    Hibachi Filet Mignon

My mother wanted something different for lunch, so I took her here, one of my favorite restaurants in Lake County. They have a very nice ambiance, I find it to be very soothing. It started with the server who took our orders, and was very attentive to us throughout the entire meal. The chef was very entertaining. He did a lot of the usual fancy juggling and tossing of his cooking utensils. But, he did something I had never seen before, which was to light his spatulas on fire and then proceeded to juggle them. It delighted all of us sitting at the table. We ordered the hibachi filet mignon. Our dinner started with salad and Japanese clear soup. They were good, but I preferred to save myself room for the main course. Next, the chef started preparing our meals and kept us engaged the entire time. The dinner portion of the filet mignon comes with rice, noodles, vegetables and, of course, the filet. Everything was absolutely cooked perfectly and was delicious. You could practically cut the filet with a knife! And, don't forget the yum yum sauce. It goes great with everything. I have been here many times, and will continue to go. It is a bit pricey, but is well worth it.

Was on a cross country work trip and we were really hungry Kiku was right around the corner and I'm so glad we decided to stop Food was delicious ,not really a sushi person. But it was great . Server was very nice and attentive with a big smile which was nice . The ambiance is great a lot of nice pictures and swords behind the bar . We opted for the regular dining area ,but just on the other side they had the Hibachi tables and they were putting a great show for the families ,even singing "Killing me Softly" which was to funny and cool . Everyone seemed like they were having a blast . If I'm ever out here again will definetly stop by and bring my little ones . Thank you Kiku .

This tradition is losing a bit of the flair. My first experience at Kiku (Eustis) Pretty standard as it goes with hibachi type fair. Portions were okay seems the chef was a little distracted when it came to dividing up the vegetables- and I drew the very short end of that straw (no broccoli, carrots or zucchini serced up on my plate. Also the table had three children ( one of which was scared of the fire and so the chef went lean on the "show" ).

This was our best experience at Kiku yet! We have come every year for my boyfriend's birthday for the last 4 years and we absolutely love it. The whole staff had us laughing the entire time! We did the hibachi table as always. I got the NY steak and chicken combo which comes with miso soup and ginger salad to start and then the proteins, fried rice, noodles, and veggies which are cooked in front of you by a super talented hibachi chef. We also got a spicy crab roll. All of the food was absolutely delicious! Our chef had each of us attempt to catch a piece of zucchini in our mouths and even used a squirt bottle to give sake shots. For drinks, we tried the "Duck fart" shots, whiskey sours, sake, wine, and Japanese melon soda. The whole experience was so fun. At the end of our meal, the staff sang happy birthday and gave our birthday man a cupcake. The portions were huge so we all had great leftovers. The restaurant was clean and decorated to theme. We also had a person with a shrimp allergy with us and they did a good job taking note of his needs. Seriously the best hibachi experience!

If you're looking for good hibachi in Lake County, Kiku's is a great option. My family is very used to the "Kobe Steakhouse" experience. Where Kiku's wind is that their staff is friendlier, funnier and more talented than anyone else! The food is great and the prices are reasonable. We come back yearly for birthdays and always enjoy the experience. Thank you guys for this week's most recent visit, which included flying zucchini, sake fountains and many laughs!

Very fun family spot! Great food and great show for the hibachi tables. Staff were accommodating, if a little bit slow in service. Really enjoyed it!

The Kiku Cocktail on the right. Back for more sushi and a Jalapeño Bomb appetizer.

We've been coming here for the sushi and the Jalapeno Bombs; Jalapenos stuffed with tuna and cream cheese, breaded and fried, cut in halves and topped with a plum sauce. It is well named. The Salmon Crunch Roll is extraordinary and we recommend the Kiku Cocktail for those who like a sweet but potent drink.

Went here with a group of 4 and arrived at 4:30 when they opened. Was seated promptly and our server took the drink order. Drinks were served and he took the dinner order. Soup was brought out, very hot and tasty. Salads came next, it was good. The chef (Yoshi) came and started to cook. He did the usual routine and was very personable. Food was cooked to perfection and serving sizes were large. They serve noodles along with the fried rice and vegetables, which I haven't seen before. Brought home leftovers for lunch the next day. They also have lots of sushi options, but none of us had any.

