    The boat
    Candace S.

Driven by Kayla from our hotel (waikiki spa marriott) to boat location. She was patient with everyone and gave great directions. The crew on the boat was pretty awesome also. Once we got to our location we all got off the boat and started snorkeling right away. For those that were worried about not being the greatest swimmers, they have kickboards you can use until you get more comfortable. I had a gopro with us so we took lots of pictures. The crew will also take pictures and send you a link later if you pay a $20 fee at the end of the tour. Saw lots of turtles! Spent a good amount of time at sea. The boat ride is about ten minutes off the coast and it's a great way to be sure you get to see turtles and beautiful reefs under water.

Captain Devon and crew were awesome! Great snorkel tour with tons of turtles. Highly recommend.

If you wanna "sea" turtles, these guys are your operators!

Ryan was exceptional! He took the time to refresh me since I hadn't dove in about 5 years. He gave me some good one on one time and made me feel so much more at ease. While we were diving he took us around and we saw several octopus and so many turtles! He even took our GoPro and got us some amazing footage. Everyone on the boat was friendly and knowledgeable. We also loved the boat dog and gave her some good pets

Aqua zone is amazing! They were referred to me by a friend that has been using them for years. He's super picky and only likes the best so I knew they would be good. Sorry about the super long review but I wanted to get everything in. Setting up the appointment and paying online from California was super easy. Talking to them over the phone was great. The girl I talked to was very nice, had great costumer service, and answered all of my questions. In person she was amazing as well. The process of getting certified and learning how to scuba dive was absolutely amazing. I had Tyler as my instructor and I couldn't have asked for a better instructor! He made learning fun and took the stress out of everything by being super professional, easy going, patient, funny, and super good looking ;p Scuba diving for the first time can be a little scary but it's great knowing their whole team was there to help every step of the way. I knew I would see sea turtles but I had no idea how many I would see and how close I was able to get to them. Being inches away and face to face with these magnificent creatures took my breath away. I also got to be a few feet away from sharks that were about 2-3 feet long!! I hung out with a huge blow fish inches away. -funny story: I was so hypnotized by the blow fish that I forgot my training on buoyancy and because I'm super clumsy I fell on and got stung by a sea urchin. Whoops. The who crew was amazing about helping me and not making me feel bad for my stupid mistake! You can tell everyone working at Aqua zone has been doing this for a long time. Their skill and confidence shows. I told Tyler that I would love to see an octopus. He somehow found TWO baby (or maybe just small) octopi camouflaged under rocks and I got to hold them both! One of the best experiences of my life. Talk about skill! Tyler grabbed the slippery octopus- wrestled and caught it while it inked and jumped out of his grasp until he rocked it slowly back and forth like a baby. Watching him lull it into a peaceful relaxation, petting it, then handing it over to me to hold was mind blowing. Oh! And they have a boat dog named Buddy! He is the sweetest and most amazing dog ever! He made my first 2 dives even better! I couldn't have imagined a better experience!! Any other scuba scuba center I use from now on outside of Hawaii wont even begin to compare.

my boyfriend choose the Silicone one because the snorkel at a "stopper" at the tip so you won't inhale too much salt water

Renting snorkel gear was a breeze! Had a bit of trouble finding your store (FYI, it is inside the plaza), yet your customer service was so pleasantly welcoming. I believe the gentleman and beautiful blonde assisted us at checkout (Nov 1st). Prices did change ( by $2+) yet I still appreciate the 24 hour deal since our flight was the next day and plan to snorkel in the morning beforehand. For such a tourist bound area near Waikiki beach, the beaches behind the Aquarium & War Memorial had sightings of turtles, handful of fish, and less crowded so great for picnics with you and your beau. *Will definitely come back to try your turtle tours

I've used Aquazone on 5 separate trips now to Honolulu. I found them via PADI website. The crew is top-knotch ... always very helpful and friendly, and constantly conscious of safety. I've been on small boats with as few as 5 of us diving, and also larger boats when there are a dozen or so people snorkeling above while we divers are below. The reefs in Hawaii are not near as large or as colorful as the Caribbean. But the sites are great year round, including some great wrecks - the Corsair, and the Sea Tiger. My favorites are Dive Master Travis, and boat captain Ryan. Super friendly guys, who have guided us on many dives. And I've also been guided by others good people of their staff ... all of them very professional and thorough. And the best part, still being a relative novice diver (32), they handle all the equipment for us, so we get to relax and enjoy the sites on the dive. If you're going to dive from Honolulu, I highly recommend Aquazone.

    Turtles

Absolutely amazing. This was my 1st time snorkeling. They explained everything very well and checked on us often. We saw so many turtles and fish. One was getting their shell cleaned by fish. Awesome experience and would go back again with Aqua Zone next time we are here.

The only thing better than the prices, is the outstanding customer service. The Honolulu and MCBH team are a class act that really take care of their patrons.

