One of my girlfriends and I came here for brunch after we loved trying their dinner over the summer. Wow we were so impressed! Their cocktail menu is great but the brunch menu was extensive with so many options. We were both really interested in trying their sage cheddar biscuits. So happy we got them because they were delicious. I liked it so much, I ordered the biscuit sandwich for my entree. I got a side of their cream of mushroom soup with a drizzle of truffle oil. Probably the best mushroom soup I've ever had. The server we had was so friendly. She recommended so many good dishes and cocktails and when we wanted more of something she was accommodating. We got to sit on the patio which was so beautiful. It's shaded well but has just enough sunshine if you're chilly. You gotta try this spot. Brunch, lunch or dinner you're in for a treat! To
Such a beautiful restaurant! I loved the polenta and the strawberry and beet salad! Sit in the garden if you can.
This was my first time at the Sage Leaf. Four of us went here on a Sunday evening. We had reservations so we were promptly seated. It was a nice evening so we sat outside on the patio. I peeked a little bit at the inside it looks very nice too. Pedro was our server. We asked several questions about items on the menu and he was completely dialed in on his answers. He knew each dish very well. I will say the menu is somewhat small and a little eclectic. We started with an order of the biscuits. Everyone loved them. They were tender and flaky and warm and tasted delicious. I had the salmon for dinner. It was also very good. It came on a bed of mashed potatoes and was served atop some mini peppers. There was also a sauce on the outside of the plate. It was very tasty. I had a sundae for dessert, which was also very good. The rest of the table split some of the donut holes, which they liked. The only negative was the music. I felt like I was at a club. To the point where it was as if the records were being played backward to get that scratchy sound. Now granted, I am a "mature" customer so it just didn't work for me. I think smooth jazz would have been better. I will definitely return.
Back to one of my favorite local restaurants-this time for Happy Hour. We've loved brunch and dinner there and Happy Hour was just as good. We had the tuna tartare and ranch burger. The burgers here are delicious and the tuna was fresh and beautifully prepared. We added the sage biscuits (of course!) and the shrimp skewers and had a wonderful wine to go with it-love their wine list!
Pro's: Beautifully done interior and lovely outdoor patio with flowers and other foliage, hanging lights...lovely. Con's: Where's the duck? (see below) Go back?: Likely More... Great happy hour special on wines by the glass...$5 off before five. Arrived at 4:15PM for an early dinner with a friend. This was really nice as there was plenty of parking, even right in front, at that time. (Think happy hour/apps?). We shared the truffle fries and yellowfin tuna poke. Both were excellent. I ordered the duck confit with pasta. Quick aside...my rule of thumb for dining out these days is that I am going to order something I am unlikely to make at home. With that, I went for the duck...one of my favorite dishes so a treat when I see it on the menu. However, there was only one, solid piece of duck in the whole bowl of pasta (and other veg ingredients). There were some threads/strands of meat, but only one mouthful. Bummer. I would return here as there are many other items on the menu I'd like to try and it is a lovely location.
Really used to love this place - The environment, selection, service are all great. ... but the last three times food was crazy over-salted. I think it would be fine if I remembered to tell them no salt as I ordered (which I kept forgetting). I don't have this issue anywhere else. Yes, I told them after first two times and they remade it without issue, but I'd rather not have to say it at all !
Had to check out the new spot! Server was great - 5 stars super sweet, food and drinks came quickly. Such a pretty restaurant, they have 1 in Tahoe too. Fully stocked bar - will definitely be back for happy hour. I got a lavender / limoncello/ thyme mimosa - best choice ever and favorite thing we ordered. We chose food off the brunch menu and the presentation was also great - but the food itself was just ok-tasting. Will probably try the burger next time. Place looks great, lots of wood and metal decor - my vibe!
