I recently visited Reveille Cafe in Alpharetta and it was the perfect brunch experience. The High Point: The food and drinks were truly outstanding. The banana pancake was simply amazing--perfectly fluffy, richly flavored, and an absolute must-try. I also loved the specialty drink; the White Elephant coffee was incredible and a unique treat. Beyond the delicious menu, the entire staff was nice and friendly, which made the atmosphere welcoming and bright. Area for Improvement: Honestly, I can't think of anything! Everything from the food quality to the service was excellent. This cafe in Alpharetta is a cozy spot for breakfast or lunch. The staff is friendly and the seating comfortable, creating a welcoming atmosphere. There seems to be plenty of seating so you can probably get a seat easily outside of peak hours. I got the corned beef hash, which has good flavor, but probably wouldn't get it again. It's weird that it's a patty. :-) The real star, imo, is their biscuit. Flaky, buttery, and excellent -- good balance of crisp exterior and soft interior. They had some breakfast burritos on the menu which are calling my name for the next time I go. Coffee is served in a carafe at the table (and tastes reasonably good). Most meals are priced under $10 which is kind of unheard of now. Portion sizes are pretty filling. It's kind of my new go-to when I want something that isn't upscale brunch. read more

I came here for Father's Day brunch with my family! Parking is a little hectic but we were able to find a spot in their lot relatively quickly. For a popular day, we only had about a 15 minute wait. We were sat down at a booth and our waitress was super helpful with recommendations and checking in on us. I had the blanco omelette and split the creme brûlée French toast with my dad. Everything was SO DELICIOUS!! I loved my omelette and it was a good portion. The fresh dill was a good touch too. The French toast was also so sweet and yummy!! We ordered a grilled cheese and tater tots to go and what we got was a meh looking grilled cheese sandwich (with the cheese not even melted) and cubed potatoes. We didn't catch it until we were long gone. We ordered two chai lattes to go, but they came out luke warm. I wouldn't say it was hot. The flavor was good though on the potatoes. The grilled cheese itself was meh. We also ordered a cinnamon bun and of course that was on the sweet side. A cinnamon bun is always going to be sweet. We came to this inviting cafe on a busy Sunday morning. The wait was about an hour but once we were seated the food came quickly. We ordered their special omelette as well as the kitchen sink meal with the sweet potato pancake. The server was extremely sweet and attentive, but the truth is the food was just cold. I know they were busy but it seemed like our food sat on the line for a while. The Omelette was dry, the sausage with the kitchen sink meal was cold in the middle. I was driving around on a Sunday looking for a restaurant serving breakfast, and I stumbled across Reveille Cafe in Johns Creek. Upon entering, I was immediately greeted by two hostesses, and I told them I was dining alone. They suggested sitting at the bar. When I sat at the bar, I was immediately greeted by my server, Megan. She was friendly, welcoming, and personable. I told her this was my first visit to the restaurant, and she gave a number of sweet and savory suggestions. I decided to try the eggs, Benedict, and she told me that it was one of the most popular items on the menu. It came with your choice of sides, and I decided to try the smoked Gouda grits. It was one of the best eggs Benedict meals I've eaten. The eggs were poached perfectly. There was a very generous amount of hollandaise sauce, and the smoked Gouda grits were out of this world. After I finished the eggs Benedict, I was in the mood to try something sweet. I decided to order one of their cinnamon rolls. It was served warm with the perfect amount of cinnamon and icing. Needless to say, I would definitely recommend the restaurant based upon Megan's service, as well as the taste and quality of the food. Not bad, but better service could have made it great. I had a veggie omelette which was fine. I did ask for tomatoes on the side and my husband had my toast, since I'm low-carb right now. However, it was just veggies and eggs. I asked for the 99c additional Swiss cheese and the server didn't write it down and forgot. After we were served, she came back and dropped the check, but never asked, "How is everything?" There are a lot of servers on a Sunday after church, which is a good sign that they're busy and popular, but they fly around corners without warning (have any of you ever waited tables before? Classic safety protocol is when you are rounding a corner you say, "Corner!" or when you were walking behind somebody you say, "Behind!" A lot of lax on basic protocols). Also the iced tea is the weakest thing I've ever had. I drink unsweet tea everywhere and I wouldn't order it here again. Of all things to get wrong that is probably the easiest thing to make right. My son had locks and bagel, which is a special right now and it was delicious and a hefty portion. My husband had the Matador, which is an omelette with chorizo and he liked it. I have ordered Uber Eats delivery at least four times from this establishment now and have had excellent food each time! They have two of my favorite brunch dishes here - Shrimp and Grits and Eggs Benedict, and they do an awesome job of both. Everything is packaged in sturdy containers, reasonably priced, good portions and flavors. The eggs in my Benny are always poached to perfection, which I cannot say for a lot of places! There are tomatoes in the shrimp and grits which I didn't even think I would like as I'm not a huge tomato fan, but I gotta say this place has one of my favorite shrimp 'n' grits in the metro area that I've had so far alongside The Atlanta Breakfast Club, Pappadeaux, and Louisiana Bistreaux. The grits are so creamy and perfect, and they are not skimpy on the sauce or shrimp either which I appreciate! I would say this place has something for everyone. My mom has enjoyed the Pig Out omelette so far which has breakfast meats and cheese in it and comes with a side and bread of your choice. I highly recommend the Irish oatmeal also, perfectly cooked and sweetened with a caramelized raisin sauce. For years I have been going here. They had a fantastic wait staff and great food. Unfortunately, there has been a big decline. They employ staff that now spreads hateful anti israel rhetoric and the manager claims she will deal with it but it continues to permit it. My meal was interrupted by a Jewish customer who was upset by her server. Could you imagine going for a nice meal and having to deal with such hate? What a terrible environment. read more