I have scuba dived all over the world, and the professionalism, kindness, and fun energy from this crew really stood out. My husband attempted to snorkel, and the staff went above and beyond to make sure he felt comfortable despite his fear of the water and worries about seasickness. A huge thank you to Patrick, who showed incredible patience, kindness, and the perfect bedside manner while helping him. It meant so much to us. I originally chose Dive Oahu because I met their team at a scuba diving convention and immediately fell in love with the generosity and positive vibes they brought to their booth. Every year they treated me like a long time friend. When I finally dove with them in person today, that same family atmosphere was there with every single staff member on the boat and in the shop. After this trip, I can honestly say Dive Oahu feels like family now. A special shoutout to Captain Adam for his incredible hospitality both at conventions and on the boat. He brings the perfect balance of professionalism, humor, and genuine friendliness that makes you feel welcome the moment you step aboard. I also want to recognize Jeff, who was teaching a Discover Scuba Diving course on the boat. Watching him work with his students was impressive. He was professional, attentive, and clearly passionate about helping new divers succeed. His humor and relaxed attitude made it feel like meeting a long lost friend. And of course thank you to Jacob (aka Sir Fabio), our scuba tour guide, who did an amazing job guiding us through the reefs. He found nudibranchs, eels, and some absolutely gigantic sea turtles, and made the dive both exciting and relaxed. From start to finish, the entire experience was fantastic. If you are looking for scuba diving in Oahu, snorkeling tours, discover scuba experiences, or reef dives with a professional and friendly crew, Dive Oahu is the place to go. I cannot wait for my next dive trip with Dive Oahu. Highly recommend

I hardly write reviews but their considerate and meticulous service made for an unforgettable experience. Many companies offer discover scuba lessons in Oahu so I called a few to understand the itinerary before making a decision. I spoke with Toby, he welcomed all questions and gave an honest glimpse of what the experience would be. He was also courteous enough to let me know that they might reschedule our reservation in case they don't have enough people to meet a minimum for the boat. This did happen but the company let me know this promptly well in advance and even followed up to remind me about completing e-learnings etc. Fast forward to the day of the scuba and my mother & I met with Toby and the captain on Diamond T II, their boat along ala moana. The captain did a quick lay down of the safety instructions and Toby walked us through the nuts and bolts of diving - key skills, sign language, etc. The crew split us into parties of two each. The sea was a little choppy and I was feeling a little sea sick so I asked the cap if I go jump in the water till the first pair finished their training and dive and he even gave me snorkeling gear!! This was a great way to kill time and also get a preview of the dive ahead. The cap also encouraged my mother to join me and despite her fear of water, she felt at ease in doing so. This half an hour was unexpectedly enjoyable as we were able to interact with some marine life and my mother felt more comfortable being in water. We then got into our gear, which was labeled, super clean and hygienic, and proceeded to do our training session with Toby in the water. This was the highlight of our experience as jumping in a water can be pretty daunting with heavy gear, especially if you run into tricky problems like water in the mask or your regulator. Despite my mother running into these frequently, Toby was incredibly patient and relentlessly made an effort to do her skill training without rushing her. Unfortunately, she was feeling pretty sea sick and also tired by her time in the water so she decided to pause but Toby and I carried on into the water. We spent a serious amount of time close to the ocean bed, Toby was alert yet let me free roam in the water so I gained some confidence too. I was surprised by how clear the water was and we saw plenty of fish, it was magical. On returning, I found out that my mother got sick on the boat so the cap helped her with a pair of goggles, some jelly, and light humor to alleviate her motion sickness. The crew was highly aware of most passengers feeling sick so they expedited our return to the waterfront. I fail to see how this experience could've been more enjoyable and how this crew could've been more considerate to first time divers. Thank you so much for this!!

At the end of this month, I am traveling to Honolulu, Hawaii with my wife and five-year-old daughter for vacation. I reached out to "Aloha Scuba Diving Company" (www.divealohascuba.com) a PADI 5-star IDC, inquiring about their dives. We exchanged about 10 emails, where they offered me to do a Wreck Certification. In those emails, we went over the dates, time requirement per day, dives, and cost, among other details. After a lot of negotiation with my family, they allowed me to step away from our time together, to go diving for a couple days. Based on the information Aloha Scuba Diving Company provided in those emails, I coordinated with my wife and scheduled the rest of our vacation (booking activities with my family, rather than going scuba diving by myself). After booking the rest of the activities in our vacation, I emailed Aloha Scuba Diving Company and they asked me to call the shop to make the payment and confirm the booking. Yesterday, I called the shop, and they took my credit card to confirm the booking. After the call, I received emails confirming the booking and notifications from the credit card company confirming the charge. The first thing that happened was that they overcharged my credit card compared to the price they quoted me on the emails (even when during the call I pointed to the specific email with the price they had quoted). I called back and they offered to do a refund for the difference. A few minutes later, the same person I spoke to called me, and told me that all the information that was given to me in our email correspondence was wrong. He told me that there was "some miscommunication" and that the certification required more days, more dives, and that they would need to increase the cost they had quoted. I told them that I had booked my whole vacation around the information they had provided and that they should honor what they told me. The person on the phone said he would talk to the dive shop owner and let me know. After we finished that call, within 2-3 minutes, I received emails cancelling my booked course. I immediately called the shop again to find out what was happening, but they just did not take my calls. I followed up with an email asking for an explanation, but they did not reply (again, all this within minutes of them taking my credit card, confirming the booking and calling me trying to charge more). In all my years of diving, doing so in multiple countries, I had never faced this situation. They clearly do not understand the commitment (cost and time) that going diving requires for a diver traveling with his/her family where they do not dive. I am taking precious time I could spend with my wife and five-year-old daughter, creating memories, for the diving certification. I also planned and booked all other activities around the information they had provided by email. When things are written, there is no room for "miscommunications." The fact that they tried to overcharge me (even when over the phone I pointed to the email where they quoted the price", and after catching their intention to overcharge, they started coming up with these additional days, additional time, additional dive, and additional cost required, is absolutely unacceptable, a deceptive practice (bait-and-switch), and disrespectful to someone that is booking a whole vacation around this activity. I always book my diving with shops that are listed in the PADI site because it gives me the peace of mind and certainty that they are established dive shops that abide to PADI's Quality Management Practices, Safety Guidance, and involving qualified personnel. This is the first time in all these years, and diving in multiple countries, that I find myself in this situation. Do yourself a favor and avoid Aloha Scuba Diving Company at all costs.