Came here for a quick meet up with a friend. The greeter at the desk was extremely professional. The mood indoors was dim lights and perfect for dinner, however, we chose to sit in their outdoor patio surrounded by beautiful floral. We shared a few smaller plates and loved every single dish! The Burrata Cheese, Spicy Yellow Fin Tuna Tartare, and Beet/Pear Salad were all 10/10. Our server was very friendly and always refilled our water without us having to ask. Such a great spot!
Awesome to see Sage Leaf extend out into the Reno area! My boyfriend and I dined in the Lake Tahoe location before and enjoyed our experience there. A friend and I dined at this location for lunch. It's located in the heart of midtown - so parking can be a little challenging during busy hours, though there are lots of parking available around the area. The ambiance is gorgeous and there's a large amount of seating inside, outside and at the bar. Not to mention, the bathroom is also really nice. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive. My friend and I ordered the braised bacon tacos and an eggs benedict. You can tell everything was made from the freshest ingredients - the quality of their food is excellent! I recommend checking out this place whether its for lunch or dinner or with a small or big party, there's something on the menu for everyone!
I was super excited to try this spot with a friend for a girl's dinner, but honestly left a little disappointed! Parking is abysmal, but that's the Midtown experience, baby! The patio and interior are super swanky and well decorated. The hostesses were super nice and accommodating when we arrived a little early for our reservation. We started with cocktails, which sit around a $15 price point. I ordered the tequila based drink, spirit of sage. It didn't come with a straw so I really didn't taste the tequila and grapefruit until the end. My friend ordered the incline i.v. and it was DELICIOUS! The nutmeg really works in it. We split the flat iron steak bruschetta, which was yummy but difficult to eat with the super crunchy baguette and steak that you have to tear with your teeth while balancing all the toppings on it still. It did only come with 3 pieces. For entrees, I ordered the lamb burger and upgraded to duck fat fries and my friend ordered the beef short rib. My burger was good, I love a soft brioche bun and the kalamata aioli added a nice unexpected flavor. I'm not sure I tasted the appeal of the duck fat upgrade to my fries, just a lot of Old Bay seasoning. The fry aioli dip was Just Okay. With the fry upgrade, my burger added up to about $30, and I can't say it was worth it. For the short rib, we had high expectations at a $40 price. The mashed potatoes, jus, and cipollini onions were FULL of flavor and delicious! And the short rib itself...? Tasted like absolutely nothing. I'm not sure how you can braise short rib in red wine and have it taste like nothing at all except a little too much fat, but my friend and I were both confused. We split the brulee cheesecake with blueberry for dessert. As expected it was on the small side but did have a lot of flavor. The top wasn't really bruleed to have a crunch or snap, but the blueberry compote added a nice texture. Our server was also one of the bartenders, which was great until a group of his friends came in, then we kind of were left hanging. Overall, there were some nice parts, but I didn't see the price justified in how our meals turned out.
Excellent food at Sage Leaf Reno. Glad they opened a different location aside from Incline Village. We ordered the applewood smoked bacon and veggie taco set that was huge amd absolutely amazing! Also, we had to try 2 Lunch Trios-pork ban mi, watermelon heirloom tomato salad and mixed greens +pork ban mi, mixed greens, and tomato bisque. Great flavors and large portions. Nice ambiance as well. We heard that dinner is wonderful too.
Solid addition to midtown! They did a beautiful job with the remodel, it feels very upscale yet comfortable. Our waiter was so amazing too, she came in with some fabulous recommendations and took great care of us! My husband really liked his Marinated and Gilled Chicken Thighs Bowl and my Eggs Benedict had excellent flavor, although the eggs were overcooked. We split their dessert special after and it was a treat! Hope they bring it back again!
This is a very nice place. They seemed.to jave renovated and made it feel upscale. The food is delicious. If you are super hungry dont go here. This is good at portion control and does not go have carb loaded items. It gets you filled just right to take on the rest of the day They did somehow mess up our order, but corrected it and got the food ojt in a timely manner. They are sweet, but busy. We did have the manager check in as well, ut that could have been due to the order. We did not mind as it was a great atmosphere and the employees are super sweet. I will state not to get a coffee here. It was ok, but they are known more for their specialty food and drinks. We now have to come for dinner, rather than lunch.

