Was craving some vietnamese food and this place hit the spot. Spacious vietnamese restaurant that sold some non perishables vietnamese ingredients. I ordered a grilled chicken rice plate which came out very quick. The plate was filled with lots of veggies to go with the chicken and rice. There was a perfectly fried over medium egg on top of the rice. The pickled daikon and carrots weren't too sour. The lettuce, cucumber, and tomatoes were very fresh. The fish sauce wasn't too sweet or salty, it seemed to be a lime base. The chicken wasn't quite grilled or maybe the sauce it was in made it seem not grilled. My husband has been trying to find a good banh mi shop that mimics what he grew up with San Jose. The reviews is what got us to come and try it out. The cashier Marie was a delight and super nice. We ordered two sandwiches and asked for to go. We decided last minute after we ordered to sit inside. There are several tables and the best part is they keep it clean and trash free. We got our order and we opened up our sandwiches and realized that they were not cut in half which is what we ordered (see receipt for order instructions). No big deal, my husband te wrapped the sandwiches and went to the counter to see if they cut them. There was another Vietnamese woman who snapped at my husband and told him next time to add it to the order. The way she said it to him made me look up- like excuse me? Marie, our original cashier, was the one that came in and corrected her and said that we did ask for it to be cut in half. If it was our bad- I get it but we had asked and it shows that they don't pay attention to the order. Same thing where we asked for extra patè and there wasn't extra patè. Also after getting the sandwiches, there really was a ton of veggies in it either. The bread was nice and chewy with a top crunch but overall it wasn't worth the hype. On this side of Sacramento there are not that many bahn mi choice so I am glad I don't have to head way south if I don't have time. Order a few of their bahn mi's and also fresh spring rolls. They are made to order so you are to wait a bit for them. Inside you can also have pho and sit down in a few of their tables and there is an Asian market section. Convenient. We almost didn't try this place because it's not in my favorite area in Natomas but I'm glad we did! First of all thy had a little market when you walk in with all the goodies. I can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I have been coming here since they opened. I've enjoyed everything that I've had here. I usually get the Bahn Mi special #1 or grilled pork vermicelli noodles. Yesterday I ordered the Bahn Mi special with extra pate & 2 egg rolls to go. The bread had a great outside crunch with a nice chewy inside. The pickled veggies are my favorite, but my sandwich had slimy old cucumber slices..and the head cheese was harder to chew through than normal. That's why 4 stars instead of 5. First time coming to Saigon corner today ordered B3 banh mi sandwich requested no cilantro and my husband ordered a B1 with no cilantro . My sandwich still had stems of cilantro and some fragments of cilantro mixed in the sandwich , my husbands sandwich had a whole bunch of cilantro inside , we also ordered the Saigon special pho and let me tell you don't order it , hardly any meat only meatballs and steak inside. Pretty good for a sandwich, decent noodle soup. I was on the way back from Reno/Tahoe, so I looked for Vietnamese food in Sac that was also not too far off 80. There's a parking lot for the restaurant, which is right off of a few main roads. No table service. Just order at the counter. I got a bowl of the combo beef pho, along with a grilled chicken sandwich for later. The pho was a good size and reasonably priced. I just wish it had a little more flavor. I was in the mood for banh mi and Saigon Corner is just a short drive from my office. I had the char sui pork belly banh mi, which also has pâté on it. It was flavorful and tasty. A bit too heavy on the carrots though. The size was generous - it was enough for my lunch and dinner. I only had to wait a few minutes for my sandwich, so they seem to have a good system for their lunch rush! You could always order ahead though. There are some tables inside where people were dining, but I just got it to go. Overall, a solid banh mi spot and convenient since it's the only banh mi spot in the area (at least that I know about). Decided to come here for my work lunch break and am glad I did. The grilled pork banh mi was tasty, the staff was friendly, and there was AC which was great because of how it was outside. There was some acoustic music playing on the tv in the corner, but I didn't mind it because it drowned out the chatter of other customers so I was able to read my book while eating. The restaurant has plenty of seating and also has shelves selling Asian snacks, drinks, and noodles. I decided to grab a canned guava drink that was pretty good. I have had their Vietnamese sandwiches (Banh Mi) and their rice plates. Both have been great. The taste of Banh Mi starts with the fresh, warm, toasted French bagettes. All of the sandwiches come with the usual Banh Mi vegetables of pickled carrots & daikon, cucumbers, jalapenos, and cilantro. You have a choice of meats for your sandwich from grilled pork, grilled chicken, ham, pork belly, and pork char siu. You can also have the sandwich as vegetarian. Entrees are served as a rice plate or a vermicelli plate. Entrees include grill pork, grilled chicken, short ribs, grilled shrimp, and grilled pork chop. The entrees are just as delicious as the sandwiches. The times I went, my sandwich was $6.99 and my rice plate was $10.49. Interestingly, the restaurant is also a mini Vietnamese food store with a couple of aisles of Vietnamese food items. Saigon Corner is a casual dining establishment with indoor tables and chairs and a busy to-go business. You order and pay at the cash register and wait for your order to be ready. There are plenty of items I have not tried yet and want to in the future. Saigon Corner offers a long list of boba drinks. I have finally found the best spot for bành mí that will deliver! Usually while I'm working, it's tough to make the drive down to Elk Grove just for bành mí, so it's always a treat to find a restaurant that will deliver. :) I always opt for the traditional bành mí cha lua with pâté. It's "simple" and such a comfort food that reminds me of my childhood in the San Gabriel Valley where legit, delicious, traditional bành mí spots are plentiful. I've tried their combo sandwich, but something just isn't quite right to me. It's not terrible, but I do have a specific expectation just based off of eating so many growing up.
