Yay for giant baked catfish. If I ate any more of it, I would have exploded. I do not recommend the large for 2 people unless you're both super hungry. Sauce was well-made, and I think everything went well together. read more

Baked catfish is what they're known for here but everything else that i have tried on the menu is also good. The restaurant is clean and modern and service is better than at most Vietnamese restaurants. read more

This is my favorite Vietnamese restaurant to come to! The only thing however is they are always packed so expect to wait or at least call ahead to reserve a table. They're known for their baked catfish spring rolls which always satisfies me. I would also get their bo la lot which is the best I have ever had. I'm probably going to get it tomorrow since I got myself hungry thinking about it. read more

We went for the Seven Courses of Beef, because naturally my father has not accumulated enough beef already in his humongous, keggy stomach. The courses of courses consisted of courses as follows: -rare beef in vinegar -3 types of beef rolls with imperial roll-it-yourselfs -beef salad -beef congee (savory! second fave only to the..) -beef and shrimp chips. wonderful texture Also! The whole, fried catfish is not to be missed. A bit pricey but delicately baked with an exquisite fried skin. But the kid! Running around! He was so noisy WHERE ARE THE MEAN DOGS? read more

Best ca nuong I've ever had. The skin was extra crispy! They also mostly debone the fish after cooking. The service was a little slow, but that seems to be an issue with most restaurants right now. Wait staff is friendly, just busy. The wait for a table for 10 on Sunday evening was about 20 minutes. read more

Came here with my big booty Asian gf past week. This place were pack and loud specially seeing old heads getting drunk at a family restaurant. Lmao We order a whole catfish. Got me a pho. Got me an egg roll. Got me wings. Got me a bad phat ass sat next to me. Priceless. Overall 4 star. read more

Took clients here for lunch. Very nice place. Generous lunch portions. Price is reasonable. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed there lunch. We ordered a variety dishes from seafood/rice, chicken/veggies, and beef/veggies. Will visit again in the future. read more

Great inventive grilled fish! Been here twice with local friends - it was amazing fish! Love the beautiful modern decor. Good place... read more

Been here several times. Food is definitely good; especially their famous catfish. HOWEVER, the service gets worse and worse here. Why is it so hard for them to bring our water? This last time around, the water never arrived even after we ordered our food. The food came out and the water still was not delivered yet. The waters were brought out when we were about half way through our meal. Again, food is good but the poor service, non-service might better describe this place, makes it a stressful dining experience. read more

More than your average pho joint! There's a reason why there's so many pics of the catfish and practically every review mentions it - it's delicious! Who knew catfish and peanuts tasted so good together? Well, I guess the Vietnamese knew but I was pleasantly surprised! Crispy skin, succulent near perfectly cooked catfish and the green onion and peanuts on top are great. As far as dining experiences go, this one is pretty unique. You pull meaty chunks of catfish off and place it into rice paper with rice noodles, various veggies and herbs then dip it into peanut sauce and scarf it down. The medium order of catfish adequately served three people. My table also shared a bowl of build-your-own pho. Pretty solid, fresh tasting meat and good broth but the catfish was the obvious star. The shrimp on sugar cane (free app w/ yelp check-in} was good too. I love interactive dining so the entire meal was great. The only real negative aspect was the mosquitoes feasting on us while we feasted on our catfish. Honestly, I rarely judge Asian restaurants by their service but ours was good enough. The menu looked pretty unique and the catfish was addictive so I'd definitely go back to try more. read more

I went here with my boyfriend and his family for lunch. The place was slow on the weekend. It wasn't packed like when it's first open. I'm pretty impressed with the service a bit better than most Vietnamese restaurants. You can seat yourself or a server will seat you (whatever comes first). And don't expect a waiter to come see how you doing... they will or they will not. I just do it the old Vietnamese fashion way... yell with hand signals at any waiter that passes by. Let's get to the famous baked fish they have here... I'm not happy with the downgrade of size. The medium catfish is now considered a large. The small is a medium. You basically pay more for a smaller sized catfish. It's good and I would crave it, but I don't go here often. I would eat here twice out of the year. Great place to take out of town peeps! My bf's mom was definitely impressed with the catfish. read more