A few friends and I went to Sage Leaf for Happy Hour. While they don't have a special cocktail menu for happy hour, they do offer $5 off their signature drinks. Only a couple of food items. So we ordered a tuna tartare off the happy hour menu ($10) then ordered a few items from the regular bar menu ... charcuterie board, grilled shrimp & duck fat French fries. There were 4 of us and we had more than enough to eat I choose an espresso martini, there was a mimosa and 2 Bloody Mary s Absolutely everything was outstanding. Including the bartender who was also our waiter at early happy hour Would love to go back at dinner time and see what they have to offer as a meal. All that food and drinks came to approximately $90. Not bad at all. The olives served on the charcuterie board were unique. The bartender went to the kitchen to find out what they were for us They were tangerine chile olives. Almost sweet. He did say good luck finding them Amazon had everything, don't they !!!! We shall see. LOL read more
My friend and I stopped in for dinner and had a wonderful experience! The staff were friendly and attentive, the outdoor patio was perfect for a summer/fall evening and the food was delicious. We ordered the cheddar sage biscuits to share - they were incredibly delicious with the strawberry compote as well! My friend ordered the burger and I got the pastrami sandwich and we both ordered truffle fries. Everything was cooked to perfection and so flavorful. It was also so much food so I had plenty to take home for leftovers. This is such a cute restaurant with yummy food and good drinks to check out for a date night or to meet up with a friend! read more

Had a good diner at Sage leaf! I will say I thought out appetizer (the cheddar biscuits) was the best part of the meal lol. Ambiance is very modern and intimate/romantic, perfect for date night. Service was good, no complaints. My husband and I both had the pastrami burger with different sides. I really enjoyed the duck fat truffle fries but my husband did not. Luckily he really liked his own fries! (Just the regular fries!) I will say I didn't think the burger was all that special, and was a bit too pastrami forward in my opinion, I'd order something else if we went back! read more
Holy moly- Safe Leaf gave this location got a major upscale makeover and it looks absolutely stunning. I love the dark and moody luxury vibe of the place (even the bathrooms were elegant)! Our server Bianca was very warm and kind. She got us started with two of their craft cocktails, the Sage Leaf and the Incline I.V., and an order of the duck fat fries. Their namesake cocktail was light and refreshing while not being overly sweet- if Lake Tahoe had a signature drink, this would be it. The Incline I.V. cocktail was a tropical paradise for me, I love a sweet and creamy drink with vibrant flavor. If you're a fan of pina coladas, you need to try the Inline I.V.! The duck fat fries were every bit as rich and indulgent as one would imagine, they could almost be a meal of their own. My partner ordered the Biscuits & Gravy and they loved how the biscuits were hearty and that the smoked gouda added a rich flavor to the gravy. He would absolutely order this again. I had the Salmon Benedict which was positively lovely. The smoked salmon was silky and mouth-melting, topped with a velvety hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs. The side salad, while simple, was splendid. However they're dressing the salad, it packs a great punch and I'm sure it compliments more than just my salmon benedict! read more
Never been to the Tahoe location but was excited to hear about the new Reno location. The space has really transformed into a beautiful restaurant. We ordered the ahi tuna, biscuits, and pork belly. The pork belly was excellent with the flavor of strawberry to complement the richness. Tuna was good with the wonton chips. Wish we were able to order a third biscuit for our party of 3 as only 2 come in an order. For entrees we split the short rib and duck confit spaghetti. Both dishes were rich but flavorful. We also got a side of duck fat fries, delicious! Dessert we got the brûlée cheesecake which was the perfect finish to the meal. Service was a bit slow but overall we had a good dinner. read more
Parking is a chocolate mess in this area. The food, service and indoor and outdoor spaces are excellent. We had to try the candied bacon of course. Not a single regret in the group! A bowl of pepper & tomato soup was lunch for one. Two braised bacon tacos was enough to split and tasty. From the brunch section of the menu the Tahoe Blue French toast was excellent. We'd definitely come back. Two notes on the menu threw me just a bit. A soda was $5 with a note that no free refills were available. A bit steep without refills. Extra syrup for the French toast was an extra $2. Now these items have a cost for a restaurant and some diners take advantage of extras but I was still taken aback by this. read more
