It matters not how small or large the work that is required. The staff..when I walk in, when I am working with the talented professionals who assist Dr. Miller, when I receive the explanation of costs, the procedure, and executing the payment process, I feel at home. In a Dental office, that is hard to achieve, but at SCD, it is the norm. Kindness, support, courtesy, professional work, and being treated with respect is lacking in most corners of our culture. Not here. Not ever. I want to go by and hang out..when have you heard that? Thanks, Ron for who you are and the positive culture you have created at Spring Creek Dentistry!

I was very much looking forward to coming here, and my first visit as a new patient was a huge…read moredisappointment and a complete waste of time. I have never been in a more painful dental chair in my life - and that includes the emergency room at Parkland hospital. I have not had any issue or problem with the chair at ANY other dentist. As soon as the hygienist finished the x-rays and reclined the chair I was in serious pain, both back and neck. I just have an average, 52 year old bad back, too - no serious spinal condition or neck injury. I can't imagine what being in those chairs for more than a minute or two would feel like for someonewho does. I was told that all the chairs there are the same. The hygienist was nice, friendly, and the desk was as well. I never met the dentist during my new patient visit, although I was told several times she was "on her way back to meet me". Even after I explained to the hygienist what the issue with the chair was, and was told there is no solution, she then told the dentist, and the dentist never made it back to my exam room. Again, a complete waste of time, and a huge, frustrating disappointment. Especially for a first visit to a new practice I was really excited about. The irony here is that I found this practice for my wife and I, and after some research, I booked both our appointments. This was MY idea. Hers was before mine, and she couldn't stop RAVING about how great the dentist is, his care and concern, his chair-side manner was awesome, how wonderful and helpful his assistant was,how great this office is, and we were both excited about my visit the following week. I was scheduled with the other dentist, and had the opposite experience. I can't help but wish I had been scheduled with my wife's dentist, I might have had a similar experience. Instead, I was treated like an afterthought, and ignored by the dentist who couldn't see her way to come to my exam and meet me, and address my concern with the chair. So now, my wife and I, who would have been regular patients at this practice (with a lot of work to be done), are going to find another practice. Because I was scheduled with the other dentist, not the one she had. We left our previous dentist for similar experiences; feeling ignored, like out concerns weren't being heard or addressed. What a disappointment.

I needed a cleaning and either an implant or a bridge for a broken tooth. The new patient cleaning…read moreand exam process was excellent - but, I didn't form my negative opinion UNTIL seeking a second opinion due to the high prices received in my treatment plan. (3 unit bridge for my missing tooth -$6000, one crown on tooth that needed to have amalgam filling removed -$2250.) When I arrived at the next dentist with my x-rays from Dr. Scott Anderson's office, the dentist concurred with the work needed - with one HUGE difference: He said that, first & FOREMOST I should remove my badly decayed WISDOM TOOTH. I replied, "What wisdom tooth" thinking they had all been removed. He then proceeded to identify it to me in his X-ray AND Dr. Scott Andersons X-ray. Furthermore - he said that he would refer me to an oral surgeon for that work - but that he would recommend that I have that tooth extracted because it was a health issue while the others were mostly cosmetic. (Please note that the wisdom tooth was still fully in the gum, but it had opened the gumline just enough to allow bacteria in which had started the decay process - it was impacted and likely beyond the scope of Dr. Scott Anderson's ability to remove it as well). I asked the new dentist if it was possible that Dr. Anderson could have 'missed' that badly decayed tooth in the x-ray - to which he replied, "No dentist could miss that tooth." This led me to only one logical conclusion: Dr. Scott Anderson chose only to create a Treatment Plan based on quick, easy, profitable work that he could perform. I call that 'selective dentistry'. The sad thing is that the overall experience was positive (prior to me finding out WHAT HE FAILED TO INFORM ME OF - WHICH WAS MY MOST SERIOUS PROBLEM - THE WHOLE REASON X-RAYS ARE TAKEN IN THE FIRST PLACE). So, Dr.Anderson was completely content to perform $8250 worth of 'gravy work', only to leave me with a badly decayed wisdom tooth (which if you could have seen it after I had it extracted, would have surely had me in serious pain within a short matter of time) - only to probably 'inform' me later, when I returned in pain - that, 'Oh - I see - you have a badly decayed wisdom tooth... here, let me REFER you to a specialist - oh...and see my receptionist on the way out to pay for your consultation fee!' His office contacted me to return for another cleaning - at which I explained all of this...predictably no one reached out with as much as an apology. This just reinforces the practice of ALWAYS seeking a second opinion. By the way... that 'broken/missing tooth that had created my need for a bridge' was a molar that was decayed approximately 35-40 YEARS ago... I went to my dentist who said only that it had to be extracted. I declined. I sought a second opinion. The next dentist said IMMEDIATELY (and without knowledge that I was getting a second opinion) that he needed to do a root canal followed by a crown. He NEVER even offered extraction as an option! I got to keep that tooth for 30+ additional years! GET SECOND OPINIONS - and DON'T TELL THEM THAT THEY ARE THE SECOND OPINION.