We love coming to this place because the food here is always exceptional. We ordered the catfish and bo la lot. The large catfish and easily feed a family of six and maybe still have some leftovers. I recommend ordering ahead so the wait isn't as long but still well worth the wait. read more

The restaurant smelled weird; not the stench of fish sauce. There were more staff to customer ratio, and they were crowding the cash register instead of serving us. It took them a while before they came over to take our order, on top of that, they didn't offer us water upon seating. Ordered the grilled pork spring roll. There were several greens in it, one of them was mint leaves. Honestly, didn't fancy the rolls or the sauce. Got to give them the thumbs up 'cause they were definitely made fresh (the rolls were hot when picked up). Bistro B had much better peanut sauce than them. I will pick Bistro B's grilled pork rolls over this restaurant's. We also ordered the fish sauce flavored wings. They tasted just like any typical Chinese restaurant wings. They also charged us $9 for 8 pieces of wings. It was not worth it at all. Will still return one day to try the baked catfish that everyone talked about. Aside from that, I will not return. read more

I've been here when it opened up years and years ago, but recently revisited. And I'm glad I did, I forgot how good their fish is. I personally love spring rolls so it definitely hit the spot. I'm not going to talk about how good everything is or the atmosphere because I'm sure everyone touched base on it already. I'll talk about their service. I came here for dinner on a week day, and it wasn't busy. I had to say, I was really happy when I asked for more of the pickled carrots because our server actually gave me a full small bowl of it. It was more than enough, it may not seem like it's a big deal, but I hate it when some businesses are stingy when it comes to cheap side stuff customers ask for. So, if you want good service and good spring rolls, give this place a try because around the area, there's no other place that has better fish for spring rolls. read more

Love the Ca Nuong (grilled fish)!!! I have been here four times and it never fails to amaze me. Quick service and great food! To be honest I don't like fish at all and this place is one of the few that I do eat fish at. It's nice a crispy. Never burnt. They add chopped green onions, fried onions, and some nuts on top of the fish for extra flavoring. My boyfriend loves the extra toppings. What you do is essentially make your own spring rolls with the fish. Add the green leafs in there with the fish and roll it up to dip in the sauce! I absolutely love this sauce because it gives the rolls a nice sweet tangy citrus taste. I would love to come back more often to try other things besides the fish. I just highly recommend it for fish lovers read more

Excellent vietnamese food here, considering that I am from California where we have much more choices of vietnamese restaurants. A few months ago I visited this place on a weekend trip, and the food was memorable!!! Yum! I only had Saigon 3 Vi (a combination of 3 different entrees for wrapping with rice papers and green herbs), but I saw the other dishes being served to other guests ... and I must say...Everything looked dellcious. The presentation was beautiful, and very fresh ingredients and veggies were served for the wrap dishes. I thought something unique was that guests could bring their own beer!!! Spacious, clean, and great food. I would definitely stop by the next time I am in Dallas and crave vietnamese food. read more

Let me start of by saying that I love Vietnamese food, but this place was like going to a McDonalds with over sized portions of Vietnamese food. There where kids running around, unfriendly waiters who barely spoke to us...I could have gotten past all of this if the good was enjoyable! However...not even the chilled glass of coke tasted right....watered down and flat. The food looked beautiful but you can't trust food that comes out eight mins after you order it. My girlfriend and I were supper hungry and ready to eat. However...her short robs came out rubbery and slimy and my beef was burnt, rubbery, and slimmy. It was apparent they they not only over cook their food but let it sit up there when they cook it in bulk and not to order...the health department should look into this.... Which reminds me-the waiter accidentally brought us someone else's soup and rice and my girlfriend tasted it and said it smelled and tasted funny..three minutes later the waiter returned and instead of taking the food back to the kitchen and disposing of it.. We watched him give the soup and rice to another couple. And, when we complained about the food, the waiter said that there is nothing we can do about it and that the owner wouldn't e in until tomorrow. After pointing out the poor food quality and service...they ended up not charging us for the two or three bites we managed to eat. We left and sadly headed to the McDonald's next door...but that's another blog!!! read more