Positives: Absolutely beautiful decor inside and out I mean talk about a cute IG opportunity. It was a little hot so I decided to be inside for lunch although the patio was beautiful! Parking can be a bit of a problem but I just parked around the corner near the apartments. Servers were kind and seated me right away, good music and they recommended the French Toast and Braised Bacon Tacos. I can see this as a cute date spot, weekend girls brunch, or work lunch. They have happy hour and I would love to see a bottomless mimosa here on the weekend and take advantage of their beautiful outdoor patio area. I opted out of both recommendations and instead tried the Soy Glazed Banh Mi sandwich with a side of fries which sounded really good. Fries were a bit cold and the sandwich was ok, plenty of meat but pork tasted bland and a bit too much fat for me. Unfortunately, this dish was a miss for me hence my score and I will update my review once I try it again. read more
Compliments to the chef!! We came to try the dinner menu this time, which begins at 5pm. If you arrive sooner you can sit at the bar to wait for dinner service to begin and order from a limited menu. We chose to have drinks and wait, both our meal and our server were exceptional! I got their spaghetti con anatra but added a side of their oyster and trumpet mushrooms to it. This was such a great choice!! I enjoyed every bite:) My hubs got their pastrami burger with duck fat fries, the burger was cooked to perfection, I highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a top-tier meal. read more
Newer to the Midtown area as a couple of months ago! I made reservations given that it's new and I wasn't sure how busy it would be, especially with it being a holiday weekend. We made reservations for 1:00 pm but it did seem like we would have been okay if we didn't make them. Menus and water were brought over very quickly. Two members of our party ordered cocktails which did take some time to come out, but they were delicious! Food came out in a great amount time and everything looked amazing! I ordered the burger and subbed the duck fat fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the addition of the fried egg was so good! I liked dipping the burger in the egg yolk. The bun had the restaurant name kind of branded into the bun which was a cool touch! The fries were so good! Kind of crunchy and the garlic aioli was phenomenal! Our waitress Bianca was very attentive and very nice. We asked for a straw for one of the cocktails and she brought it back, holding it with a napkin which I really appreciated! The interior is really pretty and super fun for a girls brunch or a sweet date night. They have front and back patio seating which I would love to try when it's not so hot. Beautiful interior and great food! read more

First time in, and Yelp brought me here. Amazing enough I found parking right outside the restaurant. They have a front & back patio and beautiful indoors seating as well. I was greeted immediately & taken to one of the patios which was covered in vines & had lovely ambiance. The tables were set, water & menus. The server introduced herself. I want to say Veronica. She was wonderful. We ordered drinks, bubbles & berries :) yum! The menu was perfect! Just enough choices. I love restaurants that do a few things really well & the food turns out spectacular like this. I had the vegan hash & no I'm not vegan, but the description made me want to try it. I found my favorite breakfast of all time! It was huge & so delicious. My friend has the pastrami and she said it reminded her of a place they went while on vacation & thought they'd never have pastrami that good again. We hadn't seen each other in years & we wanted to take our time, talk & enjoy our brunch & at no time did they rush us. It was a 10/10!!! read more
