We booked a turtle snorkeling trip with Trident. Easy to book, easy communication both before and after booking. Veteran-owned company with many veteran and military employees, which I love. Speaking of employees; they were all excellent - polite, informative, helpful. HQ location pickup spot was convenient and easy to get to. The boat was clean and well-maintained, with snacks and non-alcoholic) drinks provided. The weather wasn't great, so the water was choppy but the captain handled it well and we were comfortable. The crew told us the weather might mean less turtles, but there were plenty! Many other schools of interesting fish to swim with, as well. The gear was pretty new, though less sophisticated than I am used to. We took the video package, but the very cloudy/rainy skies washed out a lot of the vids a little bit. :-( The spot they took us to was, of course, popular, so I would pick your times to try to reduce crowding. We were off-season and mid-week yet it was still pretty busy. Good pricing, I thought, all around. All in all a great day, and I recommend! But if your families include younger children or oder adults I would say shop around, because it is a bit more hard-core than some. Perfect for me, but not for everyone on our trip. read more

I used my GI bill to take the Assistant instructor course at Trident with Marlena Neal. From the coordination with Cindy, to the course work, to the boat dives everything went super smoothly. I loved how systematic and organized they run their shop, they make the student and customer experience so so easy for you. They use top of the line gear for their customers, the boat is super nice, the staff moves like a well oiled machine, and they even add little creature comforts like lavender towels and gear setup and cleanup. The dive sites were beautiful and the dive staff was knowledgeable and kind. It was my first time diving in Oahu and I'm glad I went with Trident Adventures. There are many to choose from (especially in a tourist hot spot like Honolulu), so "Safety", "Customer Service" and "Gear" were my top priorities when choosing a dive company. When I saw that Trident Adventures was founded and operated by former Navy SEALS, that sealed the deal (no pun intended )... I've meet a few SEALS during my time in the Marines and they are the most highly trained, professional and courageous individuals you'll ever meet. Bottom line, they are "THE BEST"! If I trust them with my life in the battle field, I would definitely trust them with my life in the ocean. Day of the Dive, Crew: Mason (Boat Capt), Max and Tyler (Dive Master). They had plenty of snacks and drinks for the dive party. Conditions: Big Swells, Strong Currents (above and underwater). Gear: I brought my own Mask, Snorkel and Fins. The dive gear they provided was impressive! The BCD was a high-end ScubaPro Hydros Pro! Now I want one! They also provided a Shorty. Dive #1, Sea Tiger: It was my first time diving to see a wreck and it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!! Got a couple of good shots on the GoPro. Even got to see a sea turtle swimming along with us. Dive #2, Reef: Unfortunately, I had to pass on this dive cause I got sea sick. I should have listened to my wife and take Dramamine. Lesson learned! Overall Experience: I had a great time with the crew! Even though my 2nd half of the trip was spent sea sick, they did their best to help. Tyler even gave me ginger candy, which helped! I have been diving all over the world, Australia, Belize, Bora Bora Caribbean et cetera this had to be by far one of the top 5 coolest dives I've done. We went to someplace called crack pipe and ran into upwards of 10 giant sea turtles, an eel whose head was the size of a small child, as well as an up close look at a cigarette snail. ( one of the other divers brought it up from below it turns out it is deadly ) The captain was professional, the crew was attentive, And my 13-year-old daughter who is new to scuba diving also had a great time. I appreciated the short but succinct safety briefings, they did a great video package which was only 30 bucks. Snacks and drinks afterwards were all so good. Originally I had chosen them because we are staying at the Aluani resort and they were originally out of the four seasons next-door, after Covid they had to move to the aloha tower. Although less convenient , worth the trip. I will be back to do more of their highly recommended dives. Five stars read more