Delicious and authentic Vietnamese food. If you want a place to go that isn't all about the Pho, this is it! It might be a little expensive but taste delivers. My friend took me here and right when we stepped in, we were seated. The employee that sat us knew little English but I can speak Vietnamese so it's okay for me. I took a quick look at the menu and ordered the crawfish fried rice and I was not disappointed. The flavors were there and the service is great, I'm definitely coming back!! read more

Probably one of the most complete, "upscale" Vietnamese dining experiences I've ever had. The decor is nicer than any pho place I've ever eaten at, which is definitely a plus. Perfect for an intimate dinner with friends, or (in my case) a date. As for the food, I can't complain. We ordered the spring roll appetizer, which was amazingly fresh and came with a very tasty dipping sauce. For our entree, we order the grilled lemongrass chicken - again, amazing, the chicken was tender and delicious - and a bowl of seafood pho. The pho was the only problem I had with the entire meal. Granted, I'm not a huge fan of Asian seafood-based soups in general (mostly because of 'fishballs', the Asian equivalent of chicken nuggets), I was somewhat underwhelmed by both the flavor of the pho and the quality of the seafood. I can't really comment on whether or not it was authentic, it just really wasn't my taste. But other than that, very solid dining experience. The waiting staff was fast and polite, and overall the food was fantastic for the price. I'll definitely be checking this place out again, just probably not ordering the seafood pho! read more

7 courses of beef. I have been wanting to try this for years and we finally found somewhere that did this. I assumed if was going to have to travel to Vietnam. All the food was good. The only down side is that it more or less came out at once instead of course by course. You will not leave hungry. read more

We were in the area for errands and wanted to try something new. Plan A wasn't available for dine-in but glad we dropped in at this joint. We shared the 5. Shrimp paste on sugar cane, 46. Flame-broiled marinated sirloin and 40. Charcoal broiled pork, egg roll. Everything was very super TASTY AND FRESH!!! Love the variety on the menu and we hope to return to try the "House Specials" soon. Saigon Block is rock solid!!! read more

Great little Vietnamese restaurant. Authentic? I don't know, since I have never been to Vietnam. However, a couple of my Vietnamese friends took me here last weekend and they swear by it. I can understand why. Service is great. Even though they were very crowded for lunch on a Sat., food came up fast and was still steaming hot. One thing to try is the fried catfish. But only if you have a party of 4 or more. They fry up a huge catfish. Head and all. They serve it with veggies and rice paper wrap. You can basically make your own fried cat fish springs rolls. Man this stuff is good. read more

Came all the way from Fort Worth to try this place for their infamous fish and it lived up to its hype for sure! Everything hit the spot. The only con about this place is their bathrooms.. a little clean up every now and then would be nice. read more

I have never been to a Vietnamese restaurant before and did not know what to expect. The staff was very helpful, and friendly. Food was served quite quickly. The atmosphere was quite nice with a nice and clean, relaxing environment. The food had more than generous portions. The presentation of the food was excellent. Quality had a little to be desired, Although this may be due to my lack of comparison. The baked catfish was beautiful and presentation, but a little dry. Apparently, if you fail to specify, they will give you the extra large... Which is sufficient to feed three people. They use a lot of nuts in the toppings on their dishes that somewhat overwhelmed the flavors in the foods. The drinks have an odd taste to them. As the plain water had a similar thing bad taste, I presume this was the cause as opposed to their efforts. read more

Thinking about the fried fish here makes my mouth water. This place has many unique menu items that are not commonly found at other Vietnamese restaurants. The food is pretty well flavored and consistent. I obviously recommend the fried catfish, but bo 7 mon is also pretty good. I wouldn't waste money on their hot pots or pho. The main gripe I have is that the food is way overpriced. The servers also rarely ever come by to check on you - if you want something you have to wave them down. read more