Great recommendation from my buddy! A home run! Quality/Quantity - Both my buddy and I spent a lot of time in Incline where this restaurant is from. So he suggested that we visit this new location. Simple menu done well, I mean VERY well! Slightly different menu from their Incline location. See their websites. Actually the menu is slightly different from their website. Green Bean Frites - Our starter, fresh green beans that were freshly and perfectly fried. I can eat a few more of these... Sage & Walnut Pesto Conchiglie Pasta - My buddy's dish. I was worried that it was too small, but as light eaters, it was actually the perfect quantity for him. Oh, if you are following, you also know that we drink more than we eat. I mean drink WAY more than we eat, lol. Pork Chop - Generous portions, especially for a light eater like myself. BUT I did not really eat lunch today, so I knew I was going to finish this delicious meal! So good, from the chop to the sweet potatoes and greens. I am going to take my wife and daughter here, one of these days. Happy hour was also available, but my buddy was too lazy to leave Zephyr Wine Bar, lol. But you know that because you are following. Decent drink menu, see pictures. Full bar available. Ambiance - Beautiful new location. I think the outdoor spaces are still a work-in-progress. With summer around the corner, I see that you got new patio chairs for your rear outdoor space. Indoor and outdoor seating. Table and bar seating. Beautiful new decor, see pictures. VERY limited parking, a very small lot. Although there are many street parking spaces, we came during prime dinner time so we had to park two blocks away. Good thing I like to walk. Service - Good. No reservations, but they were able to seat us immediately. Price - Expensive, but really reasonable for the quality of food. $107 + tip. FYI - A split plate charge of $6, parties of 6 or more has an automatic 22% tip, 2 credit card maximum, etc. Owner Comment - Congrats on all your success since 2020 and now this second new location. How did you end up opening both restaurants on Tahoe Street?!?! read more
The pastrami here is the best ive had in town. Pictured is the pastrami burger. Bomb.com. Justin was a good server. We sat on the back patio this visit, it was quite and private back there. Awesome time, and well satisfied! My burger came medium, the way it was ordered. Seems like bare minimum but you would be surprised how many cooks, will cook a burger however they see fit. Sage leaf rocks. read more
The place is pretty and the decor is nice. Plenty of tables inside and outside. I've been here twice; once for brunch and the 2nd time for lunch. Staff was really friendly and attentive. We recently had dinner here and were excited to try a new spot in Reno. We were pleasantly surprised that we were able to book a table just a few hours ahead on a weekend, which was a nice start to the evening. The cocktail I ordered was pre-batched, so the sweetness couldn't really be adjusted without changing the integrity of the drink. That seems to be a growing trend around Reno lately with batched cocktails. House Made Organic Sage & Cheddar Biscuits were absolutely amazing, easily one of the highlights of the meal. Beet & Strawberry Salad was refreshing and light, though the candied walnuts that normally come with it were accidentally left off and had to be brought out separately after we mentioned it. Basil Pesto Conchiglie Pasta was a bit underwhelming. It lacked the bold pesto flavor I were expecting and the balsamic glaze on top was an interesting choice that didn't quite work for us. Citrus Brined Bone-In Niman Ranch Pork Chop, on the other hand, was delicious and full of flavor. The spaetzle paired especially well with the dish. We also ordered the Hand-Cut Duck Fat Fried Steak Fries, which were great with the truffle aioli. That said, a handful of the fries were over-fried or included dark/sprouted potato end pieces that weren't particularly enjoyable to eat. Parking ended up being easy enough, we found a spot just around the corner since there wasn't much available directly by the restaurant. Overall, we would come back for the food. Unfortunately, the service fell short of the experience we were hoping for. Once the entrees were delivered, our server never checked back in. Dessert menus were handed out without any interaction and when the check was returned there wasn't even a simple thank you or have a great evening. The service overall just felt inattentive and lacking warmth. read more

Enjoyed trying Sage Leaf after recommendations from a few friends! Did not disappoint at all. 3 out of 4 at our table had the burger, one with the duck confit fries and one had a pecan salad. We went on a Sunday which they offered half off bottle wine that they also have a house Sommelier! Ask for them, he recommended a bottle within our price range that we all would like and it complemented our meal. The entire renovation from Laughing Planet is unrecognizable but ambience is low light, intimate and modern. I heard the happy hour (offered Monday - Thursday 3-5?) is great so that'll be another one for my partner and I to try to be able to taste more of their menu. read more