Dr Andersen is in network and our payments should equal EOB patient responsibility. When inquired about one of the charges, the office said they apply difference to other family members on the same insurance. Well this never happened. I have, in good faith, made many attempts to address this with the office since 6/13/24 and finally requested for the office to upline it to the dentist. Not one time someone reached out back to me on this issue. Even though I provided the copy of all EOBs and payments in question along with my reconciliation. Attempt by MetLife representative on 9/10/24 to reach the office also failed. 3 months later, the answer I still receive is that billing did not have time to look into this.

When it was time for a root canal on a backed molar due to a cracked tooth, he put me into a massive TMJ episode which he didn't seem to know anything about this issue. Which is hard to believe. I had horrible ear pain and muffled hearing for weeks until I decided to get a second opinion from and ENT Dr. and a TMJ specialist. I knew little about TMD. Everything was fine until he had to redo my root canal due to still having pain in the molar. He kept me hours in the chair. I swear he used a coat hanger to try and get in my tooth . It felt like a truck hit me. Turns out the entire reason I developed TMJ is he threw my bite off. He never once checked my bite on the Temp. Metal cap. The tech put on a cap too short. Even after complaining about ear pain and the cap falling off, he still never mentioned TMJ. He just gave me more antibiotics. So I Clenched and grinned for weeks due to the uneven bite, my jaw joints were inflamed I wept in tears! Months of splint therapy, a TMJ specialist ( no dental or medical insurance will cover) a new cap, a redone root canal that was not completed correctly, equal abrasions to correct my bite and thousands of dollars later. My advice. Do not let him do any major work. No matter how nice he is. I unfortunately know all about TMJ now and still have issues with it today. I wish he knew what it was back then and know when he needs to send a patient to an endodontist.

If you like hearing excuses that they didn't know your appointment was confirmed because the office relies on a text message system that they know doesn't work on their end. They no longer perform courtesy reminder appointment calls, nor send out emails, so you show up only to be told they don't have you on the schedule, but they'll try to work with you if you're willing to wait. That even when you show them the text message reminders and confirmations, their office manager gives you a, "oh we know, but it's neither here nor there". Way to show your lack of accountability there. If you are ok with having to wait extra time, even though you showed up to your appointment early, and someone else showed up late, they still leave them in the original order. If you're ok with understaffing and constant over booking. I've tried different hours, requesting the first appointment of the day, the last appointment, an appointment right after lunch, to ensure there's less time spent waiting. Still the same outcome. If you are ok with getting rescheduled when you get to the dental office, because the dentist is on vacation, and you never received a courtesy phone call letting you know of this. THIS is the place for you. I started going here around 4 years ago. Brought my daughter as well to try to make it convenient to have our appointments be set back to back. Instead of having to take time off work for 2 separate appointments on different days. During quarantine time, one of many ironies of these times. With her being underage, she can't technically be receiving dental work without me being present, 2-3ft away from where she sits, face mask required for everyone. But us switching seats, for me to receive dental work, from the same dentist, same hygienists, while she sat in a chair 2-3ft away, with a mask on, was not ok, and the appointment would not be made. Dentists, please realize that the few minutes you see your patients, are very small compared to the time we spend waiting due to your office being overbooked and badly managed. Even your hygienists and dental assistants show discomfort each time they're being pulled in different direction and can't focus on their task at hand. After these 4+ years of the same type of experiences, I won't be back.