Popped in to check out this fairly newer location over in Alpharetta. I usually go to Brooklyn bagel for my breakfast on the way to work but this place caught my eye. Has that family owned, small town cafe feel and was welcoming. Our server Caspar was extremely friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. We had such a hard time picking what to eat because they had so many good options. I ended up getting the kitchen sink because it offered exactly how I like to eat breakfast, a little bit of everything. Eggs, bacon and sausage, crispy potatoes and I could add on a single French toast which was perfect! My husband enjoyed the corn beef hash, and mom in law also ate all of her kitchen sink! My friend and I really enjoyed the delicious breakfast items (avocado toast and parfait) along with their great tasting coffee. The Manager who sat us was extremely nice and pleasant to talk with about the new decor along with the young gentleman who brought us our food items. Thank you!! The problem we encountered was the piss poor attitude of the server, Isabell. She needs a lecture on customer service. She first got agitated after asking for cream for our coffees and then decided to be short tempered the rest of our stay. We searched for a menu and found the online waitlist showed a small wait (Sunday breakfast in the 'Creek can be 30-45+ at some places!) Location: Imagine you had a hearty breakfast and then can head across to Newton Park and walk it off. Plenty of parking here and it's right next to Publix to grab groceries. Ambiance: There's a "coffee bar" people can sit at and all the booths are clean and well spaced. Love the flag and chalkboard wall. Food: snickers latte (delish! Tasted like Hot cocoa) corned beef hash & eggs (the best we've found in 5 years) mystic French toast which had corn flakes to crisp and a sweet vanilla syrup. (Run don't walk to order this. Absolutely fantastic). Everything was fresh, and there were enough choices and variety. Greeting/Service: We were seated within a few min of arrival (two hostesses keeping things organized and the waitlist told me exactly where I was.) Our waitress Lex came right over and was pleasant and prompt. She was great. During our meal a lovely woman brought our food and verified we had everything we needed. Good old southern hospitality! First time checking out this place and it was pretty crowded but we were seated quickly. The staff were all very friendly and sweet. The prices are a little steep. Once we got our food it all looked great until it wasn't and I found a long black hair (I've got dirty blonde hair) in my food after I took a bite. The waiter was very kind about it and they remade the food but then the eggs were super runny. He ended up not charging me for the food, which was nice, but once a hair is in your food, it sorta ruins your appetite. It was a cute place and it's honestly a tossup if I'd ever go back. read more

Although I'd never come to a suburban / strip-mall café expecting a lights-out culinary experience, I've also never come to a café like this without being prepared to be underwhelmed on all of the above factors (i.e., menu, food, service, price). We are always down to try new brunch spots so decided to come by here especially since Yelp review was 4.5stars. It was not worth the hype. We came in a group of 4+1 child on a Saturday morning at 9:30am. We were very surprised to see so many people waiting -- but only had to wait about 10 minutes. When we were brought to our seat, the server had forgotten about the high chair we had asked for but quickly brought it out. Menu looked promising-- the prices did not look bad. Food portion sizes, however, reflected those prices. The food was not served hot. (My eggs actually came out cold). The decoration and appeal were also not that exciting. Brunch food is always exciting for the vibrant colors, experimental styles and taste.... But that was unfortunately not the case. Ambience: lot of families -- from young to old. It was nice to see so many locals. Service: our waitress seemed to constantly be in a rush moving from one place to another but she was friendly... too friendly? She came to check in on us every 4-6 minutes . (We even joked that we did not even have a Chance to take more than 1 bite). Then, when we were not even halfway done, the waitress plopped the check in front of us. Even as some people in our group were finishing up while others weren't, the waitress and the manager (?) would come by and take plates from our table. (One in which we were not finished). I can see how people are seated quickly now and why the waitress was checking in so frequently (?) is this an in and out kind of place? In general everyone was friendly but the rushed vibe/mediocre food was not worth a 4.5 star rating which was initially "advertised" as. Used to be awesome. Service is sub par under new management. I absolutely love the food here and the selection, and the staff is always friendly. However, I walked in today and sat at the bar and I wasn't even greeted for more than 10 or 15 minutes. That's unacceptable in the service industry. I wasn't even offered a coffee at a coffee shop while I waited... No one even said "hello will be with you shortly," which would've been fine to indicate they saw me but were busy with other customers. The service is also gotten slower in recent months. I think the new manager (Jenifer?) needs to step up her game. I miss the previous manager, Robin. She was good. I went down the street to Uptown Cafe and was served immediately. read more