Scuba diving with Trident Adventures was such a exciting way to start my weekend. We started the day at the Sea Tiger ship wreck which is located off of Oahu's South Shore. We were greeted by Green Sea Turtles, Moray Ells, and Tropical fiches full of colorful stripes. For our second dive we were equipped with Dive Propulsion Vehicles and were greeted by a group of Sea Turtles basking in the coral reefs, the aquatic life was so plentiful and the visibility seemed endless. Bucket-list experience for our special-needs child! I could not have asked for a more professional, customer-oriented operation - this company is the real deal. Our severely autistic, intellectually disabled son has been bugging us to jump out of planes and helicopters since he was 10 years old, leaving us replying with "uhh . . . not until you are older" while scratching our heads and hoping he would grow out of it. Thanks to Trident Adventures, he had the experience of a lifetime this week! At first, I did not realize what we were getting for the price, so let me fill you in: -A mini-helicopter tour of the Waikiki area with an extremely experienced pilot who will fly as dynamically as his passengers dictate -A jump from the helicopter into the ocean, anywhere between 10 to 65 feet above the water (based on sea state and jumper preference), with safety swimmers waiting below -Waiting next to the drop zone will be a fully equipped dive boat, ready to equip the jumpers with SCUBA or snorkel gear over a great dive site with lots to see -Guided SCUBA/snorkeling -Snacks and beverages provided on the dive boat -After SCUBA diving or snorkeling, the dive boat will return to the pier, and passengers are transported back to the Trident Adventure store (where they originally parked). I initially had no idea that so much was included in the price, but there are a lot more intangibles worth mentioning that really set this experience apart for my family: -It was clear that safety was paramount, as every reasonable aspect was briefed, including emergency contingency plans. As a former Navy pilot and Navy-trained SCUBA diver used to highly detailed briefings, I felt right at home as Steve walked us through the plan and "what if" scenarios. -This is an operation run with military precision, but also with customer satisfaction the highest priority (ok, second highest priority next to everyone's safety). Trident Adventures will bend over backward to make sure you have the most memorable experience possible. Here are a few ways: -Want to SCUBA dive after you jump? No problem. If you have no SCUBA experience, they will put an instructor with you for an introductory dive. Already a qualified diver but need a buddy/guide? Not a problem. -Want to snorkel instead? Not a problem. -Not sure if you want to dive or snorkel? Want to change your mind? Feeling unsure/scared/nervous? Not a problem. You can throw on some SCUBA gear and try it with an instructor, then switch to snorkel gear if you prefer. Or you can snorkel and throw on a tank for a quick intro after. They will work with you. -NONE of these options increase the costs. -Have a family member not keen on jumping out of a helicopter? No problem, they can ride the boat out to watch you jump, then snorkel/SCUBA dive with you. -A truly ridiculous level of photo and video documentation. Steve was taking photos and video constantly as we worked through the training, launch, jump, and follow-on dive activity. There were no less than 6 GoPros mounted inside and outside the helicopter, with more carried by staff underwater documenting every moment. For $30, you'll get access to about 50 GB of raw footage from every possible angle. You can leave your devices with the staff and enjoy the experience without having to worry about photos/video and keeping track of your electronic gear - they have you more than covered! -All equipment was top-level that had clearly been prepped with care and attention to detail. Everything just worked, allowing everyone to focus on enjoying the experience. -Trident Adventures is highly experienced in supporting special-needs and disabled customers, from wounded veterans to Make-A-Wish kids. They will go the extra mile to accommodate individual limitations and are incredibly supportive. It's clear they get a massive kick out of helping people achieve what they never would have believed possible before. Watching the grin on Matthew's face as the helicopter banked sharply over the ocean, then dramatically flare into a stable hover next to the dive boat while Mom screamed and waved from the deck is something I'll never forget. I stood next to him on the skids, staying out of the way while Steve did his thing from the other side, hoping I would not need to jump with him. But Matthew confidently launched himself off the skid at the first count of three. The next thing I knew, Matt was snorkeling with Mom, while my oldest son (who has no SCUBA experience) knelt on the ocean floor next to me 45 feet down while we gazed upon 4 sea turtles getting cleaned by fish, with Steve watching over us with the GoPro running. After Steve returned my son to the surface (new diver excitement eats up a lot of air), he returned with a powerful thruster for each of us to stick between our legs, allowing us to rip around like Iron Man before it was time to head back to the boat. We had a great time! We went for a two-tank shallow reef dive, but when fewer people showed up, they asked us if we wanted to do the Sea Tiger shipwreck dive. It was amazing, and I am glad they offered it to us as a last-minute option. We saw sharks, turtles, eels, blowfish, and even a merman with long flowing hair riding an underwater