First and foremost, all the food we had was really delicious. Service was exceptional. Atmosphere/Ambience was great. Ephesus is a family-run restaurant and the restaurant isn't fine-dining but also not really a casual restaurant. It sits in-between, which seems perfect. We didn't have a reservation when we went, and were a party of 6. We had no trouble being seated for dining, but going forward, I would recommend making reservations. Our dining experience started out with complimentary warm (maybe freshly baked) naan(?) bread and a plate with a scoop each of Babaganush, Tyrokafteri and one other dip. All dips were delicious and went well with the bread. We had to request for more bread and made separate orders of the Babaganush and Tyrokafteri. We also had Hummus, Bosnian Dumpling, and Albanian Börek Plate for appetizers. All were delicious. Did I mention we were hungry? The chef also brought over a complimentary plate of round eggplants stuffed with ground beef, kind of like mini-Musakka. It was really delicious. By this point, we were getting full already. For main courses, our server recommended the Lamb Tandir to me and it was sumptuous. The Pistachio Urfa Kebab was also quite good, and something I wouldn't hesitate to order. The Chicken Shish Kebab and Chicken Adana Kebab were popular with our group. The chicken cubes of the Chicken Shish Kebab were very tender, juicy and flavorful. I wouldn't hesitate to say it's better than the one at that popular restaurant in Avalon. Same with the Adana Kebab. All the sides that came with the main dishes - rice, arugula/red onion salad - were excellent as well. Once the main course was completed, we were given complimentary Turkish tea and we ordered Turkish custard and Kunefe with cheese and pistachios (which was made to order) to go along with it. Like I previously stated, everything we had was delicious, and perfectly seasoned. Our server was quite attentive and friendly and made sure that all our needs were met. Absolutely no complaints. The restaurant was a pleasing space with lovely Turkish music in the background that was just loud enough that our table had no issues with conversation. Just perfect, relaxing and very comforting. Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to consider Ephesus as one of the best, if not the best restaurant in the area. Yes, probably even better than that popular restaurant in Avalon where it's usually hard to dine in without a reservation. I am already looking forward to dining here again. read more

My husband and I visited Ephesus Turkish Restaurant in Alpharetta on Saturday, March 21st around 5:30 pm. The food was excellent, but unfortunately the service fell short. Our server spoke very limited English and wasn't able to answer our questions about the menu or drinks. After we ordered, our food took a very long time to arrive, and it was clear there were some issues happening in the kitchen. The owner did apologize and kindly offered us some baklava to take home, which we appreciated. I truly hope they're able to resolve these service challenges. A great new addition to the Alpharetta area. We started out with a delicious smoky baba ganoosh which came with some perfectly baked Turkish type flat bread. As we were eating we saw two flutes of Turkish tea being served to a nearby table so we ordered some it came with two cubes of sugar. It was a nice drink for a chilly fall night, especially since they have not yet received their liquor license. We also ordered a beef kebab and a chicken kabob for our main course both were high quality and well marinaded. They came with a small salad and white rice the chicken was served with tzatziki sauce on the side. The meal as a whole was great and reasonably priced. The atmosphere was clean and pretty with a visible chefs kitchen. The service was friendly and quick. I highly recommend it. read more

Our family went to try this (beautiful!) place and we just fell in love with it. DELICIOUS! Huge servings. We can't wAit to hv leftovers for lunch! The appetizer platters are amazing. We had cabbage rolls, lamb, and dumplings for entrees. The desserts are off the charts delicious. I hv eaten a ton of baklava but this was just SO fresh and the best I've tasted. The custard was SPECIAL. Also loved the after dinner tea. Service was perfect and suggestions were perfect for us. We can't wait to go back. They are so friendly and kind as well. read more

Decor is attractive, neat, clean. Staff were friendly. The food was good. Presented well, good temperature, of good quality best I can tell. Not a foodie, so my review is not so detailed. We really enjoyed this restaurant. We tried many items. We had tabouleh, Greek Salad, Bosnian dumplings, mixed appetizer with Baba Ghanoush, Beet Salad, and Tirokafteri, Chicken Shish Kebab, Turkish baklava with vanilla ice cream and Turkish tea. All were delicious and the best Turkish food we have ever had. My husband said it was the best baklava he ever had. I really loved everything we ate. One of my favorite things were the stuffed grape leaves that came on the Greek salad. I never had ones like this before. They were spiced with lamp and very flavorful. The server was a woman who was very attentive and kind while also letting us enjoy our private date. The ambiance of the restaurant was very pleasant because of the cute decor with green velvet chairs, big flower art and olive trees. It was nice to hear Turkish music that wasn't too loud and seeing an open kitchen where you can see the chef preparing the food. It was a relaxing atmosphere. We came here for the first time to celebrate a birthday dinner. Even though we had made a reservation in advance and the restaurant wasn't very busy (there were only four other tables besides us), our food arrived an hour after we ordered it (we ordered at 6:30 pm and got our meals around 7:30 pm) -- only after we reminded the staff. Our son's meal took even longer -- over an hour to arrive (we had ordered meatballs for him). The chef personally came to apologize sincerely, which we appreciated, but unfortunately nothing really changed as a result. There was no salt or pepper on the tables, and we had to ask three times before we finally got some salt. We also reminded them twice to refill our water, but it never came. As for the food itself -- I ordered the lamb sauté, which was completely bland. We had to fight quite a bit to get salt just to make it edible. When we asked for the check, they offered us complimentary tea and dessert, but we politely declined -- by that point, we had completely lost our appetite. read more

Our lunch today was excellent! Really well prepared and interesting. The service was prompt, polite and knowledgeable. The lamb and pistachio kabobs were juicy and very delicious. The mixed appetizer plate was good as well, and quite interesting. Lots to like, including very pleasant decor, soft music, and impeccably clean.