I LOVE the baked catfish here. It's amazing and you should always order the large. It's only a few dollars more than the medium but you get way more and left overs are always made into a congee soup by my mom which tastes great for a few days after even! We also always order the tai chanh (lime filet) or the hawaiian wrapped beef rolls. I usually go with a big group and we order a few items and do family style. That way we all get a taste of a few dishes and the split only comes out to $10-$15 per person. I've tried the pho here once when they first opened and it wasn't that great. Their regular dishes do seem a bit pricey though. But def go with a group and get the good stuff! read more

I went here with my family. We were pretty excited to have found this place. We beat the dinner rush and got seated right away. There aren't small or medium sized fish. There's only 5 of us so we can't finish the large one along with the 7 course beef. I heard they don't ever have the small or medium sized one. So we didn't get to try the fish. We got 4 orders of 7 course beef. My favorite was the leaf wrapped beef and vinegar beef. My family really enjoyed the food. My mom is an excellent cook so for them to compliment the food is a big deal. The waiter was excellent. He paid close attention to all the tables and provided immediate service . I would love to go back and try the fish read more

The only time I ever come here is with my boyfriend's family and the only thing we ever order is the 7 courses of beef (bo 7 mon) and occasionally some fried chicken wings. I'm probably not the best critic when its comes to Vietnamese food because they all taste amazing to me. The best indicator of me not being the most credible critic is that I think pho tastes the same everywhere... HOWEVER, the 7 courses of beef is always a guaranteed I'm-so-full-but-I'll-keep-eating meal. Honestly, some of the beefs taste the same to me...darn my indistinguishable tastebuds. Doesn't matter though because they're all so good. Fried chicken is a delish oily food you can add on with everything else. I also tried the fried fish (I'm assuming it was the catfish) which was pretty tasty. Fried so good I ate the bones too...don't know if I was supposed to eat it like that or not. read more

Came on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty empty. The inside of the restaurant is decorated very modernly and very spacious with tons of seating. We came mainly to try their fried catfish with spring rolls. The fish was huge and cooked perfectly. Their portion size is huge. We got an order of the catfish and 2 other dish and it left our party of 10 fully satisfied. The fish was cooked really well. It was very tender and fell apart as soon as you touched it. The skin was crispy and paired well with the meat. I've had plenty of spring rolls before but never with fish and it was quite tasty. The only factor is the distance. It is too far for Vietnamese food when Arlington is only 15 minutes away. Will I come back? Only if I'm in the area. read more

I went here last Saturday, and after a 20 minute wait, we were finally seated and the food sure did not disappoint! Do not listen to the haters! This place was delicious! I tried the nem nguong cuon and it was very good. Not as good as Brodard in Westminster but worthy of the silver medal in my book. Also for $3, it was also very reasonable. For the main course, they have three size catfish (med, large, xlarge) and when I asked them the difference between medium and large- the serve just replied "medium feeds 2-3 people" and "large feeds 4-5." No specific necessary, AND he was already growing impatient with me. Haha, oh wells, that's what Viet servers do I guess. So seeing how it was going to be double the size for only $3 more dollars, we opted for the large and it did take awhile for the fish to bake but it was well worth it! The fish was extra crispy on the outside and moist and flaky on the inside. They also cut out the spine/scale which made it a million times easier to eat than most places. Also, I substituted the mam nem for regular old fish sauce because mam nem is gross. The service can be spotty and everyone has a sort of no-nonsense approach. I wish it could be better but its very common in Vietnamese culture to leave their guest alone while they eat. On the other hand, do not hesitate to flag one down and get what you need. Also, our waiter (not sure if we even had a designated one) never returned with our check, but that's ok because you have a table number taped on so you can pay up front. I definitely recommend this place to any Viet food aficionados out there. It is even better than my beloved Favori in Westminster, which says alot! I am already making plans to come back here with my family when they visit. read more