My first experience here- lovely I walked in at brunch hour with my 3 year old and was a little nervous that it wasn't going to be a kid friendly place (because it's so classy and all the business people were there for lunch)... but they offered a high chair, crayons, and a coloring page. Those little things matter. Nice crayons too not the cheap ones. My friend recommended the vegan hash- it was absolutely delicious!! I'll be back for that because I can't stop thinking about it. So many layers to it and lots of thought put into it! We also had the sage biscuit- I could have eaten 3 more of those. Love the ambiance and the friendly quick service. read more
Loved the ambiance. Went for brunch on Saturday and had a nice experience. Food was amazing and Jacob was the host or mgr. & very pleasant. Joshua was server but not warm and fuzzy at all. But food was great and will be back. read more
Love it when a great restaurant locates to a spot that is walking distance from home. I think the new location on the north end of mid-town is perfect. It is hidden away on Tahoe Street - a little bend in the road between Forest and Virginia. There is parking available with a few designated spots in front of the entrance. Upon entering, we were greeted and shown to a booth. The only down side is it is pretty noisy and it was quite busy on a Thursday night. Being against the wall helped a bit. The service was excellent. Bianca was attentive and checked in on our satisfaction. The bus boy was diligent about filling our water and removing our plates. My husband ordered the Prime NY Steak with fries. I had the Pesto Conchiglie Pasta. Our companions had the Red Wine Braised Bone-in Beef Short Rib (tried a bite it was melt-in your-mouth tender) and The Burger - deemed really good! We ordered desserts to share - Dark Chocolate Marquise Mousse Cake and Brûléed Cheesecake. Definitely worth a return visit. I am glad we made a reservation as it seems to be the new Hot Spot in Midtown. read more

Recently tried this place. AH-MAY-ZING! Food was delicious. Great service, friendly staff, and very stylish decor. Sat outside on their patio during brunch. The white sangria was fantastic along with the corned beef brisket hash, and braised bacon Benedict. We also ordered the donut holes, and the dark chocolate Marquises mousse cake! read more

I came back for Brunch on Easter Sunday. Luckily, we arrived before the rush, but when we were leaving there were several parties waiting for a table. They were really busy, but the service did not suffer, everything was great! It was a beautiful morning, so we sat outside on the Patio. It was very nice, but I did miss the Music playing on the background from last time (it's one of the things I loved my first time here). I had the Buttermilk Banana Pancakes. They reminded me of Banana Bread, but very much the texture of perfectly light and fluffy pancakes. The toppings were also yummy, especially the Maple Peanut Butter Syrup. My daughter had the Strawberry Pancakes (not pictured). It was an Easter Special and not on the regular menu, but she absolutely loved them. I've been here twice since they opened and so far I have nothing but great things to say about the service and food here at Sage Leaf. Can't wait to come again! read more
Came in on a sunday for Easter Brunch. We had a reservation but they were able to take us a little early. Super cute interior and nice patio. Service (our server was Mook) was really great! We ordered the steak fries, avocado toast, french toast and battleborn scramble. All the food was so good and fresh! The fries were some of the best Ive had! The strawberry fields mocktail was also super delicious! Overall Sage Leaf knocked brunch out of the park and we are definitely looking forward ro coming back and trying lunch/dinner option read more
OMG! A neighbor took me out for breakfast for my birthday today since we're going to be out of town on my birthday. We decided to try Sage Leaf. It's where the old Laughing Planet was on Tahoe St. in Midtown. It was FANTASTIC! They did a beautiful remodel (even the bathrooms are beautiful. The food and service was amazing. We sat on the patio because the weather was so beautiful. I had the Carnitas Huevos Rancheros. Probably the best Huevos Rancheros I've had in Reno. I've lived here in Reno for 26 years and if I see Huevos Rancheros on a menu, I have to try them!!! Can't wait to try lunch and dinner there too!!! The menu looks fantastic! Check it out when you get a chance! read more
