I always dive with Island Divers and they really are the best!! Today went with dive guide Christian and he was very knowledgeable and friendly he did a really great job pointing out sea life and making sure everyone was comfortable and happy!

Went on a great wreck dive and drift dive with this crew. Dive master Nadia, Sid, and captain Matt were the best!! Nadia went out of her way to ensure we could see the best dive sites and ensure everyone was comfortable and safe. Saw some whales on our trip out as a bonus. Very reasonable priced including rentals. Small group was nice as well. Highly recommend!!!

AMAZING EXPERIENCE - start to finish! All equipment provided and ready on arrival! The whole experience was literally smooth and stress-free. Ryan was an INCREDIBLE instructor! He's extremely knowledgeable, precise, and explains everything in a way that makes learning feel easy and natural. He's also super motivating, positive, and reassuring, which made every dive feel relaxed and SO FUN! I always felt safe, supported, and confident. Highly recommend this dive shop!!!! THANK YOU RYAN - UNFORGETTABLE

Island Divers in Oahu absolutely delivered. I did a three-tank dive with Nadia and her crew, and from start to finish the experience was top-tier. The entire team was genuinely kind, welcoming, and clearly very knowledgeable. Safety was always the number one priority. The swells were strong that day and conditions near the cave weren't ideal, so instead of pushing it, the crew made the smart call to divert to another location. That decision spoke volumes about their professionalism and experience. Even with the change, we still had incredible dives and saw plenty of marine life. On the first dive, we explored the Corsair airplane wreck, and on the second, a barge that had been intentionally sunk as an artificial reef. These were my first wreck dives, and I was beyond excited. They absolutely lived up to the hype. To top it off, a massive sea turtle swam right in front of me, a moment that felt nothing short of majestically magical. On top of all that, their pricing was very reasonable, especially considering the level of care, attention, and expertise they provide. I would absolutely recommend Island Divers not only for unforgettable scuba diving adventures, but also for certifications and training. This is a dive operation you can truly trust, and that makes all the difference. We loved our dives here! We went with Christian and saw eagle rays, octopi, and some much more! It was my first wreck dive and I would love to come back!

Overall a great experience. I booked the 3-tank wreck dive, and a single tank dive to do with the rest of my family's snorkel charter. I want to start by saying their staff is outstanding, and very accommodating. For the wreck dives, I asked about bringing my sidemount rig out since I wanted to penetrate, which they said wouldn't be a problem as long as I am certified (I am). They lent me some tank rigging, but it took some ingenuity to get everything to where it would work with my rig. We got some bad weather, and I got sea-sick for the first time ever, so that was fun (but obviously at no fault of theirs). But, again, their staff was phenomenal in making sure I was as comfortable as possible. We opted to mothball the other wreck dives due to weather, and move into shallower waters to do some reef dives. I ended up not wanting to fuss with re-rigging a new set of tanks for the additional dives due to how I felt, plus the fact we weren't doing anymore wrecks. My guide, Jen, set up an extra BC and regs for me, and did her best to get me back in the water ASAP upon arrival at the next sites, since I immediately felt better once in the water. In hindsight, I should have just brought my regular recreational backmount BC. All in all, I had a great time. I saw a ton of wildlife including turtles, octopus, multiple eel species, a giant pufferfish, and an enormous school of triggerfish, what looked like a tiny 5-inch or so needlefish, among a multitude of various species of fish. On the snorkel charter day, the entire family had a blast. Willow was highly praised by the entire group, as well as Charles. We saw a TON of turtles. Again, I got to dive, this time with the dive guide Aaron. We had a phenomenal dive. We saw a giant eel, a few more octopus, and even a big flatfish! By now you're probably wondering "If the experience was so great, why 4 stars instead of 5?" Logistics. After my initial booking, I called back to arrange transportation ($20 cost) through the company for both days. During that phone call, the lady I spoke with on the phone (I forgot her name) told me the pick-up time for the 3-tank wreck dive would be 0630 in my hotel lobby, and 0830 on the day of the snorkel charter. Apparently, the 0630 reservation was never input, or technology failed as it can. Either way, I was sitting in the lobby at 0635 and had not yet heard anything from them that the driver was even on the way. I called, and luckily they picked up, as it was before their opening time. They apologized for the inconvenience, and said they'd hold the boat for me while I ordered myself an Uber. On the night before the snorkel charter, I made sure to call and confirm that my party of 9 would in fact be picked up at 0830 in the hotel lobby, which was confirmed. 0830 came and went, again, with no contact from the company, driver, anyone. I called at 0838, and spoke with a lady who said she'd look into it and call me back. She called me back at 0853, apologizing, stating the driver was not notified of the pickup. She said he would be there to get us around 0915. The driver eventually showed up, asking if we were his 0915 pickup. We may have interpreted this incorrectly, but this lead us to believe that the reservation was never made with the driver until I called asking where our transportation was on the day of. They were apologetic, and informed us that they JUST started offering transportation, and we were one of the first people they've tried it with. I can be understanding of growing pains, but in all honesty, the ball was dropped a bit here as well. I can't say enough positive things about Island Divers, however. I WILL be back to dive with them again, and would still recommend them to anyone. I hope they iron out the logistical issues ASAP in regards to offering transportation, as that was the only blemish on mine and my family's otherwise amazing experience with them. Mahalo Island Divers!

