I eat middle eastern food quite a bit and this was very good... even the veggies were good! There was a belly dancer... she could shake shake that thang... seriously she was a good dancer. It was not very busy in here for a Friday night but that was great... there was no fighting for the servers attention, it wasn't crazy in here, we could get drinks easily, and we could see the show with no obstructions. Things start going down, as far at the dancer, at around 10pm and the location is open until 2am. From what they said they have belly dancing classes on Thursdays and actual dance shows on Friday and Saturday. While trying to decide on what I wanted for dinner, I thought about the various cuisines and restaurants around Atlanta that I haven't had yet. As I looked at my personal list, I decided to seek out Egyptian food. I have friends from Egypt, and while I've had some of their home cooked dishes, I was excited to share with them about the new dishes that I tried. I popped on UberEats and ordered takeout. It goes without saying that I can't speak on service or ambiance yet. For my dishes, I decided to go with one appetizer and one entree. I chose the Moussaka (Served cold. A delicious Egyptian dish consisting of sliced eggplant and mixed peppers fried to perfection and then sauteed with our special tomato sauce) for my app, after many a back and forth because everything sounded great. For my entree, I went with the Koshari (Koshari is the Egyptian national dish, it brings together the poor and the rich. This hearty dish is composed of rice, lentils, chickpeas, pasta, and topped with a spicy tomato sauce and fried onions. You will understand Egypt better with the first bite. Served with rice and mixed vegetables) because I wanted to try the national dish. As soon as I opened my bag, I was excited to see pita bread! I didn't know that this came with either of these options so that was a nice surprise. It also came with some type of dressing that was good. I can't place exactly what it is. My favorite taste was probably the moussaka. I scooped it onto the pita bread and dove in. It was so flavorful. The pita bread itself tasted a little hard, but not bad. The Koshari was very interesting! In the most respectful way, it's like a hodge podge of bases you might select one of, but this one's got it all! Spaghetti noodles, macaroni noodles, rice, AND lentils! It's fun! The crispy chickpeas and fried onions make for a nice topping. My critique is that I wish it was saucier. Perhaps the dish doesn't travel the greatest and maybe the noodles soaked it up, but there really wasn't much sauce on it. Also, just to note: one of my bites had a giant piece of what tasted like cloves in it. The rest of my bites felt pretty cohesive and mixed in though. As for prices, this place feels a bit on the pricier side. However, to me, it was worth the experience. Did you know that this is the only Egyptian restaurant in Atlanta? I had another event at pharaohs palace and was able to sample a lot of different dishes. I will tell you this was a wonderful experience with some amazing dishes. The owner was very nice and explained a lot of the dishes to us. As far as as appetizers went, I really enjoyed the hummus, the falafel, and the baba ghanoush. The falafel had cheese inside that added a great element to it. Also, the cauliflower was really good. When the entrées were brought out, I really enjoy this platter that had lamb and beef on it. Both were very flavorful and I highly recommend. The shrimp dish was also really good the sauce for it was amazing. and then there was a dish that was like a cross between a baked ziti in the lasagna. That was really delicious as well. The only thing that I didn't really care for was their traditional dish that was like a spaghetti but I just wasn't a fan of it. Food poisoning!! The night we ate here for a friend's birthday this past weekend, her husband got food poisoning from the "Mac and cheese" like dish. Oddly, my husband and I ordered it too, but the server came out and apologetically said, "I'm sorry, we only have one left." We let our friend have it. But... what does that "one left" mean? If chefs were cooking, they may have run out of an ingredient, but "one left" told us that their food must be outsourced? It was a VERY odd statement. Wherever they got it from, it was SOUR!! Also, they put unwrapped straws in our drinks barehanded!! A young guy working there picked up the straws and placed one in each of our drinks. Needless to say, we didn't drink them. Found this through a T-Mobile promotion so we made reservations for a birthday celebration. We arrived on time and were welcomed in and selected our table. The menu was a QR-Scan away on our mobile devices. We selected the MEZZA SAMPLER to begin with and enjoyed this with pita bread while the MACARONI BESHEMEL was being prepared. My wife ordered the KOSHARI and I had the EGYPTIAN SALAD. These were all very generous portions and my wife and I shared our meals. Our son had nearly a third of the BESHEMEL dish. The chef took very good care of us and visited the table several times. He shared some preparation experience that involved pan frying the lentils until they reach a certain color and then adding water to prevent them from getting mushy. Ordered the Pharoah's Palace Mixed Grill which was strangely $45 on uber eats, and $35 on grubhub. Had an uber eats coupon so after running both numbers, it was cheaper. No menu pics so not sure what the actual cost will be, but yelp had a 20% off Tue-Thur so that's probably the better bet. On to the food, I really enjoyed all the different meats. 