Stopped in for a quick bite. The rare beef pho was decent. I wish the broth was richer but it is the best I've had in Salinas. The beef was very good too, thin and tasty! They graciously remade the jasmine milk tea because it was way too sweet the first time! They redid it at 50% and it was perfect. Also I appreciate that the tea is actual brewed tea and not powder! We went in craving some pho and omg did this hit the spot. Lately we have been in a pho phase so we have been going to a lot of different Vietnamese restaurants for pho and this by far beats them all. I didn't get the servers name but he was really nice and accommodating. We got the coffee and peach and mango slushies. The coffee one was not too strong but not bitter either. The fruit ones had fresh fruit pieces! We also ordered the calimari and the batter is super light and flavorful! Their sauce was super good too! When the pho came out we were super excited. We ordered 2 beef pho and 1 child pho. They were nice and hot and super flavorful especially after we added our own touch to it with the sauces they have at the tables. Hands down best pho I have had and we have gone as far as San Jose to try pho. In my opinion this place is the best pho restaurant. I will definitely be back and will be brining more of my family to try this place. It's too good to gate keep and not have others try it. Came here with a friend. We were seated quickly when we came in. I got a Beef Pho (which is a Pho Tai) and a house milk tea. Our server was friendly and made small banter and jokes. Food came out quickly. The portion was decent size. The boba was pretty solid! The boba was cooked well, wasn't super hard or super squishy and the tea was a good ratio of milk to tea. My wife and I always get the spicy bon bo hue and it is very flavorful. The meat is nice and tender. There is chilli oil, siracha, and salt and pepper on every table. It's hard to find Vietnamese food in Salinas, let alone good. I had their combination Pho. As far as Pho goes it's pretty hard to mess it up. I will say they were pretty generous with the meats in the soup, for some that is a very big deal. I also ordered a sandwich. I must say that was a disappointment. Bread was not crunchy and neither were the vegetables, which were also lacking. I had ordered a BBQ pork sandwich, what I got inside was not BBQ, and whatever dressing they added was excessive. This place is a joke! It was our second time we came in for dinner. Our Server Tony sold himself at the beginning. He answered each question regarding the menu options I had chosen. Unfortunately for my husband he wasn't satisfied with his order. The egg noodles to his won ton soup were too tough to chew. The wonton pork meat was tough as well. I walked over and politely informed Tony of the concerns. His immediate answer was it can't be raw or uncooked! I continued to express we were unsatisfied as he just stood there. I asked for another to have it re made or just another one. He nodded and walked away. At no point did he apologize for the inconvenience or state he would be charging the extra soup bowel. I had a gut feeling through the rest of my time there he was upset. since he showed no interest to see how we were doing. Until I asked for the check... I walked up to pay and not to my surprise it was much more than expected. Long story short "we served you and we have to charge you for it!" Tony said. Delicious bún (I got the #20 - pork, shrimp, egg roll.) but I had separately ordered a banh mi to-go online and wasn't happy with what I got. The banh mi bread was thick and dense like a french roll, rather crunch on the outside and airy on the inside, like I'm used to. Very little meat or anything else inside. The photo I've posted is misleading because if you opened it up, the bread was only sliced thru about 1/2 way and what you see is pretty much all there was. The rest was bread. Went back for the soup because again I thought it was phenomenal I ordered a little extra thin sliced beef because as I stated before the portions were quite small. I paid $27 for the soup and a order of egg rolls, I even went back up before my order was for filled to get a order of sesame balls. When I got home to my surprise the only thin sliced beef that came in my order was in the side inside of a plastic bag and the rest of what was in my bowl grossed me out so bad I couldn't finish it at all even though I thought I had picked most of it out I got a mouth full of tripe if I was eating Menudo I wouldn't mind but no just no. My husband was not in the mood so he went next-door to Ike's deli and was so completely happy thank God he ordered some thing that he could share with me because I literally couldn't stomach what was in the order. So underwhelmed when we finally got the food. We expected the authentic and quality pad thai, but instead got dry "extra spicy" noodles that had no sauce or flavor to them. Where exactly does the spicy come from? No pride in the quality of food. Also, the shrimp on another order was not properly cleaned right. You can see the black digestive line on all the shrimps. Presentation is important! With the lack of pride and lack of good presentation in the food, it's going to be a hard pass for me! Just visited 10/13/21. I ordered egg rolls and cafe su da. My wife (Cambodian) ordered pork chops and rice along with a Mango smoothie. Well...... The egg rolls looked and tasted like they came out of a box. Really. Not trying to be tough. The Cafe Su Da tasted like regular coffee with milk. Not Cafe Du Mont coffee. Could not taste the sweetened condensed milk. Mango Smoothie-wife took one taste and didn't like it. She said it tasted like perfume. I tasted it and it tasted like a mix. Not like puréed mangos. I sent it back. Pork chops on rice-My wife liked it. Soft and nice. Was nicely surprised. Conclusion: not coming back. Been to MANY Pho places. Our BEST is Pho So 1 in Reseda, California. Up here in Monterey for vacation. We were first served in morning when it opened. I had hoped it would be better. Didn't see any Asians in restaurant. No organization, a clueless bus boy, one waitress way over her head. Cooks not reading the right tickets. The appetizers came out so quickly you'd think they were pre-made. They brought out the wrong one, I took it back and in the time it took me to get back to my set the other one was done...hum. So, this is their second day.... Nice decor, pleasant staff. I ordered the Korean Short Ribs and they were tender with great flavor. I noticed that they have these non-metal forks, it would be nice if they have regular forks. I had to ask for a knife but it was all good. The Egg Rolls on the other hand, were not good.
