Poor service. Showed up a little after 9am on a Friday. Not crowded. Seated with our menus. A couple came in, then another. They each waited almost 5 mins to be recognized, then seated. Meanwhile, we perused the menu and decided on our meals. Waiting on our server. She came into the dining area, handed one of the newly seated couples their menus, and took their drink order. We watched, expecting her to come to us next. Nope. She went to take care of their drink order. We voted with our wallet and promptly departed Uptown Cafe. No cheers! RS

Chorizo Skillet with over easy eggs

VERY GOOD. I had the Chorizo Skillet with jalapeños added. It was very good. My over-easy eggs were cooked perfectly, and the biscuit was crisp on the outside, light and fluffy on the inside. I sat at the front counter, and my server was great. The atmosphere is "neighborhood diner" with a cozy ambiance.

Food is very good; their coffee is great. Busy on Sundays. Never had a bad experience here. Recommended

I come to this restaurant often and I always get the same order. The up at 5, it comes with eggs your way ( I always do scrambled with cheese), bacon , 2 link sausage, 2 slices of French toast and silver dollar pancakes. I will sometimes get their grits , which are stone ground and usually yummy! Today I had water and coffee but I often get their orange juice which is fresh squeezed! This is a large meal and never disappoints. Today was no exception! Always great service!

A homey interior and feel with generous portions at a price to keep your wallet happy. I had chocolate chip pancakes with scrambled eggs and bacon. The pancakes are fluffy and HUGE. They did crumble and fall apart but could be easily scooped back up with some syrup! The bacon was oven-baked which gave it the perfect melt in your mouth texture that I personally love. Our waitress was nice and attentive. Made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us in a timely manner. I recommend trying them out if you're in the area!

My husband and I like to go out to breakfast occasionally. He is an awesome cook who typically makes breakfast each weekend, so our expectations are high when we go out. :). I had a combo plate - wow, lots of yummy items - eggs, pancakes, french toast and mmmmm BACON! I believe my hubby had some sort of corned beef hash. He really liked it! The waitress was friendly snd attentive. I can't believe we've never been here before (as we thought we'd been to every breakfast joint in the surrounding area near home), i am glad he found this location. We would definitely come back!

Was in search for a restaurant we haven't tried for breakfast before and found Uptown Cafe on Yelp. We arrived just before noon on a Sunday. The place was busy and packed. We were greeted immediately and gave them our name. We didn't wait long before they seated us. The restaurant is divided into three different spaces. We were seated in the space farthest from the entrance. I believe it's their overflow seating area as well as private party seating. The restaurant and its restroom were both clean. We ordered the following: Up at Five $9.19 3-2-1 Breakfast $7.49 Monterrey Omelet $9.69 Coffee (2) $2.89 I ordered the Up at Five and came with two X-large eggs any style, one slice of French toast, five silver dollar pancakes, two all natural applewood smoked bacon strips, and two sausage links. What more could you want?? Everything came out fresh and as described. There was so much food in one plate, I couldn't finish it all. My son ordered the 3-2-1 Breakfast. It came with three X-large eggs cooked to order, hash browns, stone ground grits and choice of toast or biscuit. He ate every bit of his breakfast and said it was delicious. The hubs got the monterrey omelet which came with spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and goat cheese. He thoroughly enjoyed his omelet. The coffee was good. We received excellent service from our waiter. He was friendly and attentive. Breakfast was inexpensive and portions were generous. Great spot, overall!

The space itself is a great size with plenty of seating both inside and out. The covered patio is key - you get the outdoor energy without the sun beaming down on you the entire meal. I went with the lamb chops served over garlic mashed potatoes, paired with the crispy sweet chili brussel sprouts and creamy mac and cheese. Every single thing hit. The lamb was tender, well-seasoned, and sat on top of some of the smoothest, most flavorful mashed potatoes I've had in a minute. The brussel sprouts actually stayed crispy, and the mac and cheese was rich and creamy. On top of that, the portions are serious - you're definitely getting your money's worth. For dessert, I tried the red velvet cheesecake. It turned out to be an actual slice of cheesecake sandwiched directly between two slices of red velvet cake. A little wild, but ridiculous in the best way possible. Great vibes, top-tier food, and generous portions. Just make sure you don't have major plans afterward, because a food coma is guaranteed.

There were people waiting outside so we thought there was a wait, but there was not. The decor is very modern and clean. We got a nice booth in the corner of the left side dining area and our friendly server was with us quickly. There were so many good options on the menu including a steak skillet, but had typos as they used ChatGPT to make it...lol. Can't trust AI y'all! They also do not allow modifications. I ended up getting the Chef's Southern Catch, which was the fish sandwich. The food came out in about 15 minutes. The Creole remoulade was amazing and I actually never asked what kind of fish it was, but it was light and flaky, maybe a cod. The brioche roll was soft and the fries were amazing as well. I do not typically like slaw, but it came on the sandwich and wasn't bad. We got refills on our drinks, to-go cups, and were on our way.

Last time we were there (ages ago), I had one of the best cosmos I've ever had. Bartenders name was Eric. My husband laughed that I would remember and I told him a girl always remembers a bartender that can make a perfect Cosmo. The repeat purchase did not disappoint. He's still got it. Because we were there for the game, we ordered several appetizers that allowed us to graze and drag out our time there. Usually restaurants (servers) hate when you do that because they can't flip the table, but we never felt rushed and were sure to tip accordingly. Finished the night with a little chocolate dessert. The steak and asparagus were cooked well, and the sweet potato fries were tasty, though a little too sweet -- they really don't need extra sugar. The mashed potatoes had good flavor but could've been a bit creamier. The martinis were good. The water had a strange taste, the Sprite tasted more like 7UP, and the glassware was a bit sticky, which was noticeable. Overall, good food, friendly service, and a comfortable atmosphere. They needed to clean the booth, so we waited, but when we were taken to our seats, one side of the booth still had cocktail stirrers on the seat. (Likely 4 smaller people would have been able to squeeze into that booth, but knowing we had 3 larger adults in our party of 5, I asked if we could move to a table.) Moving to the open table required a manager's override. Very thankfully, a waiter asked if we'd been helped, when he noticed us standing near the hostess stand, and explained that a manager needed to make the change to a table with chairs. (The hostess did not explain that to us.) The waitress at our table was polite to us and provided excellent service, but it was clear she was trying to rush us along. I ordered the almond encrusted trout, which was okay, but the mashed sweet potatoes were served cold. (Maybe it was wrong of me to assume they would be served warm, as I have had sweet potato salad at a Korean restaurant that was served cold, but seeing that my husband's mashed potatoes were steaming hot, it was another disappointment.). When we told them that we were there for my husband's birthday, they did comp us the cost of a dessert and put a lit candle in the desert for us. However, the overall experience and food were just okay, not great, as we had hoped.