Three great dives with Island Divers! A dive shop is not a building, it is a group of people - and those people determine whether or not it's a good dive day. Thanks very much to Willow, Gem & his wife, Capt. Matt, Divemaster Charles, and the other 3 Divemasters aboard, it was a tremendous day! Due to a last minute addition of an EAN certification, I was able to make my first two EAN dives. Gem worked with me to get quickly up to speed when I arrived late (my fault). Despite this I was able to complete my EAN certification in time for the dive. Capt. Matt gave a very thorough and professional boat safety briefing before we left, and it was clear from all staff that safety is first. Divemaster Charles briefed each dive in detail, with clear instructions for ingress and egress. The three sites had varying degrees of difficulty: LCU (deep + current), Skimmins Ledge (drift), and Sea Caves (shallow & drift), and each required some special planning. Charles made everything clear and easy to understand. Safety is first with this crew, but close behind is Divers satisfaction...they all worked very hard to make sure we had a great day. I want to thank the whole crew, and I apologize for not remembering all the names. A special shout out to Divemaster Elena (sp?), who recently became a US citizen -- we are proud to welcome you! I chose Island Divers this time because I have never lived on the Windward side, and really wanted to see something different. But I will go with Island Divers next time because it's a great shop - and by that I mean its a great staff.

captain matt, arlo, and jasmine were stellar. we saw 8 sea turtles within the first 15 minutes of our snorkel AND this was our first time. so grateful to have randomly found this company for a morning activity.

This was only my second time ever diving - first time diving was only a few days before this at a very introductory level at Magic Island Beach. This dive was more advanced as we went out on 2 dives off of a boat. There were two groups on the boat we went out on. There was a more advanced group of divers who were finishing their Advanced Diver certification and my group who had myself and 2 others who had dived before but not in a long time and needed a refresher. Our instructor (it was a year ago so unfortunately forgot his name!) was really friendly and helpful. I was a bit nervous but he calmed my nerves, explained everything thoroughly, and made sure we were all comfortable and taken care of. He showed us a ton of really cool ocean life underwater and we got to see tons of urchins, eels, and even an octopus! He took some amazing photos and videos as well. This discovery dive was so much fun I decided to go for my PADI certification after this!! 1 year later I am PADI Open Water Diver certified and definitely continuing to dive whenever I can!! Super grateful to Big Kahuna and my dive instructor for igniting this new passion!!!

Reef Pirates was absolutely the right choice, and I would recommend them to anyone, especially anyone who is nervous about learning to dive or traveling/diving solo. I spent a LOT of time researching where I wanted to complete my scuba certification. I looked at companies all over Waikiki and beyond, I ultimately chose Reef Pirates based on my research. I can honestly say it ended up being one of the best decisions I could have made and was the highlight of my Hawaii trip. It was not only the best-priced option I found, but the experience was far beyond what I expected. And extremely friendly and knowledgable staff. I genuinely could not have asked for a better instructor than Greg. I was traveling solo and was honestly a little hesitant about doing my certification and diving alone as a new diver, especially as a young woman. Though, all staff both on and off the boat made me feel safe, welcomed, and reassured. I was traveling alone, but I NEVER felt alone. One of the moments that really stood out to me was when I came back to the shop from my dive and one of the staff members said, "You seemed nervous when you got here, but now you seem so confident and happy." She was absolutely right, and the fact that she noticed that meant so much to me. It showed me that the staff were genuinely paying attention to how I was doing, not just going through the motions. Greg was an incredible instructor. As a new diver, I made a few mistakes that were completely my own fault, but he caught them immediately and made sure I stayed safe. He was patient, professional, encouraging, and taught me so much. Captain Allan was also fantastic and was incredibly helpful both on the boat and when I was getting ready to get in and out of the water. Between the two of them, I felt like I was in very good hands throughout the entire experience. And if you're a new diver, I cannot recommend Reef Pirates enough. You are truly in good hands. If you're an experienced diver, they also clearly care about making the experience memorable and helping you see the best marine life possible. We got to swim with sea turtles, which was one of the coolest experiences of my life, and they took some amazing photos of me that I will treasure! What I appreciated most was that I never felt rushed. Even after the dive was over, the staff were still happy to help me, answer questions, and give me recommendations for the rest of my solo trip. Everyone was so personal, friendly, and genuinely invested in making sure I had a great experience. I am so grateful that I chose Reef Pirates for such an important milestone. Getting my scuba certification was something I was really excited about but also nervous for, and they turned it into an experience that gave me confidence, taught me so much, and left me with some incredible memories. I am so glad to have gotten it with them! If I make it back to Hawaii, I will definitely dive with them again!

As a life long snorkeling enthusiast, I have always wanted to try scuba diving but have been concerned with confident enough with safely completing the required skills. My wife and I tried snuba a few years ago which was a good introduction to breathing under water but was limiting and didn't address my concerns with accomplishing scuba skills. I've thought about doing a discover scuba trip for several years and finally pulled the trigger on our most recent trip to Oahu. I selected Jonathon and Ola Para Dive based on the great reviews, availability and the reasonable price. After booking the trip, Jonathon got right back to me to confirm the best time and continued to have excellent communication. On the morning of the dive, we met Jonathon at the charter dive boat and he was great about keeping us informed as to what to expect and took the time during preparations to start mentally preparing me for our skills practice. We departed from the harbor on time and once at the appropriate shallow dive site, Jonathon got me set up with gear, went over in detail what we were going to be working on and made sure I was feeling confident. I'll admit, my first 20 minutes in the water was a little stressful and it took me longer than I thought to get comfortable but I have to give full credit to Jonathan. He remained calm and focused on my success and didn't let me even think about giving up. In the end, I was able to check off a lifelong bucket list item and the experience of diving a vibrant coral reef with turtles all around at 40ft far exceeded my exceptions. If you have ever dreamed of trying or learning how to scuba dive but are nervous about being successful, then I highly recommend Jonathan and Ola Para Dive-his calm demeanor and professionalism will surely bring you success as he did for me.