scooter with no gear at 100 feet. He looked like one of our crewman. I have been diving all over the globe. By chance strident adventures responded to a "contact us" email where I was requesting a package where myself and my oldest daughter (22) could scuba dive while her boyfriend, my other daughter (18), her boyfriend could snorkel and my wife just come along for the ride/experience. I'm sure he has a million stories about being a Seal and could have talked all day about places he had gone and experience. He ONLY talked about these things if we asked him about it. He was ALL about us and making sure we had a memorable and enjoyable time. One of his dive masters (Robert) was phenomenal! This was my daughter's first ever salt water dive. Everything she had done in the past was all fresh water around Arizona. When we began our descent she started to panic and went back to the surface. Robert took his time and helped her overcome these anxieties and helped her make it to the bottom. We enjoyed a 2 tank dive in 2 reef areas. There were sea turtles everywhere!! Was such a great trip. The other employee that helped my other family members snorkel was also great! Very professional and fun group to be around. We had such a fun and memorable time. After our dive we wanted to get some "merch" from their dive shop so we drove the 1 mile down the road and bought some really good shirts and other items. Steve's charitable foundation is amazing too. He shared some videos and stories of people that had come out to experience something that they normally wouldn't have ever had the chance to do. The experiences that he shared with us were very personal and special. He has a huge heart and great team to help him that allows people with varying handicaps experience these amazing things. Had a great experience SCUBA diving with Brian and I got a chance to see 3 turtles up close! (first time ever scuba diving, touching the bottom of the sea floor, seeing turtles, and seeing a coral reef with sea urchins) I was a complete beginner and these guys went over everything necessary which I quickly learned with a little mental fortitude and patience. Somehow 5 stars is not enough to capture the absolute magic that Trident Adventures created for my family. Imagine you're in Hawaii for the first time, you MUST dive while in this paradise AND, your 10 year old wants to go with you for the first time. Pressure and game on! Thanks to the Yelp family, I came across Trident Adventures and the rest will be part of our family narrative. Alejo, Dusty and Jaden are the absolute best. Captain Dusty had us on the boat and on site quickly, on a boat that was modern, clean and super equipped, snacks, drinks and all. It didn't hurt that we were the only ones on the boat either, thus making it seem like a private tour (got lucky there). Jaden made sure Mom was taken care of while snorkeling, as Dad and Baby went diving. Alejo was an absolute Godsend! He had my 10 year old down and comfortable in minutes. He swam with her like he was taking care of his own. In roughly 39 minutes we saw dozens of old turtles and innumerable fish. I swam along in awe as I watched my baby experience at 10 years old what I waited half my life to do. I was able to watch her experience her first ocean dive without worrying about her safety. If I could describe Trident Adventures in one word! It would be INCREDIBLE! I had such an amazing time! The water was so clear I saw 3 turtles together chilling on a shipwreck and a few more swimming around. So many beautiful fish and the world and environment was so incredible to explore. It's so beautiful and peaceful under the sea but while we're on route to the dive site, I felt like I was treated like royalty, an actual queen. Everyone is so nice, smiles and good vibes all around. They helped me in and out of my gear. I've have 2 back surgeries and was a lil worried but they made it safe, easy and fun. I did tell them bcz looking at me you'd never know. They give refresher courses for those tho need it and have some really cool toys to use! They literally think of everything. Bucket List: Snorkeling with Turtles!!! I've never experienced something so thrilling and majestic at the same time. We snorkeled with Trident Adventures who were absolutely amazing. I had never snorkeled before and was super anxious. They were very patient and helpful! We saw some plastic bags and pool floaties out in the ocean and they made the extra effort to help keep the ocean clean and the animals safe. It made me so happy to be part of their adventure! I learned so much about the island and preserving its beauty. Highly recommend snorkeling with Trident Adventures in Ko Olina! It made the trip easy, comfortable and safe. We got to see a HUGE pod dolphins and baby dolphins, tons of turtles and a lot of unique fish. All crew members were very knowledgeable about the waters and sea creatures we saw. If I am ever back on the island I'll definitely book another tour with them without hesitation!!! Thank you for being the highlight of our trip! read more
