So far so good! My husband and I were actually thinking of going with another pest control company but a friendly young Sage employee came to my door and offered us a good deal so we went with them. Yes, they do make you sign a contact but you're given all the info up front about cancellation fees, quarterly charges, etc. we're currently renting anyways so the year of applications will work out perfectly! The technician who came to treat/spray was super quick. In some instances, I thought he could have spent a little more time spraying ALL nooks and crannies. I know we have a lot of stuff in our garage right now but I highly doubt he covered much area bc he was in and out so fast. (Due to spiders, I would have liked a little more coverage). And I thought the sales guy said they would spray in the cabinets under the sinks and I don't recall seeing him do that. I have only seen like, one ant and maybe 2 spiders inside since the initial spray. (I f-ing HATE spiders!) I like that the treatment works on all types of insects. I also like that they treat your YARD... where all these critters live. I have also been paranoid about ticks. Like I said, so far so good! read more

Sage pest control sent me an unsolicited package containing a sticker and a trucker hat, and the trucker hat was CRAWLING with springtails or something. This pest control company literally sent me a bug infested item that I unknowingly brought into my home. Not only did they send me a bug problem, it's currently outside reproducing for 5 days until the next garbage collection. Great marketing. read more

These folks are crooks. They came door to door and duped my 80 year old mother into a contract that she wasn't even legally able to sign, because the house is not hers. They are very nice, and suck you into a contract with an exorbitant monthly cost, an even higher sign-on fee and an early contract cancel fee of about 4 months' worth of service. These guys are predators. Please DO NOT answer the door for these vampires. read more

What a very kind gesture. Such respect. Unfortunately we are using a close friend for our bug service. But if we have to change, I am definitely going with Sage. We signed up for new service. The person that they sent spent 20 minutes in the driveway and 10 minutes getting instructions and papers signed. He was done in 3 minutes under the house and 10 minutes around the parameter of the house. Not possible! Never went to the guest house in the back which is 20x18. Did not do any soffits or windows as agreed . Total rip-off! read more

Have had 3 technicians come out to take care of cockroach problem, issue still not resolved. Have baby cockroaches in the upstairs bedroom, seeing live ones daily. First technician did not even look around inside, just put down bait traps in the room, were not effective. I provided him with a live roach that I caught and he said nothing. Second technician came out, I had to beg him to come inside and look around (as he was not even planning on coming inside, just wanted to spray the outside), there was a live cockroach in the bathroom, he didn't even look around and just shrugged and said he didn't know where they were coming from and sprayed the pesticide. THIRD technician came out, was so flustered that 2 other techs came before him that he could barely do his job. Called his manager for assistance and asked for a more senior tech to come out, the manager said "just tell them it takes time to be effective". Yet it has been a month, 2 techs have come out and there are still LIVE baby roaches seen every single day. Third tech sprayed more pesticide, I asked about bait traps and he said "he didn't have any in this truck" who goes to service a house without any bait traps...? seems like all this company does is spray pesticide everywhere and hope it takes care of the problem. Every tech has said they have "no idea where the roaches are coming from" without even looking. Isn't that the main part of your job?! Also, each time a new tech comes out, they say that the previous tech is no longer with the company, so clearly have a high turnover rate. And, every tech has said "I wouldn't want this pesticide sprayed inside my house, it's toxic". Yet they proceed to spray it inside and advertise that it is safe for pets and humans. read more

Unfortunately while the service provided an adequate first visit, I was forced to cancel after their technician spilled leaking chemicals all over my kitchen and living room. He then left without cleaning it up, causing a major hazard to my pets. The service was unsatisfactory throughout. Now, the company is attempting to charge me for additional services not rendered. This company also solicits in no soliciting neighborhoods. I would strongly recommend against them. read more

I had decided several years ago to not sign another pest control contract, but decided to give it a try when the sales person came by claiming they would only need to come every 2 months for applications since their product was much more effective. Big mistake! Their product sucks and is not effective. I had to call them back a couple times for re-applications and they would try to schedule this re-application when it was convenient for them. We still had issues with spiders, roaches, etc. I highly recommend saving a bunch of money and getting a good pest control product from your local hardware store (i.e. ACE, Hudson Hardware, etc.) and applying it yourself. I have found these products to be much more effective. I have also noticed the SAGE technicians are not very thorough at brushing away spider webs from the eaves of our house. Even after asking them to do it. This company let a bad taste in my mouth and I will not use them (or anyone else) again! read more

I am surprised at the other reviews, not the experience I have had at all. Maybe my pest problems and expectations are different. In any event, I am happy with their services and their techs. They have done exactly what I needed and when an unexpected pest showed up they were prompt in taking care of it at no additional cost. I have not had any problems with any of the techs and in fact have been impressed with one in particular. Mr. Doug Vondervort has treated my home twice now and was great both times. We have been a client of Sage for over 2 years and have been very happy with their customer service. We have never had a problem. When we have called with an issue they have responded promptly. They were able to get rid of an ant problem we had tried two different pest control companies and on our own. We have moved to an older neighborhood now with different challenges so we shall see how it goest but I have been impressed up until now. read more

