I highly recommend Dolphin Excursions Hawaii because the team who operates it are highly organized, thoughtful, experienced, intelligent, friendly, and helpful. They do their utmost best to address any needs and answer questions during the entire time. Wow!!! This was amazing!!! They really take the time to explain what you see and the behaviors of the dolphins/whales. The captain was great at locating the spots and not staying too long so as not to interrupt the flow. This tours had the perfect number of Guest on the boat, lunch was included, the Captain and the Guide were AMAZING. We did the 7am-10am tour and it was lovely! Not 15minutes in we were already seeing spinner dolphins near our boat. We tried a few times to snorkel with the dolphins but they were a bit elusive and swam away after a couple minutes. However, the dolphins were out to play and spent a lot of time swimming in our boat wake and around our boat --making for many great photo opportunities. We finished off our tour snorkelling closer to shore where we saw a sea turtle cruising underwater. Snacks and drinks were a nice touch. Staff were very knowledgeable, went to spots where they found lots of dolphins and did their best to make us comfortable on board and in the water. I highly recommend Dolphin Excursions for a memorable time on the open ocean! Although we didn't rent a go-pro, it would definitely elevate the experience. Wetsuits are a must to make the experience enjoyable and it makes snorkelling easier. read more

Jenna and Jalen were excellent! Loved the smaller boat. They called us and asked us to come earlier due to water/weather conditions - worth losing that extra hour of sleep! Saw and swam with so many dolphins and turtle snorkel at end. Jenna found an inner island pod of false killer whales (endangered). They were just as excited to see and photo as the group. Both ladies made you feel safe and wanted to ensure you had a good time and saw dolphins as up close as possible. This was the best day ever. You have to take this tour if you come to Hawaii or live in Hawaii and need a day to relax. We saw Dolphins , Huge turtle showed up while snorkeling, lots of varieties of fish and we even saw a huge eel. The driver, Morgan, who was also our guide was hospitable, energetic and knowledgeable. The captain Jenna was very focused and succeeded on making us feel welcomed, assuring no one group claimed a particular seat or section of the zodiac and importantly on having us swim with dolphins and turtles. Unfortunately whales were not in sight at no fault of her own. My three star rating is reflective of the fact that the underwater sea seemed to be in a sad condition. There weren't any beautiful, colorful fish. If there was coral it wasn't visible. The water was murky where the few lonely turtles were spotted. My daughter is telling me the deeper section where she went in with dolphins wasn't murky as it was in the more shallow section with the turtles, just dark at the deep ocean floor. They have a cooler full of iced sodas and fruits drinks. Bring your own easily consumed, non-messy lunch if you want something enjoyable to consume during the three hour trip as their sandwiches are packed in stained cloth coolers, are sparse and although fresh, taste just ok. read more

CORE MEMORIES UNLOCKED! Our 3 teens wanted to see/swim with the dolphins. This trip was more than we could have asked for or imagined! We were fortunate enough to see 3 species on our 7am adventure (sleepy Spinners, right as we were leaving the Waianae Harbor, rare pygmy killer whales, and playful spotted dolphins). Captain Jenna was amazing at maneuvering the boat into the best spot for getting in and went the extra mile (literally!) to find that pod of spotted dolphins, then lingering for as long as those amazing creatures would allow. Super knowledgeable and friendly crew and staff, could not recommend them more highly. It will be a day we'll always remember and treasure! West Coast is da Best Coast -- Mahalo nui loa! read more

This was amazing It was my first time snorkeling and my first time in deep water and I couldn't have had a better time. The staff was amazing - knowledgeable and super fun. We ended up seeing a huge pod of dolphins and a few sea turtles. It was magical. The small boat was really nice, being able to just jump in and swim around was cool instead of being stuck on a bigger boat with tons of people. Jalen was our guide and she was super sweet! The captain also had great energy! The boat ride was comfortable and they shared a bunch of knowledge. We saw one whale on the way out, but didn't have much more luck with the whales. We stopped to snorkel for a bit and kill some time. At the end of the tour we did run into some dolphins which were cute! I gave 3 stars because everyone was friendly but we expected to see a little more action. Even the snorkeling didn't have a whole lot going on but that's at no fault of the company. :) I might recommend offering a 25% discount for the early season - or even a second visit - but overall good experience! Maybe we will try again in later Jan or Feb!! read more
