Located on the Grand Century shopping mall. Shared parking lot with other local businesses. Came on a weekday while I was visiting San Jose amd it was not busy. Was greeted when we entered and seated not too long after. Place looks nice and large. Assuming they can cater larger events too. I tried the shaken beef with rice. The beef was tender and delicious. Thr rice and garnishes all attested well together. I had the infused ice tea with honey, pomegranate and lychee which tasted refreshing. Our server seemed a bit bothered when we had questions as it was our first time there amd I felt a bit rushed even though they were even busy. Service was ok. But at least the food and drinks was good.

This place has a vast menu and everything was pretty good! They also have unique presentation for their dishes so this would be a great place to bring a friend. Parking: There's a lot plaza parking Service: This was the only concern. The service was a little on the slower side.

So many seafood items! The menu is absolutely massive. Some highlights for me were the claypot catfish in caramel sauce, bun rieu, and the avocado smoothie was really good. The crispy roasted catfish was absolutely massive! Most of the flavors here were light and refreshing with a great mix of soft and crispy textures. I prefer stronger flavors so some of the items were a bit bland to me, but I still appreciated the lighter flavors. A very beautiful and spacious spot to bring large parties to. It is definitely a family-style spot. The food took a bit longer to come out but came out fresh. The one server we had was very attentive as well. Overall: 3.7/5

Came here on a busy Saturday night. I got the Com Tam for $18 and it was very filling. The meat was what I would expect for a Com Tam and the sides were alright. I also got the Fried Calamari (I'm pretty sure it's Suon Rang Muoi but it doesn't look like it). The calamari had a good bite to it and it was nicely fried. I've also had their garlic noodle and lobster before and it's pretty good.

The staff are really nice. Checked in on us throughout meal. The catfish is good. I like the sauce. So good with rice. We also got a soup I forgot to take a picture of. I don't remember the name but it reminded me of tom yum. It was really good and also had catfish in it. The oysters were good too!! My favorite.

Delicious food and great service! We tried the Saigon Kitchen Grilled Fish - super crispy, well seasoned, and came out much faster than expected which was very nice. Comes with veggie platter and rice paper. Definitely enough for 2 people. We got the Chicken Cartilege thinking we needed it, but I think the fish by itself would have been fine. Everything was delicious! The Rose Lychee Pomegranate Tea came out just like the picture, very pretty and refreshing with a heavy meal. The flavor has lots of floral notes. We arrived at around 1pm, lots of tables full already but we were able to get seated with no wait for our group of 2. Great experience, would definitely come again!

I've been here a few times and tried a variety of dishes. My favorites were the squid stir-fried with pineapple (5/5) and the gỏi tôm sen with shrimp (lotus root salad) and pork ears (5/5)--both were fresh and flavorful. The ốc hương with tamarind sauce (3/5) needed a more flavorful sauce, and the bánh hỏi with nem nướng (3.5/5) could have had a larger portion. The biggest downside was the catfish, which was undercooked in both the canh chua (2.5/5) and caramelized catfish, despite the latter having great seasoning. Service was 5/5 very attentive

The food was really delicious! Everything we ordered tasted fresh and flavorful, especially the oysters and beef. The portions were generous and everything came out nicely prepared. The service was also great -- everyone was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. The restaurant has a nice, comfortable atmosphere and was very clean. Overall, we had a great experience and really enjoyed our meal. Definitely a place I would come back to and recommend to others! 5/5

I had lunch with mom at Saigon Kitchen. The restaurant had a nice warm ambience. Service was fast and friendly. It is located near the main entrance of Great Century Mall to the left, outside. You won't find PHO here... LOL... but, you will find a flavorful spot for sea snails, clams, etc. We ordered the Banh Beo (steamed rice cakes). The nuoc mum sauce was too salty for our taste. However, the sea snails in coconut milk were sweet and easy to suck out the snails. We enjoyed them. The basil clams were a good size and fresh. The sauce is a bit salty. I recommend eating with a side of rice. Lastly, we ordered claypot catfish. We really enjoyed the catfish. It was perfect of flavors and balance. But, be careful of the bones. Overall, we had a pleasant experience.

Restaurant was displayed clean and very nice. Staff were friendly and service was fast. This alone I would give a 4 to 5 stars. I really wanted to give a 4 star but ultimately my rating goes out for if the food is actually good. The quality and quantity along with price I think is very good. However the flavor was not there. Quality is good but the flavor is lacking however this can be a personal preference. Not much to say about stir fry morning glory/spinach. Garlic cloves could be a little more cooked. Crab soup, I forgot what type we got but it was super thick with not much crab. The clay pot ribs were good, flavor was on point, a perfect match with rice. Would order again. Sweet and sour catfish soup... veggies were good and presentation was A1! BUT the catfish was either frozen or old, texture was rubbery and color of fish was a bit off. Soup was more on the savory side and could use a more sour or tang profile. The goi salad we ordered did not have enough fish sauce/dressing or the dressing was not flavorful enough, veggies were thick cut so without enough or strong enough dressing, the salad was a bit bland.