2 nice lamb chops, beef, koubideh, and chicken. The chicken was charred completely black though. I still ate it. Being Egyptian food, which was my first time, it's a bit smokier and pungent than Mediterranean style, so it was a nice little change. My only knock was that there were too many green peppers where other veggies might have been better, but that must be the Egyptian style. All in all, delicious. So to my surprise this restaurant is located in like a small shopping center nevertheless parking was easy but then again I was there around 6pm I imagine parking can get hectic once there's a crowd. Anyhoo upon entering I felt the Egyptian vibe. The space was smaller than I thought but it was still very nice and they have live belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights!! The food was really delicious I ordered the fried calamari and peppers and a chicken flatbread. We came here for my Birthday just to try something different and ethnic. The entire experience from the ambiance, service and food was absolutely horrible. They had one waiter on a Sunday evening and we barely saw him we had to wait almost 30 min after our appetizer for him to come take our entree orders. Our food literally came out one person at a time over a 20 min period. By the time the last person got their food, the others finished their because we got tired of waiting and food was getting cold. I was 70$ poorer and craving Divan. T A S T E Appetizers Falafel: DRYYYYY. DRYYYYY. DRYYYYY. I've eaten falafel near and far. Even during my visit to Israel (where I had the best falafel ever) and this was a poor representation. As soon as it hit my mouth, it was like a powder bomb exploded. It just scrambled apart. Nothing, even hummus, could save it. We told the manager and he said it was his special recipe and included fava beans. It's a fail. Hummus: Decent. Not as smooth as I prefer. Comes with soft pita which is a win. Chicken Flatbread: The manager gave us this as a comp because we didn't like the falafel. This was actually really good once we took it home and placed it in the oven. I tried one at the restaurant and it wasn't crispy enough. Main: Lamb chops : Sorry but I compare every lamb chop in ATL to Divan and this was nowhere up to par. The flavor was actually ok but the chips were soooo tiny and skinny. Like baby lamb chops. And they were overcooked. I like my lamb chops a succulent medium and these were well done. The three rice pyramids were an interesting choice but not enough rice. The veggies were DELICIOUS! We found Pharaohs online and decided to give it a try. I'm not sure if the place wants to be a restaurant or a club but the hybrid approach wasn't working on a quiet Sunday evening. The disco lights, the lasers, and the gangster rap were horrible. In addition to the thumping, my wife was facing the screen showing the explicit lyrics. So made a reservation for 7pm this evening. We get there and they inform us that someone bought out the whole restaurant for the evening but they had patio seating available. Perfect if you are looking for good food, hookah, the best international music hits provided by a DJ, and good drinks! This spot would be good for a couple and for larger groups. Perfect chill spot! I cannot recommend this experience enough. It's the best authentic Mediterranean food I've had since moving to Atlanta 3 years ago. And I love and have tried many places. When I tell you that everything is made fresh, from scratch; the creamiest hummus. The Stuffed Falafel was crispy on the outside and perfectly seasoned and tender inside, the homemade olive oil it's served with is wonderful perfection. The Baba Ganoush was creamy, well seasoned and absolutely delectable. The Cairo Cauliflower is one of the best prepared dishes I've ever had. What a wonderful find! I travelled to Atlanta for my sons 30th birthday celebration. I surprised him, and was going to take him, his 2 children and his mom to dinner. The reviews were many, and wonderful so we all opted for this; and I made a reservation for 5 at 7pm. By 6.45 the party had swelled to 10, and we were running late. I called and adjusted the number and time to 7.45. My sons mom and I went ahead to make sure all would be well and walked into a beautiful restaurant, but it wasn't Indian, it was Egyptian. Ahmet told us that his menu was plentiful for the vegetarian/vegan palate, and they also had one of my favorites, lamb chops for my meat eating palate. We opted to stay, and boy! Am I glad we did. The food was amazing, the service was wonderful and the 5 ladies also celebrating a friends birthday made that wonderful trilling sound after we all sang happy birthday. Then came the unexpected. They had some fantastic Arabic music, and everyone in the restaurant started dancing and celebrating with us.
