I was invited in for a meeting with the Doctor to discuss my Yelp review. The entire meeting conveyed extreme professionalism, courteousness and great respect. It was explained to me that after their investigation, they realized that a policy was wrongly communicated to me regarding wax distribution and charges. The policy states that wax, rubber bands and storage boxes are given to patients currently in treatment at AVA - AT NO CHARGE. Patrons who request the aforementioned items who are not AVA patients are charged a small fee. Now this... THIS MAKES TOTAL SENSE! It was an honest mistake and misunderstanding on the part of the person my daughter spoke with that day. The doctor assured me the staff had reviewed the policy, and this would not be an issue moving forward. He also communicated how important it was to him and the practice that we were happy, and I truly felt that came from his heart. As a final gesture of good faith he offered us a second retainer when she finishes her treatment. And as we all know... every kid needs that... because eventually they lose the first one:) The value of this retainer is about $600. I made sure he knew I didn't write the review to get anything for free and tried to tell him this was not necessary, but he insisted. I am happy with how this was all cleared up. And I can honestly give them a five star rating... not because I got something for free... but because they addressed the issue and did so in a professional, respectful manner. I came in for a consultation to learn more about Invisalign Express and unfortunately did not have a great experience with Dr. Amin M. The consultation felt rushed and not very thorough. Since it was a complimentary visit, it seemed like there wasn't much effort put into explaining options in a clear, patient-friendly way. Dr. Amin primarily used technical orthodontic terminology without breaking it down, which made it difficult to understand what he was referring to. Additionally, the interaction didn't feel very personable or attentive. I felt that my concerns weren't fully acknowledged, and even after expressing that I understood certain points, the explanations continued in a way that felt repetitive rather than helpful. What stood out most to me was that Dr. Amin M. made multiple comments about my teeth in a way that felt more aligned with general dentistry rather than orthodontics. This came across as unnecessary and somewhat out of scope for the consultation I was seeking, which made the experience feel less focused and less professional. That said, I do want to note that the front desk staff was wonderful, very polite, respectful, and welcoming. They made a great first impression. Overall, I was hoping for a more professional, patient-centered consultation experience and did not receive that. I will not be going back here for treatment. read more

My husband took a transfer out of state and they were unwilling to work on a treatment plan while we were paying them "what the insurance would have paid" on the remainder of my son's treatment and my son was unable to be seen. Yes, Ava Orthodontics you did file my claim. However, they did not take the insurance and did the claim right there when service started. They waited 1.8 years to do it. Insurance does not take pre-existing conditions. They do not take in consideration that every year, employers make their employees sign up for new Heath, eye and dental insurance. So, yes Ava you did file a claim but after almost 2 years, the insurance company denied it. You told me at beginning of treatment to pay out of pocket and then will file a claim at the end and they would refund what I had pay, but it did not happen. read more

She told you she wanted metal braces and your response to her was NO do the Invisalign trust me it is better, sleep on it you will change your mind. Well no she didn't change her mind! You were bullying her to get Invisalign. Just know I will not allow you to bully my daughter. I guess you figured she was young and you could push your Invisalign product on her since it's a larger profit margin for you. This place is just horrible and unethical. read more

It really pains me to have to leave this review, and it has taken a while to get all of my thoughts together. I have had a mostly good experience with Ava, but due to deceptiveness that involves money, I feel obligated to do this. Long story short, my husband switched jobs during our daughter's treatment, and our old insurance company did not pay their portion due in full, so we of course had to pay it. Our new insurance fought paying anything, but we finally got them to make a payment (which was more than was actually due). During this course of time, the balance from the old insurance was added to our monthly payments. When I spoke to the receptionist about when I could get the money that was overpaid back, I was told that we had to wait 6 months, because sometimes insurance companies request money back. This sounded odd, but I trusted them and said ok. Six months go by, and I ask about the money again. By this time I have paid my entire bill, along with what was still owed by the old insurance company, and the new insurance company had paid a portion. Also, my daughter's treatment is complete. I'm then told that I have to wait six months after her treatment has been completed.. So, I wait until again. Six more months pass by and I call them again and ask for my money. They finally agree to send it to me via check. Once I receive it, it's only for a partial amount. I call and email the woman I have been dealing with and she says she has to contact the accounting department. After getting the run around and finally getting an answer I'm told they can't return a portion of the money back to me, because it's owed to the insurance company, but they also won't send it back to the insurance company unless they request it back. She then told me that they were "holding on to it" in case we wanted to come back to them to begin phase 2 treatments for my daughter. I assured her we will NOT be coming back. So, now I have to either get my insurance company to fight to get the money back, or once we start phase 2 (somewhere else, of course), we will pay more out of pocket to cover the portion of money our insurance paid to this company and they're holding on to. One thing you don't play around with is someone's money, and I feel like they were deceptive in how they handled this. I'm very disappointed, and would never trust them again. Update: 11/20/17 This is in response to Ava's response: That's not even a true statement. There is still a balance on my account that I was told you were holding onto in case I wanted to start phase 2 of my daughter's treatment with your company. I was also told that it could not be refunded to me, and would only be refunded to my insurance if they requested it. Nice way to try and save face, though. read more

The staff here are so friendly and are attentive to your needs, they listen to what your concerns are look for solutions. Dr.Amin helped me a few days ago with making me a new retainer and the experience was very enjoyable. I'm happy to say my smile will now be kept in place with the new retainer I purchased, and the material is way stronger than my previous one. Highly recommend Ava and thank you Dr.Amin!! read more

I can't say enough great things about AVA orthodontics and Dr. Amin Movahhedian! I am currently in the process of getting invisalign, and could not have asked for a better orthodontist and office team! They financed my treatment easily and interest free within the office, and coordinated easy monthly payments for me, so I don't even have to worry about it! They are ALWAYS friendly, appointments are always started on time, and the Dr. is wonderful about showing you your progress, his plans for your treatment, and answering any questions/concerns you may have! I am not even half way through my treatment and can already see a significant difference! If you are compliant with your treatment, it will be worth your time and money! Dr. Amin is the best! You will love AvA Orthodontics. It is brand new, beautiful and super clean and bright. I am doing invisalign and my teen daughter is doing wire braces. Everything is progressing exactly as planned and explained by the doctor and staff. The staff is wonderfully friendly and everyone has great smiles! Dr. Amin is the nicest, friendliest guy you will ever meet. You and your kids will love him. They have really thought of everything when it comes to making people comfortable during their treatments, they have engaging games and even have netflix. I love that with the invisalign they have a computerized 3d model so I can see where my teeth were and where they will end up. It keeps me really excited about the progress. read more
