I am rather disappointed in the inconsistent service I have received from this Orkin branch, and their inability to make me feel confident in the services I am paying for. To preface, I requested service from Orkin because my previous pest control provider didn't handle carpenter bees. After searching around, this branch seemed to be the only company willing to take care of them, and this was supposed to include the second story of my house. While inquiring for this service, I checked the Orkin website and even called customer support. For one, I was assured the second story would be no problem. They also verified that the service would include a dust insecticide followed by sealing the bore holes, which I read was the best method on their site here: https://www.orkin.com/pests/stinging-pests/bees/carpenter-bees. After the initial inspection, I was told that carpenter bee treatment requires a 7 month treatment plan, and for "my benefit", this would include all their other basic pest control as well. I'm not sure how dusting and sealing holes takes 7 months, but I didn't have many options considering no other company would handle the second story. When the first technician arrived, he did not do the dusting, but rather sprayed a liquid insecticide. I asked if they were planning to seal the holes, as that was the reason I agreed to use them for the service, and he told me they do not do this after he called his manager. Frustrated, I told myself, "whatever, so long as they get rid of the bees, I'll deal with it." A week later, the bees were back. I called to schedule a follow up service. I reminded them I needed the second story serviced, and they assured me again this was no problem. The technician arrived but immediately cancelled because he didn't have a ladder. I was told they would reschedule with someone who had a ladder, but this never occurred. Fast forward a month to my next regular scheduled service, and after checking my camera, they again failed to service the second story, and the bees persisted. They also failed to check or ask about the mouse traps that the first technician set when he was here for the initial service, and when I called to ask about this, they told me to do it myself if I didn't want to wait until my next service. Needles to say, I have no faith that my home is being properly treated, and it is especially frustrating because I'm paying extra for the bee service. I have left messages with their office and have not heard anything in months from them. I hope they can do something to make this right, and correct the information they are giving people. read more

I have had a stellar experience with Orkin from my ongoing pest services and the encapsulation of my crawl space. I've been very happy with the results, service, professionalism and communication. read more

If you use Orkin, make sure you're there when the work is done. I was there and found numerous quality shortcuts, so much so that they had to come back the next day to correct them. That's two days of my time. If I hadn't been there, the shortcomings would have been covered up and undiscovered to this day. Also, do not let them sign you up for financing if you don't need it. It's unnecessarily complex and cost me a lot of time trying to untangle the mess their finance people created due to their incompetence. read more

0 stars! I called the Orkin 800 number on the day before the Labor Day weekend (2025). I asked if they can take care of the big vole problem in my yard near the Raleigh NC area. After giving info, they said they could send someone between 10am and 12pm on Tuesday. Although worried the voles won't quit eating my plant roots in the meantime, I understood about the holiday. I took the appointment. On that Tuesday, nobody called (said they would call a 1/2 hour before coming), and nobody showed up at all!!!!!! When I called again, they said they would have the local branch call me. I asked how long before I could expect their call, and she said it'll take 24-48 hours. 2 days later, and I never heard back from them. Don't waste your time with this clown operation that couldn't care less about their (potential) customers. read more

They used to provide good service, but in recent years, have pushed hard sell to do expensive crawlspace encapsulation, came out at random times without an appointment and provided poor customer service. We got a second opinion from another company who said our crawlspace was dry and we did not need the encapsulation read more

As part of the pest control I received a termite inspection as well. The guy came out and said to me, a female, there were no termites but found signs of fungus in the crawl space. I asked to see the photos and cost to remove it and he asked if there "is another decision maker in the house he should also be speaking to". Are you kidding me?? I know how to make a decision. Apparently they don't think we are capable still in 2021 to be spoken to. Ladies take your business elsewhere!! read more

Prompt, knowledgable, great service. Advised of areas which needed treatment. Will use again.

First of all they are very unorganized and unprofessional. I cancelled a December service to my home due to finances. Spoke with manager in Raleigh location and was assured they will not charge and just do outside because of winter time. A few wks later received a bill for $82. They tell you they don't charge until you complete the service meaning inside/outside. Haven't had inside service for months. Rescheduled for January and had to cancel due to household on quarantine with Covid. They never cancelled appointment received text this morning saying tech was on the way. Had to call yet again and speak with unprofessional people, was cut off several times by Tamika Malloy trying explain I needed to pay before someone comes out when I reschedule. Kept explaining to her no one finished the service back in December no one has been in my home for months. Very unprofessional bunch over in that office read more

This is my preferred pest control service in the area. Danny provides great on time service and answers whatever questions I have. Scheduling was been hassle free, and seeing as the critters are gone, I can say the work has been effective. read more

Hired Orkin to install plastic in my crawlspace. They told me I also needed to have my floor joists treated for mold spores. Following completion of the job I went under and found several places where the mold was not addressed. I told them and was advised that it would fade over time. I have attempted to contacted them 5 times since and have not received a response. read more

Customer service and responsiveness is horrible. I called with a simple question last week, was on the phone for 10-15 mins with various people who assured me someone would call me back. As of Tuesday or so with no call back, I left a message on the corporate page requesting the origination fee back to secure a reliable provider which resulted in a call back finally. I was told that the yearly inspection is a courtesy and I don't pay for. I stressed that their presentation of a yearly inspection is part of the package they sell, so if I am not receiving it, they are deceptive. So now because the service manager is in training out of state until next week, this situation rolls over in to week 2 with no resolution. Once again there is no consideration for my time. If I could get back the origination fee for the termite plan I would go somewhere else because I can not trust what is being said and then information is presented as if I'm an ignorant and can't tel if someone physically came inside my home. read more

