Best pho in 831 !!! 100% recommend the shrimp noodle soup with the chili oil so bomb. They're fast and always so sweet there.

I don't usually leave reviews but I had to for this one - service was ridiculous. Came in on a 30 minute lunch break, ordered a single order of spring rolls. Nothing else. I don't know how they messed it up this bad but I never got them. I waited 25 minutes and made myself late for work, but they still never came. There was barely anyone even in the shop, it's not like they were busy. I had to go back to work hungry and very angry at how poorly this place was ran. I'm not a huge fan of pho, but the pho here is amazing!! They offer huge portions at an affordable price. This is going to be my go-to spot for pho. I paired it with a mango smoothie, and it was the chef's kiss. It's located in a small area in north Salinas, so it could be easy to miss but make sure to try it out! Went to go have dinner with my family they brought us the wrong spring rolls I explained to her I could have those because I am allergic to shrimp, the waitress said she would fix the spring rolls and bring them back, when we went to go pay she kept fighting with me saying she had taken them back to our table, I need told her if she didn't believe me to take a look at our table, I then realized the correct spring rolls were still in the kitchen to be taken out to our table, when I pointed at them she didn't know what to say and gave me her back. To top it off she had turned one of the main light in the restaurant off leaving us and other people having dinner with 3 lights in the entire dining are on, pretty much eating in the dark!! Second time visiting this place doesn't disappoint! We started with Wonton Noodle Soup which was a large Portion! The soup was super warm and tasty definitely hit that day since it was a rainy day. Service was nice, food was average. We ordered hot tea, fried imperial rolls (A2), stir fried rice noodles, garlic pork sausage & shrimp noodle bowl (33), and combination rice plate (16). First of all, "hot tea" was cold ‍ waitress was able to provide actual hot tea when we informed them. Stir fried rice noodles were a little chewy and sauce was a little sweet, it was "ok". Fried imperial rolls were good, the right amount of crispyness. I didn't know what to expect "garlic pork sausage" so I wanted to try it. It was SPAM... Well it was the first time for me and my son. I had the pho with the ox tail which was so good and my son had the pork sandwich. The sandwich was so good and juicy. The only thing that bothered me was the service after getting the food. It took awhile to get the waitress attention. It seemed like she was avoiding eye contact with everyone. read more

The dining room has reopened and COVID19 precautions are in place. Saigon Noodles has a terrific array of offerings and everything I've had here has been delicious. Today I had the child's portion (the adult portion is huge)of their vegetable Pho. I also enjoyed a tofu Bánh mì and it was clearly one of the best I've had! I stopped going to this restaurant because when I told them that the food was cold and the meat seemed old and barely touched it, the owner was listening while I was telling the server, the owner did not even look at me or apologize or offer to replace the food. Excellent papay and mango salad. Pho is good. I recommend the fried chicken wings with the papaya and mango salad. Thai tea is on point, boba is cooked perfectly, with a strong Thai tea flavor, plus they use premium boba cups. Service is excellent, fast and friendly. We eat here a lot and the food is always good. Tonight we ordered to go and we were literally ripped off of HALF of our food!!! The # 16 combo plate ALWAYS comes with 2 pork chops, 2 shrimp, 2 chicken wings, a full container of rice, a long and full eggroll and lettuce cups with dressing. TONIGHT, we only received ONE of each item, a short egg roll and half the rice too plus shredded lettuce not cups. The price went up, so I am confused and upset by their cutting orders in half!!! Not sure how I feel about Saigon anymore. The food quality went downhill. They added a few new things to the menu. The Banh Xeo was gross. Came with ONLY 3 pieces of green leaf lettuce, and a mix of shredded carrots and daikon that tasted spoiled. No mint, no basil, or other leafy greens. The crepe was soggy, oily and thick. Not like the Banh Xeo you can get in San Jose. It didn't come with the nuoc mam sauce. I had to ask for it and they came out with this dark urine colored sauce - a mix of fish sauce, water and sugar. The spring rolls had a crap ton of lettuce, thin shrimp, vermicelli noodles and shredded carrots. I like mine with shredded carrots, cucumber, bean sprouts, mint and basil as that's how I've always had them at vietnames restaurants. Not sure if I'd ever come here again. So sad. read more

will never come back. please read if you're thinking about eating at this establishment. the customer service needs major improvement. they all seem like they don't wanna work at the job they applied for. we ordered appetizers and we never received them. my friend asked for a glass of water and the server brought a almost empty glass of water with 2 melted ice cubes.. our food was cold. i got the chicken pho, my chicken was raw and the noddles were hard. my sister got vermicelli noodles her plate was basically empty. our friends didn't get their food until 10 minutes later and as we were about to eat we saw they're lovely decorations; roaches. there was roaches on the wall and in the silverware. once we mentioned it to a server they walked away and didn't say anything until my sister got up and told a server nearby and even then they didn't say anything all they said was "not again".. i'm assuming there's been multiple complaints about roaches but nothing has been done about it. we paid for our drinks but not our food as we didn't even eat anything after seeing the roaches but hey if you guys don't mind the roaches go ahead and eat here you get extra protein for free! read more

The food is pretty good here. Definitely the best pho in Salinas. The service is good when you dine in, however, when you call and order take out, it is a completely different experience. They are very rude on the phone. I called once and when I asked if I could get a couple of extra sauce packets and the lady on the phone said, " we don't have extras" and hung up. The food was ready when I arrived 20 minutes later and staff were very friendly. That said, the food was okay and nothing special. Papaya salad: 4/5 - sauce was tasty and light. This was by far the best dish we got. Chicken wings: 3/5: Cook on wings was okay but there wasn't much in the way of seasoning. The sweet fish sauce accompanying the wings helped. Yeah, this is a small update. So the food remains unchanged, thats good. The service is still pleasant, alright. So what's bugging me? Cleanliness, the floors...I'm sliding from a layer of grease or something. Check the sidewalk just outside the front door, it's black. That's from the inside out, not outside in. The windows are nasty, grab a buck from your tip jar, go next door to the Dollar Tree buy yourselves a bottle of glass cleaner. Do us all a favor and clean that door handle. I am Asian and I am really picky about the pho I eat. I am willing to drive to San Jose to eat pho. I came in on lunch hour rush and wasn't sure if the noodle were going to taste good. I order the #1 pho and it was so good! The veggies they gave were enough for the soup too! Some places they are so cheap on the lime, and the basil and the jalapeños. But not Saigon. My coworker got the egg Banh Mi and she devour it so quickly. We really like this place. I will come back for the banh mi and the pho! read more

I was in in the area for business, and was looking for a good quick meal - and this place was definitely both. I got the beef vermicelli bowl for $10, which did not play around - it was a lot of noodles, a lot of beef, and a lot of veggies (overall: a lot of food). Everything was clearly fresh, and the beef wasn't too gristley, and had loads of flavor. I had no complaint about any part of the meal. The hot sauce is great, too, though word of warning: it doesn't mess around, and it's kinda delayed-action. I kept putting more on, because it was tasty, then I got to the bottom, where hot sauce had clearly soaked into the last few bites, and those last few bites were a bit less enjoyable, due to my mouth being on fire! Their thai tea was pretty delicious, too, and pretty standard priced ($3.50, $4 with boba). We were also in a bit of a hurry, since we were here for work and had a 1 PM meeting. We ended up getting back late, but that's no fault of here (there was construction on our route back) - we got here a bit after noon, and were in and out (including a full sit-down meal) in about half an hour.
