    Vermicelli Noodles with lemongrass beef
    Jose V.

This is a no frills pho spot! In Salinas, there's not many Vietnamese spots so it's nice to have found a spot I could go to. We started the meal with the spring rolls with pork and it was straight forward and tasted good! I got Vermicelli Noodles with lemongrass beef for my entree. This isn't a spot you come to for upscale service, go to Carmel for that. This spot is great and straight forward. The only con about this place is the hours. I wish it was open later but in Salinas, there's not many spots that are open late.

    Spring rolls.

The addition of extra steak on the side made it even more satisfying the meat was tender, plentiful, and really boosted the overall heartiness of the bowl. Super comforting and filling without weighing me down. The shrimp spring rolls were another highlight rolled tightly with fresh herbs, crisp veggies, and just the right amount of shrimp. They tasted refreshing and balanced, perfect with the dipping sauce. You could tell everything was made fresh. Service was fast, friendly, and efficient. Our food came out quickly even as the restaurant started to get busy. Ambiance was bright and welcoming, with nice modern lighting features at the entrance that gave the place a lively, yet relaxed feel. It's clearly a popular spot, since it filled up quickly after we arrived.

Ordered pho, shaking beef, banh xeo, and others that I could not remember. Their pho was good, big portion and full of meat. Unfortunately the sirloin was overcooked and the other parts of the meat have too much fats in them, so it was down on the score. Their shaking beef was also meh, very thin and overly sweet, probably not their strongest dish. Banh xeo was full of meat and fillings, but not particularly crispy. All in all, it was tasty but only lacking a bit here and there. Their service was pretty good though. Their restaurants are also huge, which is a plus.

From the moment I walked in, the service began with a bad start. The staff were chatting and joking behind the counter and too distracted to notice me. I had to grab a menu myself and ask in a loud tone if I could sit anywhere just to get their attention. Once seated, it took nearly 10 minutes for a server to come by. I ordered a boba drink and pho with brisket. The server returned after another 8 minutes to say they were out of both the boba flavor I wanted and the brisket. After I reordered, the replacement boba arrived extremely sweet -- basically tasted like watered-down sugar syrup with almost no tea flavor. The pho was even more disappointing.. the broth was watery and bland, there was very little beef, and the bowl was light on noodles and toppings. It felt like a shadow of what they used to serve. It's sad to see a spot that was once one of the best pho places in Salinas (in my opinion) decline this sharply. The restaurant was unusually empty, and the few other customers looked just as unimpressed. I understand rising food and restaurant operating costs, but cutting quality this much will only drive more people away. I rarely leave negative reviews and I don't consider myself to be such a picky eater, but this experience was genuinely disappointing. I'm not sure I'll be back.

She saw me buying a canned Bobba tea and said she was a Boba lover too and asked if I'd f tried Chopstix.... I knew I had to go there!!!!After arriving too late on my first two attempts, I was so excited to finally have the time to stop by Northridge early enough to make it there with time to spare for Bobba drinks!!!! Yes, I say drinks because I can never pick just one with the huge menu of already tempting flavors.... But you can even mix a few different flavors together to create your own favorite customer drink!!! As usual, I couldent decide what to order, but thank goodness for the manager, Essie, , who is always super sweet and friendly, not to mention helpful in making suggestions.... Saying what would go together and what might not work out as well.... The first time, I think I ordered the Black tea milk tea drink with the Tiramasu Foam and it was DELICOUS!!!!! I also ordered a Taro milk tea to bring to my granddaughter , but sadly for her, I didn't get to give it to her because she felll asleep before I could get there so I had no choice to drink it myself as well.... Both of these drinks were so delicious!!!! Sweet and creamy with melt in your mouthBobba balls and the Tiramasu Foam was a delicious choice for an add on!!!! I knew I'd be back!!! Next time I ordered a Cantelope Snow Tea which is a slush but they add milk.... This was delicious !!!! The last time I went, I ordered a Grape slush, and that's the only one I didn't really care for so much, but that's ok cuz I know all the other ones are a hit!!! I love Chopstix, their atmosphere is clean and friendly and comfortable and inviting and their Bobba menu has just about any flavor and style you could ever.even imagine.... Prices are comparable to all the other Bobba tea places I've visited and stafff is friendly and proffesional .... Try them... you'll be glad you did!!!!

9.5/10 Absolutely…read moreamazing, hands down the best Thai food in Salinas! We ordered the Pad Thai, Panang Curry, and Nam Sai, and every dish hit in its own way. Starting with the Pad Thai, we ordered it with beef and it was easily the star of the meal. Perfectly cooked soft noodles with a savory, slightly sweet sauce that was incredibly well balanced. The beef was tender and flavorful, and the addition of diced nuts added a great crunch and texture that tied everything together beautifully. The Panang Curry was also excellent. Rich, creamy, and full of flavor. It came with chicken, green beans, and bell peppers, all of which tasted fresh and perfectly cooked with a nice bite. The curry sauce was smooth and comforting, soaking into the dish incredibly well. A must-order for curry lovers. Lastly, the Nam Sai reminded us a lot of pho. On its own, it was a bit light and lacked salt, but once we added our own seasonings, it really came alive. After adjusting it to taste, it was delicious, comforting, and perfect for warming up. We've eaten here multiple times, but this time left disappointed…read more. We were sat quickly and given menus, but took our waiter quite some time to come get orders which included drinks/order together. I was in the mood for soup and had their Tom Kha a few times so originally thought about ordering that, but decided to try their Tiew Tom Yum. Mistake. My guy ordered the pork Pad Thai, and we also shared a Thai fried rice. We ordered tea, but the waiter forgot the sugar caddy we requested and didnt see him until the food arrived about 20 or so minutes later. We had some requests for side items, etc and he brought everything immediately, but didnt come back to check on us until quite some time where I had almost decided my fate of struggling through my horrible soup. It was the most sour of sour soups I've ever had. Neither one of liked it. When the waiter came around and asked about our meals expressed how much I didn't care for it, and the sour was off putting. He offered the coconut soup, which I believed was Tom Kha. When the soup was dropped off I asked for a to go container as we were done with the rest of our meals almost at that point. Again, that soup came out with an overwhelming sour flavor. Thankfully the Thai rice was delicious, so I ate the rest of that. We didnt see our server again until we were standing up ready to walk up to the front as he was the only server running around, and had one table in the place. I brought up the fact that that soup did not taste like Tom Kha, was it a different version of coconut soup? He asked the cook and she said was the same as Tom Kha. At this point we were tired and decided to go, deciding not to come back for soup ever again. Possibly, not to return in general as were irritated. Our server wasn't horrible, was very polite and was running around, however as so many servers tend to do had a one track mind only focusing on one table at a time instead of circulating his section. As a patron I don't feel like you should ever wait so long to get the check and cash out or not be checked in on more frequently.