If you are no good with "fast talkers" then NEVER let these people into your home! After closing and moving into our new home, we noticed there were palmetto bugs and called to have them addressed. I was shocked that they no longer treat along baseboards (which is generally the area most insects like to hide behind) All they did was treat window ledges and door openings (this was back in November, I still have palmetto bugs, it is January). Then told me I had mould spores on my floor joists in the crawl space. I agreed to get those treated and get a moisture control system in our crawl space. The guy came back like 3 weeks after job was completed to "inspect" and showed me pictures of floor joists that appeared to be brand new wood.. I am not an idiot, no mould remediation would give old floor joists from the 50's a brand new lumber appearance! I am in the process of finding an attorney and going to file a suit for false and deceptive practices. Oh and BTW their customer service is THEE WORST I have ever encountered! Those people in Atlanta have attitudes like I've never encountered before! read more

Orkin has performed mosquito yard treatments for my home for years. They have done an excellent job and are very good at communicating to schedule the service each month. They also treat my house for Termites. I have had no problems and I would recommend this company to everybody. Thank you Orkin for great service!! read more

If I could give zero stars I would! First after we booked with "national" through the toll free number for full service, the local store called and said they can't come out as promised cause "national" overbooked them and they cannot provide the service Orkin "national" promised for the charge. And it was downhill from there. They charged $160 and a guy came out while I was away. We had a mouse in the house and wanted to have a professional pest control check it out and take care of the problem. The guy who came checked the house and the attic as well as the crawl space. Told my wife there was no indication of mice as she was pointing out mouse droppings to him. He said there was no indication of mice in the crawl space. When I checked the crawl space after I returned from the trip I saw a lot of mouse droppings in the crawl space so he clearly either doesn't know what he was doing or didn't actually check. There were promises of follow updates and rechecks. NOTHING happened. My wife called finally a week later and requested a refund. If we do not get it I will go to small claims court I am this upset with them. This was the worst service experience I have had in decades. If you ask me I'd recommend to stay away from Orkin in and around Raleigh, NC read more

Well...Where to start. First I will say that my sister turned me onto Orkin because she had such good service. I contracted them at the start of the year. I will say That when Patrick came out I felt like there was some service but good luck getting the same person to come as well as getting rid of your bugs. I even had one young guy come in and spent about 3 minutes time with an AEROSOL CAN????? I could have done that with a raid can and believe me you are better off doing so. It seems the lackluster pay trickles down to the service end and don't bother calling to complain; It won't do any good. If you don't call them on a consistent basis it could be months before you see them. I have worked for Pest control companies before and this is by far the worst service with the worst results I have ever seen. read more

We've been using Orkin for a few years now, and our Bugman has been great! Zach has always made our experiences professional, informative, and prompt. We have always enjoyed the personal and thoroughness all our services have been. Even when we had a last minute BBQ party, Zach came out to our house immediately to treat for mosquitos. Wonderful BBQ, and wonderful customer service! read more

Weeks after my cancellation I received an email from this Orkin office requesting my feedback as to why I cancelled my service and what they could do differently. From the very beginning, nothing went right. I put in a request online for service and after 2 weeks of hearing nothing we finally called only to be told that somehow our request was missed. We scheduled our first service at a discounted rate because of having to wait so long to hear anything. Chris came out and did his inspection, did the initial treatment, explained everything very clearly and did an excellent job - when he left I was rather pleased. On the paperwork that was given to me, Chris wrote that he would be back in 2 weeks for a follow-up treatment. 2 weeks came and went, 3 weeks came a went. At this point I started to see bugs in my home once again but figured I had misinterpreted what was communicated and continued to wait. After 4 weeks of waiting, I put in another request for service online because I could not get ahold of anyone or even leave a message since the mailbox was full at my local office. I received a call from your corporate call center to schedule my initial service again, I asked if this was because of the request entered online or if this was part of my existing contract, I was transferred no less than 5 times before eventually being told that my contracted service should have been here that day and they were surprised I did not hear anything from my service person, Chris. I was informed that Chris was out of the office on PTO but usually he would have reached out to me to reschedule. The point is, nothing was ever scheduled. It was communicated at the initial service that he would be back in 2 weeks. After some discussion with the woman on the phone at the local office and after trying to give her my 30 day notice due to my frustration she assured me that I should speak with Keith, their customer service manager. After speaking with Keith and explaining my situation and frustration he offered me 50% of my future treatments, scheduled a service for later that week and thoroughly apologized for not showing me that they value my business. We scheduled service for a Thursday between 8-10am. At 5 after 10, I called the local office and requested to speak with Keith considering Chris was a no call/no show, I was told Keith was out on a ride along but she would relay the message for me and he would be in contact. At around 10:30am, Chris called and left me a message basically explaining that he was completely unaware that I had service scheduled for today and asked when we could reschedule. At this point, my obvious frustration led me to call your corporate office and cancel my service effective immediately much to the embarrassment of the staff member I spoke with. In the days after cancelling, I heard from Chris several times explaining his side of things and apologizing profusely. Chris repeatedly asked what he could do to repair our relationship and genuinely seemed to care about the situation. I will make this plain as day for whoever is reading this, this failure has NOTHING to do with Chris. If I could work with Chris separate from Orkin, I absolutely would. With all the communication that I was having with Chris, I never once received a call, text, email, courier pigeon or smoke signal from Keith - the supposed customer service manager. Days later I did speak with Bobby and explained my situation and frustration in great detail only to be told that Keith had been out of the office - honestly, I do not care at this point because this whole experience has been a nightmare and I still have bugs. Luckily someone somewhere processed a refund for the initial service preventing an already bad situation from getting worse. So plain and simple, I will not ever recommend Orkin to anyone, friend or foe based wholly on this horrendous customer experience and complete failure on the part of the local office's management and scheduling team. Again, just to reiterate, my cancellation and frustration has nothing to do with Chris and the care and service he provided to me. read more