Our friend, who knows San Jose well, wanted us to try Saigon Kitchen because they serve authentic Vietnamese dishes that you would get in Vietnam. 4 of us dined here on a weekday for lunch at around noon. Thankfully, it wasn't crowded, so we were seated right away. Saigon Kitchen is a fairly large restaurant that can accommodate many, including large parties for special occasions. The ambiance was tropical and nature-inspired with bamboo and wood furnishings. Service was friendly and efficient, with each dish coming out promptly. ***OUR PICKS*** GÒI XOĀI TÔM KHÔ ~ Shredded green mango with dry shrimp and carrot in fish sauce with prawn crackers. This one gets your appetite going with a zesty and spicy dressing! The dry shrimp was a bit hard to chew, though. Boiled shrimp would have been better, but it was still a tasty starter. 4/5 BĀNH HÒI TÔM THIT NUŌC KHÔ ~ Fine Rice Vermicelli With BBQ Pork and Shrimp. A sizable platter with all the fixings, including rice papers and warm water to make your own spring rolls. A fun, hands-on experience that was delicious and satisfying! 5/5 BŪN RIÊU CUA ~ Crab Noodles Soup With Crab Cake, Pork Rib, Fried Tofu, and Pork Ham. I've never eaten this popular noodle soup, so I can't really say if it's on point. I thought it was good, but my companions had better elsewhere and said it was lacking real crab roe. 3.5/5 BĀNH BÈO CHÉN (5) ~ Steamed rice cakes with dry minced shrimp, pork rind, and fish sauce. I've heard of this dish being sold exclusively in specialty shops, but never had it before. I enjoyed the crunchy pork rind toppings and soft texture of the steamed rice cakes. Dipping it into fish sauce (nuoc cham) makes it taste so much better, so don't forget it! 5/5 CÁ QUAY DÙA XIÊM DA GIÒN ~ Crispy Roasted Catfish Served with Rice Paper, Fresh Herbs, Vermicelli, and Fermented Fish Sauce. The catfish was fried till most of the bones were crunchy and edible, while the bigger bones were easily removed. The fish was an impressive size, prepared well, and it was tender. We got this dish last, so we were pretty full, but we managed to eat most of the fish. 4.5/5 If you've never had anything but Pho at a Vietnamese restaurant, you're missing out! Everything we ordered was appetizing, fresh, and beautifully presented. Saigon Kitchen was truly an authentic taste of Vietnam. A solid 4.5 stars!

I love the fresh ingredients with the herbs and spring roll wrappers! We got a whole cat fish, banh khot, and squid!

The Tra Mat Ong Chang Day drink is really good! Highly recommended with your meals!

We came here in the afternoon before heading back to sacramento and glad we stopped by. We ordered a ton of food family style. Really enjoyed our drinks and the fried cat fish was on point. I will for sure come back here when coming back to San Jose. Our server was also so nice and friendly!

My boyfriend and I stopped by for lunch because I was craving Bun Cha! This was actually the first…read morerestaurant I've seen that offers a Bun Cha with grilled pork and egg rolls, which I really appreciated. I loved having that extra variety to switch up the flavors throughout the meal. Yummmm. The Bun Cha Ha Noi comes in either a small ($28) or large ($47). Our server told us the small would be enough for two people, so that's what we ordered. When it arrived, it was a huge plate filled with fresh vegetables, noodles, and meat. Bonus: it also came with rice paper!!! I immediately loved this place even more. Since my boyfriend doesn't eat much of the herbs and vegetables, we went through the noodles and meat pretty quickly while sharing. I can definitely see how the small could feed two people if you're using all of the veggies, herbs, noodles and rice paper to make wraps. For us, though, we could've easily handled the large! We ended up ordering the chicken wings with garlic fish sauce afterward, and they were over. Wasn't a big fan but we finished it. Next time, we'll definitely be ordering the large Bun Cha platter and hopefully bringing more people with us so we can try more of their extensive menu!