I really enjoyed my hibachi meal from this place. I went with a very large group, probably 25-30 people. Took 4 grills to feed us, but only 3 chefs were available. our guy single handedly made food on two grills for about 14 people using 2 grills! He did great, still made silly jokes, and put in the regular "show".

Consistently good, and always entertaining for the family. This is our typical special occasion choice!

Service was fast and the food was good. Price wise it's a steal for hibachi. Next time, I'll try their sushi rolls to see how that compares.

The Green Bastard and Tavares Sushi Roll were similar with the addition of Fresh Snapper atop my roll. The prices were $16 and $17 for the sushi but they were double the size of most sushi plates. We recommend the Blackberry Lemonade cocktail with wine based vodka, delicious while still being strong. I had the Sapporo 22 oz Daddy beer bottle, a clean, refreshing Japanese beer. Their hours are great if you work and don't get out often until late; 5-11 pm Wednesday to Sunday. A new favorite in downtown Tavares.

Wow. Local business like Shibuya deserves to be supported…read more First off - one of the best sushi rolls I've ever had. Casually asked one of the sushi chefs what his favorite roll was. He listened to some of my preferences. Saw my Tenacious D shirt and complemented it. And then proceeded to make me a modified Beauty and the Beast roll and called it the Tenacious D roll. Incredible. My wife is not a fan of sushi because she doesn't like fish or seaweed. But she saw my roll and reaction and felt jealous. Asked if they could make her a roll to accommodate her and they were totally willing to oblige. Spoke with the owner. Super nice guy with lots of passion. Service from the front to back of the house was so personal and friendly. We felt so welcomed. Ambiance was super chill. Nice ambient music. Cool lighting. It's not super high end furniture but you can tell they are a new business doing the best they can. But let's be real - food is more important than the quality of the table you're eating on. Top notch food and vibes. What more do you want? There's literally no sushi in Tavares that can compete. Heck. Not much I've had in the country that can compete. If you love sushi do yourself a favor and just go. 10 stars.

A Somber Sushi Soirée with Room for Improvement (2 out of…read more5) My father and I decided to explore the All-You-Can-Eat (AYCE) sushi experience at this local restaurant, arriving promptly at 5:07 PM--a time I noted for reasons that would later become relevant. At first glance, the restaurant had a quiet charm, though it leaned more toward somber than serene. Aside from us and one other couple, the dining room was notably empty, which set the tone for the evening. We were seated quickly and placed an order that included a variety of sushi rolls, appetizers, and fried rice. Unfortunately, the service was sluggish noticeably so. Given the strict 90-minute dining limit, the extended wait times for food (and even for something as simple as extra napkins) felt more strategic than situational. To the food: The appetizers were a mixed bag. The shrimp tempura had an odd aftertaste, and it was clear the shrimp hadn't been properly cleaned always a disappointing oversight. The grilled beef skewers bore little resemblance to the menu description and were drenched in an overly sweet sauce that overwhelmed the meat. On a more positive note, the gyoza were pleasantly crispy and flavorful, and the spring rolls, while unremarkable, were decent. As for the sushi, it was serviceable but underwhelming. The rice-to-fish ratio leaned heavily in favor of rice, and the overall freshness left something to be desired. The teriyaki beef was actually quite tasty but again, it arrived swimming in sauce next time (if there were to be one), I'd recommend ordering it on the side to truly enjoy the meat. The service, regrettably, remained cold throughout the meal. At exactly 6:12 PM, our server informed us that our 90-minute window had expired despite the math suggesting otherwise. Perhaps she was simply having a rough day, so I'll leave it at that. In the end, while taste is indeed subjective, especially when it comes to sushi, I've had far more memorable and satisfying experiences elsewhere. For us, this visit fell flat, both in flavor and hospitality. Sadly, it's not a place I see myself returning to anytime soon. NOTE: Tips are included so be careful as you may end up tipping twice.
