If you know what pho is and what it is supposed to taste like then you will not be satisfied here because overly sweet fishy broth and lacking depth of cooked down beef bones. Either they used too much dried squid or fish sauce. The meat tasted like tough-cut thickly chopped and given the old baking soda tenderizing treatment. Got in as their first customer this morning and was quickly greeted and seated. The restaurant is very clean and the young lady who greeted me had on gloves while she cleaned up tables. I was starved and thirsty so I started off with a tall sweet tea ($2). Ordered the fresh spring rolls ($5) with a hibachi combo of sirloin steak and scallops ($12). The soup that came with the hibachi combo had these thin bread-like noodles which remained a bit tough but everything was delicious. Guess we had one too many complaints after we were given the wrong dish, given pork egg rolls when we asked for vegetable, and then found a bug in the pho. Great sushi spot hidden in mount dora. Located in the same strip as a pawn shop and barber shop, Saigon Fusion is a delicious spot to go if you're looking for authentic sushi at great prices- especially for lunch! I was recommended to go here by an acquaintance and I'm glad I took him up on it! We arrived about an hour before they closed on a weekday night and were the only table in there. I was hoping it wouldn't be one of those experiences where the restaurant is starting it's closing operations and the staff would disappear. It wasn't! We were greeted almost immediately, brought our drinks moments later and ordered right away. I enjoy specialty rolls and this place has no shortage. We ordered 4 rolls and some gyoza for the table. Everything came out in record time, looked and tasted great. The service was excellent and we never had to wait more than a few minutes for anything. Although we were the only table, we never felt rushed or like they were trying to get us to hurry up and get out. I also felt the food was still of excellent quality even though it was close to closing time. We enjoyed our experience so much we visited again for lunch a week later. Their lunch specials are great- 11.95 for a soup, salad, and two rolls, discounted prices on Pho and other offerings make it a great option for those looking for good food on a budget. I recently stopped in to have lunch with a few business associates they have eaten here on several occasions and made the suggestion which was fine with me. If you are familiar with this area off Route 441 you know how challenging it can be to find a place to eat during the lunch hour, this restaurant didn't seem to have any wait which can be interpreted several ways - I just assume this restaurant would take longer than most of the fast food options lining this busy highway and most just simply don't have the time. The restaurant was very clean and neat and the service was very friendly and attentive. The menu is very extensive crossing several cultures, being the friends I was dining with were all from Japan I decided to let them guide me somewhat, at the end of the day I choose the Pork Pho. The Pho had a delicious flavor and the large bowl provided a portion more fitting for dinner and was priced accordingly, as much as I loved the broth and noddles and all the condiments that came with it I really wasn't a fan of the pork pieces though, I just felt the quality of the cut was poor although it didn't negatively affect the flavor of the pho. My friends all seem to enjoy their choices and the prices seemed fair but probably a little more expensive for lunch than most are willing to pay which probably added to the reason this restaurant wasn't nearly filled to its capacity. We got Vietnamese summer rolls, sashimi, Superman sushi roll, pork noodle soup and Saigon fusion pho! ALL was delicious and pretty outta this world! Definitely recommend!! Admittedly, I ordered here out of sheer desperation: my wife was sick and wanted pho (which can take a while to properly make the broth from scratch) and I had neither the spice bags to make it from scratch nor my go-to instant pho bouillon. Knowing that living in Eustis, my options would be few, if any, and having looked at menu where the majority of the items are sushi and hibachi (and not Vietnamese), I DEFINITELY had doubts. But the name of the place got me thinking "Maybe they just have to offer whatever the masses want in order to stay in business, maybe they actually know how to make a good pho".