More of the same of what other reviewers have here. I was happy with them for the first year and didn't have any issues so I renewed my contract. However, they were very deceiving how they wrote the contract. They marked off quarterly treatments however, they wrote in "11 remaining services" so that locked me into a 3 YEAR CONTRACT! Very shady! This came to light because after several retreats and still seeing ants, roaches and spiders, we wanted to go back to Smith Exterminating. We used for them for 18 years with no issues and no shady multi year contracts. Now I am having to pay $120 to get out of this contract. SHADY! UPDATE: I received a call from Nick who really wanted to better understand what went wrong. He graciously explained the company has done away with 3 year contracts and refunded my cancellation fee. I appreciate that as well as the fact that he tried to reach out to me several times to address my concerns. read more

I have used other post control companies in the past and never had the problems I had with Sage. They didn't come back or follow up once we told them we were having a TERRIBLE ant problem inside my home after they sprayed one time! I spent 4 months spraying and cleaning up ants in my home with no help from them. I canceled the service after my "free trial" because they ruined my home and my lawn was full of bugs, ants, and voles once they came! They sent me a $110 bill for cancelling! I used a FREE trial service and that's what I got, a headache for 4 months and my yard is still horrible! I should be paid for the mess I had to deal with. I will NEVER recommend such a horrible pest control company to anyone! read more

We changed to Sage Pest Control primarily due to cost. Buyer BEWARE...if you sign up with this company and have to cancel before the required number of visits, you're on the hook for a cancellation charge. We are moving and because we did not meet the 5 visit requirement, they are charging us a penalty, even though we are moving out of state, not simply cancelling to change companies. We found their services to be average at best. We wish we never changed to this company. You truly do get what you pay for. We would never recommend this company. read more

I changed from one pest control company to Sage about a year ago. This change was merely a financial change as they were lower in cost. The individual that serviced my account was very courteous and the pest application was "almost as good" as my previous supplier. I decided the first of the year to change back to my other supplier due to the fact that we were experiencing MORE MOSQUITOES with their service. When I cancelled my service, they continued to bill me. I called and did not get a good resolution. DUE TO THE ETHICS OF THIS SUPPLIER, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THEM!! read more

I've had three of the five treatments I'm to which I've contracted. I have seen a decrease in insects, but that's not hard, as I had no extermination service before. However, the techs apparently forgot to do my specially-priced termite inspection at the second visit. Also, they have done nothing to clean up the wasp nests that I showed them, nor have they been effective against mice. All in all, I don't feel that I've gotten the services that I signed up for. I'll be looking for another provider once my contract is satisfied. read more

Sage was the only company in the area that I contacted that would guarantee their service against millipedes. We started with them last year when we had a huge millipede problem and found over 20 in the house each morning, and I could go out in my driveway and kill hundreds with a blowtorch. But since Sage has started their service we have only had the occasional bug in the house - most we find are dead. And they are quick to come and re-treat the house whenever we want. We signed up despite the pushy sales tactic and I am glad we did. read more

What a sleazy outfit. Salesman comes to my door and says he's "talking to my neighbors about the pest problem in this neighborhood". I tell him I'm already using another service and that I'm happy with it. He asks me who and I tell him Bulwark. He then goes on to say that some of my neighbors who use Bulwark find spiders and other insects after Bulwart treatments and asks if I do too. I tell him no and that I'm happy with their service. He then gets pushy and I have to close the door on him to get him to shut up. Even if I wan't very happy with Bulwark (but I am) I would never go with a company that denigrates and bad-mouths the competition. I also know that he is lying because we are the only Bulwak customers on our cul-de-sac. Stay away from these dishonest "agents"; they'll say anything to get your business. No wonder they have a "D+" BBB rating (I checked). read more

Typical Bait $ Switch! Promised three months for $99. I paid that willingly. 6 weeks later, the tech comes out to do outside work. I am subsequently billed an additional $90. When I asked why, I was told "We feel that it's best to come out again and spray because eggs are immune to the pest control we use." I didn't authorize that, and was told that if I wanted to cancel my contract, I'd be charged an additional $110 because of the discount I received on the initial service. They will not get any more of my money and you shouldn't give them any to begin with. Received the reply to my post on 10/21/15. While all of the rhetoric sounds good, I am asking your company to cancel my contract, as I am far from satisfied. I have sent a check for the second service at $90. I'm done with Sage and their way of doing business. I have asked to be let out of the contract, but despite paying for the initial services that covers three months and sending a check for the extra visit, they claim they can let you out of a contract for any reason and tack on $110 for the discount received during the initial setup. Since I won't allow them a return visit, I consider us even. read more

We have had a contract with Sage for quite some time. It seems like when the heavy spring rains come we get ants in our kitchen. Since having Sage come quarterly for a few years we've had the one or two solider ants scouting for food and water but no more than that. We have a dog so the ants could be hitching a ride in also. The techs who come out know my neighborhood and remember my home and that we have a dog and even close the 6ft privacy gate behind then when they leave! Excellent service! read more

We were also convinced by a door-to-door salesman that we should give them a try. Our bad. We listened. The service we've received is not just "meh", but poor. The eaves are not swept and there were spider webs across all of our windows after EVERY visit. In addition, we got a note "there is a snake in your yard"...with no indication of where/type/when and they didnt remove it. It turned out to be a garter snake that my husband removed. BIG DEAL when I have little kids who run out into our yard. read more
