Tried this place again with hesitation as I was craving sushi. Hesitation based on the slow service we received compared to others. Either way, we visited again. This time during the day, there was one person who was exiting when we arrived so we had the entire place to ourselves until another couple arrived during the last 10 minutes. Do to the lack of people the service was as expected- way better. Had the seaweed salad which was awesome and the calamari. The calamari this time was a bit over fried compared to that of last time. Well, this is my new local Sushi restaurant, my wife and I decided to give it a try on the night that our go-to Sushi place is normally closed! So, first off, they do not have a liquor license yet, but it is BYOB, I stopped by the Publix Liquors in the same shopping center and got some Sapporo beer and Saké. We were greeted and brought to a table. The place was pretty busy for a Monday night. We were given menus and they brought us glasses and cups for the beer and Saké. We checked out what everyone else was having and it all looked good. We ordered Edamame as a selection of Nigiri Sushi and several rolls. The food came quickly and with a smile. Honesty I wasn't expecting a perfect meal as they had just opened, but I must say, it was pretty good. The rice was okay, and the fish, while fresh, didn't seem to be of high quality, but it was still tasty and well-presented. I am not a fan of the atmosphere and decor, a bit bright and garish, but is looked clean and was comfortable. I don't think Saga is going to take us away from our normal place, but I would definitely come back here on a Monday. I am also willing to give them a bit more time to get in the rhythm and see how much better they get. I approve! read more

Typical Japanese restaurant with good food. The sashimi and ingredients were quite fresh, and in general was very tasty. We found the soft shell crab and the duck wraps to be the best dishes! We had the Hibachi Veggie Dinner and were pleasantly impressed with the blend of flavors in this one dish. We also had the summer rolls with tofu and later learned that they will also make them with Thai Basil leaves...Yum. We will only be in town for a few weeks and we will definitely come back. PLEASE READ - HONEST REVIEW! I wanted to warn everyone to STAY FAR AWAY from this place. What seemed to be a pleasant atmosphere turned out to be the WORST experience i've experience in my lifetime. It was a party of FOUR with two children under 2. Upon ordering the waitress suggested a kids meal which included chicken nuggets , fries and apple juice. I agreed and said please add that to my order. Well we waited and waited and waited. Finally after about 40 mins our orders were coming out. However, my daughter was getting agitated because what they DID NOT bring out was the kids meal only the damn apple juice. We asked about it and they said sorry for the wait it's coming. Yet still nothing still waiting . Asked again and they said that it was not part of the regular menu and that it was place in another section from the cooks. Yet another excuse that made no sense because they had already brought out the apple juice which was part of that meal. I continue to be patient. Then finally after a little over an hour they brought out the chicken nuggets and fries. I always inspect the food before I give it to my child. And thank goodness I did . I picked up a chicken nugget and it had a white foam on it. I used a fork and open it up and it was extremely UNDERCOOKED. Now what if my child just grabbed it and ate that?? I explained the situation and asked them to remove the order they agreed. I was livid and ready to go because now my child did not eat we waited way too long for our food. I asked for to go containers and the checks. When the checks came out they had an automatic 20% gratuity added.. like FOR WHAT??? So when questioned we were advised that any party of SIX or more gets an automatic 20% added. Remember we had FOUR adults and TWO children under the age of 2?! Well we were told it doesn't matter if they did not eat they were counted because they count heads. Now that is ABSURD especially when they messed up our orders. I asked to speak to the manager that was literally right at the front desk.We watched the waitress walk to the manager for a few seconds then came back and told us manager said it's policy and there is nothing she can do about it. We said okay we want to speak to the manager directly because we can see her right there. She then said the manager DO NOT speak any english. Do I asked then how she understood you if you just spoke to her , we heard you speaking english. So I walked up to the desk myself and the manager WALKED AWAY ! By the way this so called policy is no where on the website on their menu. They MADE it up . I am not sure what kind of business they are running here but STAY AWAY! They do not care about their customers and they will scare you out of additional funds with their " automatic gratuity BS". STAY AWAY eat elsewhere. read more

Tried Saga last night with friends. Spotless restaurant. The staff is very pleasant. The presentation is delightful. My friends and I had a great time, we were never rushed. I had the Mermaid Roll which was tasty. My wife had a California Roll and Tuna roll both were delicious. I also had the ramen which was tasty. My friends ordered different hibachi plates that they loved and the looked fabulous. Shrimp tempura looked light and delicious, the rib appetizer looked and smelled fabulous. The salads were crisp and fresh. Seaweed salad was refreshing and nicely presented. I love Wave and Momiji but this is different and just as good. It was our first time going to Saga & we were super excited to eat there but the experience? 1/10. When we sat down it took awhile to get our drinks ordered, we didn't mind it was fine. After getting our drinks no one came to check on us to see if we were ready to order, yet, they checked on everyone else even some tables multiple times. After waiting over 20 mins we decided to go up front to pay for our drinks & go about our night. We get up to the register to ask the girl up front if we can pay, she asks what wrong and I let her know we've been waiting over 20 mins but no one's came to take our order, she rudely says 'you've only been sitting down for 10 mins' I let her know it's been longer so we're deciding to head out. As we're walking out she makes a snarky comment 'it's only been 10 mins, but okay' so I reply 'no, it was longer' she talks back to me ruder then before 'No it hasn't, don't be rude'. First of all, we waited around patiently to have our order taken and the fact that other people were checked on multiple times while no one checked in w/ us was a little frustrating but what made me extremely angry was her snarkiness, there was no need for that comment she made and I don't appreciate her telling me to not be rude when she was the one being rude to me. read more

Well, I can cross this one off my list. I'm not a fan of fusion Asian restaurants that cook every kind of Asian style you can think of, but after 2 other Thai locations were closed, we stopped in to salvage the night. Sadly, it was all underwhelming and mediocre - and a night out poorly spent. I'm not sure how new they are (at least a few months or more), but it was chaotic to a degree, from waiting for a table to waiting for food. You can tell the owners/management are overworked. The kitchen needs serious work on timing. We had both Sushi and Thai entrees, and the Thai entree came out more than 20+ minutes after the sushi. We wanted to eat together! Neither were good renditions of Thai or sushi unfortunately - like most fusion. I think some of their sushi options look OK, but the vegetarian rolls were not good at all. The seaweed salad, usually a favorite of mine and easy to nail, was overly oily and all you tasted was sesame. We found the sushi rice to be overly sweet. And the red Thai curry just was not Thai food at all - no Thai flavors - and was more reminiscent of Asian+Italian fusion with a tomato sweetness and Italian basil on it. The beef was OK and edible, but even the rice was kinda meh. I ate it, but wouldn't order it again or suggest anyone try their Thai dishes. You should probably stick to Hibachi here. Service was OK, but overall it's just chaotic. There were also LOTS of customers with screaming kids, and while that isn't the fault of the business, the atmosphere and food here was just not enjoyable. It is a family owned and operated business - and you could tell they're all trying really hard, but I think they need to simplify the menu/concept and focus on what they're great at - whatever that may be? read more
