for a boat. The Captain and bartender were polite and did not complain about how drunk everyone was. Our family of 9 recently arranged a charter with Tradewinds Charters for a sailing catamaran experience during our stay on Oahu. We had an excellent crew on the charter. However, we were very disappointed to learn when we arrived at the marina that we were being switched to a powered catamaran that was basically a floating party barge. Although we were booked months in advance, Tradewinds Charters made no prior attempt to notify us of our change in the sailing experience for which we had paid. It should be noted that Tradewinds Charters knew that there was an issue with our reserved boat, the Sea Scape, about a month prior to our reservation date. Although we did have an excellent crew, we would not recommend using Tradewinds Charters for your charter experience in the future. read more
