I had dinner here with my parents recently. It's ok for a Vietnamese restaurant in Orleans, but not as good as places in Chinatown. I had the #45 - Seafood Satay Rice Noodle Soup ($10.95). My dad had #54 - Saigon Special Vermicelli ($11.50) and my mom had #52 - Spring roll and grilled pork vermicelli ($11.50). My soup was really fragrant. When the waitress brought it out both my parents remarked how delicious smelling my soup was. The taste was also good. The broth was slightly spicy and it was piping hot. Unfortunately, the soup did not have any vegetables in it (other than some fried onion pieces), and they are not too generous with the meat :( My bowl was mostly rice noodles. It had 2 small shrimp, 3 half fish balls, 3 pieces of imitation crab and 6 tiny pieces of squid (about the size of a nickel each). I really liked the broth and the small amount of protein that I did get was delicious (except for the squid which was rubber-band chewy), but I just wished I had more seafood and less noodles. My mom liked her dish. She said the spring rolls had meat in them and they are better than at many of the other Vietnamese places in Orleans. She was happy with the amount of grilled pork that she got. My dad did not like his dish though. The Saigon Special Vermicelli comes with a spring roll, 2 small grilled shrimp and your choice of grilled beef, chicken or pork. My dad chose beef. He said the grilled beef was dry and hard and had a funny taste to it. Service is polite and efficient. The restaurant is clean. The lighting in the women's washroom is not the best. I think they use compact fluorescent bulbs because when you first enter it's really dark in there, then it gets a little brighter with time, but still pretty dim. It's in a strip mall (the small mall as Food Basics) and so there's lots of free parking. Overall, my mom and I thought our dishes were ok and we would return. I used to get my pho elsewhere when i decided to give this place a shot. Not greasy or oily, no fatty chicken! My new go-to. The bonus that they also make ramen sends it through the roof for me. 1 small note, don't bother asking for a soft boiled egg with it as mine are always hard boiled no matter what i ask. read more

It's 6pm, I've just worked out, and could eat a horse! Dinner is definitely on my mind. Thankfully I see the recently opened Saigon Pho in the distance. Since my pho experiences this week were sub par, I decided to give it another try at a new establishment. I walk in to a well decorated and clean restaurant (not surprising since it just opened). The menu is extensive and offers noodle, pho and wok dishes. I order my usual and am happy to report that Saigon Pho has redeemed my Pho expectations. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, although all menu changes come with an additional cost. Overall, the experience here met all my expectations and I will return with friends soon. read more

This place has really gone downhill recently. It used to be a regular place for us but they put the prices up, servings got much smaller and they get the orders wrong. Do yourself a favour and go to Hanoi Pho just up the road on Innés for much better value. read more

Came back for more tonkotsu ramen...... amazing!!! They make their broth in the restaurant overnight.... it shows - I brought my brother in law who's been to Japan 3 times..... he said that their ramen was as good as the stuff he had in Japan. read more

The pho here is top notch. The broth is really made well with a very appealing scent and taste. It's one or two dollars more pricey than other places around like Ha Noi or Truc Lien, but the portion is pretty large and the combo I ordered gave a lot of meat. Unfortunately, my friend's vermicelli noodles were too short, that she couldn't pick it up with a fork. It seemed overcooked, but after we complained, the waiter said it was supposed to be like that. The restaurant looks pretty nice with cool decor string down from the ceiling and it's nice and clean since it's new. It also has AC which is really nice because pho can get you really warm. I finally got a chance to try this new pho restaurant in Orleans. They have a very long menu that incorporates soup, salad, fried rice, meals from the wok, etc. I had the satay chicken on steamed rice. I was actually tasty. It came grilled with some interesting flavors mixed with green onions. The chicken was nice and tender. Number 82 on the menu. My wife had a squid dish which she enjoyed. The bill for both dishes and two diet cokes was $36 without tip. read more

If living in the Orleans area, and have a craving for Viet food, then this will do. It satisfied my want of eating Vietnamese spring rolls drowned in the fish sauce. Ordered the pho and the broth has a light taste. Not flavourful, but, like I said, just wanted a Viet food fix, and so it did its job. No meal would be complete without an iced coffee drip. Got the iced coffee, but it wasn't a drip, it didn't come with the condensed milk and so I missed out on the anticipation for the last drop of coffee making its way into my glass filled with ice, like a wishing well, where instead of pennies that I would throw down it with every wish being a creamy iced coffee to drink, but instead got a powder flavoured drink that I hear the waiter mixing by hand at the cash, almost afraid that he will get carpel tunnel by the vigorous hand mixing, and at arrival I get a foamed glass of beige, now almost another layer of sadness, deceived that there will be tapioca pearls in there.... The spring rolls had a nice crunch to it and the pho was ok and my sis enjoyed her vermicelli meal so it was still a success. We came here in the middle of the day during a work week so we were the only clients there and so we enjoyed each other's company instead. At one point I looked to my left and felt like I was in one of those LED lit paintings that you hang on the wall and plug in to see the painting come alive...Like what you can buy from Chinatown... A herd of horses seemed to be 3D.... well, could be because of my phobia of horses. read more

