The one downside (hence the lack of 5 stars) is that they are NOT in network with insurance, so you will pay a little differently. Keep that in mind. I also love that in the event we overpay or insurance kicks out more coverage than expected, the office is great at refunding you! Win-win. Just had my new patient exam and cleaning today. Absolutely amazing experience! Everyone was nice -- but more importantly -- highly competent. I have thousands of dollars worth of dental work in my mouth and it's critical to protect my investment with great dental professionals. Dr. Heft clearly knows her stuff. Her assistant, Jessica, is excellent. Kerry, the hygienist, did a thorough and careful cleaning. I can't speak for the other dentists, but it's a beautiful facility with modern technology. I would think you'd be in good hands with any of them. But I'll be sticking with Dr. Heft.

I was brought here as a kid, and my experience initially seemed positive. Unfortunately, two very…read moreserious things happened during my treatment that still greatly upset me. First: I have what's sometimes called a "gummy smile." The orthodontist strongly pushed a cosmetic laser procedure to remove gum tissue. I initially considered it, but after discussing it with my dad, I realized I didn't want a cosmetic procedure, especially for something that wasn't medically necessary and wasn't something that aesthetically bothered me. When I told the orthodontist that I didn't want the surgery, I was told, *"It's not up to you,"* along with a glare. Being told as a child that I had no say in whether a cosmetic medical procedure would be done to my body was extremely distressing and it's a vivid memory to this day. Now that I'm an adult, I've never had a single medical issue related to my gums, which reinforces that it truly wasn't necessary. Second, and the issue that still bothers me the most: My canines were shaved down without my knowledge or consent. At the time, the orthodontist told me he was simply removing extra glue. Later I realized he had actually reshaped my canines, removing a distinctive feature of my smile that I really loved. I was never asked about this beforehand, and it was only apparent after the procedure had already been done. As an adult, those teeth are also more sensitive than they used to be. Parents, if you bring your kids here, please pay very close attention to what procedures are being done and make sure everything is clearly explained beforehand. Patients, especially younger ones, deserve to be informed and have their concerns respected! If shaving down my teeth to change their look was necessary for my bite, that should have been something discussed with me instead of a mumbled "just tidying things up" while the drill is going. The only real way to fix what happened would be cosmetic reconstruction of the teeth, which would cost hundreds of dollars. Unfortunately, that's not something I expect this office will take responsibility for.

Let me begin by expressing how disappointed I was with my recent visit to your office. I came in specifically to have a veneer on my front tooth reattached--the same veneer your office placed approximately two years ago. Without my knowledge, I was charged $180 for what was described as an "evaluation," despite the issue being transparent and straightforward. That fee felt excessive, especially given the nature of the visit. Once I was taken back to the service area, I waited for over an hour before being seen. The actual reattachment of the veneer took only a few seconds. To my surprise, I was then charged an additional $350 for the procedure. This experience was quite different from my previous visits, where I had built a positive and trusting relationship with Dr. Gonzalez, who initially recommended the crowns and veneers. As someone who has spent much of my career in public service--including working in hospital environments--I understand how important it is to treat every person with care and dignity, especially when they are vulnerable. Many of us go out of our way to ensure others feel seen and valued. As a former officer who has served this country and interacted with people from all walks of life, I can say sincerely that your office has developed a clinical, impersonal atmosphere that left me feeling unwelcome and uncomfortable. I told the office manager I couldn't afford it, but they refused to even do a basic check up unless I gave in to their extortion demands. It is one thing to recommend a procedure, it is another to refuse service for other unrelated issues unless you give in to their demands completely. Come on YELP and read many other reviews about the same issue. Something has changed in this office and their practice. I will be going back to get a written detailed explanation as to their operating procedures.

I appreciate his honesty. At one point, his staff even told me I had a refund coming because they overcharged my credit card during a previous visit. What dental office does that? I have never been in a more painful dental chair in my life - and that includes the emergency room at Parkland hospital. I have not had any issue or problem with the chair at ANY other dentist. As soon as the hygienist finished the x-rays and reclined the chair I was in serious pain,both back and neck. I just have an average, 52 year old bad back, too - no serious spinal condition or neck injury. I can't imagine what being in those chairs for more than a minute or two would feel like for someonewho does. I was told that all the chairs there are the same. The hygienist was nice, friendly, and the desk was as well. I never met the dentist during my new patient visit, although I was told several times she was "on her way back to meet me". Even after I explained to the hygienist what the issue with the chair was, and was told there is no solution, she then told the dentist, and the dentist never made it back to my exam room. Again, a complete waste of time, and a huge, frustrating disappointment. Especially for a first visit to a new practice I was really excited about. The irony here is that I found this practice for my wife and I, and after some research, I booked both our appointments. This was MY idea. Hers was before mine, and she couldn't stop RAVING about how great the dentist is, his care and concern, his chair-side manner was awesome, how wonderful and helpful his assistant was,how great this office is, and we were both excited about my visit the following week. I was scheduled with the other dentist, and had the opposite experience. I can't help but wish I had been scheduled with my wife's dentist, I might have had a similar experience. Instead, I was treated like an afterthought, and ignored by the dentist who couldn't see her way to come to my exam and meet me, and address my concern with the chair. So now, my wife and I, who would have been regular patients at this practice (with a lot of work to be done), are going to find another practice. Because I was scheduled with the other dentist, not the one she had. We left our previous dentist for similar experiences; feeling ignored, like out concerns weren't being heard or addressed. What a disappointment.