"I TOLD YOU ABOUT THAT PLACE!!"…read more To be honest, I had no idea that my well intended text to tell one of my best friends about my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in SJ would trigger such a response from her. While she might think otherwise, I genuinely had no recollection of her apparently telling me about this place all of those years ago! Regardless, though, in the end, the joke is clearly on me because it took me so long to come here a couple of years ago. However, evidenced by the number of dishes I've ended up trying here, I'd like to think I've made up for some of that lost time! Even though they aren't far off or hidden away, it feels like Thien Long is easy to overlook, especially given how congested their complex can get. Yet, despite how busy their parking lot can get, the restaurant itself is surprisingly large, as they have a bunch of tables for groups large or small (we've never had to wait). What's more, the menu here is AWESOME. Beyond just the normal slate of appetizers, pho, noodle soups, rice plates, and vermicelli bowls, it also has a terrific selection of specialties and entrees that aren't super common. In particular, their signature Bun Cha Ca La Vong is something I've only seen at a handful of places (and pricier ones, at that). -- (#A2) CHA GIO - Fried Vietnamese Egg Rolls...$6 Probably the least impressive thing I've had here, but it was still perfectly fine. While the portion felt a little light, the filling tasted okay, the egg roll was crispy, and I liked that it wasn't all that oily. -- (#17) PHO GA DAI - Rice Noodle Soup w/ Chicken Meat and Organs...$17.95 (large) I don't know if me being sick had anything to do with it, but this really hit the spot. The soup felt so warm and homely and I love how there was a good balance and amount of chicken and noodles. -- (#31) BUN CHA HANOI - BBQ Pork & Pork Patties with Thin Noodles...$17.95 I've been on the hunt for a version of this as good as my go-to spot's in SF that closed and this is easily the best I've found so far. The pork patties are really juicy and I liked the bit of char on the BBQ pork. Plus, they sure didn't skimp on the amount of leaves or meat. -- (#36A & #36B) THIT BO XAO HANH HUONG CUON BANH TRANG (Thien Long Stir Fried Beef & Onions) & BUN CHA CA LA VONG (Grilled Fish) with Thin Noodles, Vegetables, and Rice Paper...$35.95 We saw another table get a half & half order and knew we had to do the same to try both. While the slices of beef were good, the "grilled" (fried) fish was the absolute star. Each piece was lightly breaded, well seasoned with turmeric, and very flakey. -- (#3) PHO CHIN, NAM, GAU, GAN - Rice Noodle Soup with Well Done Brisket, Flank, Plate, and Tendon...$17.50 (large) This may not have been the best I've had, but this isn't far behind. The broth is beefy and rich, yet not that fatty/greasy, and I love how the bowl came loaded with a balanced ratio of meats to noodles. -- (#32) BUN CHA CA THIT NUONG - Grilled Fish, BBQ Pork, and Vegetables with Thin Noodles...$18.95 Essentially the combination of two of my favorite Vietnamese dishes anywhere, which is perfect for when I can't decide on what to get. The only things missing are the Pork Patties and the rice paper, but you can't have it all. -- (#56B) COM TAM DAC BIET - Pork Chop, Shredded Pork, Fried Shrimp Cake, and Steamed Egg Loaf with Broken Rice...$18.95 This wasn't the best one I've had, but it's definitely up there. The Pork Chop was really flavorful, the Shrimp Cake was crispy, the Egg Loaf was super thick, and I love how they gave a side of soup, which a lot of places don't typically do. Along with how delicious the food is, the other thing that I like about Thien Long is the service. Not only are all of the workers and servers really nice, but they're surprisingly attentive. Plus, the restaurant always looks and feels so clean! The only thing about Thien Long that I hate, besides the parking and how far away they are from me (I'd come here far more than I should if they were closer), is how they've essentially set an impossible standard for most pho joints to match. Really, they all just seem so basic now that I know how much more I can get here, both in terms of taste and menu options. Over the years, I've been more than happy to make the drive down here and I'm more than happy to keep doing it to get my fix of my Vietnamese favorites. Which is really something these days considering how gas is currently $eleventy dollars a gallon (#pain).

The staff greeted us warmly and provided friendly service throughout our meal. I ordered the rare beef pho, which was fine but fairly average in flavor. I appreciated the comfortable space, cleanliness, friendly staff, and variety on the menu. I'd be open to coming back and trying something different next time.

The mung bean tempura was also really interesting, it sort of looked and tasted like a muffin. The standout dish was the egg rolls. They arrived hot, golden brown, and perfectly crisp, with a satisfying crunch and a flavorful filling that made them the best part of the meal. The food, however, wasn't the reason for my rating. The restaurant's cleanliness left me concerned. I noticed cobwebs that appeared to have been hanging in place for a long time, along with dirt and grime collecting in corners throughout the dining room. Even the menus felt sticky, with a visible film of grease and small food particles still clinging to them. The faded print and worn condition made them look as though they hadn't been replaced in years. Those details created an impression of neglect that made it difficult to relax and enjoy the meal. With a thorough deep cleaning and some updated menus, this restaurant could create a much more welcoming dining experience.
