This was an excellent lunch. The staff was incredibly friendly and even let me sample two of their house-made sauces for free--both were outstanding. The restaurant itself is clean and welcoming, with a feel that's more upscale than a typical counter-service spot. The food came out quickly, and it's clear they take pride in what they make. The gyro meat was especially impressive--very flavorful, tender, juicy, and some of the better gyro meat I've had. The produce was fresh, and the wrap itself was excellent as well. The only area for improvement was the rice. It was fairly plain, lacked seasoning, and was a bit wet. The portion was also on the smaller side considering how inexpensive rice typically is. That said, the quality and portion of the gyro more than made up for it. Overall, it was a great meal and a solid value. I would absolutely return. read more

This is the first time visiting the Sahara Cafe. It's in the same location the House of Hummus was in a few years ago. I ordered the Chicken Shawarma Pita with a side of fries and got it to go. On the way home the delicious smell was making me very hungry. The chicken shawarma pita was delicious with fresh grilled, perfectly spiced white meat chicken along with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, and homemade tzatziki sauce. The fries were hand cut potatoes, fried and seasoned with salt and Mediterranean spices. Hussein was very friendly and helpful and told me how they make everything fresh and healthy using Mediterranean herbs and spices. He even gave me a side of his Peri-Peri hot sauce to try which he makes from scratch. It was also very good! Our inaugural visit was last week (September 26). Upon entering, we were immediately and warmly greeted by Yusra. We explained it was our first visit, and she took time to explain the menu to us. The choices were plentiful, and it took a few minutes to decide. We all chose the Chicken Shawarma Plate with various sides. Each bite was more delicious than the previous. Once we ordered, our food was prepared fresh by Sam and delivered to our table. Our meals were delicious, plentiful and very good tasting. Yusra checked on us during our meal as she interacted with other guests. The prices were very reasonable, and we left with a promise that next time we are in Alpharetta, we will be back. Was welcomed when I came in the door by a nice young lady. Then she went through the menu and explained/recommend what I should order. I settled on the combo gyro with the garlic sauce based on the young lady's recommendation and wow it was amazing. My wife got the shawarma chicken meal and really enjoyed it as well. I have been going to this restaurant for lunch at least once per week. The food is fantastic! I have never tasted chicken so tender and flavorful. The salad is made with quality types of lettuce. And the humus is so fresh. The staff is super friendly and accommodating. They really go out of their way to make you happy. The vibe is fresh with nice background music. All the folks that eat there seem very friendly. The prices are in line with what you would expect for a meal several notches above normal fast food places.
