Amazing experience. Since the beginning when the shuttle picked us up I knew it was going to be super fun. Mike our guide is really funny and makes sure you feel comfortable if it's your first time doing something like this. The instructions are very clear and he's more than willing to repeat it if you didn't understand it the first time. I recommend using the shuttle instead of driving yourself. Once on the boat the whole crew was amazing. They answer any additional questions you might have. They have great music and everyone there is so happy the vibe in the boat is great. They provide food, chips and water. When you jump in the water they really know what they're doing and they take really good care of you. They're great at finding sea life, giving you the best experience possible. Definitely an activity to do when visiting Oahu, you won't regret it. read more

Cool outfit. The owner, Julie is awesome and we wish her and her crew the best. We booked the dolphin swim with them. Meet up at the Waianae Small Boat Harbor, look for the two story building near the waterfront. They'll meet you in front. They may be late as they shuttle people in from the Waikiki area. Our start time was 7:30am and that's early bro. Anyway, we had a total of around 24 people on our trip. Their cat's a little smaller than some of the other outfits, but 24 was a good number. You motor out and basically search for dolphin pods. If a pod is spotted, then it's strategy time. The crew will try to anticipate where the dolphins are going and position the boat accordingly. Then it's everyone in the pool! This scenario may play out a few times as dolphins don't play by the rules. Bottom line is this - you may or may not see dolphins in the water. We saw a ton from the boat, but only around 6 while in the water. It was cool AF, tho. They're quick and you may just get a fleeting glimpse. Bonus - I look down (you're a few miles offshore in deep water) and see a large shark circling below our group. Turns out it was a Galapagos Shark. It hung out for about five minutes doing circles under us. After the dolphin chase, you motor to another spot for some snorkeling. Unfortunately, it was a little swelly and the water had poor visibility even in Pokai Bay. Did see a few turtles tho. They provide snorkel gear, water, non alky drinks, snacks and a light lunch. During the dolphin swim, you are required to wear a life vest which was a bit much. A little too bulky and floaty, but you're in the open ocean, so...safety. Along those lines - this is not a Turtle Canyon cruise in 15 feet of water. You will be in the open, deep ocean. So, if that sketches you out or if you don't know how to swim, or if you are bringing your five year old, it may be a bit of a struggle. I say do it. You'll have fun with or without the dolphins. read more

We had an amazing time!! Not everyone gets lucky on every outing but we hit the jackpot today! Dolphins, Pilot Whales, Monk Seals and Sea Turtles. The highlight for me was watching Pilot Whales up close. They are very rare to see up close so it was a real treat. A once in a lifetime experience for most people. I can't describe the feeling of being so close to these majestic creatures. I grew up in Hawaii but never got the chance to do this until now, and I'll never forget it. The entire staff was so friendly, informative, and funny, but I admire them most for their genuine love and respect for the wildlife. You can tell they really love what they do and care about giving you a memorable experience. Our captain was a crewman of the Hokulea (which is an epic voyage worth reading about) and had uncanny skill for spotting and delivering us straight to the animals. This isn't the biggest snorkel tour but they pride themselves on operating smaller groups and providing a more personal experience. Many of the other crew members have been in this business for over a decade and it really shows. If you're here you really need to go. You'll be glad you did. read more

A bucket list adventure experience every time I go!! (ranks with horse riding across the Andes for me!) This was my second time going on a snorkel adventure in the deep ocean with Indigo, and I didn't know how they could top the last time I went, but they did. It's hard to describe the fantastic surreal experience of swimming so close to enormous pilot whales, dolphins, monk seals, sea turtles, octopi, and this time round, white tip sharks (a very unusual sighting apparently!) The crew will do as many dives as it takes for you to see all the wildlife, and both times we went over by an hour, which was fantastic. The team is wonderful - kind, funny, energetic, knowledgeable, professional, excited to be on the trip, and because the snorkel group is small, you are in for a tremendous Hawaiian family adventure. Tour entire experience was wonderful, definitely made memories we will cherish and would do this again and recommend to everyone. The staff was amazing. They spaced groups out on the boat so every party had their own space. They made sure to respect the wildlife that we would be seeing and gave great instructions to everyone on the boat. Our boat captain was amazing at spotting wildlife. We saw dolphins within the first 30 minutes of departing and again at the end of our trip. We also saw turtles, many fish, and whales. Booked the turtle snorkel tour last minute and thanks to the Amex concierge we were able to book them. Minus one star because we were confused where to meet up with them. It says to meet them at the dock but there was no one there. I thought they were located at the office by the dock but they are not so don't call or go into those offices. Our tour was supposed to start at 11 and the boat was 30 mins late. It's a good thing we stood our ground and did not leave because we eventually found them. The phone number of the business is their driver but when I was calling he could not pick up the phone because he was picking the other people up. It was a rough start but the rest of the tour was very fun! We met the owner of the tour and she was super nice. The driver apologized to us and recommended an amazing shrimp place that's not hyped up to us and it turned out amazing. The crew of the boat was awesome! They took their time to talk to everyone. We were told the boat's capacity is over 40 people but there were only 14 of us. The fact that the boat is not overflowing gave us so much freedom to roam around and received a more personal experience than a bigger company. We saw a couple of turtles while on the tour. The Captain was swimming with us and he got our go pro so he can go deep and get a better video of the turtle up-close. He was very nice! We will treasure that video forever! It was just a fun and chill experience. Now that I know how the process works, where to meet, and who to look for if I don't see anyone at the dock, I will definitely come back! Highly recommend this company and definitely better than going to a bigger and more crowded boat. Lastly, don't forget to tip and don't bring bananas on the boat! read more

