Mr. Cort, the hygienist, is always calm, nice, and sweet, and the rest of the staff has also been wonderful. Unfortunately, our most recent visit with the dentist was very disappointing. My special needs son, who is autistic, nearly cried because the dentist could not get him to open his mouth for an X-ray. Instead of showing patience and understanding, the dentist became loud and pushy, saying, "He wont open his mouth, I don't know why he wouldn't, he's done this many times." His tone was not discreet, and the interaction left my son feeling scared and uncomfortable. My son almost cried while he was sitting at the chair. Even though my son has managed dental visits before, this experience has now made him fearful of going at all. It was very disheartening to see such little compassion for children with special needs. After years of loyalty, we will now be looking for another dental office--one that treats all children with kindness, patience, and respect.

The hygienist did a decent job cleaning my teeth. The reason I went there is the dentist we've been going to is now out of network with our insurance. We thought, at first, tnis meant we needed to find a new dentist. So, after my teeth are cleaned the hygienist asks me how long it's been since I've been to the Dentist. In her voice, it sounded like she thought it had been a very long time. I told her 6 months, then she tells me I have 5 cavities and my crown needs to be replaced, the dentist confirmed. I was shocked and in disbelief. This has happened in 6 months?? I take good care of my teeth and never get any tartar buildup. Then she proceeds to tell me about this ointment they can put on my teeth w/ cavities ($120/tooth) that will slow down the growth or something like that. I have never heard of such a thing. So, it was going to be $600+ for the ointment and $750 out of pocket for the crown. When I get home, I call my old dentist. First, I asked about the ointment and they confirmed nothing like that exists. Then I told them about all my cavities and bad crown. They, too, we're in disbelief and fit me in the next day to check everything out at no cost. They took X-rays and confirmed my suspicions. I have ZERO cavities and my crown is absolutely fine. We decided to change our dental insurance and go back to our old dentist. If you decide to use Carus Dental I would just be careful so you don't get scammed.

From the moment I spoke with the receptionist, until the end of the phone call, she was so unfriendly. I was treated like an extreme inconvenience the whole call. She had such an unprofessional attitude and was so annoyed by the fact she had to even speak to me. Instead, she decided to profusely keep judging me because I didn't know certain information. If you struggle with dental anxiety or if adult phone calls are something new/difficult to you, DO NOT attempt to go here. I couldn't imagine speaking to anyone in the manner of how she spoke to me, especially not an inquiring new patient. Beware.

I have never been in a more painful dental chair in my life - and that includes the emergency room at Parkland hospital. I have not had any issue or problem with the chair at ANY other dentist. As soon as the hygienist finished the x-rays and reclined the chair I was in serious pain,both back and neck. I just have an average, 52 year old bad back, too - no serious spinal condition or neck injury. I can't imagine what being in those chairs for more than a minute or two would feel like for someonewho does. I was told that all the chairs there are the same. The hygienist was nice, friendly, and the desk was as well. I never met the dentist during my new patient visit, although I was told several times she was "on her way back to meet me". Even after I explained to the hygienist what the issue with the chair was, and was told there is no solution, she then told the dentist, and the dentist never made it back to my exam room. Again, a complete waste of time, and a huge, frustrating disappointment. Especially for a first visit to a new practice I was really excited about. The irony here is that I found this practice for my wife and I, and after some research, I booked both our appointments. This was MY idea. Hers was before mine, and she couldn't stop RAVING about how great the dentist is, his care and concern, his chair-side manner was awesome, how wonderful and helpful his assistant was,how great this office is, and we were both excited about my visit the following week. I was scheduled with the other dentist, and had the opposite experience. I can't help but wish I had been scheduled with my wife's dentist, I might have had a similar experience. Instead, I was treated like an afterthought, and ignored by the dentist who couldn't see her way to come to my exam and meet me, and address my concern with the chair. So now, my wife and I, who would have been regular patients at this practice (with a lot of work to be done), are going to find another practice. Because I was scheduled with the other dentist, not the one she had. We left our previous dentist for similar experiences; feeling ignored, like out concerns weren't being heard or addressed. What a disappointment.

I live in Pearland,Tx and her office is in Spring, Tx which is a 58 minute drive which is worth every minute and second of the drive. The state of the art office and the wonderful staff made it very comfortable for me. I forgot I was having my tooth pulled. All that week prior to my appointment , I tried to cancel and Dr.Jackson talked me through the entire process on a daily basis what I would expect before and after the procedure. The day of I was so nervous she told me anytime during the process we can take a break she just wanted me to be comfortable. Well the procedure was successful wonderful I had no pain and I didn't have to take any pain medicine at all. To say the least I have found my new Dentist thank you Dr. Jackson.
