When asked for a pretreatment bc 31 days after treatment we were still having issues, we were told that since it was our month for treatment aka 4 weeks from now they would move our treatment up. I was told that the product should last 90 days but they service about every 60. We have had to ask for a retreatment about 3-4 times in 2.5 years. And everytime they say it's not a retreatment bc we were due that month. Not next week not two weeks but 4 weeks later. I am going back to a company that doesn't try to take advantage of their customers. read more

I've been a long time customer, since mid-2006 with the initial pest service. The pricing on the service is consistently increasing, and when it got to the point where it was not competitive anymore, I called and asked for a break on the pricing. They did give me a break but only because they have a relationship with my employer. I recently learned they cut their visits in half for their termite service some time ago, but in the meantime, while they are saving money on labor costs by not sending anyone out to monitor their stations each quarter, their pricing is still going up. Had I not recently installed security cams around the house, I would never have known they weren't showing up every quarter anymore to ask them about it when I received a bill. Time to end the entire relationship. Thankfully, I've already moved on. read more

I tried to get HomeTeam Pest Defense to come to my house for a single application of pest control. I was told that I needed to sign a contract that obligated me to further treatments every 3 months whether or not I had a problem. I declined those provisions but offered my consent to do the applications on an "as needed" bases. An appointment was made, but less than an hour before the technician was scheduled to arrive, the sales agent sent a text saying the technician would not be coming out without the signed contract. I believe this practice is a scam to keep people paying for services they may not need and with no end in sight. read more

Dishonest company! We have been with this company since 2019. They used to set traps and come to check their traps twice a year. After late Spring this year, then they never show up again. By the end of year, we contacted them to ask when they will come for the second check for this year. Guess what? They said, "they switched twice check a year to just an ANNUAL check, i.e. only come service ONCE a year, and what we paid is only for warranty which will cover any damage caused by termites." We still got charged every month till now, however they didn't communicate with us about this change, and we didn't agree with that either. They never admit themselves having any mistakes that they changed service without the customer's consent. They raised the service charge fee and also reduced check frequency in 2023. It is time to end of relationship with this company. Hope other people won't be fooled by this company. read more

I have been a loyal customer for 6 years of not only the termite warranty, but quarterly pest control. They lost all my business today. My wife and I decided this year that we were just going to let the termite warranty expire, as price has went up every year and was well over $400. We always paid annually, so when renewal came saying termite warranty was expiring I just let it go. I got an email this week stating I owed $68 as now they were charging me month to month. Keep in mind it is nothing they do other than come out once a year and set a trap. When they insisted I pay the $68 I paid, but told them that since their business ethics took this path that I was just cancelling the quarterly pest service as well. Loyalty, and good payment history meant nothing. It is a shame that they are willing to lose business like this. read more

Based on the track record of my neighbors with their termite traps, I decided to not pay their ridiculous premium past the initial year. They informed me that they'd be coming onto my property to remove the termite traps. Seeing that this was nothing but a psychological tactic, I advised them to not set foot on my property (in writing). They still insisted that they must remove their termite stations/traps. And did I mention that their representatives were EXTREMELY rude and hostile during this entire process? One of them even became downright hostile over the phone saying they have the right to remove their property from my land. This exchange continued for weeks. It was ridiculous. I researched legal cases on LexisNexis... I finally agreed to let them come and remove their termite traps but I also notified them that they'd also need to remove their Taexx system from my entire house as this was the same game they were playing. I notified them that it would cost around $320,000.00 to have the system removed due to them being in pretty much every exterior wall and that the entire exterior would have to essentially be torn down and rebuilt. I asked them when they'd be interested in making a 50% deposit so that my general contractor could get started. I never heard from them ever again. The junk mail and the annoying door hanger ads even stopped! read more

I'm taking this time to thank HomeTeam Pest Defense. In 2015, we started using them for Termite monitoring. They set bait traps around the perimeter of our house and monitored them twice a year. Along with the monitor stations comes a warranty covering any damage that may be caused by termites. I know that the monitoring stations will only do so much to deter termites, and there is no guaranty you will never have them. What's important is, what happens if & when you do see active termites. HomeTeam Pest Defense truly stood behind their commitment. We discovered termites coming through the surface of our hardwood floor boards. I called HomeTeam and spoke to Jordan. He scheduled us for the next available appointment, the following week. He and his crew came and did an inspection. They spent two and a half days trenching and treating around the house inside and outside of the crawlspace. They drilled through the concrete slab on the porch to get treatment closer to the infected area. I have been known to be a bit OCD and was concerned about the drilling. Their work was so neat, clean and precise that I couldn't see the patches in the concrete, and I know where they drilled. GID Flooring was hired to remove and replace whatever flooring needed to be replaced. When completed you would never know there are new boards installed. Their work was perfect. So far service is crap, and they haven't even come out yet. We signed a contract for service since they are the only ones who can service our tube system, and set a date for the appointment, they called the Monday of the appointment and said they couldn't make it out that day, and would Friday work. We said fine, and now it's Friday, and no service tech has come out, and no one has called. Worst service I've had since moving to North Carolina. read more

The person who comes out to service my home is actually friendly and knowledgeable but comes unannounced. The customer service that you speak to on the phone are discourteous and unprofessional. They have sent multiple bills while I have a zero balance. I have called three times to clear it up but am told "it's coming from corporate"! Before doing any spraying, Jason, who is also the Raleigh location manager, thoroughly inspected the exterior and brushed away any cobwebs. He sprayed around windows and the foundation. I have been a customer of these guys for about 12 years and up until now never really had any complaints. Few months ago I started having issues with little sugar ants and found it very difficult trying to contact these folks, many voicemails, calling different offices and now I still have ant issues and no one will return my call. they were extremely friendly when they first come to get our business and totally different once they had our money. we had their service at our new home. Initially they did good service than after first quarter they started showing tier true colors. when we signed the service agreement, they person we get service from from we will get discount of 5% on all our payment and at the time of payment they disagree and refuse to give us 5% off. to their Costumer services assistant was extremly rude over the call when I was talking to her explaning our payment problem.she was not ready to listen what ever I was saying at all nd SHE HUNG UP THE CALL WHEN I WAS STILL TALKING TO HER. Its very easy to judge a company when they treat their customer like this when they need their help. This is one of the worst customer service experience you may have.
