I was a big fan of this place when it first opened and used to rave about their pho. Unfortunately,…read moremy visit on 5/2 was a huge letdown. From the moment I walked in, the service began with a bad start. The staff were chatting and joking behind the counter and too distracted to notice me. I had to grab a menu myself and ask in a loud tone if I could sit anywhere just to get their attention. Once seated, it took nearly 10 minutes for a server to come by. I ordered a boba drink and pho with brisket. The server returned after another 8 minutes to say they were out of both the boba flavor I wanted and the brisket. After I reordered, the replacement boba arrived extremely sweet -- basically tasted like watered-down sugar syrup with almost no tea flavor. The pho was even more disappointing.. the broth was watery and bland, there was very little beef, and the bowl was light on noodles and toppings. It felt like a shadow of what they used to serve. It's sad to see a spot that was once one of the best pho places in Salinas (in my opinion) decline this sharply. The restaurant was unusually empty, and the few other customers looked just as unimpressed. I understand rising food and restaurant operating costs, but cutting quality this much will only drive more people away. I rarely leave negative reviews and I don't consider myself to be such a picky eater, but this experience was genuinely disappointing. I'm not sure I'll be back.

Ordered pho, shaking beef, banh xeo, and others that I could not remember. Their pho was good, big portion and full of meat. Unfortunately the sirloin was overcooked and the other parts of the meat have too much fats in them, so it was down on the score. Their shaking beef was also meh, very thin and overly sweet, probably not their strongest dish. Banh xeo was full of meat and fillings, but not particularly crispy. All in all, it was tasty but only lacking a bit here and there. Their service was pretty good though. Their restaurants are also huge, which is a plus.

One thing to know--this place gets very busy, especially during peak hours, so be prepared for a wait. But trust me, it's absolutely worth it. The quality of the food and service makes every minute and every dollar worthwhile. My personal favorite is the fried catfish plate. It's so good that I have to order it every single time we visit! Crispy, flavorful, and always cooked perfectly. If you're looking for great food, excellent service, and a restaurant that's worth the wait, this is the place. Highly recommended!

We decided to get the large bbq chicken and grilled chicken plates with the fried rice option. My friend added veggies to her bbq chicken plate and we each added a shrimp egg roll. Our food came out very fast and we laughed at the generous portions. Thomas made sure we had everything we needed and we had an assortment of sauces on the table to spruce up our dishes to our liking. All in all the food is good but wouldn't say we were wowed. The bbq chicken was both our favorites and I highly recommend that dish! The service was excellent, Thomas did everything right! The ambiance is low key, kind of has a hole in the wall feel, super casual. My one complaint is that the floors are SUPER slick and a major fall hazard. They have floor carpets everywhere to probably help with that but the tile sections are small death traps. (Yikes)

Another great places for. My current obsession.... Bobby teas and Snow teas and slushes!!!!!…read moreI went to this place after being recommended by a girl who was ringing me up at Vallarta Market.... She saw me buying a canned Bobba tea and said she was a Boba lover too and asked if I'd f tried Chopstix.... I knew I had to go there!!!!After arriving too late on my first two attempts, I was so excited to finally have the time to stop by Northridge early enough to make it there with time to spare for Bobba drinks!!!! Yes, I say drinks because I can never pick just one with the huge menu of already tempting flavors.... But you can even mix a few different flavors together to create your own favorite customer drink!!! As usual, I couldent decide what to order, but thank goodness for the manager, Essie, , who is always super sweet and friendly, not to mention helpful in making suggestions.... Saying what would go together and what might not work out as well.... The first time, I think I ordered the Black tea milk tea drink with the Tiramasu Foam and it was DELICOUS!!!!! I also ordered a Taro milk tea to bring to my granddaughter , but sadly for her, I didn't get to give it to her because she felll asleep before I could get there so I had no choice to drink it myself as well.... Both of these drinks were so delicious!!!! Sweet and creamy with melt in your mouthBobba balls and the Tiramasu Foam was a delicious choice for an add on!!!! I knew I'd be back!!! Next time I ordered a Cantelope Snow Tea which is a slush but they add milk.... This was delicious !!!! The last time I went, I ordered a Grape slush, and that's the only one I didn't really care for so much, but that's ok cuz I know all the other ones are a hit!!! I love Chopstix, their atmosphere is clean and friendly and comfortable and inviting and their Bobba menu has just about any flavor and style you could ever.even imagine.... Prices are comparable to all the other Bobba tea places I've visited and stafff is friendly and proffesional .... Try them... you'll be glad you did!!!!

Noodles were cooked perfectly, and the steak was tender with no complaints at all, just a really solid bowl of pho. The spring rolls were fresh and well-made, paired nicely with the peanut sauce. Simple but done right. Tried bun bo hue for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. The spicy lemongrass broth had great depth without being too heavy or overly citrusy. Loved the mix of beef and pork, it made the dish feel hearty but still balanced. Only minor downside was the noodles, I personally prefer thinner ones, but that's just preference. Overall, everything was great. I was feeling a bit under the weather, and this meal definitely helped, light, comforting, and satisfying. Service was fast, the restaurant was clean, and it had a quiet, relaxing atmosphere.

The service also feels unwelcoming at times, particularly from the owner lady, which seems reflected in the frequent changes in wait staff. I'd love to keep supporting the business for the food, but the overall experience has become too hit-or-miss to return.

9.5/10 Absolutely…read moreamazing, hands down the best Thai food in Salinas! We ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Nam Sai, and every dish hit in its own way. Starting with the Pad Thai, we ordered it with beef and it was easily the star of the meal. Perfectly cooked soft noodles with a savory, slightly sweet sauce that was incredibly well balanced. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the addition of diced nuts added a great crunch and texture that tied everything together beautifully. The Panang Curry was also excellent. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It came with chicken, green beans, and bell peppers, all of which tasted fresh and perfectly cooked with a nice bite. The curry sauce was smooth and comforting, soaking into the dish incredibly well. A must-order for curry lovers. Lastly, the Nam Sai reminded us a lot of pho. On its own, it was a bit light and lacked salt, but once we added our own seasonings, it really came alive. After adjusting it to taste, it was delicious, comforting, and perfect for warming up. Service was fast and efficient, and the restaurant was clean and well kept. The ambiance was beautiful. A very nice, welcoming spot to enjoy a meal.

My favorites are the corn cakes, crispy, crunchy, sweet and savory. Such a simple dish with an unexpected burst of flavor and textures. Their pad Thai, pad ma and pad see ew are standard but freshly made and consistently good. Same with the curries, which they have a wide variety of. I've found that the satay and chicken wings taste precooked and warmed up giving them a dry texture. I highly recommend the sautéed eggplant. Great mix of sweet sauce and savory spicy eggplant and veggies.