We booked a tour to swim with dolphins a few days ago. Having not previously been on this type of tour, it was better than we could've ever imagined. When we first saw the dolphins from the boat, it seemed like they were putting on a show by jumping up in the air or flicking their tails up, almost to say hello. Once we jumped into the water with the provided snorkel masks, fins, and life vests, we were only a couple feet away from these elusive dolphins and could almost touch them. They were dark grey with white strips running down their sides and much more beautiful in person. A second excursion to see slow-moving and possibly sea turtles near the reef only made the experience more magical. This could not have been done without the wonderful crew aboard Indigo Ocean Hawaii. The founder and owner of the company, Julie, was so organized in making sure things were done on time and so friendly in talking with the customers, learning about them, showing her love for the dolphins and providing recommendations. The captain was friendly and very adept at finding these elusive dolphins, making sure every passenger got a close-up look, and steered us safely and swiftly to our locations. The photographer, John, was also very friendly and took amazing pictures of both the customers and the wildlife. Some names may be forgotten in this review, but rest assured, all crew members were knowledgeable and respectful of ocean-life, friendly, easy-going, helpful, and professional. Amazing tour! My girlfriend and I took the dolphin tour today. Did not want to do the Hilton hotel dolphin experience because they lock up the dolphins in a small pool area and guests would even complain online that they would hear the dolphins crying and swimming in small circles, very sad. I wanted to choose to view them in their natural habitat, so I researched many reviews of other dolphin tours and many had noted that they were super packed with 40+ people onboard. With this, it not only makes each boat super packed, but also scares the dolphins away and can get very crammed with people kicking their fins in your face. I chose Indigo tours because they noted they keep a small capacity per boat, we had less than 20 people. The crew was super friendly and I could truly tell they cared for the safety of the dolphins and for our own asking often if we were ok while swimming. We stayed in a group and kept our distance from the dolphins but they swam about 20 feet under us, incredible experience! Even saw some baby dolphins swimming with their moms. We saw at least a total of 30 dolphins and of even a turtle! You get snacks and drinks onboard and full snorkeling gear with fins. The owner Julie started this company on her own for her long passion of dolphins I absolutely love and respect that. The Dolphin and Turtle Snorkeling tour is the highlight of our trip to Oahu. We had a wonderful time on the boat and while we were not able to swim with dolphins, we were fortunate to see a pod of pilot whales and were able to swim with them, TWICE! Actually, we were able to see a pod of dolphins around the same time we are getting ready to swim with the pilot whales but we have to choose which one to go for. Being able to swim with the pilot whales for us is probably a once in a lifetime experience. It doesn't end there though, we also get to swim with a sea turtle, we saw a white tip shark, and we were able to take a picture with an octopus. My kids (10 and 12) really had a blast. They got more than they ask for and my daughter said it was better that what she imagined it will be. We're really glad that we did this tour. The crew is second to none. They have lots of positive vibes and the boat is full of energy. They truly have passion and love for the ocean and the animals. They were very patient in looking for the pods of dolphins or whales. They really want us to get the experience. Julie, Michael, JB, Nicole, Frank and the other guys really made sure that we get to do what we intended to do on that trip. Michael is a professional photographer and did an awesome job capturing the whole experience. You have a choice to purchase the photos after the tour although I would say you have to because if you don't you'll be missing out on really good photos of the whole experience. Capt Nicole - our main sea navigator , she's knowledgeable and she knew where the perfect spot to see the dolphins and turtles. Nalu - took care of our 6 year old daughter who never had experience of swimming in open waters and dont know how to swim. Micheal and our Crew were amazing. Due to the weather we were unable to see any dolphins but the liveliness and personalities from the crew made up for it. There were 2 kids on board who were constantly jumping on the nets and or pushing by everyone (pretty much kids being kids) and Michael went above and beyond to make sure the kids didn't fall overboard. Had a wonderful small tour with Michael and the crew at indigo. They really made sure we got everything we could out of it. We got to see dolphins, a humpback whale breaching and sea turtles. We also had a great view of Oahu's west side. They served us a great local lunch. My only caveat, is that this is not a trip to take if you have never snorkeled before. They do not give good instructions, and struggle to support kids who are not confident in their swimming or snorkeling. But if you feel good about your snorkeling skills, definitely book this tour. They also had a photographer John with them throughout the entire excursion who could not have been more down to earth with extremely affordable rates for all photos throughout the day. We did the swim with dolphins tour and it was great! The whole crew was warm and welcoming, we did three snorkeling sessions and they made sure each one of us saw dolphins at least once. We saw dolphins swimming around and below us in groups two times, the whole experience is surreal. Because we finished early, they drove us to a closer to shore location and we did one hour of free snorkeling, plenty pretty fishes to see and several turtles. Michael the tour guide was always circling us trying to take photos of cute moments, in and out of water. Would recommend 10/10! read more

My family and I did the early morning tour during our short trip to Hawaii and to say it was the highlight of our trip feels like such an understatement. Words cannot express what an unbelievable, breath taking experience this was. We got to swim in the ocean with a massive pod of dolphins and some sea turtles. We were amazed by the Indigo Ocean Hawaii crew, and we were blown away by their passion, instincts, and upbeat energy. They surpassed our expectations in so many ways. Their genuine love for wildlife and positive spirit seemed to draw the dolphins and turtles to the boat. Mike, our tour guide, was so funny, engaging, and energetic. He took amazing pictures and videos for us and made us feel like we were part of a National Geographic special. Captain Nicole expertly navigated the comfortable catamaran with welcoming spirit.