What can I say, the restaurant had potential with how it looked. Brand new and clean looking. The food was expensive compared to most pho places. The medium rare beef pho (#24) was bland and full of noodles -- where's the beef?? For $9.95 I expect it to be swimming in beef. Did I just pay $10 for a bowl of noodles and bland broth?? Next is the instant coffee they call Vietnamese style coffee with condensed milk. It arrived lukewarm and again, flavourless. It was not espresso at all. I paid $4.50 for instant, warm coffee. I am sorely disappointed, and I little upset actually, for having to pay for this below-par Vietnamese food. I can get better pho at the food court mall. Don't bother coming here. There are way better places, with way better prices elsewhere. read more

Very disappointed. We ordered takeout and expected good food, based on the price. The tropical General Tao chicken did not resemble any general Thao chicken I have ever had. It was sweet to the point of being inedible. It was also a pretty small portion for 15.95. The fried dumplings were overpriced and flavourless. The beef and noodle dish came with little beef and lots of overlooked, soggy noodles. We will not be getting takeout from here again. Not worth the money! read more

I am a HUGE Pho fan (phan?) and normally make the drive to Somerset for a good bowl. I am trying this place for the first time. Let's see how it goes. ... First impressions : - nice decor, high ceilings, relaxed environment . - menus were clean and sharp. Most other pho places menus are sticky... - food. I had #42 with extra beef. Delicious. - service. Waitress was friendly. Smiles. - spoon. Finally a pho spoon with a hook on the end to prevent it from disappearing into the bowl! :-) - price. Reasonable . Verdict - the place is pho-king great. Was craving Pho, but not wanting to drive to Somerset. It was pretty good, better than some of the other Vietnamese places in Orleans.

We ordered spring rolls(one order) A medium rare beef pho and a large rare beef pho extra beef and a pop to drink. 35$ seems a little steep for what I am used to for pho. The spring rolls were disappointing in terms of crispy outside ( kinda hard and chewy and obviously pre-frozen) Flavour was decent inside. The pho was ok. The Broth was different than the colour I'm used to. It was more of a honey colour instead of a foggy colour like other places. Flavour was nice. Beef was chewy. I prefer when the beef is melt in your mouth. Average amount of noodles and beef. Waitress was very attentive and did very well ( even though we were the only customers. ) I was impressed by her. The best Pho in Orleans! Saigon Pho is my go to Pho place. I have tried Pho and the vermicelli dishes and everything is great. The Pho is very fresh and the broth is delicious. I usually get takeout but have occasionally eaten in. They are always fast and friendly. If you truly want Pho and not some cheapo broth then this is the place! read more

On a Sunday we originally headed to Pho 2015 to order a take out for a family gathering, we tried their food before and food was so tasty, presentation, quantity and price were great. Unfortunately, Pho 2015 was closed so we googled the closest Vietnamese place and this place Saigon Pho, the place looked great, reviews were good, so we decided to order from them....guess what? The price was double what we paid at PHO 2015 plus their quantity was 1/2 offered, food was not good, presentation was ZERO. It was an embarrassment when we opened the packages at home. We'd eaten takeout from SP once before and it was excellent. This second time (takeout) however, keep in mind that we called-in the order at 4:30pm(slow period) and there were only 4 items on the list ... A) We ordered, and paid for, 2 veg. spring rolls and only got one - we specifically asked how many rolls were in an order and when 1 order would not be enough we asked for 2 B) The containers of the other three items were barely half full. At a cost of $14.50, $14.95 & $15.95 I don't have to tell you how disappointing and expensive that was. Probably my fav Pho in Orleans because you get what you'd expect. It's consistent in the food department. The salad rolls are yum, the bun with noodles and grilled meat delicious. They even had ok bubble teas if that interests you plus it's close to the movie theatre to make a quick dash in for dinner first. Try it if you are use to Pho and do not want any surprises just standard Pho fair. read more
