It was quite confusing to find the meetup point at the beginning, but asking the hotel staff did help us getting there. We went on the high-tide day so needed to walk a bit from the usual boarding area. Probably helpful to remind people wearing slippers as you'd need to take shoes off. They did provide proper and plenty storage spaces for your footwear on the boat (appreciated!). Drinks were pretty much bottomless and they had their very own Mai Tai so you could really enjoy the 'complete Hawaiian package'! The only problem with high tide day, it meant be prepped to get wet and going on and off the boat would be quite tricky as you needed to manage timing to avoid the tide from getting you soaking wet. I was unfortunately not the pro and literally got half-bottom wet, getting off the boat LOL. Paid off by the gorgeous sunset view!!

My partner loves turtles, which is why we were so eager to find a memorable experience during our next trip. We found the Living Ocean Tours Turtle Canyon experience through Viator and paid about $80/person which we felt was incredibly reasonable. We saw prior reviews stating that the best time to go is early morning, so we decided to take the first boat out. This was honestly a pro tip as we were not only one of three small groups on the boat, but were also the first boat out to the canyon making the experience feel intimate and memorable! We met the amazing crew who were so knowledgable, friendly, and safety-savvy. The ride itself took about 15 minutes each way. Once we arrived, we felt totally confident swimming out with the provided snorkels, life jackets, and flippers after completing the safety lecture. The crew also emphasized protection of wildlife, instructing us to do our very best to stay 10 ft away or more from the turtles. At times, the turtles would come close to us without our knowledge, so we were also instructed on how to gently swim away when this occurred to maintain safe distance. We spent about an hour and a half total in the water, which was more than enough time to see loads of turtles. When it was time to return, we enjoyed complimentary snacks and drinks on the boat. Thank you Living Ocean Tours for providing us with the experience of a lifetime! We would recommend Living Ocean Tours to friends, family, or anyone looking for a safe, comfortable, and immersive turtle viewing experience!

Lola was our main guide and not only was she well educated, attentive, and a great tour guide -- she also would go above and beyond to make your tour incredible. None of the other guides from other companies got off their boards, let alone free dove 40ft to try to get the reef shark to leave its rock so everyone could see it. You'd relish the chance to recapture that thrill, if only for a moment! And that's why you'd want to book an evening catamaran with Holokai! The staff are incredibly accommodating to those with mobility issues...from the time you book, till you board ... then disembark. Not just one employee, but every employee, looks after your safety and enjoyment. Epic service! And if you're really lucky, there will even be enough wind for the crew to hoist the mainsail...and you'll spend at least part of the evening whizzing across the waves again! If there's a quibble with Holokai, their bar menu doesn't offer much for the Bourbon and Beer crowd. It leans too heavily into the "fruity drinks" side of things, at least for some in our party of four. Some logistics to know about: you can get validated parking at the Embassy Suites for $15 (4 hours). If you want free street parking, you'll need to come much earlier and give yourself extra time to get to check-in. Check-in itself is super easy annd it's inside the Outrigger near Monkeypod. The staff is genuinely kind and welcoming from the start. They give a quick safety talk and then walk you down to the boat You'll step into the water to board and you're not allowed to wear shoes, so honestly don't even bother bringing any. It's a catamaran with nets to sit on (my favorite spot) plus regular seating and plenty of space to move around. Unlimited drinks are included and the crew constantly checks in to see if you need anything. Both times I've gone we've seen whales, which feels so special! It is definitely choppy so if you get seasick easily this might not be your move. If you're a water baby though, you'll thoroughly enjoy this experience! It also gets windy, so bring a jacket. If you love being on the water, sunsets, and a fun but relaxed vibe, this is such a good option. Highly recommend!

We ha d a great time with the captain and the ladies who worked there. Outgoing personality and the best part was the dog named Sushi! We were extremely lucky to see some dolphins on our way back and they swam so close to us! We saw some turtles when we went swimming but I have to say that it was sort of crowded with the other boats around. It was difficult to really swim around with so many people. Other than that, we saw a few honu's and enjoyed the lovely swim! Highly recommend this excursion!
